I have had fish and chips in a lot of places but this has to be one of the best outlets out there.
The cod is just so yummy. Fried to perfection. The chips just the perfect crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
This place is an absolute favourite.
Gluten free Tuesdays for the win! Food is delicious, staff are delightful. Sustainablly sourced fish. Make sure you get buckets of the house tartare sauce 👌
The best fish and chips in the south east. Great staff too. The service is great that you don't mind the wait. The fish is cooked to perfection and always tasted great 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Yummy fish & chips to take out or eat in. The eat in closes at 9.30pm so we had to take our fish & chips home. Next time we'll try the eat in menu which is a bit more adventurous than the take away
Brockley Rock - YES. OMG ..... best fish EVER. So fresh and the batter has to be the best I've ever eaten on a fish n chips meal.
Not just a fish n chip shop/restuarant, there's loads more on the menu including grilled fish, a terrific (& huge) fresh salad, whitebait (yum). etc etc
Do go, you'll find a welcoming team of staff, good service & a terrific meal at great value. You may have to wait a little but that's because they cooking freshly to your order.
Goodbye Barnes fish n chips - hello Brockley Rock :)
Brockley's Rock Rocks!. The best fish and chips ever!...I was initially attracted to the shop design...it said 'quality' so I decided to visit the very next time I fancied Fish & Chips'...On arrival the 'ambiance' was as I had hoped...friendly staff and professionally attired chefs. My meal was freshly prepared...and...delicious....still lovely and hot when I got home with it. The fish was so fresh and just falling from the fork....Such a high standard. I predict that Brockley's Rock will become widely known as one of London'ds best fish & chip shops....I urge anyone to try it out....Good luck to them....Sue Martin
I love the fish and chips from here. They are always delicious, portion sizes are generous, and the fish batter is perfectly crispy. My favourite dish is haddock and chips, but the scampi is also delectable.
After reviewing several fish and chips venues, I found the bar has now been reset. The fish was light and flakey. The batter light and not greasy. Tartar sauce is home made and the best I've had. We also tried the calamari, which was large, tasty, and not at all chewy.
Kyriakis and Sotiris are friendly and informative as the different dish types were explained.
Awesome fish n chips!! I wasn’t expecting half a cod, but there it was. Their homemade tartar sauce was TO DIE for. Will be returning the next time I’m in London. :)
Their fish & chips is so good.. always great quality. Normally get chips together, it’s loads. One should be enough for two people.
These chips give life. Fresh and clean
Great serving size. Chips are expensive but it's worth it.
I have been hard pushed to find a competitor for the 3 fish and chip shops I loved as a child which is why I travelled from Anerley to Brockley to see if this fish and chip shop was worthy of being shortlisted for the best fish and chip award shortlist. Yes they were and it seems they had other awards too.
I can't say they were as good as my childhood fish and chips but they were definitely better than a majority of fish and chips I have tasted in London. The haddock was absolutely exquisite, the batter truly is something else. So full of flavour, so light, delicate and crispy and you can taste the oil but the oil is lovely too. The chips I felt had flavour more so than other chips but I felt they needed just a little something else to be great chips.
The food is definitely good value for money and absolutely worth the price you pay both in terms of taste and portion size.
The staff are working so hard, order afrer order comes in from the phone, from Deliveroo and also from an endless queue of people waiting to order not because the staff aren't fast but because the shop is so popular. The staff kept their cool and were very good at personalising our order on the fly.
I think this business is going to have to expand because we also would have loved to sit down to eat ours and we ended up sitting in the car.
Sharon really enjoyed her battered sausage, chips and curry sauce.
Great vegan options too!
Thanks Brockley’s Rock :)
Simply the best fish and chip shop in London but pretty likely the UK. The fish is always fresh and beautifully cooked, great service and really good value for money. The gluten free options are really great too. If you love fish and chips, make sure pay a visit, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had and fish and chips is my favourite meal so I’ve had a fair few!!!! The batter was cooked perfectly, the fish didn’t crumble and fall apart like some fish and chips I’ve had and the homemade tartare sauce is 12/10!! Thank you 😋
Would be nice to have a sit in option!
I came across them by chance through not wanting to go back out again after a busy day at work.
I have never visited this establishment in person BUT all I can say is that my order of haddock and chips arrived in pristine condition and as fresh as if I had ordered in house.
They have a high rating and deservedly so and I also commend their staff politeness and customer service over the phone.... thank you Brockey's Rock. You have won me over and I would recommend you HIGHLY!... and yes I have ordered more times since 😍
All in all food was good. I ordered fish and chips and a breaded roll, and received a brown roll which I’ve never had from a chip shop before, and prefer white bread. So wasn’t too happy. If they are providing white and brown rolls, this should be specified for customers to choose. Very soft though.
Had heard a lot about Brockley’s Rock and it didn’t disappoint! I had always wanted to try a battered sausage but as a lifelong veggie had never been able to - these guys truly offer something that I’ve not seen at any other chippy. Vegan fish was great (10/10 batter), homemade tartare was banging too, large chips was plenty for three and fish was perfect. Can’t recommend enough!
Very delicious! Dining in we selected the seafood platter for 2 and fish (cod) & chips, both meals were great! The calamari and prawns were the highlight on he platter, fish cake was full of flavour, scampi were nice and the whitebait were a little to fishy for me but that what it is... the cod was amazing it was fat piece of fish, flakey and had a very nice and light batter - will eat eat again! Next time I’ll op for takeaway as it is slightly less expensive but dining in was great and lovely staff
Love this place, get their fish and chips quite regularly from here. They have gluten free and vegan options too, as well as homemade tartare sauce. Such delicious crunchy batter...
Good taste but very less quantity of chips even though I paid for two regular packet of chips with two cods. The cods had not been fully cooked. My son did not take a bite. Village fish and chips at shortlands is so much better
