.A big winner for me at this hidden little gem was that part of its wine list comprised of wines from the family vineyard – what I tried was of very good quality.

One of the best Italians in Chelsea, mainly focused on Tuscan cuisine.
The food is delicious and fairly priced and the ambient is very cosy and romantic.
Great wine list, all Tuscan, a bit too overpriced though.

Located in the Chelsea area the Restaurant Il Trillo offers a great selection of typical italian dishes.  The restaurant is a family business, a family who brought the real italian spirit to this venue. The ingredients in the dishes are fresh, organic and natural products. Would recommend to try the Maltagliati Verd pasta with beef and Parmesan( £13) or the Trio Di Sorbetti Mango for dessert( £6).

Il Trillo has obviously took the clandestine approach to its opening the later part of last year, as neither me, or my friends have heard of it. Many of them being locals have neither heard of the street it sits on – Hollywood Road. I too only recently discovered it, and what a great street it is - full of small scale, family run restaurants and wine bars which no one quite knows about.

I was browsing the Michelin guide before I came here, looking for a local restaurant holding a star, or two. Unfortunately for me we are no longer in the recession so everyone seems to be eating at fine dining establishments, before I used to have no problems getting a table when a Pizza Hut buffet was the norm. Il Trillo is the sister restaurant to the family run staple, Massa – situated in the rolling hills of sunny Tuscany. A big winner for me at this hidden little gem was that part of its wine list comprised of wines from the family vineyard – what I tried was of very good quality.

We took a seat in the outdoor/indoor veranda which was very well executed and very romantic – though sadly I'm not the romantic type but can appreciate a pretty room. Food is not particularly cheap here, especially if you get through the traditional four course italian meal the bill can rack up swiftly. An Aperol spritz or two later our first antipasti arrived of mixed baked vegetables, olive oil and buffalo mozzarella. The mozzarella was soft and creamy and olive oil full of flavour - though their was far too much of it and the vegetables soaked it up like a sponge and became for too greasy. It was also far too much for one person to eat so I advise on sharing.

The white onions stuffed with beef, mortadella and herbs, which is then cooked in a white wine Vermentino sauce was heavenly. The onions were sweet and soft, juicy well flavour meat oozed out of the ends though again there was far too much olive oil on the plate, tone that down and this could be a great dish.

All the pasta is handmade here - it makes such a difference and you can really taste authenticity in restaurants these days which put that extra bit of love into their dishes. Beef and thyme ravioli had a lovely well-held together texture and cooked the right side of al dente - the filling was absolutely delicious, but very rich. Just to add even more richness to this dish the whole thing is doused in a meaty, strong flavoured ragu sauce and generous helping of parmesan. We ordered the small sized dish and as you can see, portions are very huge. A solid dish and highly recommendable.

If you want to taste good Italian food without going to Italy this is the place for you. The pasta is homemade and delicious. The place decor is nice, a bit rustic blend with the original Victorian structure of the building. The wine list is excellent although the starting price per bottle is high. Whilst the food is excellent this is not fine dining. What I mean by this is that flavours are intense and good but you will not find different notes and aromas playing on each plate. It stays faithful to Italian cuisine which by default has very intense flavours which mask any other ones that they could have attempted to include. The service is ok. I read some reviews mentioning that they were rude. We did not have that experience, and again the service was not fine dining attentive. So for this price per person you can do fine dining elsewhere and hence why they are not getting the full 5 stars. Lovely traditional Italian food nonetheless.

Had an amazing dinner here last week! The food is absolutely incredible and has far more to offer than just pasta. We had the beef cheek, Ragu rabbit and the fish. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing! The venue additionally has an impressive wine collection The staff were friendly and attentive, leading to top tier service It was a little quiet and so the atmosphere wasn’t the best, although this could have been due it being a cold and rainy evening. They have a lovely area outback which can be uncovered in the summer months I highly recommend Il Trillo and will certainly be back

Love the food !!! Truly impressed . The pasta is obviously homemade , the variety of meat is so great , I tried rabbit , duck and wild boar and all of them were cooked perfectly, that’s not easy at all . If I want to find a little defect , are the desserts , good but nothing tooo special . Definitely will be back !

A Pasta-Lover's Vegetarian Paradise Il Trillo on Hollywood Road is an absolute must-visit for those seeking excellent Italian food in London, especially vegetarians and pasta lovers. Their willingness to adapt their menu to accommodate dietary preferences is praiseworthy. In particular, the customized pasta without cheese or cream, enhanced with vegetables and truffle, was a delight. Complementing the great food is the friendly staff who create a welcoming and warm dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Il Trillo for anyone seeking to enjoy great pasta and a versatile menu that caters to diverse dietary requirements. Five stars all the way!

Beautiful little Italian restaurant with a fantastic menu - not a single miss on the dishes we ordered. Wine menu was extensive. Service was passable. Overall very great find in an unassuming residential area of Kensington!

Excellent meal and service at Il Trillo. The restaurant is beautiful as is the wine menu and food. We started with plates of truffle mortadella, Parma ham and artichokes. The meats are so finely cut and melt in your mouth, and the artichokes are a favourite too. The pastas are all freshly made and excellent, and we ordered three sides of spinach. A really relaxing vibe and the staff were brilliant.

I visited Il trillo few days before Christmas for having a quiet dinner. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were really surprised. It looked really nice. The waitress walked us to our table which was in the garden. The garden is even more beautiful with a romantic atmosphere. We ordered some mortadella with tartufo which I really raccomand as it was really tasty and particular. It was really appreciated by my boyfriend and me. As starter I ordered the poached egg, truffle, violet cabbage and home made hollandaise sauce. Honestly I wasn’t crazy about that but it is just my personal taste. As main, I ordered Pappardelle pasta with wild boar ragout. They were delicious and super tasty. I totally raccomand that dish. My boyfriend ordered smoked Angus beef carpaccio and veal loin, braised escarole and mandarin puree. Both dishes were good! Overall my feedback is really positive, first of all for the quality of the food and for the atmosphere/location of the restaurant. Moreover all the team members were friendly and professional. The only negative point I could see is the service was a bit slow, however, we were not in a rush so we enjoyed our quiet dinner with good glass of wine while we where waiting for our food.

Lovely and accommodating staff. I had the “Pici Toscani” which was absolutely delicious and different from the usual pasta you get everywhere else. Makes me want to go back in a heartbeat.
