I dined here last Saturday evening and had the most amazing food! My favourite appetiser dish had to be the Kataifi Prawns which were by far the best prawns I've had in a long time, I had to stop myself ordering more! Shortly followed by the grilled aubergines - which tasted like peanut butter and seaweed! For mains I was blown away by the black cod and truffle beef - which both melted in my mouth! Then the sushi - wow - the foie gras was exceptional! Last but not least the cocktails topped the meal off - the barman was super knowledgable and made me a gin based martini! Overall we had an incredible evening with outstanding food and great service! I will definitely be coming back to this new little treasure I've discovered!
So firstly the lovely lady on the door got us a table even though we hadn't made a reservation. (At 7pm on a Saturday night)!
Then a really nice fella got us some drinks immediately.
Our waitress was also super nice. The food was spectacular. Actually shockingly good. They even brought us an extra dish for free.
Apart from the stupidly delicious meal I found all the staff there super friendly and not in that forced way. Just really genuine, like they really enjoy their work. I honestly can't wait to go back!
Best atmosphere, best sushi I’ve tried ever 😁😍 best chef best staff ❤️ Best cocktails... seriously everyone should go and try their food it’s awesome guys 😁 no regret will be going back for sure 😁
Great Japanese inventive fusion food. All dishes finely prepared with distinctive flavor. I enjoyed most the ribs:) very cool cocktails too. And the staff is friendly so we had a great time with friends!
Had a lovely meal with my daughter yesterday. Food was excellent and the all you can eat lunch buffet was very good value for money.the staff were friendly and attentive especially the lovely Sylvia. I will definitely return
The food was amazing & all arrived piping hot and Waitress was lovely even when we changed our minds a couple times. Cocktails were good too, definitely recommend.
Fab food fab staff fab place to go x I've been a regular here for 7 years and the food is to die for. The portion sizes have shrunk over the years which is a bit disappointing, but the silver lining is I don't eat as much :)
amazing place, amazing food, amazing people... a place to relax, celebrate and share stories with friends.
It might be one of the best sushi restaurants in London... great vibe, friendly service ...and food !!! Stunning sushi, awsome beef and fish that disappeares from plates in seconds. ...and you simply want to have more.
Everyone seemed to be happy and relaxed just as we were. Thank you Tsunami for a great night. Will be back soon. Well done ! ;)
We Celebrated my son's 21st Birthday here. Fantastic service and best Japanese Restaurant in London!
Highly recommend it.
Great food and staff. They were also baby friendly . Great place 😀
Fantastic service and amazing Japanese food!! High recommend it❤️
I thought this place is great. I've been here a few times and it has always been amazing. The truffle beef is amazing and keeps me coming back as well as the dragon roll.
I had the most amazing meal last night at tsunami, I have been many times before but last night was far the best.
Floor service was impeccable all night and the cocktail s are always imaginative and enjoyable, my tempura black cod was cooked to perfection along with my truffle beef was the icing on the cake.
I'm now looking forward to my next visit very soon
Amazing food And great value!!!!! highly recommend. And amazing looking Restaurant!!!!!
Tsunami is an amazing Japanese restaurant in Clapham, serving mouth-watering starters and spicy, flavorful sushi. Ever wanted to try miso, lobster, sriracha or eel sauce? Then come here to try these exotic ingredients! I particularly loved the edamame beans and salt and chili pepper squid. Definitely recommend it but would like some meals for the less adventurous person.
I was throughly impressed with this place. Only downfall was the service. Although attentive, their staff should watch their movement and needs of tables.
Wonderful staff, beautiful & delicious food. Try the Volcano Roll, it's just incredible
Lovely service and pretty restaurant and dishes. Very nice but pricy, for special occasions.
Fantastic restaurant well recommend it- scallops and the belly pork is a must
Gyoza my favourite but so much to like. Really terrific food and service excellent too. Definitely be going back.
Birthday Treat. Tsunami is one of those restaurants that never fails to deliver. I am often in the horns of a dilemma when it comes to going out - do you try something new and risk it being poor or do you go for the tried, tested and hence trusted. Tsunami is one of those places. I have never had a bad experience, may be the odd dish wasn't up to par but that's rare. We ordered my favourite, the crab shumai, which I think is probably my favourite Tsunami dish. Other starters included the Yellow Tail Sashimi Jalapeno and chicken gyoza. To follow we had to have the Black cod but the real star of the show was a slow roast belly pork dish which was sensational. We moved on to a selection of sashimi and another favourite of mine, unagi with foi gras - hugely indulgent but my god, proper melt-in-the-mouth heaven. All this was washed down with several bottles of Rabi Gruner Veltliner Spiegel Weingut Rabl, Kampta, Austrian white... A great dinner, not cheap but definitely worth it
Waves of Wonderful Sushi!. At a fraction of the price, Tsunami's menu is inventive and the sushi here rivals the best (Nobu, Sake No Hana). Its local's only atmosphere is comfortable and laid back. If only the wait staff were on the ball, no one would ever go to central London for Japanese food again!
Lovely food highly recommended! Really good japanese food not at inflated prices
As much as I love my dear Michelin chefs, the place I eat the most in London is undoubtedly Tsunami. There is something terribly comforting about finding a good local restaurant, who always greet you with warmth, and where you trust the chef implicitly. I don't say the latter lightly - if you're going to eat raw scallops or sashimi, you need to be confident of the kitchen's sourcing. I'm often frustrated by diners who complain about the prices at their local Japanese restaurants - sushi grade fish and shellfish does not come at a knockdown price. We eat in Tsunami so often that the staff know exactly what we're going to order, which water each of us have, and which wine we're likely to prefer. As a result, it's very easy to become complacent about what's being put in front of you. This week as I was taking the 10yo too, I thought I ought to pay attention and attempt to write it up! So, to begin with, it being a Japanese restaurant, there's always edamami (the soya bean in it's pod). Th
Having felt the need to celebrate my sister's birthday in style, this restaurant really caught my eye.
We were told promptly on arrival we had two hours to eat which I'm aware is the norm nowadays but considering it took 20 minutes to take our drinks order, I did find this a bit unreasonable.
Onto the food....
Starters we had were the salt and chilli pepper squid which was succulently cooked to perfection, snow crab and prawn shumai, oyster shooter and prawn tempura. The squid and the snow crab and prawn shumai stood out with each having subtle but enjoyable flavours.
Mains there were lobster maki roll, spicy lobster roll, soft shell crab roll, roast breast of duck with hin so miso, there was a sizzling dish with prawn, salmon and pak choi with the most delectable sauce I've ever tasted!!! I could have carried on eating it for hours the flavour was to die for, carefully selected herbs which blended so well together You can't detect them individually! Simply mind blowing. the only unfortunate thing was the lobster maki and the spicy lobster came on one plate and we were not notified they were the two seperate dishes and they tried to charge twice because of this.
Our waiter offered us desert which we ordered and just as it came to host came to tell us our time was up which was disappointing considering we never wanted dessert but were offered numerous times by our lovely waiter.
For dessert we had the banoffee pies and the chocolate spring rolls which were both lovely. The cocktails were great but if you need a spectacular one, go for the Royal Dynasty, it will not disappoint. Comes with a fortune cookie and a pot of sorbet to add to your cocktail!!! Delightful!
All in all I love this place, could be pricey but considering there were five of us I think it was well worth it! I do think that if there is a time slot it's important for the hosts to coordinate with the waiters appropriately regarding timeframes. Other than that I would definitely return. Had I not got those little problems with the food order and the rushing us out this place would've received a 4.5 from me as the food was really good
Award-winning Tsunami is a gem that I popped into for a girl friend's birthday dinner! We were incredibly impressed with the attentive service that we received and the tasty food. Not to mention that none other than Stanley Tucci (who was in town for the premiere of the 'A' team), just happened to be sitting at the table next to us.
He even obliged with a pic! Wonderful fusion Japanese food and I loved their miso soup!
You MUST try the prawn, eel and wawyu beef topped with foie gras. It melted in your mouth. Cocktail here is really great if you can drink acohol.
Came here with 4 others on a Friday night. By 8pm the restaurant is 1/2 full with the remaining 1/4 table booked. We had to take the high table/chair near the bar for dinner. Their cocktails and takeaway were quite popular too.
I ordered the Tsunami mix of tempura and the Tsunami special roll. There are fairly good but not the best. The tempura had a good selection of different seafood but the batter was not as light as ones I've had and the sushi sounded amazing (tuna, salmon, snow crab, roe, avocado, shrimp) it was good - a nice sweet taste, but didn't quite live up to that expectation. I didn't like that they poured soy sauce in the dish for us because they put in a lot. Two of my friend ordered off the special menu and got a seafood tobayaki and a bibimbap (yes it's Korean). Both looked great and the bibimbap came in a heavy metal bowl and kept the heat really well. The other guy got the pork belly which looked amazing, he also got a complementary rice due to the wait and he said he would have probably needed it too.The service was friendly but a bit spotty. The waiter didn't take our menu after we ordered. They didn't remember who ordered what. They didn't advise to order rice. They reached across someone's food to take something. It's all the little things that really adds up :/ Although it was good they quickly brought out vegetarian friendly tempura dipping sauce. Finally We weren't happy as we thought we had asked for them to bring the food out all at once because we made individual orders where some people only order starter dishes/small plates and some only main dishes. It was a bit awkward waiting for the main dishes to arrive about 20 min after the small plates, but in addition one main dish came out 5-10min after the other 2 main dishes. Then there was more awkwardness when explaining we didn't want to pay for all the discretionary service charge.
I could possibly come back because it's local, it sure looks like a trendy place and I would advise making a booking.
I really love this restaurant and have been several times. The service is always really slick and the food is yummy. We had a selection of sushi which came out on a large platter and the sea ads and snow crab tempura which all was delicious. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to sushi lovers
After another late night foray into Clapham on a Friday we ended up in this stylish and moodily lit Asian sushi restaurant. The music is cranked up so it is hard to hear yourself think think let alone others talk so I wouldn't recommend it for a first date. This difficulty to communicate resulted in a mix up with our wine order and although initially there was a bit of awkwardness about this with several members of staff visiting our table to talk to us about it they eventually gave us the glass for free. I thought they handled this well in the end.
The food that we ate was great but unfortunately several dishes, including many sushi ones. that we ordered were not available and we were only told about this is in dribs and drabs which meant we kept on having to look at the menu and re-order. Considering it was a Friday night I was surprised and disappointed that they had so many dishes missing, although our waiter was extremely apologetic and helpful. In the end we just had to ask what they DID have available and ordered that!
The black cod tempura was stunning, so much so that we ordered several plates of it and greedily ate them when they arrived. For main I had the roast duck which was delicious and the soy and chilli sauces which accompanied most of the dishes was divine. Due to the haphazard nature of what actually did arrive I'm unsure what my 3 companions ate but they all expressed satisfaction at the end.
Despite the issues this a good place to eat and next time I visit I will try the miso cod (200g, £28!) which is supposed to be amazing.
Great sushi and friendly but sophisticated atmosphere. The chicken peri-peri is a highlight as is the Nigiri platter. Easy location next to both Clapham North and Clapham High St. Stations. Due to it being fairly new I expect that booking a table will be harder and harder, particularly if the staff continue to treat you like a king throughout the experience. Highly recommended.
Great service, very friendly staff & food was really good. Outdoor seating is a really good vibe, right across from a gay bar, so feels very queer-friendly. Would definitely recommend. :)
Absolutely amazing food; 10/10 would eat here every day if I had the choice, and I can not stress this enough! The staff were attentive, quick & efficient. The drinks were tasty. It was a clean and beautifully presented restaurant. Can’t wait for my next visit!

A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Receptive, nice decor, cozy and mood lighting just right. Delicious food, fresh. Got 20% off without even knowing it. Shania was lovely, very attentive and the description of each dish was spot on.
Me and a friend went here for dinner, and it's a cute little place, and it plays some great tunes. The service was good also. The staff were attentive and always checked up on us. The appetisers were lovely. We got three to share, and it was just the right amount.
My friend got the lamb chops, which he loved, and he asked if he could have the wasabi mash instead of something else, and they accommodated him. I got the grilled seabass that comes with wasabi mash. I was not impressed. There was no seasoning to the grilled seabass at all. It was just grilled, and they put some sauce on top.
The wasabi mash was also not great it was a bit lumpy, and you could hardly taste the wasabi in it. I only ate one of the fillets of seabass, and I left the other. If we go again, I would definitely choose something different. They did also have 241 on cocktails all night, which is a great touch.
Incredible food and incredible service! We went for my wife's birthday and they brought out a lovely Birthday treat for her at the end of the meal. Everyone there was amazing (I believe we were seen by Callum, Shania, Devon, and Beatrice). Cannot rate this place enough - definitely worth going!
Highly recommend the truffle beef and volcano rolls...
Can't wait to go back and try some more food 😁
Had the pleasure to celebrate my birthday today in this restaurant!! We discovered this place today and in all honesty it was the best!!
Amazing food, honestly out of everything that we tried tonight I wouldn’t be able to choose a favourite! Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavours were amazing. The drinks lived up to the high expectations the food set as well, from the wines to the cocktails, which had an amazing variety of options.
The service was awesome, everyone in the team was super nice and Callum, he definitely was the star of the night providing not only an amazing service and awesome suggestions but great conversation.
The food, service and atmosphere was impeccable. The sushi, cocktails and desserts were all excellent. Will definitely return soon.
Great service from Bea, very attentive to us and got a special wedding anniversary dessert for us. Many thanks Bea.x
Delicious food with great service! Highly recommend
Early is a great time to go, happy hour and 20% off food. Can’t recommend the katofi prawns enough. I had the dynamite beef, a little over cooked for my steak presence but still delicious. Service was amazing, the staff are always lovely. I will definitely be going back.
Girl’s night.
We discovered that place today, and without any doubt, was the best thing we’ve done.
Food, service and cocktails were amazing.
We have being served by Callum and he couldn’t be nicer and sweeter. He made our night even better.
In general all the staff was amazing. We really enjoyed!
We are looking forward to come back!

This restaurant was perfect, food just right, waiter service and beautiful decor. I will certainly be back. Good for date nights and evening meals.
The food here was fantastic! Everything was well presented and flavoursome. The service was excellent. I've nothing but good things to say about my trip here and will be definitely visiting again.
I went with 5 friends for Sunday lunch and the atmosphere was really chilled which just made for a really nice visit.
Went to Tsunami last night for a girls night out and had an outstanding experience. The food was delicious, flavourful and very well presented. The cocktails were tasty and had a good amount of alcohol. We were looked after by the fabulous JAYCE, and TIA who were extremely attentive, personable, efficient and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good evening. We had such a great time that we ended up staying from 7.15pm to not long before closing!!! A must visit - 5*. Can't wait to come back. Xx

Good food. Not cheap at all but let's be honest you get what you pay for and it's worth it.
Such a lovely restaurant, the host was incredible and gave a lovely warm welcome as was everyone else, a beautiful restaurant with amazing food. A perfect evening with my partner, Thankyou!
Food was good however we were outside and staff allowed other guests children to be playing around our table. Eventually they were spoken to but it was a while into service and many perturbed glances to the staff. They almost forgot us after that as I had to go inside to get someone to come snd take a further drink order.
A good place to do a dinner and night out in one place. You'll experience a fancy and luxurious vibe when you get in. They serve some Korean food but mainly Japanese food that is much elevated. They do good cocktails too. It is quite pricey but worth it. Good for birthdays or any events you want to celebrate. Great staff and service! I wish I took some more photos!
Our waiter Duvon made our experience very special. We were celebrating our wonderful friend before their new bundle of joy arrives and the attention to our needs and the service did not go unnoticed. The food and drinks were great! Definitely coming back!!!
