Great food friendly people. Fred is always around and often seen reading cooking books. food is uncomplicated and good quality. Breakfast is a must.
Love their breakfast. Just mouthwatering. They always treat me like an old friend there. Such cute and romantic place to have lunch or just a cup of coffee. Fred- the owner will accommodate you every time you'll come in. Just love that place!
We love this place! Friendly and relaxed with delicious food. Great veggie and vegan “English” breakfast and nice coffee. Owner operated. Close to Ken High Street. Recommended!! Update - we went back for brunch on Saturday and discovered new offerings - waffles, crepes and galettes! Amazing! We tucked into our meals before taking pics and soon we’d polished off every morsel!
You haven’t truly experienced Kensington until you’ve had the Full Monty at Cafe de Fred. This is probably the best breakfast I’ve had anywhere in the world. Not to mention Fred is the best host you could imagine. They always accommodated gluten free and added a personal touch. Can not recommend this place enough!!!!
What a wonderful cafe I stumbled upon to escape the wind and rain. Coming from America I had no idea what a Full Monty or English breakfast was, or a builders tea! Tried to order a coffee but was told I MUST have a tea so I followed orders from the wise gentlemen in the shop.
Could not have been happier and more full. The food was DYNAMITE! Nice to see great prices too where a lot of shops charge an arm and a leg. Spoke with the owner Fred for about 20 minutes on locations around London to visit and what a pleasure it was to meet him. He gave me some INCREDIBLE recommendations that I will be taking my girlfriend to on the rest of my trip.
The entire experience was a highlight and I can’t wait to get back to Earls Court stop to visit him again! 5 stars isn’t enough!

It can be hard to find a decent traditional cafe. I'd walked miles before stumbling across this gem. My omelette was really tasty (salad option also available but it was cold and I needed the carbs), the coffee great and the service super friendly.

We came here twice, and may go back again tomorrow before our flight. A friend recommended this café and we came immediately. We met Fred and Judith, both so friendly. This café is so cute and an intimate restaurant with a homey vibe. Easy to find using google maps, and service is fast.
We got very basic items the first visit – the omelette, the baguette and Americano. So simple and so good, that we told them we'd be back to try the Jacket Potato (cute name lol) which is basically a delicious baked potato, and for the crepe. Jacket Potato was so delicious with Judith's home made chicken curry. We got the savory salmon crepe, aka galette, and then we finished off with a dessert crepe – strawberries, bananas and Nutella. I would say this is the best dessert crepe I've ever had. Judith was so generous with the fruit portions and the Nutella/fruit/crepe ration was really great. We enjoyed our second visit so much we said we'll come back tomorrow for one more breakfast. I'll update with what we get tomorrow!

To be honest, that was amazing. The full English breakfast was so good, I ordered it twice and same treatment for the dessert. The coffee was really good too. A lot of choice. Don't hesitate, just try it.

Tasty chicken escalope in a baguette, home made lasagna and salad, eggs benedict on muffins. All day Traditional Full English Breakfast. Outside tables and friendly service in this Kensington cafe. Meet Fred ! They have great galettes made by Judith ! ( love the Poulet Harissa - roasted chicken, peppers,toms,red onions in harissa sauce, and cheese ). Very near The Design Museum and Holland Park. Today August Ist I had the veggie complete galette with salad and a coffee, and very nice it was . The galettes / crepes ( pancakes ) are gluten free.
Great staff and service, very fair prices, very nice pastries and coffee and the best lasagna I ever had in London by far, you can tell everything is home made, highly recommended.
Cafe de Fred is one of the best places we stumbled upon in our trip to London! I never write reviews but I feel that this place is deserving! The owner is super friendly and food is cozy, even to an American! We got an English breakfast, both my girlfriend and I’s first, and it was amazing. We spoke with Fred about things to do around London and he was super helpful. Just all around an awesome cafe that I hope everyone gets to experience!

The reviews don't lie, this place is a gem! We were looking for a hearty breakfast that was decently priced (unlike the bigger/chain establishments on the High Street) and that's what we got, as well as quick service, a friendly welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. We had two teas, a Full Monty and a Veggie breakfast. Everything was delicious! Look forward to visiting again :)
What a lovely small cafe only steps from the Design Museum! We were served by Fred himself, and we each got a yummy jacket potatoes with filling - cheese, coronation chicken or chili. Tea and coffee were hot and ready quickly. Would definitely recommend.
Fred the owner is friendly, good choice of breakfast, had the full monty which was lively, thick cut bacon, runny eggs, lovely hash browns. Fresh oj as well, definitely recommend.
