Elysee is.. one of the most fun places in London!
Must go there for a dinner on Friday/Saturday night.. very nice food (don't take the menu if you can, it is definitely too much to finish it all) and very good entertainment!
Around ten they start to put some live Greek music with dancers ecc.. really fun!
The best part though is when everyone stand up from his table, get in the middle of the dining room, and start smashing dishes on the floor! Can't describe how nice the ambience and the people are there.. everyone is just happy!
Upstairs they also have a club with Greek music and a nice shisha bar.
The restaurant serves dinner until 3am.
Only problem: the place is really loud, not recommended for somebody that wants a calm night.
So came here the other night to sample the live entertainment and the Greek Cypriot food which I was excited to try Loving Cypriots food immensely. It was pretty good comparing with the food I eat authentically in Cyprus nearly hit the spot as they had a lot of traditional dishes cooked to perfection unfortunately the only downfall was the terrible service they were understaffed massively. And The show itself I was 50-50 about half of the show was brilliant traditional Greek dancing music and the other half is tacky with a not very good belly dancer and a not very good singer singing classic trashy wedding party tunes. Pricewise for five people we ended up spending £350 but we left very very full with a lot of meat in our bellies and a couple of bottles of good wine.
This place was buzzing; absolutely full of people on the Saturday night when I visited, and after sampling their food I could see why.
there was live music entertainment downstairs with a live band, and the vibe was romantic and lively, we dined upstairs on the roof terrace which was full of life.
Greek food (served at Élysée) being a Mediterranean cuisine is comparable to the tastes of Turkish and Lebanese food... And our waiter informed us that the meat at Élysée is halal upon asking, though be sure to double check if you're interested on your visit.
I ordered the 'Lamb Souvla' which was delicious and very succulent pieces of "best end" lamb that had been slow cooked served with aromatic rice and salad. The flavour of the lamb was perfect with a bit of mint/herb purée drizzled over the pieces of tender slow cooked meat which I had with the rice and salad as well as the warm pitta bread for the table. This meal was filling and scrumptious, however you can have food like this at no frills Turkish restaurants around the green lanes area for a great deal less.
That said - for the atmosphere, location and yummy food, this makes a nice place for a romantic or birthday/group meal as there is great food with live entertainment and ambience in a good location.
I recently took a husband here to eat who is very fussy and hard to please. I loved the ambiance. The staff members were welcoming and smiling. We opted for the deep fried liver to start and he had Lamb cutlets which she said were the best she'd ever had. We loved the food which was very well decorated and the ambiance. The staff members made our evening great with the smiling serving. We recommend it to others.
Elysee was my first experience of Greek food and it definitely did not disappoint.
There was a group of 15 of us that went in for dinner so we went for the Meze option for starter, main and dessert. Everything that was served up was delicious and the food just seemed to keep coming! Lots of different flavours were served up in each course and it was all wonderful. For the main course there was a nice mix of different meats but the lamb in particular was very nice. When the fruit platter for dessert arrived I didn't think I would be able to fit any more food in.
We went in on a Saturday night and it was very busy but the service was always friendly and very quick. They also had on a live band which created a great atmosphere and definitely added to the evening. About halfway through the meal they got all of us up to dance and do the traditional plate smashing - it was great fun. If you have a special occasion or fancy a fun night out I would definitely recommend Elysee.
If you are looking for a light lunch and dinner this is the place. In the summer you can seat at the terrace and enjoy a leisurely lunch. In the Evening if you are looking for some Greek music you can join the band for traditional Greek dancing. However, usually the place is overcrowded and the music is definitely too loud for a restaurant. People smashing plates became quickly annoying.
Amazing Greek food lots of options available from food to drink. Downstairs restaurant has that high end posh look about it. Go upstairs you have open outside feeling nice decor and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They also have sheeha options available
Definitely will be coming back here another time when next in London
What an exciting evening, the atmosphere was energetic, the music was great and the highlight for me was the ability to break plates. I learnt new fun ways to dance and smash things simultaneously, definitely a great experience.
Great atmosphere and very nice experience, live music is 🔝
their singers are very good.
Belly dance was a nice top-up
despite non greek legacy.
Whole restaurant were reserved for corporate event and smashing plates were so much fun for everyone.
Staff very diligent and friendly,
overall very good greek experience .
I came here twice. The service is great. Very friendly staff and good service.
The food is good quality and good size portion.
I decided to have my birthday here and I was so happy.
The cocktails are really tasty.
I had Musaka which it was amazing 😻
My friend had Kebab (diced lamb) which it was great.
The toilet is clean too.
This is truly a unique experience. the entertainment definitely made the night, belly dancer, live singers and smashing plates.
The set menu had a vast selection and the portions were large. It was a little cramped inside and we couldn’t talk until we went upstairs to the Shiah’s garden because the music was so loud.
Overall we had a great night and it’s worth a visit!
Prices are high then usual. The place is mostly for Greek / Arabic music lover in Separate rooms by the way. Overall had a good time...
I'm really surprised by the bad reviews about racism and sexism. My experience was completely different. This place was a surprise birthday treat last Friday and I had an amazing time.
We firstly started off at the rooftop bar, it was £14 for a cocktail, we got cosmopolitan's, strong and sweet drinks, loved them. The decor was nice, the sun was shining, the vibes were great.
Then we went downstairs into the restaurant, and the food was incredible. I've posted some pictures, the meat was tender and the calamari was perfectly crisp. The entertainment with a belly dancer, live singers and plate smashing experience was definitely unique and not what I expected from the night. The staff were friendly and the drinks and food arrived fairly quickly. I will definitely be going back. I felt like I was on holiday!
What a place! Truly Greek experience including live music, dancing and places smashing (for good luck I'm told!). A lot of food and exceptionally attentive staff! Very nice vibe in the upstairs garden too! Highly recommended!
Amazing rooftop specially in the sunny days!!
Some yumm Greek cuisine along with drinks!
Worth the price if you like eating.
Definitely coming back as the service was amazing
Fabulous evening. The staff made us feel so special. It was my sons 25th birthday and they went out of their way to make him and our party of six feel special. The food is outstanding. I will definitely return but this time during the day when I can enjoy the delicious food as in the the evening the fun entertainment distracts you from the lovely food. See you soon.
