Sunday’s is one of my favourite days of the week, winding down before tackling the week ahead. Chowing down on Sunday Roasts in the pub or at home. Part of the Danddlondon‘ s restaurant group. Aster just launched Sunday feast with a luxury buffet style, you get unlimited starters, 1 main meal and unlimited desserts. I’ve been to a few restaurants in the past, Bluebird, Coq d’Argent, Madison, and Plateau. They never seem to disappoint giving 5-star service and solid great tasting food.
Lovely big glass of wine and a shared vegetarian platter had me satisfied and ready to see Hamilton, showing in the theatre next door. The goat’s cheese mousse on the sharing platter is one of the main reasons I'll be b-lining back.
Aster. Is that a viking? Sorry, I think my mind is being polluted by the recent computer attacks. My brain seems to drift as I seem to be thinking of pirates. Maybe because it seems that everyone is being held up by ransomware nowadays. . Bread. So when my friend suggested a new restaurant to try, I was more than game. I needed something to take my mind off the slow degradation into a hostage society, when not only banks but hospitals are held up. This bread basket was just the thing to take my mind off society’s troubles.
Nice place and subtle but pleasant decor. Scallops starter was good, Seafood linguine main was good. The gold ball (pictured) although looked very good was not my favourite, although apparently one of their popular desserts. It is basically a golden dark chocolate ball with a thick chocolate mouse and hazelnut praline ice cream in it, although I could hardly get the hazelnut flavour coming through. The cocktails were ok as well, they could've been stronger in my opinion.
Service was good though, and I was offered a complementary dessert as wasn't happy with my original choice.
Delicious meal in a beautifully designed restaurant - really enjoyed all of the food, wine and service. Pictured is the french onion soup, the cote de boeuf, some sides/sauces and desserts. Everything was spot on!
We went for the Soul Sundays with a 3 course lunch and Sunday roast.
Lovely looking restaurant close to VIctoria Station with a Nordic/French cuisine with the added bonus of great live Soul Music (5/5) on Sundays.
Started with a Aster pork roll, aquavit mustard which is a tasty sausage roll cut into 4 parts and a Roast beetroot, goat’s curd, orange salad which was pleasant.
For mains my partner had the Meatballs with lingonberry jam but opted for roast potatoes instead of mash. While I had the Roast sirloin of beef
served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, chantenay carrots and gravy. My roast had to be returned as it was well done and I asked for medium rare. It was replaced and was flavourful.
Finally my Carrot cake, cream cheese, orange which was a deconstructed version was on par.
Located amongst the new restaurants that have sprung up in and around the Nova development in Victoria, Aster offers Scandinavian dishes in a typically sleek space that’s become a hallmark of D&D group’s recent vintages. There’s a buzzy bar downstairs, with the upper floor set aside for the more sedate diners.
Food wise, we had a sea bass ceviche, cured salmon, and mussels as starters. The mussels were outstanding - as good as any we’ve tried in London. The mains were partridge cooked ever so slightly pink (so not to everyone’s taste) and a saddle of venison - both were good without being outstanding. The most interesting course was desserts - a deconstructed cheesecake that was beyond the server’s valiant attempt to describe it; and a dark chocolate tart served with lingonberry gel drawn like ... blood vessels I suppose.
Perfect for pre or post dining after watching Hamilton at the Victoria Theatre which is next door. The service was attentive, personable and timely.
We mixed and matched from the Al a Cartè and set menu to be able to enjoy all the dishes we wanted. We were there for a birthday and that was catered for as well.

After a certain time upstairs is closed, which was quite disappointing as I envisioned something else. However the service here was amazing, out group moved 3 times until we had comfortable seating. The staff were helpful and extremely nice. The dishes were delicious and presented beautifully, u wish I had taken more pictures.
“Great service and lovely sharing plates”
Came here on a Wednesday. Didn’t need to book. Was greeted nicely by staff who took orders quickly. I’d recommend the goats cheese sharing plate, you get plenty (or more) for 2. We asked for a side of chorizo even tho it wasn’t on the menu. It was no problem.
The riesling wine was lovely - recommend that.
I would come back.
Came here for an anniversary meal before watching halmilton. Staff are fabulous and attentive to every detail.
They have offers on a set menu which is very affordable. They have two floors. We sat upstairs. Very nice decor.
The food was beautiful. Looking forward to coming back.
The brunch was delicious. We were able to sit comfortably for hours enjoying the food ans atmosphere . The cocktails were excellent . The service was good and efficient .
Great decor, lighting and seating.
Quite slow service despite not looking overly busy.
The food was late but we were kept up to date and many extras were provided due to this without prompting.
Delicious food. Very pleasant staff.
Pleasantly surprised with lunch here, food quality definitely matches the decor. The sharing fish platter was refreshing and filling, burgers are also better than average.
I had the pre-theatre meal - it was lovely. If it's only had two courses I would have been done in half an hour, but their speed didn't compromise on quality. The sea bass in particular was perfectly balanced. Lovely
Lovely place. Very tasty menu. They now do live music on weekends
Cozy and pretty environment
Perfect, for groups, couples or also for a drink at the bar
Easy to get a table
Also has a nice terrace outside for sunny days
Really excellent restaurant, Deli, Cafe and Bar. A fusion of Nordic and French cooking Styles. Food is excellent and the coffee is one of the best I've had in London. Highly recommended!
Very good food. The scallops are lovely as well
as the salmon, green beans and asparagus.
