i think ive found the best roast in london folks. i mean to be honest, i havnt searched far and wide but you know a winner when you come across one.

this aint no weatherspoons pub grub. this is the pub grub of your dreams.

let me talk ya through it,

the roast chook is stunning. its for two people so hey! great if you have a friend that also loves a roast chook. it comes with the classic roast line up, yorkshire puds, potates, carrots, savoy cabbage, etc etc. BUT THEN it also comes with these just ridiculously good creamy leaks. my goooooddddddd.

if you're not in the mood for chook get the beef, its so good, even the lamb. ive had em all. the chook comes with this bread sauce which is weird cause how can bread be a sauce but hey dont think too much into it just go with it.

its always pretty packed, i dunno if you can book a table but you should prob check that and book right this second. ive waited 45 minutes to get a table here. if you do theres a cool bike shop down the street that has heaps of different sounding bike bells

Good Night out.... In short, great service, good food in the main and a good wine list.

I would recommend they spend a bit more time researching their cheeses as they seemed a bit supermaket.

I really love Sunday roasts at the Princess of Shoreditch. The waiting for a table is the only bad bit, but you can book or if you’re willing to wait or willing to turn up after 4, it’s not too bad. And while I have yet to sample the Hawksmoor Sunday Roast, this is currently my pick for best roast in London.

...very generous mixed roast..: slices of roasted Kilravock farm pork belly, roasted 28 day aged Irish sirloin, and roasted free-range chicken. All laid over the accompaniments of roast potatoes, greens, and Yorkshire pudding. It was, without question, a feast of a dish.

In the end it was The Princess of Shoreditch that got our custom. We were milling around Old Street looking for some semblance of lunch or at least a heavy brunch; we had unwisely skipped breakfast again. It was one of those crisp cold Saturday morning, with ten minutes to spare before noon beckoned. "Why not you come in first and have a drink? Lunch starts in a couple more minutes," the waiter at Princess of Shoreditch suggested affably. Just a moment ago, the reception we got from Yard, the pizzeria just metres away, was starkly different. "We aren't open yet," the lone staff mumbled before returning to setting the tables. Despite the new developments that is slowing creeping from Angel to Old Street in recent years, Shoreditch still retain much of its East end quirky charm. The visi

We ordered the Scotch Egg based on the recommendation from London Chief Chowzter Niamh and it was perfect. The crispy and warm exterior, well seasoned ground pork and a perfectly poached egg was just the experience we were hoping for. The burrata was creamy and had both Alli and I having flashbacks to Italy. The chicken liver pate was a thin strip that went across the entire plate and had a soft layer of delicious fat on top. The buttered asparagus with a poached duck egg was a last minute addition to the order but might have been the best dish we had that night.

The food here is insane. You just don't expect a princess to be getting their hands dirty with the grub side of the establishment, this one does and produces food fit for a king.

The sunday roast is notoriously the finest in Shoreditch (which is a huge call considering it is surrounded by Hawksmoor, Water poet, Owl and Pussycat just to name a few). Therefore I would recommend heading over on a Sunday, this is no secret so expect to wait to be seated. Great selection of beer for any craft convert, a true gem in the crown of this princess's home town.

A pretty quick incursion to this fantastic gastropub. Need to quickly order and eat something in the space of an hour before heading to Bikram yoga! Am tempted by a lot of things on the menu but went for a light main. There's a dining area upstairs which is on the more formal side but if you can get a spot downstairs its a bit busier and more casual.

I opt for a grilled mackerel with new potatoes, asparagus and green sauce. The fish is cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavour. Seasoning is bang on. I can't resist but to order a glass of white wine to compliment even though I have a Bikram lesson coming up. Miso naughty.

Good food and service. Recommend the bavette for the main and the apple and rhubarb crumble to finish the experience.

Excellent food and service, not the cheapest but as London prices go, actually good value. As a party of 8 for a time pressed lunch, we were served quickly and all our dishes were exceptional. Braised Ox cheeks were amazing. Definitely going back and would have no hesitation in taking clients.

I visited the Princess for a dinner with my colleagues. We had a warm welcome, and were sat on a lovely table in the dining room. They had a great and comprehensive wine list. The food was amazing, I went for the Venison, which was the perfect dish in the run up to winter. Then the chocolate cremuex was the perfect way to end the meal. And to top it off, the service was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back for dinner soon.

We had such a wonderful dining experience last night! From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff made us feel at home. The menu had so many mouthwatering dishes with original pairings and seasonal ingredients - it was honestly so hard to choose what to go for. We went for tempura cauliflower, carrot hummus, confit pork belly, citrus cured salmon, leek pressè, beef rillette to end with miso and coffee caramel tart…And I must say, we haven’t been disappointed! Flavours were exquisite, with a top-notch presentation…the chef's attention to detail was evident in every bite. Will definitely come back!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The best experience I've had in London in a long while. We had the puy lentils, braised venison, and the pollock in addition to various side dishes. Every dish and every component was full of flavour. Staff members were quick and courteous. The atmosphere is intimate, like you're sitting in a private dining venue. The emphasis is really on the food and guests' comfort, not the bougie accessories and decoration like in so many places around town. I can't recommend the Princess of Shoreditch enough for everyone who's looking for a flavour bomb packed in some classic dishes.

Had lunch here on 50% off food offer and it was a wonderful treat. The choices on the menu were difficult to choose from. For starters we had the sea bream and the carrot hummus which was a generous portion of food and was delicious. Mains was the sirloin beef and the pollock in a crab bisque, this was very flavoursome dish. We were given some bread with our meal but we don't eat carbs so this was taken away but replaced with their seed crackers which were amazing and very moreish! Cocktails & wine were very good. We didn't have desert but they looked lush! My only criticism was that one of the servers was not as attentive as we would have liked which meant we had to keep calling the staff over for more drinks etc but that is the only thing I can criticise. The toilets were quaint and clean and the cutlery was the cutest set of cutlery I have ever seen!

Food was very good. Nice relaxed pub setting. Great weekend lunch option. I thought the food was better than some of the Michelin starred pubs in London.

On Sunday they have a prix fixe menu with 2 or three courses. Starters were a delicious selection of cold seafood. We all opted for the traditional roast beef dinner which came with so many sides and gravy and yorkshire puddings we could barely finish it all. Deserts were unbelievable. It’s a little off the beaten path and we only went based on a recommendation. It’s Michelin rated but I don’t believe it has a star but definitely deserves a few! Go here, you won’t regret it!

My partner and I had a wonderful meal at The Princess of Shoreditch this evening. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. For starters, I had the Dorset crab crumpet, which was perfectly cooked crab on a light and fluffy crumpet. The pickled peaches and lime added a nice touch of acidity and sweetness. My partner had the beef tartare, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. The truffle custard and watercress were the perfect accompaniments. For our main course, we both had the Yorkshire lamb rump, which was cooked to perfection. The lamb was so tender that it melted in our mouths. The crushed green herbs, cauliflower, and lamb sauce were all delicious. We also shared the new potatoes with seaweed beurre blanc and the hispi cabbage with bacon, crispy shallots, and black garlic. Both sides were very well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. For dessert, I had the lemon, blueberry, and bay tart, which was tart and refreshing. The lemon sorbet was the perfect way to cleanse the palate. My partner had the 70% dark chocolate cremeux, which was rich and decadent. The hazelnut and raspberry added a nice touch of sweetness. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at The Princess of Shoreditch. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal near Old Street.

Very tasty sea bream starter and roast beef dinner to follow. I was a single walk-in and there were no tables available, but I enjoyed a good meal at the bar, with a friendly bar-keeper and another patron on a quest to try (and rate) every beer on the planet.

Been here a few times for a Sunday Roast and it’s been my favourite in the past. But it seems there’s been a drastic drop in portion sizes with only a few potatoes and a small amount of veg between two people. Which comparing to previous photos is half the amount. Luckily we weren’t too hungry!

Best restaurant roast ever! Three courses, each a taste sensation, thank you. Not the cheapest but worth it.

Hidden neighborhood gem. Food was absolutely delicious. Most of the time it is packed with people enjoying the pub but I came for the food. Reservations for dinner are highly recommended. Cocktails also hit the mark. Wine selection is also larger than a lot of other pubs. Menu changes with the season.

What a discovery. Delicious creative food in a beautiful pub in East London. From the breads to the tartare everything looked and tasted perfect. The service is also wonderful. We will be back.

Excellent tasting menu. For me the desserts, pasta and snacks were the highlights. The main duck lacked a bit of punch but this didn’t detract from our leisurely lunch. Compact but interesting and sensibly priced wine list. Will definitely return to try more seasonal dishes.

Fabulous meal. Yes, the food is great. But the staff are what makes this place extra special. Our server (from the Adelaide Hills, name gone with that last glass of wine..) was amazing as was the lady on the bar. Brilliant wine list and the red wine was decanted and brought to a nice temperature on a very warm evening. Highly recommended.
