Incredible food at a very reasonable price! Lovely atmosphere and decor with amazing attentive & professional staff! Would totally recommend- we are in the bar area and will be returning to sample the restaurant menu soon! Bravo!!
Friendly and welcoming staff, imaginative menu, and delicious food. The Blue Boar was a very good choice for lunch!
We had the chicken in a basket and fish and chips, both of which were fantastic. The cocktails were delicious, the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great. We were able to have a relaxed conversation with great food in a chilled environment. Really impressed. Will definitely come here again.
We've been traveling for a month and this is by far the best service, food and overall experience of our trip.
Don't skip the Blue Boar.
Amazing, great service and the steak was jus to die for ! Would highly recommend.
Excellent food, service and ambience. Would recommend to all. Heavy on business groups when we went but our child enjoyed the restaurant as well.
Sehr gute Location. Sehr gepflegte Atmosphäre, sehr leckeres Essen, sehr gutes, motiviertes und freundliches Personal. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Jederzeit wieder gerne.
Fantastic food, service and environment. Highly recommend.

Our first Sunday roast and it was perfection! Friendly helpful staff, loved the decor...it was the perfect stop along our walk between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abby.
Absolutely fabulous! Had the Hen House & Beef Daube, all to share by the three of us. My teenager daughters loved it also!
Great service and quality food at a reasonable price.
I stayed at the property when it was the Intercontinental it was special then but now its gone up several notches . Great location - central London near everything, very comfortable rooms but what makes it so special is the best staff I have ever experienced in the World. They make everything so special by their dedicated service and commitment to make sure every element of your stay is memorable. Too many people to mention all but many thanks to Beth and all reception staff, Dave and his Dad the doormen the best in London and last but certainly not least Veronica & Juozas in the restaurant they truly made our stay exceptional. Juozas should have his own TV show a laugh a minute but always the epitome of professionalism. Truly an experience we will not forget
Home » Afternoon Tea » REVIEW: Afternoon Tea at Conrad London St. James, Broadway, St. James. Yes the rumours are true, I’m officially addicted to afternoon tea. Believe it or not at the ripe old age of 28, I’d not even divulged in the possibility of this British tradition until the beginning of this year – but now I’m making up for those missed chances. The next chapter of my culinary addiction had since led me to Conrad London St. James to sample its Summer in the City afternoon tea in the Emmeline’s Lounge and I can proudly confirm – it’s up there with the best. I’ve no idea why I’ve not visited this sumptuous and sophisticated hotel before because it really is (almost) on my doorstop. They got me from the moment I sat down, with text in the menu from Lovin Spoonful’s ‘Summer in the City‘ track – one of my all time favourite records.

A lovely fine dining restaurant with excellent service. The menu offered contemporary dishes. I could taste the freshness of the ingredients - the smoked fish was nice and the rabbit was interestingly cooked. But my favourite was the dessert - lemon tart and rhubarb panna cota. The manager was very friendly and when she knew we travelled all the way from Melbourne, after our meal she gave us a tour of the entire restaurant, bar and other spaces.
A couple of months ago I wrote a luxury guide to Victoria, in which I described how the area isn't just a train station or a business hub any more. Actually ongoing developments in the Victoria and St James area have made the area more and more exciting with new restaurants, bars and shops opening frequently, and a more varied and exciting night life developing. I know all this because I've lived there for years and witnessed these big changes as they've happened
Blue boar @ intercontinental Westminster. Came for lunch with the family. Service is good with tentative waiters & quick service. Had their signature pork ribs which really hit the spot. Also shared their pulled pork starter which was absolutely delicious. It was accompanied by creamy slaw and smokey baked beans which complimented the dish. The crispy duck egg on mushroom was also good, something alil different. For mains we had the ribeye which was cooked well according to order but quite plain to look at with just the meat & some baked tomatoes on the plate. The burger was good but lacked sauce so ended up being alil dry. We also had the baked cod & crab which I did not try. This was all paired with a nice bottle of white from Burgundy which really hit the spot. Overall, it was a good meal along with good service although there are several improvements which could have been made.
Our main was the Tomahawk steak. The house specialty, a monster steak with 32 ounces, perfectly cooked medium rare, perfect flavour, the best way to describe it is just succulent.
I always find it hard to book a restaurant that accommodates all my families requirements.
1. My dad has to have big portions
2. I have to have good quality food
3. My mum is very specific about what she likes to eat
4. My sister needs somewhere child-friendly for my little nephew, Charlie.
They don't make it easy!!
Blue Boar Smokehouse in the Intercontinental Westminster seemed the perfect solution to all our dietary requirements.
The family had come to London to keep me company on Sunday while Mr Silver was away on his stag do so a good Sunday brunch was the order of the day!
With it's dark wood interior and brown leather banquettes, Blue Boar has a very masculine and sexy feel to it.
For your refreshment / hangover Blue Boar Smokehouse provides unlimited Bucks Fizz and Bloody Mary. Me and my mum weren't drinking but my sister and dad enjoyed numerous top ups!!
Brunch started with sliced pitta bread and melted cheese...well you can't really go wrong can you? And little Charlie loved the bread soldiers.
The brunch selection is smaller than the a la carte but there still a wide variety of choice to suit my fussy family!
Like Mr Silver, my dad loves ribs! And Blue Boar give a hearty offering. The ribs are actually one Blue Boar's signature dishes. The restaurant sources the best ingredients and everything is cooked in the on-site charcoal and smoking ovens.
My dad loved his ribs and happily ate them getting sauce all over his face and hands!
Jen, my big sis, choose a surf and turf option of ribs, scotch bonnet chicken wings and marinated jumbo prawns. As you can the portion size was generous and could have been a main course. Jen loved the smoky and spicy flavour of her meat and seafood dish.
Avoiding the meat altogether my mum and I chose smoked salmon and grilled sardines. The dish should include potted crab but neither of us like it so we asked for it without. They were very accommodating in replacing mine with extra salmon and my mum's with extra sardines.
Our fishy dish was delicious and the salmon was firm and not too greasy, just how I like it!
Little Charlie enjoyed his kiddies fish and chips.
Main courses also take inspiration from American pit-masters but retain a British influence and use British seasonal ingredients.
My dad was in heaven with his big portion of pulled pork shoulder served with sage and onion rolls, smoky baked beans, coleslaw and homemade pickles.
The ladies of the family all chose the same.
Sea bass with tomato, salsify and garlic cooked in the Josper oven. The sea bass was perfectly cooked and we all loved the sun-dried tomato salsa that accompanied it.
The absolute highlight of the Blue Boar Smokehouse brunch is the dessert buffet. Here it in all its glory:
As you can see it was sweet treats galore!!
The fabulous Blue Boar brunch includes unlimited Bloody Mary and Bucks Fizz, bread and dips, and three courses, all of a portion size to suit my dad! And at £35 each I think it's incredible value for money.

• It takes a lot to drag us away from the Kentish suburbs into London on a weekend. Yes we adore London, but the city is for work days, weekends are for home. But when we saw the indulgent brunch menu for the Blue Boar Smokehouse, we made an exception.
After a nightmare journey into town (another reason we steer clear of London on a weekend, engineering works, parades, no taxis..) we finally arrived at the Blue Boar an hour late and stressed.
Housed in the Westminster InterContinental hotel near St James’ Park, the Blue Boar is an elegant dining room with the most beautiful dessert table we have ever seen. A singer strumming away on his guitar to some of our favourite songs, bottomless Bloody Marys and Bucks Fizz, now THIS is the way to spend a Sunday afternoon. As we walked past the desserts to our table my jaw was on the floor. All we needed was a few tabloids to trawl through and it’d be perfect. There were broadsheets on hand however, this is not a Sunday Mirror kind of place.
Lovely place. Delicious food. We had the Blue Boar Club and the Lentils Shepherd's Pie. Fair prices. We enjoyed it so much. Great staff. Lovely, super friendly waitress. You made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Wafa. You're service was extraordinary! We will definitely come back!

So good we ate there twice. The first night I ordered a club sandwich and my son ordered a burger. Both we excellent. The 2nd night we both ordered fish and chips. The cod was cooked just right and thick cut fries made meal perfect. The atmosphere was very lively, which after a long day of touring was definitely needed. I highly recommend the Blue Boar. Staff is friendly, prices are fair and dress is casual.
We went for lunch with some friends. The restaurant was very elegant, and we were seated right away. Food was very good. The service was good, a little slow to get new drinks and to receive our bill. Other than that I would recommend and would go back.
This place was very good pub restaurant! The only thing was the service was incredibly slow. But the waiters were very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was neat, it was modern and classy. We got a chicken club, fish and chips cod, and tiki masala. Yummy! Overall great place!
Before I get to the food and service, let's talk about the bathrooms here. WOW. Super swanky. Make sure you try them out!
OK as for the food and service, everything was superb. The Blue Boar is a higher end pub with a casual vibe. The food was delicious. We got the VBLT (vegan BLT) and the beer battered fish cod.
Pro-tip: This is a great pub to visit between visits to St. James's Park and Westminster Abbey.

Good food choices and a lot of alcohol selection. The place is a new type of pub with beautiful decor and really heavy tall chairs.
A bit expensive than normal pub prices but their buffalo cauliflower and sticky pudding is delicious and something we came back for. They serve Hawkstone beer
We spotted this place while looking for a pub dinner in the area and were immediately amused by how nice the location is. However, we had to wait for 15 mins for someone to come talk to us after entering and another 20 mins for someone to ask us if we wanted a menu. The place was fairly busy but for the price tag (compared to pubs) we would have expected a better service. Four beers and two burgers came up to £90.
THE most delicious gravy for vegetarian/ vegans for their Sunday Roast and Lentil Shepherds Pie. So delicious I’ve been twice! I never normally like / eat gravy - it’s always so gloopy or too runny and lacking in flavour. This is so flavoursome and the dishes are soooooo satisfying. Oh and the triple cooked chips are tops! Thanks Sally Abe & team for turning me around on Sunday Roasts! Oh of course they have traditional Sunday Roasts for meat eaters too and my friend who’s rather critical loved it too. All good all around!
Spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable, beautiful atmosphere. Excellent service. Delicious food. Two thumbs up
Had the Sunday roast and cottage pie for mains and sticky toffee pudding for desserts. Really decent food at an ok price point.
