Amazing! My friends took me here when I first moved to London and the food and service was awesome.
Delicious dinner, well prepared and presented. Waiter provided us with excellent advice as to the menu. Certainly would recommend this restaurant
Tasty Nepalese. Very friendly staff and tasty food. A little more expensive than your average Indian eatery but worth the extra difference for the change in scene.
All the dishes we tried tasted fresh and well spiced.
Good, original cooking with excellent spicing. Nice breads and a very reasonable winelist. The only let down was the friendly, but slooooow service.
Lardbutty gives it 4.5 out of 5 and says it's "excitingly different" .... we received attentive service and fine quality and excitingly different food and drinks.... we shared a few appetisers between six of us including dayalu - potato pate made with lentils, spinach herbs, served with sesame pickle @ £3.75, momoch - steamed dumplings (dim sum style) filled with tender lamb herbs, served with achaar @ £3.90, saffron chamri - roasted cheese, saffron flavour @ £3.90 ,,,
Visited (and ordered delivery) a number of times, food is always brilliant - I didn't veer away from my usual order of Mayur Lamb and chow-chow (noodles) but will one day! It's a real shame that Nepalese food hasn't become more celebrated in the UK as it's so good. Service was also really good, particularly as it was a Sunday night when you can imagine work is the last thing you want to be doing. Prices are extraordinarily reasonable as well. Just go here, you won't be disappointed.
Fantastic food, beautifully presented. Serving staff lovely and very efficient. Reasonable price with generous portions. Great terrace sheltered from wind. We ordered too much, because we wanted to try as many dishes as possible. Well priced for all that we ate and drank. Would highly recommend. Well behaved dogs accepted on terrace, but not inside restaurant. On our Friday 11 August visit, the restaurant was buzzing, and it is well deservedly popular.
London has many places with delicious food. This is one of them. Great use of spices.
London has less places with delicious food and tables that aren’t crushed together.
Even rarer in London is delicious food, a comfortable place to dine plus warm and friendly service.
Gurkha’s is that rarity.
3 of us went on Sunday and had an amazing time. The service straight away was top quality. The girl who served us was informative, friendly and helpful and gave us some recommendations which we took.
The food was incredible from start to finish.
For starters we had the Momo Cha and Choyala. Both delicious but the lamb (Choyala) was especially nice. So good we then added a lamb main to our order.
We had Khorshani chicken, Mayalu lamb, and Prawn Asworya for mains. Each one different and very tasty. Personally I liked the chicken dish the most but all 3 were so flavourful.
We also tried the Daal of the day (yellow lentils) which was very inch and tasty and Lukla simi (mixed beans and peas).
This is the third time I’ve been here and each time it gets better I think. Service and food both 5 stars.
Excellent food. Amazing service. Try the Momo Cha, the Mayur Lamb and the Holy Sweet dessert. Everything else we tried was good, but these really stood out!
Delicious food (esp the creamy salmon curry) but pricey and the portions are small. I was still hungry at the end. Service took a while on a Wednesday night as well. But the food was incredible!
First experience was great. An interesting and tasty menu. The food was similar to Indian food but with a different and interesting selection, really tasty! The environment was lovely and spacious. There was also some authentic photos and art which added to the atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food and service here are top notch, easily one of the best restaurants in Balham. The food came out piping hot and was served on warm plates. We had a range of dishes including a chicken dish from the chuli oven served sizzling hot. There is a range of meat, fish and vegetable dishes and several types of bread. The price is unbelievable for food this good, we'll definitely be stopping by again.
Excellent food. Great staff. I just had take out food and this is some of the best food I had in London. Will be back soon
Really loved our visit here, well worth a visit. Excellent mannered staff. Good pricing, really tasty meals.
Really, really love this place. Top notch food and lovely staff. Easily the best restaurant in Balham!
Visited for hubby's birthday, food excellent, staff friendly to the point they noticed that hubby had a birthday gift bag so later they bought out a chocolate cake and all sang happy birthday, will visit again.
Excellent service and setting! Delicious well portioned food, enjoyed by all, suitable for the meat eaters and veggie's. I highly recommend :-)
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere specially lovely service. Staffs are very welcoming, friendly and the foods were great.
Visited this place for the first time and can't believe we haven't been before. The food was so delicious. The service was very attentive and the restaurant was reasonably priced.
Visited for a friend’s birthday meal. The food was exceptional and the staff so welcoming. They really made his birthday so special. Thank you!
WOW what a lovely meal. Not only delicious food, but wonderful service too. Very friendly and relaxed environment. We where a group of 8 plus a one yr old and they were very accomodating and kind. All the food was top notch, I had a lamb dish and was cooked to perfection. The deep friend banana desert was also so tasty. Thank you!!!
Apart from service ( which is very delayed ) everything else was really good. Authentic Nepalese food, one of the best in the city.
The food was amazing and they were so friendly and it is the best Nepalese restaurant I have ever been to. Definitely recommend the chicken chow chow/chicken chow main.
