Absolutely love the idea of being able to order your food off the table and play games whilst you wait! However easy to get carried away with ordering. Really enjoyed the food and cocktails here, can't wait to go back.

Inamo is a unique interactive Pan-Asian restaurant in Soho where you can order your food and drink from a computerised menu on your table and play games throughout the night, including the brilliant battleship. You can also watch live video from the kitchen chef camera. There are a selection of smaller dishes to choose from including sushi, dumplings and small tapas dishes (crispy prawns, korean chicken wings, dim sum). Larger meals are also available....

I hadn't been to inamo since 2013 so it was great to go back and introduce my friend to it! He'd never been before so enjoyed the novelty of the interactive menu and playing around with the backgrounds and games whilst we waited for our food.

We started with the spicy aubergine salad - just the right blend of sweet and spicy - and the fresh and ever-so-pretty avocado salad. We followed the salads up with cucumber and avocado sushi rolls and the vegetable tempura, both of which were delicious! I planned on having the vegetable curry but we ended up pretty full after those four dishes so will have to save it for next time!

There are a decent amount of vegetarian options, though would be good to have a few more meat-free sushi roll options as that's what I really want from a Japanese restaurant!

It's a little on the pricey side and ordering small plates as you go, you have to be careful not to overdo it. But as a special occasion restaurant, it's great. The food is fresh and delicious and the dining style is unique, adding that little bit extra to your experience.

Most of you probably would have figured out by now that I prefer to write about experiences that aren't so mainstream or have that point of difference, so when I was offered to review this unique pan-asian styled restaurant in Soho it was a pretty decent tender that I certainly couldn't pass up on.

Not only do the specialise in one of my ultimate foodie loves - fresh sushi and Japanese, but they are also one of the worlds first restaurant to use an interactive ordering system, using projecters onto table surfaces and allowing you to take control of your dining experience at a click of a button. Yes, 'you heard me...! Ordering your own food, at your own leisure and let me tell you, if you are a bit of a control freak like myself then you're going to be obsessed by this. Not even kidding.

I had asked Brucine from Citylicious to join me for a quality evening out in the trendy West End as well as an overdue catch up to chat about our love for one thing. Food, food and more food.

Where do I begin....

Basically how it all works is once you are sat down, the waiter will come by your table explaining how to navigate your way around the menu which is displayed clearly on the right hand side. Its a bit like using a mouse on a Apple Mac book, just hover the arrow over what your stomach desires and tap tap away until it is placed into an ordering screen underneath. Of course it would be rude to order food first without tasting a fine cocktail of the menu. As well as being a colourful and creative selection of alcoholic beverages, there is also a decent amount of Sake, wines and spirits to choose from if these don't float your boat. I opted for the lychee martini and Brucine had the white chocolate which were arguably a fantastic choice.

While the food was being prepared, we sipped away on the pleasing flavours of the cocktails, also giving us a chance to browse the menu. I was pretty fascinated with the fact that it gave you the option of changing your table cloth. (I know, small mind) Anything from florals, to food images and even the union jack flag was in there. So as you can imagine, I was flicking through left right and centre to see which colours best suited to the style of the food. Of course.

You can choose from a selection of sushi or small plated tapas dishes to start with, the Inamo classics or curries then your dessert options thereafter.

You know in this instance that sushi is going to win over anything when I am at the table, so we decided to share the tuna and tempura prawn, soft shell crab and the baby crispy prawns.

For our mains I just had had to get my mouth around the Japanese classic - black cod miso. When you are a fish lover like myself, it really is a no brainer. Brucine had her eye on the hot stone cooked sizzling rib eye with three different sauces. There is just something about the bubbling sound of this dish, as it arrives in front of you, steaming away, the hot juices dripping off the meat and me, hardly able to contain my eagerness while waiting for it to cook away. Big fan you might say?

Anyway, getting back to the first courses. You know how particular I am about fresh sushi. I try not to dribble on about this but I have to stress the importance. The rice for one, should be sticky and at room temperature (if not slightly warm) and the ingredients should ALWAYS be fresh. I can happily report that all sushi dishes tasted tonight were of a high standard and almost had me begging for seconds. YUMMO.

The black cod was ridiculas. I mean how can something taste that good. Its almost a crime.

Neatly presented with an oversized bright red chilli (which I didnt eat BTW) I mixed this with rice and spicey aubergine which was ordered as an extra side dish. Again, another seductively pleasing dish on the palate that leaves you longing for more. Gimme.

Inbetween the dessert ordering, we cursed our eyes over the games option and had to get in a quick game of battleships. I think the last time I actually played this game, I would have even been 10. Or maybe 6. Anyway, its always a good idea to bring that kid out of you every once in a while.

I also happened to take another squizz across the menu bar and noticed the 'Chef cam'. In other words, keeping a close eye on the cooking action going on in the kitchen. Very very sneaky (I love it)

After getting over all that excitement, our sweet courses had arrived just in time. Drumroll please.....

Out came two black slate style plates, each with a trio of juicy sorbets, a luxurious mix of cakes and the creamiest of coconut ice creams. This is the point where I cant speak for at least 5 minutes.

The sorbets took my by surprise. You see the middle one pictured was filled with beautiful notes of rosewater. The mango and raspberry were also tip top and flavours you can never really go wrong with.

Finishing off with a refreshing and palate cleansing sake mojito. Im big on sake at the moment, but ive never come across it in a cocktail before. Life is always about discovering new, amazing things and this was a marvellous way to end the evening.

Cant say enough about this place. Its no fuss, entertaining, with a lively atmosphere while supplying some epic background music might I add. The prices are affordable and if it doesn't get any better than this, they are also opening a new location in Covent Garden covering over 3 floors.

Big thanks to Csilla for being such a wonderful, switched on host. I cant wait to bring my pals back here again in the New Year.

It has been a long time since I first visited Inamo when they were opened at St James, and this time I had the pleasure of dining with the lovely Marie at the Soho branch on Wardour Street. Their cuisine is described as a fusion of ideas and flavours around Asia, with influences from Japanese, Thai and Chinese cooking.

Restaurants are always on the lookout for innovative ways to attract customers. Although it’s been around for a few years it’s taken me a while to get to Inamo. What makes this place different from other restaurants? It’s not just the food it’s the interactive table surface. Instead of having a hardcopy menu, there is a projector above your head which projects the entire menu onto your table. You have a built-in mousepad, also in the table, which helps you to navigate around the different options and then you send your order directly to the kitchen or bar. Fancy changing your ‘tablecloth’? You can do that too. I loved the games that are also available to play on the table although I think the least said about our table football competition the better – I was trounced :-/

I came here a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the concept. Really, you can spend a couple of hours on their table screens and not have to make conversation. Also, you end up ordering everything because, well, you can. Just look down and press a couple of buttons and hey presto, your black cod has arrived. It's a really great black cod.

Price is fair, concept is cool, can't fault this place, can only promote it!

Love the concept of asian tapas! The place itself has a great atmosphere, and because the waitress made a mistake with our order, they offered some drinks in exchange. The interactive table is really cool and keeps you entertained while you wait, although after you've been there one or two times the interest may dim a bit. Which is great because then you will talk more to people! My advice: don't dare to miss out on the Black Cod and the Korean Pork Cheeks!!!

I'd highly recommend Inamo for the experience. It's not every day that you get to dine at a restaurant that has it's menu on a touchscreen table and have the dishes projected on to your plate!

The ambiance and service are excellent, and the food is average. Ideal for first dates (it's not too heavy on the pocket either)!

I've been waiting to come here for a while, but I was a little worried that the novelty of the interactive tables would mean the food was average. Luckily I was proven wrong! So the interactive tables are cool, it's a lovely novelty and would be great for a first date as its a great talk point, plus you can play games against each other while you wait! We ordered a number of dishes to share, the soft shell crab sushi was a bit rice heavy for me, and needed more crab for my liking! The prawn tempura was delicious, light batter and juicy prawns in a lovely spicy sauce. We shared a baby Malaysian chicken, which was well cooked, tasty but not out of this world. The standout was the sticky aubergine, sweet, sticky, spicy it was amazing! It's not a cheap place but it's worth trying out for the food and the tables.

What a fun place!
Spent a fantastic evening with friends from back home.
Every person has their own browser and you can pick and order what you like. The first time the food came, we were pretty thrilled! They even know who placed the order so no exchanging drinks once the waiter leaves.
They also have games, 2 player, so sit opposite the person you want to beat.

The service is quick, efficient.

Food is good, small portions. You end up eating and drinking a lot cos you spend a lot of time at the restaurant. Definitely going back!

Interactive (quirky) Japanese Bento restaurant that is unique, but expensive.
Definitely worth a visit (booking in advance) as the food is presented and cooked superbly (hot stone rib eye is excellent) although the portions are small.
Ideally you should order a variety of Sushi/Sashimi & Asian Tapas plus a couple of main meals then all share them from the centre. My teenage kids loved it and for an expensive treat it was ideal.

Great interactive unique restaurant!! You order your food and drink from a computerised menu on your table and to top it all off you can play games! Our favourite was most definitely battleships. The food is Japanese / pan Asian and included sushi, dumplings, and main fish and meat dishes. The food was not amazing and they were fairly small portions but it was an enjoyable experience.

Prince Gastronome. This is what a vacation is all about. Inamo topped one of the best days we had on this trip. We were feeling great. We were hungry, and the ambience of Inamo was audacious to say the least. Little did we know (Ooh, I actually said, "little did we know"...), the type of experience that awaited us. Inamo prides itself a fusion restaurant, combining local flavors into Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes. This barely scrapes an atom's layer on the character of this establishment.

If at any point you are in doubt, let me make it perfectly clear, Inamo is the coolest restaurant you will ever be in...period. And I'm not talking about the bamboo posts or nifty retro colors on the walls. I could give them high marks for their Asian-style sliding doors that segmented the tables, but no, I'm going to go straight to the tables themselves, to the computer interface located on each one.

You heard right.

The waiter explains: Customers use a little circular pad on the bottom right hand side of their table to move a cursor around their table. The cursor can open windows where you can order refreshments, small and large dishes, and a variety of deserts. Not only this, but the ambience of your table can also change, all via the projector above each table in the restaurant. The only things not touched are the pristine white plates. For every two-person table, you have two pads, though you can only have one ambient setting between you. After scrolling through flowers and mountains, we-okay, I-settled on the starfield. My mother took a bit longer to come to grasp with the technology, as she kept trying to move the cursor without using the pad.

I'm not even through all the cool things this interface can do. It can also project an image of possible meal selections directly onto your plate. I am going to repeat that and use bigger words. It can also PROJECT an IMAGE of possible meal selections DIRECTLY ONTO YOUR PLATE. And I am STILL not through. You can also open a window and see a live video feed of the kitchen, play memory games, order taxis, and even check the times of local theatres.

And a coke costs 5 dollars.

So, not a regular establishment, then. In their defense, it is a full glass bottle opened at your table. When you think about it, you are paying for the gimmick of having to do the waiter's job. The other issue is that you're meal is prepared when you order it; so inevitably, someone is going to get their meal before others. It's not cheap either, so I hoped the food was good.

Thankfully, it was. My mom ordered a seafood curry (creamy coconut curry, with shrimp, salmon, okra, potato, mussels, clams and tiger prawns) with a side of rice. I went for a modest tuna benito maki (5 pieces of tuna and mango maki wrapped in smoky flavored benito flakes), following that up with cinnamon chicken. The chicken was bizarre, with a hard blackened crust of cinnamon and spices. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll be repeating that at home. Meanwhile, my mother loved her seafood hot pot. The desert was a pandan macaroon & yuzu flavored white chocolate mousse with lemongrass & coconut sorbet, and milk chocolate sauce. If you think that sounded good, you'd be right. It was also green. When ordered, dishes arrived remarkably fast.

Inamo is an astounding feat of technical wizardry, an idea that should be replicated elsewhere. The issue with the restaurant is the logical fallacy of still charging us 12% gratuity for a service not actually performed. It has a great gimmick which is extremely fun to play around with, but I can see repeat visiting diminishing the enjoyment. It's the place you go to once and then only again when friends are in town. Maybe when the parents are in town or as a reward to the kids when they are good for a summer. I can see gathering my best mates there as a Christmas party. The point is Inamo is cool and worth going to, but not too often.

What a great experience and the food was amazing! The interactive orderig system was fun, easy to use, and convenient. I find that service is generally bad in the UK restos and this type of ordering should be used in more places. Just point and click and the food comes when its ready a la wagamama. you can play a quick game of battleship with your tablemate which is great.

Will definitely tell friends about it and go back because food is good. Try the Beef with truffle sauce, deep friend baby shrimps, wagyu beef, pork neck, black sticky rice with mango for dessert, and phoenix tea to finish. The Sake mojito wasn't too great, would have preferred plain sake.

Inamo, home of fusion. Since September 2008, the word fusion has found a new home at Inamo, a pan-Asian restaurant and bar. Illustrating the perfect fusion of the IT world's ingenuity with the creativity of the chefs' toque, Inamo is a unique concept where customers take control of their own dinner in a sci-fi dinner room experience.

The story began five years ago when two young and ambitious students, fed up of waiting for their orders, decided to work on a concept where people would enjoy their meal at their own speed without depending on a waiter's availability and other customer'sInamo-Inside.tables needs.

Two worlds were about to merge with to attain one objective: Put the means to make each customer's dinner experience exactly what they want it to be at the tips of their fingers, literally.

Mouse pads replace the paper menu to order what you want and when you want, get your bill whenever you like, even call a waiter with just the touch of a button. The lamps above your head have metamorphosed into projectors and your table is converted into an interactive tableau where you set your own ambience and design by choosing among different graphics and colours. And if your dearest love is in a challenging mood while waiting to be served, let see how you manage a game of 'battleship'.

The home of technological fusion with a dining experience, Inamo could only do itself justice by serving Asian-fusion food; a combination of Japanese, Thai and Chinese cuisine. Countries of technology and innovation, this kind of cuisine finds its place among what looks like at the first glance another gadget.

If you fancy a unique experience, step into Inamo and you wouldn't be disappointed. The food is diverse and tasty (And the 3-plate chocolate dessert to die for!), the waiters always available to help you and of course, you have a lot of fun playing with your interactive table. One advice though: order your main dish once you've finished with your starter as the team in the kitchen seem to be the most efficient cooks in London.

Seriously worth a visit. Ok, ok so you think its a bit gimicky and it probably is - but it's the food that does the talking.
After getting to grips with how to order - and the food starts flowing, you almost forget that the table is a digital menu.
Crispy pork with chocolate sauce, sweet n spicy prawns, butternut squash thai curry . . . couldn't really fault it.
I think it'd be a great place for a first date . . . definitely worth a try.

September 1, 2014 - INNER SUNSHINE , RESTAURANT REVIEW - Sunny London When Mr. Sunny and I headed to Inamo Restaurant recently, we weren’t too sure what the experience would involve. He had thoroughly reviewed the menu and was very excited. I had read the description of the concept restaurant and was curious. The website explains it as an Oriental fusion restaurant and bar where ‘Diners place orders from an illustrated food and drinks menu projected on to their table service.’ Hmmmm. From the outside, Inamo Restaurant on 134-136 Wardour Street, Soho, W1F 8ZP isn’t very mysterious. Once we stepped inside, we realised this experience would virtually be like no other. Our table offered an interactive dining experience. We were given a quick explanation of the process to order, and then we were left to enjoy the dinner. As men usually do, Mr. Sunny immediately figured out how the virtual table worked and proudly declared, ‘I’m pretty sure I just ordered a beer.’  BAM! Less than 30 seconds

..... Inamo with it's varied menu and sharing/tasting style menu seemed like a good option for us, although technically this is 'oriental fusion' not just Japanese. Great place to go if you are after the novelty factor. You order your meal by selecting the items from the computerised table - no need to call the waiting staff over if all runs smoothly! You can also order your bill by swiping the correct button on the table. The dishes have pictures of the food attached so you get a fair idea of what will turn up. Whilst you wait for your food you can play battleships with your friends on the interactive computerised table. I really like the Berkshire Pork Neck as a main (had it twice now!) and the Spicy Aubergine side dish. I was disappointed by the Black Cod - if you are used to normal cod and chips or roast cod you won't like the texture of this. It was less on the cooked side than I'm used to & I didn't feel full after the cod either. The first time I went to Inamo there was a great selection of delicious desserts, but the choice last time was very limited and not tempting. I have been to both the Wardour and St. James branches. I found the service a little disjointed at both. At St. James it took ages for our food to arrive, which wasn't great as it was lunch so we only had limited time and the restaurant wasn't even busy. The rice arrived after the mains! Both times I've been to The Wardour street branch in the evening and it's been very busy. The mains and starters arrived very efficiently on both occasions, but on the first visit they forgot to bring our desserts and only realised when they tried to usher us out as it was at the end of our booked time slot!

This was a good place to go for a slightly different experience. I enjoyed the interactive tables and I loved that when you scrolled through the food and drink choices images of your choice would appear on your plate as a preview. I also enjoyed that rather than trying to catch a waiters eye to order something you could order directly yourself - very convenient especially when you're extremely hungry and the restaurant is heaving and the chances of catching anyones attention is pretty slim. The drinks were lovely, I had a non-alcoholic cocktail (the Appleberry Mojito) and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend giving this drink a try.
The food was presented nicely and tasted just as good. No dish disappointed.
This is definitely a restaurant to try not only for the food and drinks but for the experience as a whole.

Inamo is the place to go if you're expensing your meal or if you've got bags of money, because you're gonna need it. The problem is that the food is just too damn good, you'll want to keep ordering more. And because you order through the interactive tables without having to wait for any kind of table service, you don't have time to reflect on whether you really do need that extra portion of black cod or whether you really want to spend £15 on it.

However, the food is delicious and my companion was expensing our meal so winner winner Inamo for dinner. Also I played 10 games of battleships table top which was very exciting.

I was told about interactive tables here and that was the only reason I was pretty much waiting for this place.
You can play games at this table and choose your patterns , there are plenty of games like battleship so you won't be bored. You can also see the projection of your food on the table and that is amazing.
The food was pretty delicious here , I ordered Malaysian Noodles which according to me was pretty good and the portions were also very nice.
The negative points of this place is that price is too high but they are making pretty good use of the technology so that was a gullible point.

It was a great experience eating at this place with family. Everything here was just perfect and added to the experience. The food was great, the location amazing and so was the technology. The entire family enjoyed it thoroughly and we had a hearty meal.

The concept here is excellent and makes for a great experience. The service however was so slow, and the food took forever to arrive on the table. The food although was delicious and had some great flavors. The place is a bit over priced though, in my opinion.
In all the food is amazing and the rest nothing great.

This i a fun place to go to if you enjoy a little bit gaming and don't mind the noise. You can order from the table and meanwhile can enjoy playing the games. The food is yummy, offers little variety, but there is enough to suit everyone.

I had a decently good time here. The concept seemed to be quite inventive and new to me, as I have not come across this before. As such I was quite impressed. It sort of made up for the over priced bill and food. The food however, was quite good. This place in my opinion should be reserved for more special occasions.

I went here for a birthday lunch, and were luckily able to get seats despite of not being able to make reservations, though for a couple of hours later. We loved ordering via the interactive technical system, and we had lots of fun playing on it. When our meal arrived, I was surprised to see how good it was, although the portions were a little small. I particularly enjoyed the ribs an satay. The tiger prawns, though a little expensive and small, were also delicious. I found that the service was a little hasty, but I enjoyed the experience overall. I do plan on going again.

The quality of food was brilliant though the portions served were quite small. The hot stone meat was impeccable and the pork neck that I had was also up to the mark. I had a couple of drinks to go with the starters and mains but must say that the entire meal was very expensive. Also, the menu was quite short and they did not have a great variety of dishes.

I went for a fun dinner with my colleagues the other day after a long working day. The staff here is attentive and extremely patient. This place is fun as they have lots of quirky things to offer. I enjoyed while my friends played games such as battleship, etc. I would definitely recommend this spectacular place again to everyone, be it for a family dinner or even a formal team outing!

Inamo serves a variety of Asian cuisines ranging from Korean, Thai, and Chinese and Japanese cuisines. It’s a one stop restaurant for Asian delicacies. This restaurant blends traditional interior decor and modem technology. This is reflected by the dining tables that are demarcated with bamboos and an interactive ordering system where the menu is projected on to the tables for you to use the mouse to place orders. There also is a water fountain which gives the room a posh look.

The food was great. The rice with chicken satay and Malayan chicken was nice although I would have loved it more if it was a bit spicy.

Also, the food came a bit late. They could do better with their timing.

Inamo is a place that combines technology with food.If these are your two interests this is heaven for you. Inamo has a unique sysytem where people can electronically order food on your table. The table is a touch screen which displays the menu and has other cool features like you can watch the chef cook or play games till your food comes.
The food at Inamo is also quite good.I love their tiger prawns , chicken satay and soft shell crab maki.
We ordered their Nigiri set which was decent.Their black cod deserves a mention,
In all its a fun place to go to with great food with your friends and family. It is a unique dining experience that you will remember.

Have you ever been to a place and thought this is the coolest place ever?
What I love about his restaurant is that you can go with your friends, you can go with your date, you can go with your children, or even your parents, and you are still guaranteed to have a great time.
I love the concept here, the fact that you order food electronically on your table. It's not really about the technology, but it's about the whole experience that you share with your friends or family. It makes choosing and ordering really fun, and it gives you something to talk about. Besides, you can really take your time looking at the food and ordering, without a waiter coming every two seconds asking if you're ready to order.
And what's also good is that you can order multiple times. If you're eating your last dish and you're still feeling a bit hungry, you can just order another from your button, without even having to interrupt your conversation.
I also love the food here. The menu is divided in small and big dishes, I always go for the smaller ones, it reminds me of a tapas place, and I like to try many small things as opposed to one big dish. I love their salmon maki and baby crispy prawns. Even something as simple as plain white rice is delicious here. I always accompany my meal with some kind of tea, I always try new ones.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this place, for a fun night out.

Inamo is an extremely innovative idea to combine technology with sensational food! The entire concept of having an interactive screen on your table is something that i believe lots of people will enjoy as its new and different compared to your usual white cloth table! The food service is relatively fast and the menu is very well created! My personal favourite had to be their soft shell crab maki rolls and their tiger prawns! Both of which were fantastic.

Along with this, a wide selection of beverages is available, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic! Definitely a place I would recommend going to if you're a fan of Japanese cuisine!

Inamo is a really innovative concept that I enjoyed recently. An interactive screen is projected onto your table that serves for your menu, ordering system and table cloth. All customisable, and you can play games while you eat too!

Super cool and fun atmosphere, and the food is tasty too. Loved the Tiger King Prawns; juicy and nicely garnished.

Very nice decor and good service (when the screen can't help)!

After hearing about Inamo and its interactive tables and unique dining experience, I was very excited to try it out and was super happy with mine and my friend's new table gizmo for the evening.

It was a lot like online shopping but in an instant restaurant ordering format. We were very impressed. As you scour the menu, a projected image of each dish appears on your plate so you know what to expect which is fantastic (but be warned... it's easy to get carried away!)

Now on to the food....

I had the 'Seafood Gyoza' and I wasn't disappointed, the texture was velvety smooth making them great practice for anyone looking to brush up on their chopstick using skills and left me feeling like a pro by the end of the meal having mastered getting them from plate to palate.

The 'Tiger King Prawns' were good too, accompanied by a nam jim sauce which complimented the dish well. So far so good...

For me, the showstopper aside from the tables, was my side order of 'Spicy Aubergine'. Absolutely delicious, I loved these flavour filled, melt in your mouth morsels of goodness. A must try!

I washed down my meal with a 'Tropical Storm' non-alcoholic cocktail.

The dining experience was unparalleled in its uniqueness. I had a fun and unforgettable time. We loved the interactive table concept, and for that I would definitely recommend visiting Inamo at least once.

I have a confession...

I am a total computer geek.

Oh yes, behind the 'glamourous' exterior there lies a total nerd.

My dad is a computer programmer and growing up our house was always full of computers and the latest technology. No exaggeration, I started using a computer when I was about three years old and I've never stopped my love affair with technology since.

So when I heard about Inamo, a restaurant the unites my two loves, computers and food, I was down there like a shot with my bestie, Anna, alongside.

Inamo also serves my favourite cuisine, sushi!! I think I may be overdoing the sushi to be honest, I'll have to rename the blog SushiSpoon. Actually, Inamo is Asian fusion and the menu is also influenced by Chinese and Thai cooking but what make the restaurant totally unique in the computerised ordering system.

The table cloth is actually a projected image which can be altered to customise your dining experience.

I wanted to text this photo to my mum to tell her I'd got a tattoo, but I didn't want to give her a heart attack!

The food and drink menu is projected on to the table cloth and we used the interactive mouse pad to select our dishes.

A image of the dish is then projected on to the table.

I thought this was great, we all eat with our eyes and it's great to see an image of the food first. Otherwise I'm craning round to see what the table next door is having!

Cocktails first, I had a prosecco topped with plum liquor while Anna chose the classic passion fruit martini.

The menu is divided in small and large plates and we kicked off with two small plates of sashimi...

As we didn't want everything to come at once we made sure we didn't enter the whole order into the computer system at the same time.

Meaning we had the chance to enjoy our bottle of house wine, and each other's company, slowly.

Next up was seafood gyoza.

I must say, I found the plating of this dish slightly odd and the three dumplings looked a little lost on the long plate. A bamboo basket would have probably suited this dish slightly better. That being said, I certainly couldn't fault the flavour of the cod and prawn dim sum and the tangy yuzu sauce.

For our final small plate we chose crispy soft shell crab rolls with avocado.

A perpetual favourite of mine, Inamo's pillowy rice rolls and crispy crab and smooth avocado didn't disappoint.

The bamboo forest interior of the restaurant follows the Asian theme with a Japanese garden and water features at the end. It's all very zen and relaxing!

For our first large plate we chose a chirashi.

Fresh sashimi with salad, pickles and a yuzu dressing. The flavours of the dish were spot on but I was a little disappointed with the lack of a sashimi. As a 'large' dish I would have liked to see a little more protein in my portion.

Our other choice was one of my favourite Japanese classics: black cod. Inamo's version melted gently into slices and the delicious spicy miso marinade wasn't overly sweet.

Finally the desserts! I have to say, I found it a little odd that there was only three choices on the dessert menu: ice cream, sorbet or creme brulee.

We chose to share ice cream and sorbet, again served on rather long platters rather than in bowls. They tasted great but it would have been nice to have the option of something a little more exciting.

This was a very minor niggle as Anna and I had an awesome time, we loved the fun and unique concept that I'd not seen anywhere else in London. In fact, we were enjoying our night so much we decided to have a final glass of wine nestled among the bamboo in the bar!

The computerised ordering system definitely satisfied my inner geek, thank you Inamo for a lovely night!

When Mr.

Sunny immediately figured out how the virtual table worked and proudly declared, ‘I’m pretty sure I just ordered a beer.’

BAM! Less than 30 seconds later, a server appeared with Mr. Sunny’s beer.

‘Oh, this is going to be my new favourite place!’ he exclaimed.

After a few minutes, I learned how to use the table as a menu and figured out how to order a glass of wine.

I ordered me a Rioja!

Given Mr. Sunny had already investigated Inamo Restaurant’s menu, he started to occupy himself with the numerous games and additional activities available on our virtual table. There is a merchandise section, extras, and Chef Cam!

Meantime, I photographed and completed the ordering process for all of our food.

It was suggested that we pick two small food items and one large per person. Because Mr. Sunny and I share many of the same preferences for Asian fusion, we indulged in everything together.

Our small food choices were the Baby Crispy Prawns, Seared Tuna Sashimi, Seared Salmon Maki, Chicken Satay and Tuna Maki.

Each one was fabulous. I have to admit the prawns just exploded and melted in my mouth. They were like butter bombs! I loved them!

Based on the super fast service, we decided we would wait until we finished the small food choices before ordering the large ones, so as not to over order. Plus, Mr. Sunny couldn’t wait to challenge me in a game of Battleship!

We set our ships and the game began.

Needless to say, he won and I lost.

Dude. Not cool. I’m not happy about this. Isn’t there some kind of rule somewhere that states if you’re someone’s guest at dinner, you’re not supposed to beat him/her at any activities during that time? I’m sure a virtual etiquette book exists somewhere. Doesn’t it?

As I sulked in my chair, Mr. Sunny ordered our large food choices. We picked the Nigiri Set and Baby Malayan Chicken.

Again, the food was amazing! However, I think my second glass of wine influenced my decision to endure playing another game. I don’t even know what this one was called. I lost again, quickly.

Clearly, it was the booze impairing my virtual skills. Mr. Sunny may or may not have done a victory dance. I wasn’t paying attention. I was too distracted by my delicious dinner.

The food and speedy service at Inamo Restaurant make it well worth a visit. Despite my sarcasm above, I also loved the virtual table and games. While some people may find this type of ordering process impersonal, I didn’t. It made things fast and easy. There were numerous waitstaff available to answer any questions if we had them.

I thought it was super cool that when I was considering an option, an image of it was projected on to my plate. Fancy!

Inamo Restaurant isn’t intimate, but who cares! It’s fun and interactive. We truly had a great time. I would suggest Inamo Restaurant to many people for many different occasions. It’s definitely top on my list for people going on blind dates.

Mr. Sunny ended the night with this final thought, ‘With the fast beer, great food and table games, I could stay here all night!’

We did stop in the basement level for one more quick drink and enjoyed that area as well.

This restaurant has a unique concept, that of having a fully interactive ordering service using the tables. A food and drinks menu is projected on the table and you can see what the dishes will look like, very useful for deducing portion sizes! The table cloth can be changed, interactive games played, your chef stalked using chef cam and you can call a taxi to take you home. But most importantly you can see how much your table has spent and how much you individually have spent, very useful if splitting the bill!

However the table is also very useful in making, or avoiding conversation. Though don’t worry if technology isn’t your strong point, the menu is very easy to use and it is particularly difficult to order something you don’t want.

The food is good and you’d  want to use their swanky ordering system again and again. I ordered some very nice duck with pancakes, which was helpfully stripped expertly off the bone by my waiter.  All our dishes  were also beautifully presented, making them look doubly scrumptious! However, there isn’t a massive choice, which is even more limited for vegetarians, just to keep in mind.
In terms of prices,  it wasn’t cheap. Also the portioned aren’t too big, so there is a temptation to order more and so spend more. But they do sometimes have enticingly priced set meals.

Overall, I enjoyed the novel experience and actually have a date to visit the newer branch in St. James very soon!

Inamo is a rather unusual restaurant, that gives you a taste of "Living in the Future." The main attraction is the rather fun interactive tables, where you can select everything you need - food, drink, table cloth! You can also view the Kitchen CAM and order a taxi. It can get expensive as everything looks so good, and there is a very interesting selection of Sake's.

The food when it arrives (within 15 minutes of ordering) is beautifully presented and prepared.

The dishes are designed for sharing and arrive when ready, just like Wagamama - but Wagamama the Next Generation!.

The food highlights for me, were the Hamachi with soy mirin truffle, the Hot Stone Rib Eye served on a hot stone with 3 sauces, nam jim, soy and truffle, and the desserts - Macaroon and white chocolate mousse (pandan macaroon and yuzu flavoured white chocolate mousse with lemongrass and coconut sorbet, and milk chocolate sauce) and Thai Basil Pana Cotta served with coconut foam, tropical fruits, and coconut tuile.

This place defines Geek Chic. It may be a novelty, but it's one that's worth returning too.

Brilliant experience as a novelty but the food itself is good but not amazing whereas the price of the food suggests it will be excellent. I think you are paying for the experience more than anything but would say it's definitely somewhere to go at least once. Ordering through the table is dangerous though because it's very hard to stop ordering! I did also feel a little bit hurried along as if I was being fitted into a small slot which isn't particularly how you want to feel when enjoying a nice and fairly pricey meal! But definitely an experience to try.

The Inamo restaurant offers oriented Asian cuisine as its name suggests. The concept of this restaurant is its charm. It is indeed possible to order your food through a button on your table, so it is very interactive! It is customizable and it offers a range of games to make the wait funnier! Heard about this interactive experience and decided to give it a try. The most surprising thing was the food was amazing! It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth for it, an interesting experience. The food comes at haphazard times due to the way you order, but not having to wait to catch someone's eye when you just want another drink is great.

Hi there guys,

Now there are not many restaurants like Inamo out there. This is an original and quirky little Japanese restaurant where you are assured to have a great time.

The Interactive menus are the key selling point here, as you have the whole menu at your fingertips, as a projector shines it onto your table. You have the option of changing the decoration on your table, you can selection dishes at any point throughout the meal and it gets sent straight to the kitchen (without the waiter having to rush over and delay your messages). This original piece of equipment produces frighteningly quick service, where the food is selected and cooked up in no time. And while you wait, what better than a few interactive games to keep you entertained, whether it's a table game or a game with the person sitting opposite you.

As well as this the food is also delicious and the modern decorations of the restaurant are refreshing and relaxing. Yes, it is a bit expensive but it is just such a fantastic experience that has really stuck in my memory. I recommend you go there as soon as possible, and you never know, you might even see me there too!

Great food and service. Even though we are in our seventies we enjoyed playing the games. Food was very quick to arrive. I suggest you order just one or two dishes at a time. The instant we pressed the button for assistance a member of staff came. Would recommend this as a pre-theatre dinner as it is an 8 min walk to the Apollo Theatre to see The Time Travellers Wife as we did.

Had the afternoon tea option. Prebooked this with a voucher. The food was fast, and the bang bang cauliflower was really good. Would have been helpful to run through what was what. Mint tea was just hot water, which considering was the drink option with the afternoon tea it was poor. The rest of the food was a bit average. The puddings were nice again. I had no idea what was what, staff not about to explain. Table was fun while waiting.

You place your order through the interactive, digital menu which is on the table. You can also use it to create digital drawings. It is a very funky idea. The food was delicious and the portions were a good size. I would say, definitely visit if you’re looking for unlimited Japanese style cuisine and beer and for the interactive menu experience. However, it is not a place I’d visit twice as I don’t feel like it was worth the price. Especially because some of the food items had an added cost.

Pretty cool experience with the touch screen table. You could play games, order food and do random stuff on it but in practicality in didn’t work a few times we had lots of problems ordering food accidentally, food not being ordered, food menu not working etc and would have preferred the ordering system been manual. A lot of the times what we ordered didn’t actually come out. We were on a timeout voucher for unlimited sushi for £20 which was a really good deal. We had more than enough food but often the food was lacking in flavour in my opinion especially the veggie options but there were a couple of good ones with with crispy chicken and hoisin duck that were pretty good. Service and presentation was pretty great. Pretty good but I don’t know if I’d go again :/

Very funky concept. You place order through the interactive, digital menu which is on the table. You can also play games and place multiple orders. The experience is the main selling point. The food is good, but not something I’d come here again. But definitely it’s good for one visit, especially in a group. We took the unlimited tapas option, we ordered the dumplings, sushi, Singapore noodles, soup. The portions are good, and the flavours are good too but felt a bit too expensive for the whole experience.

I bought the sushi and sake making class voucher as a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday and we had a really great evening. Class is led by a fun and vibrant teacher and the portion sizes are good (we didn’t need to eat dinner after). You take the sushi to a separate room for sake tasting and are given four different types including a sparkling sake which I’d never had before and resembles bubbly!

This experience was Amazing! We had an Unlimited Sushi for Two Voucher (Virgin Experience Days). The Sushi was Perfect, The Service was Quick, we did have an issue with the table initially and the guy sorted it straight away which meant it didn't eat into our time and our experience didn't feel interrupted. The Tables being interactive is a great idea too, we found ourselves playing Pool or Air Hockey in-between our orders turning up. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place if you enjoy Sushi. I will definitely be coming back again!

Defo an experience. Came here for a pre valentine's date night on a groupon. Was a fair price but we upgraded to the unlimited food for an extra 15 per head. Pros: Staff were nice and polite, came to clear empty plates from the table very promptly and also gave a good introduction of how ordering works. Nice range of dishes included in the set menu so lots to choose from. The interactive tables were defo a quirky pleasure which was fun. Lovely atmosphere and the fact it's on Groupon was great. Portion sizes are really good per plate of food ordered. Cons: Only reason this didn't get a 5 star from me as the food came out not very hot and we didn't get all the food we ordered as the time limit of what we had was approaching we didn't chase it up to be fair. Some dishes served with shredded lettuce that was dried up so not too appealing. Also the drinks are really expensive. Small glass of lemonade is pretty much around £4 which we felt was way too much. Sushi wasn't quite hitting the 5⭐ mark for me as it was a bit rubbery. Overall: We had a really nice evening overall andleft with full bellies. I would defo say if you want to eat here head to Groupon before parting with the full price as I don't feel it would be great for everyone (especially with the rise in interest through social media). Few things could be made better (the sushi just being a bit fresher as this is reflected in the taste) and just the prices of the drinks I would say are the biggest areas that could be revised, but overall a nice place to eat out
