Had ordered a beef roll, a combo meal, masala chai and a chicken roll, was super delicious. The price is just right.
Amazing place in London. I love the food. can’t wait to come back here again. Congratulations to the staff.
Very cute concept where one can have the best food and drinks in a very fine ambience with a very friendly and professional staff not to mention the prompt and punctual service as well .
Excellent Indian street food - far better fare than is available at far more expensive restaurants. Kathi rolls and chat are highly recommended and are an authentic reflection of what one would get in Indian streets. Highly recommended!
This place is ideal for grabbing a quick bite when you are tight on budget and want to have a filling meal. Amazing omelettes and rolls with delicious taste and great quantity. The seating area is limited and people visit mostly for takeaway. Recommended!
The Kati Roll Company offers some delicious rolls in veg and non veg. I prefer the unda chicken roll and the achari paneer roll. They go perfectly well with canned soda. Highly recommend this place for a quick snack.
Here is very ideal for quick lunch. Normally I don't like Indian cuisine but I wanted to try Kati because of its score. Inside is a little bit stuffy. It's customers are generally Indians as far as I see. Serving is self-service.
🍽Chicken Tikka Roll: Firstly, serving size is really small. You should eat 2 or 3 roll to fill properly. Taste is not bad but I wish there was no onion roll inside. I think onion doesn't going well with spicy chicken. And you should consider that it is a little bit hot. Price is 4.25£
Serves one of the most amazing and delicious kathi rolls in the city. I love each and every roll they serve. The drinks are also very nice. Recommended
This is the first Indian roll I ate in London and hands down the best. I have only eaten the chana masala roll here and it is amazing. The best part is the roti (bread) which is really light and crisp. 1 roll will not fill you up though, it is just a light snack (for me usually late night)
The kati roll company reminded me of my college days in India. When I used to have less money and the only option I had was to eat roll everyday.
A friend of mine took me here coz I was craving Indian kaathi rolls! And what a delight.
A typical small Indian cafe style place. I had the egg roll and the chana roll and both were very authentic Indian and yummmy!! Loved it. my only disappointment was with the portion size which can be bigger for sure. The masala chai was great too.
Finger licking rolls, loved the flavours.
The chicken tikka roll and the beef roll were delicious. For all those craving Bombay street food this is worth a try! Definitely request them to make the rolls extra spicy it makes a world of a difference!
Quietly Bollywood posters welcome you at th4 restaurant and the loo it's like an oasis for an Indian looking for desi style anda and chicken rolls in the middle of glitzy Soho street eateries. Price is reasonable but quantity isnt so ensure you order more then 1.. no complaints.. you don't get anda roll that easily anyways
At first glance, the place does not look spacious but it is. The ambiance is great, with Indian music playing overhead and Bollywood posters lining the wall. The food is great but the size of the Parantha could be bigger, considering how much we pay for it. The Mango Lassi is very refreshing and everyone should try it!
This place did not disapoint! Don't let the shabby interior of the shop put you off, the team clearly know how to pack flavour into perfect kati rolls! Between us we tried the chicken tikka (got an awesome kick to it), paneer (healthy portion and pickle garnish) and beef (perfectly spiced and melt in your mouth).
I got two rolls and a bottle of water for £10, brilliant value for money.
Can't wait to go back and try out more of the menu!
The yummylicious kati roll, i had ordered for mix vegetable roll n achaari paneer roll. Both were delicious n the place is decorated wd bollywood themes, ambience is different . Gud service. Wud luv to visit this place again n will surely recommend to friends.
What can be a better experience to have found Indian food in streets of London. This was a place worth to be tried by every Indian and devour the Indian delicious rolls.
Came here during lunch hour on a Tuesday. And boy was it busy! We just managed to grab a table. I ordered the chickpea wrap and dad ordered the chicken. We were both super impressed by the flavours. Such a simple delicious concept! Would love to go back when I'm next in London.
Only criticism is the size. I probably could've eaten 2 wraps. 1 wrap is good for a light lunch or snack :)
Kati Roll is a popular dish among kolkata, the stuffing is served inside a roti and served as a roll.
If some someone is visiting this place must try the panner roll and the mango lassi. The ambience is very good with Bollywood posters all aroundd.
Whenever i miss india i just walk in there. The ambiance the food makes me feel at home. The rolls tastes good and are freshly made. My fav is chicken kathi roll
This place is a savior anytime. Boy I could eat atleast two rolls here. Do try it with the masala chai that they serve. Oh so refreshing!
And yes all of this at a pocket friendly rate!
Beautifully themed restaurant serving a wide variety of kati rolls for all to enjoy. There are a few vegetarian options too. I would recommend ordering two each unless you aren't that hungry. There is much seating inside, but very close to Soho Square to sit outside & enjoy in the summer.
Just what we needed after a long trip from France and getting drenched in the rain. The Bollywood themed decor is fabulous. The only downside is the lack of seating available. There are only few tables since it's a small shop and it tends to get crowded during evenings.
The rolls were actually pretty good. We ordered two rolls with a pint of beer each and gobbled it up in no time. The pricing is decent, with an average of 5 pounds per roll. Worth a try if you're missing the rolls back home.
Had this everyday of my stay at London. So much so that the woman behind the food counter asks me "hey u back here dahling!". When the food is that good, one can't resist going there all the time (yeah I know). Really helped me with the need for spice I had.
I loved the rolls here. Delicious with Indian taste. Spicy and for people who miss Indian food. Casual ambience. Usual place to eat a quick meal.
If you wanna have quick snack), I wold say go here and grab one roll🌮 here they prepare very good and awesome food and they place it small. They filled all the walls with very old indian movies posters like don , mother India , sole and many more . Looks old small shop but they have very good rolls 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
When you are hungry then you can find places to eat anywhere, same story we found this place for quick bite. We ordered achari paneer and mix veg roll. Little bit disappoinment when saw the size because we use to eat bit large then this. However it's good and yummm.
For the people who love to take a quick bite just with added Indian Flavour, a must try place when you are missing back your home in London.
The location of this place is quite good and I did it ideal for a quick bite when you are tired shopping on Oxford Street. They offer good options for vegetarians as well which is always welcoming. Loved the quality of Kati rolls, although if you are really hungry one is not enough. I had the chicken tikka and the aloo masala ones and loved them both. To top it off, they do the best masala chai! Made my day😃 will go here again and again and oh yes, it's very pocket friendly.
It’s always a delight to find authentic Indian food served in London and this joint tucked away right in the vicinity of Oxford Street is a true delight for the Kolkata craving. Kathi rolls were made famous by the Nizam’s restaurant in Kolkata before it spread all over the country and now right here in London this place is the closest you can get to that homely taste. I tried Paneer Achari(the most recommended), chicken tikka, egg chicken and beef egg. The tea was remarkably Indian in character. And above all the decor. It had a kolkata tea shop meets dhaba feel to it. This is surely going to be a regular for me now!
A perfect place if you're looking to have something full of Indian flavours!
They've got a wide variety of rolls to try from, and they offer a lot of vegetarian options as well. The spice levels can match up to that of India. Great value for money!
A small and cozy place with great rolls..must visit for Indians craving for some Indian food..simple yet delicious food sums it up. Very economical ..we tried Aloo Masala Roll and Mandal Chai, perfect combo ! A quick , healthy food option in the heart of London..
They managed to get the indian flavors spot on. The rolls are exactly like the ones you get on the streets of delhi. I would recommend to have the cobra beer with the rolls.
For two people on a hunt for good Indian street food around London, this place was amazing. The Masala Tea specially is amazing, the Rolls that we ordered were fresh, nicely served and the ambiance is pretty great too. It has old Indian movies decor and it very thoughtfully spaced, a small but accommodating place. The wait staff was friendly and gave us good recommendations. This place wasn't hard on the wallet also. DEFINITELY GO THERE.
I have made frequent visits to this outlet after a long shopping day at oxford or bond street. Although a small place the interior is decorated with old Hindi movie poster which gives it a regal look. My all time fvrt unda chicken roll and Shami kabab roll , the meat is cooked well ,juicy and tender.Although it has one page menu you will see this place crowded !! Must must try out place in London.
Was taken here by a friend who loves the rolls here. Didn't have great expectations but it changed once I tasted the rolls. The only place in London which makes authentic Indian rolls. Swanky Bollywood posters and great rolls, this place is a must visit. Do try the achari paneer roll, it's one of their best.
Great little joint tucked away in Soho for cheap street indian eats // we tried the shami kebab and paneer roll. Two was surprisingly filling. I'd definitely come back for a quite bite and recommend the place to others.
I love the environment and this dish. My friends and I always come here every month. Other dishes are good as well...........................

Good. Love the variety on offer. Perfect for snacking and also for binge eating. Rolls offered on roti and paratha and you get the traditional masala tea too. Thankfully they serve it without sugar so you can add sugar to your liking and if you are like me, not even bother.
However I must admit that over the years I feel the wraps gotten smaller. But they still manage to keep it tasty which is important!
Whenever in Soho and need to grab a bite, I can only think of Kati roll company. Piping hot, scrumptious and pocket friendly, these rolls are delicious, taste very desi (authentic) and are a great option if your running short of time and still want to fill your stomach. Two Kati rolls suffice my cravings and hunger pangs.
I was satisfied to the brim with the paneer , Chana masala and aloo masala Kati roll and every visit here left me happy :)!
Great Indian place with quick bites at reasonable prices! The paneer roll and the shami kebab roll were delicious and filling. The server at the till was also really friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. I've also found out that they deliver via Just Eats so I'll have to have a delivery soon!

Lil place with a hint of Bollywood. The rolls are well made and delicious. Both veg and non veg varieties are available. The chai is great too!
Good value and great snack/quick bite option. The unda beef roll is generously filled with tender, well seasoned meat and I find that the roti is more pleasing than most places tortillas. The texture is softer and the wrap itself, thinner. I do think that the wrap itself is filled with a bit too much meat relative to any salad or sauces that could also find home in a wrap.
This place is great. Delicious food, nice vibe, and that Indian feeling. you can sit inside or take out and eat while you walk through the buzzing street in London. We prefer to have it there only. I recommend the Achari Paneer and mix Veggie roll. Great option for a quick bite.
Awesome taste n concept
Achari Paneer Roll with Mint chutney &
Mango Lassi a must try
Always love coming here
Pure Indian taste in Hub of central London
A good affordable yummy option for Kathi kebab lovers in London.
Service is quick. If you are lucky you get a place to sit or just take away the roll.
Chicken tikka role - must try !!
Shammi mutton role - was a bit dry from inside. Could have been better.
They serve chutneys for 25p, which must be added to the roll to enjoy them to the fullest :)
This small joint deserves all the praise for bringing a very popular Street Food from India to central London.
Kati Roll Company is a good and relatively healthy option on a budget. The interiors are adorned with retro Indian posters, and they play Bollywood music to keep up with the vibe.
My usual favorites are the Chicken Tikka Roll or Shammi kebab roll and if I feel like eating something vegetarian the chana masala roll. The Alphonso Lassi and the chai are worth a try too. Hop skip jump to this place while you around the area, it's definitely worth a culinary visit Keep Gobbling xx
Dear Diary,
Who doesnt fancy a good kathi roll? Everyone does! And it doesnt get better than @thekatirollcompany ! It's affordable, it's yumm and it's just off oxford road! Once you get super tired shopping, just pop in and grab a yummy roll! The must haves are the Aloo Masala, Achari Paneer and the Chicken Tikka Roll and club it with their Mango Lassi which will ease the spiciness of the masalas. It's a tiny joint and might be hard to spot. Fully bollywood themed and totally reminds you of home!
Never thought I'd find something so close to perfect Indian Kathi Rolls in London. Well, I did! This is one awesome place to go when you are hungry after attending seminars! My personal favourite is Chicken Tikka roll here. It tastes great, is student budget friendly, fast service, friendly hosts, everything about this place is perfect.
Great food great price great atmosphere !!
Nothing but good food
Chicken Tikka Roll is a Must
And the Mix Veg roll too!
Wasn't busy so got a seat immediatley
Easily the highlight of my London trip.. the achari paneer was amazing .. had the right ingredients the panner was super soft .. freshly made as advertised .. had 2 of them back to back .. but the channa masala one was not to my liking as it was too much masalaish.. the Alphonse mango lassi was great to top it all up .. keep it up .. great getting the same taste like India back in UK..
Finally found a place that it so Indian, smack in the middle of London. The faded bollywood posters on the wall are a nice touch. There is not much seating space but this place has the best rolls. Don't miss this!
I tried the chicken tikka roll and shami kebab roll when I ate in. Both were really good rolls, not amazing. But the prices are good and if you are in the area, it would be a great quick takeaway option.
The menu was pretty interesting . It was a totally semi Desi place. After being there I actually felt like I was visiting some place in India. It has posters from different Bollywood movies stuck on the walls which was quite impressive . The rolls were good but had too much oil. I tried chicken egg roll. Its pretty economical. Good if you want to have some desi flavoured rolls once in a while.
Tried the 'Unda roll' and it left me craving for more. The restaurant gives you the feeling of dining at a typical "dhaaba" in India.
Only negative was that the price doesn't do justice to the portion size. But well, that's London for you!
Would surely recommend.
Great value for money and very good quality rolls .Located close to Oxford street and highly recommend Shami Kebab roll with Chai .Do give it a shot and have decent options for Veggies too .
I love cheap food. Kati rolls are cheap. I'm a happy customer. I don't think I could eat this every day, though, because the rolls are kind of oily. But I do like spicy food, and it's nice to wash it down with some lassi. Definitely go here if you're looking for a quick lunch that won't break bank.
The restaurant itself has a kitschy, hole-in-the-wall vibe to it, which I like. I can imagine a lot of hipsters coming here at 1030 to grab a bite of "ethnic cuisine" before they sneak off onto a rooftop to vape and read Kerouac to each other.
I never thought I would actually enjoy the food here since I'm not usually fond of heavy Indian food. However, the rolls were so light without compromising on the Indian flavouring. I had the chicken tikka roll paired with a cup of masala chai on the side. It was absolutely perfect!
The Kati Roll Company is a very interesting place. It takes on the traditional Indian cuisine with a hip urban twist. The wrap was very good, light, and flavourful. The sizes could be a bit bigger but next time I am in London, I will definitely make a stop here!
What a sweet little place - the ambience such as the walls filled with old Hindi movie posters and Indian music blaring out the speakers - really adds to the atmosphere! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Roll and the Paneer Roll and they both were delicious. Not too dry and not too soggy. They were good for the price. The seating however, was not really comfortable. It's a quick bite but not an actual meal.
Authentic Kathi Rolls. I would recommend Aloo Masala and Mix Veggie rolls with extra chutney. They also serve masala tea which is not great but decent taste (do not expect the actual masala chai taste in India)
The place is small but hygienic and they have wet tissue papers as well which is good. Can't wait to visit again.
For me, it was 4.5 on taste and ambience.
I can already tell this is going to be one of my new favourite places. I was lucky to be with my partner so opted for the 2 for offers on the paneer and mixed veg. They both tasted great! The paneer was delicious and the mixed veg was spiced perfectly.
I can't wait to return to try the plain roll and the rest of the menu. I think 2 rolls would be best for a filling meal. But the price is still great.
I've had them in-house and I've had them at my house, the quality never compromises. They travel super well by the way.
Shrimp Masala is definitely a must, you cannot go to Kati Roll without trying this legend. It'll be confusing at first, you may not understand what's happening, but you will definitely enjoy the ride.
Another must? That. Mango. Lassi. Made with fresh mango pulp and organic fresh yogurt, this is the only drink (apart from water) that you should consume. Ever. So fresh, so well made.
I tried the vegetarian, it's good, not great, but good. Worth a taste.
They are so humble here, they know they serve a quality product but it doesn't get to their heads, they are all about quality and produce.
The kati roll is basically a 'roti' or unleavened bread with a filling of meat curry or vegetables, it's very tasty and theirs taste like the ones sold on Bombay streets. Think of it as an Indian wrap. Strong masala chai, or tea to wash the roll down,
If you are into street food, and love Indian food, enjoy excellent morsels of meat wrapped in Indian flat bread (parantha), or, kati rolls here. It's actually as good as it gets, got me filled with nostalgia.
Never thought they have kathi rolls so good in london. With quintessentially bollywood ambience and music... this place is a must visit. Limited variety of rolls... but taste as good as that rolls from the streets of kolkata.
Personal favourite: unda shami
Tip: ask for chutney and add it in your roll for extra spice and flavour
Visited Kati Roll by recommendation from a friend. Although I came at 3pm, way past the lunch rush, there were several orders in front of me and I ended up waiting about 10 minutes...so it crushed my hopes for a quick bite en route home. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the beef tikka roll- great flavours coated the meat, which was wrapped in an authentic paratha. Wasn't too oily or messy to eat on the bus (sorry fellow passengers for the mouthwatering smell) and stayed hot in its packaging. Kati roll also offers a 10% student discount! Hurrah! Would definitely recommend getting 2 wraps for a meal.
Kati roll serve up some tasty Indian rolls that are great for lunch or dinner. The little restaurant is super casual. Vibrant and shabby with an authentic Indian feel. Peeling remains of old skool Bollywood star posters are scattered around on the bright orange walls, and Indian music sets the scene.
A simple but brilliant place. They make excellent Kati Rolls. My friend from Hong Kong loved their Rolls and became a frequent visitor on his own. All their rolls are very good but their Mutton Shami Roll is the reason I was a regular.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Please do try the Mutton Shami Roll.
It's a Small outlet serving kati rolls , desi food, chicken and shrimp rolls. It's a walking distance from Oxford Street tube station and it is super crowded on Fridays.
Very famous amongst desi foodaholics and there do serve Amazing kati rolls. They also serve decent vegetation stuff. Aloo achari was great.
The best mango lassi is to die for must try for sweet lovers.
Nice preparation.. Munching evening snack when you are craving for Indian in London.. Budget friendly.. Desi ambience.. Good for vegetarians..
I feel its the British version of kathi roll. Miss tht indian masla flavour. But not bad. Its just gr8 with crabbies .. tht too on a typical british summer day
This hidden gem is amazing when you feel like munching or need an evening snack. The environment is quite desi and the prices are quite economical. If you are really hungry then you will need at least 2 rolls to fill your stomach. Options for vegetarians are available too.
Recommendation- try the chicken tikka and the unda chicken roll with their green chutney .
Was a long day of book hunting for uni and whilst in Picadilly Circus I thought, why not pop down to Soho to that Kati Roll Company everyone's been talking about? .......Don't mind if I do!!
Very easy to find and small place with a constant flow of people. The cashier recommended a Chicken Tikka and for two rolls and a healthy bottle of water it came up to under a tenner! Bargain! But, is the food up to standard??
They arrived and although they look small they are filling!!! Chicken was cooked perfectly ensuring there was a slight crisp on the outside and tender meat inside, the spices never overpowered the chicken or the roti wrap bread.
My only downfall to this was the cashier kept trying to invite me out and even disrupted my lunch to talk about a club, not my perfect idea of a quiet lunch in solitude but the food more than made up for it!!
Interesting place, not big and might need to wait 10 mins + for your kati roll to be prepared but worth it, my personal favourite was unda chicken and chana masaala roll and chai, definitely worth a trip
I've heard of The Kathi Roll Company from my friends in NYC. I knew they had a branch in London and loads of my friends swore by the no fuss cheap as chips eatery.
Who doesn't like a good kathi roll after a few pints with your mates (or just anytime)? I did exactly that and I was not dissapointed.
I ordered the chicken tikka roll and the shami kebab roll. They are quite small and if you are hungry then please go for two. Both rolls were very tasty (and greasy) in a paratha drenched in oil. If you're health conscious then this may not be ideal for you. The meat was cooked perfectly and the spice level was good (I am personally not fond of very spicy food).
For an average of £4 a roll this is a really cheap meal. An absolutele must try if you're in the area and hankering for an Indian snack/meal. The interiors add to the ambeience of being in a bad Bollywood movie. What's not to like?
have been to this place twice. . nice and tasty rolls. . service ia good. . They still could spice the place up. but a nice snacks place. .
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Simple...pick your roll, pick a drink (try their authentic masala karak chai) and sit down to enjoy the most comforting food ever!! Each roll is made using fresh chapatis which are then stuffed with your choice of traditional filling (Shami kebab, chicken tikka, spicy paneer, Shami kebab with anda...I could Go on). With a sister restaurant in New York, Kathi Roll has taken Soho by storm. For those who have been here once, they return time and time again. We come here every time we are in town. A Must Try for a simple and fulfilling pit stop for lunch or before or after a night out!
After a long day I trotted reluctantly to kati roll. Trust me I was tired, miserable and hungry and ordered the egg roll and the vegetable roll. I was already unhappy with the seating as it was really dirty and lots of food bits were scattered across the floor. I didn't expect anything good and it was crowded. The wait was long but the roll was amazing and I believe the best I ever tasted. It made my bad day subdued for now as I munched on the rolls that had so much can flavour and played havoc with my taste buds. Going again and my guest had the chicken roll and was equally spellbound.
Worth every single pound spent. Quick get in & get out. The theme is Bollywood, the sitting is average only if they had more space. But we all know the rentals in Soho. The kebab rolls are good prepared & roll right in front of u. Perfect 15 walking from Oxford St.
This place does exactly what it was meant to do.good descent spread of chapattis rolls. they serve quiet tasty and is a good place to pick up some quick lunch or a quick bite. the place is located in the middle of oxford street and is quite popular. they have made a name for themselves over the years a quick pick up and filling lunch. You have the option of picking up or have the option sit n dine. the rolls are quite tasty bursting with flavour. The chai that you get here is quite good too. the interiors can be a little bit more spic and span.food - 4service - 3.75location and menu - 4
HALAL!! little place with a huge appetite. Big flavours from a small place. Some of the best rolls that remind you of back home. Not a huge place to sit in although its pretty quick eat and go. Can be very busy as its right next to oxford street. However its a must try place. Love it.
1. Small menu but great choice of various kinds of non veg and vegetarian rolls.
2. We tried paneer roll and Chana rolls both were excellent.
3. Shami kebab roll is also good.
4. Place is little small with basic furniture but location near Oxford street is very convenient just 5 minutes from tube station.
5. It is self service and you can get good Indian style masala chai (tea).
6. Value for money. £4 for 1 roll and less than 8 for 2 which is a sufficient quantity for one person.
Wow...what ab egg roll and a super duper channa masala roll, the place is small, nice and well decorated..must visit for all the roll lovers and also for the ones who done love rolls yet
Great food but stingy on the portions. Generally good service and well made masala chai. Shami kabab roll recommended. Traveled a fair bit to get here but well worth a visit. Or two.
Hole in wall off New Oxford Street, and what a place! Cheap eats and a good selection of Kathi rolls. Cooked in true desi style with lots of lime, coriander and onions with your choice of paratha or roti breads. The Masala Shrimp roll seems to be their signature offering and rightly so. If you need a quick foodgasm after hours of shopping, this is the place!
A great alternative to curry and/or lunch, the Kati Roll Company offers a simple menu of flavour packed Indian wraps. Ranging from £2.75 to £5 for one or £5 to £9.50 for two or even the ability to mix and match to your taste, the street food rolls are good value for money. The little katis pack a big punch and something for all tastes, from egg or paneer for the veggies to minced-lamb or tiger shrimp for the carnivores. Lovely stuff.
Yum Yum YUMMMM!
The Kati Rolls here were awesome! For those of you who haven't even tried a Kati Roll before, this is a great place to check it out!
I would recommend the Unda Shami Roll (egg and lamb). The Paneer Roll (cheese) is another good option, and this goes perfect with the mango lassi they serve. These rolls are perfectly wrapped in a fluffy paratha flatbread.
This place isn't a proper sit down restaurant, but more like a Bombay cafe. Food is GOOD!
Kati roll (or Paratha roll as it is known in Pakistan) is a very popular street food in South East Asia. I remember going to this popular paratha roll place in my college days in Lahore, Pakistan just opposite Liberty Market. It was a dhaba style ‘restaurant‘ where you parked your car and enjoyed the most delicious, cheesy, moorish, meaty freshly made paratha roll you would’ve had.
Kati roll is the closest I can get to that in London. I’ve been going here for the last 5 years at least! The consistency, quality and taste is still commendable. Paratha’s (fried rotis) filled with a variety of fillings from vegetarian options to really meaty ones. And the best thing is- it’s super easy on the pocket! Always great for a cheap date ;) haha
My all time favourite is the Anda Shami Roll (I used to make these when I was little and they are the best!!) and the Aloo Roll. The chutney on the side is all you need. For all those crazy shopping days in Central London and looking for a place to hide away and eat?! Look no further!
I believe the only kathi roll place in central London . One can find good vegan options .
Tired the Chana masala and the achari planner roll which was above average . The achari paneer roll lacked the achari or spicy flavor and the Chana masala roll was slightly overstuffed .
The interiors were so so .
But a good option for vegetarians, specially when bored of having burgers and sandwiches around.
Ambience: Vintage with old bollywood posters in middle of london. Go there.
Best eat: The shami kebab roll is most recommended. The taste is almost consistent with every visit.
It's a quirky little place in the city centre. Of course I am biased to this place as I am from Calcutta and it's known for its street food. So when I got to know that you can get Kati Rolls in London - I could not give it a miss.
When I walked through the doors of this tiny cafe for the first time many years ago, I felt at home immediately. Some quirky old film posters on a gritty looking bright orange wall and an eclectic mix of worn down looking furniture - sounds horrendous but it adds to the quirks of the place.
As of the rolls - I've always only tried the non- vegetarians. They are not exactly the Kati rolls one would get in Calcutta, in fact I would say they are a pale imitation. However, they're not massively far off from the concept. I have had some other Indian wraps that don't remind me of the 'rolls' as these ones do. Once in a while when I crave street food - this is where I head for. The rolls come with onion and mint chutney in it. I ask for mine to be made spicy as the regular ones lack the heat I am looking for. I recommend it to those who have the appetite for trying new things. And one thing this place definitely delivers is - flavour.
Outstanding Indian rolls in the centre of London..rustic ambience with posters of old Bollywood movies all over the place...and a great variety of rolls like you get back home..must do Indian foodie experience if you're in london
I was walking around in Piccadilly Circus, trying to get to my 10,000 steps on Fit. And then I got really hungry. I got on to Zomato to find someplace that was not Pret or Eat that I could get something quick, easy and to take away and something that was not pizza.
Got this one near Oxford Circus and went there.
Wowza.
Loved the paneer kathi roll. Extra chutney is a must. :)
I wanted to try the chai and mango lassi but saving it for another trip with my husband. :)
Yummy chicken rolls. Perfect when you want a light bite in the West End.
Chicken Rolls Awesome!!!. Authentic regional food like chicken rolls I had em 10 yrs ago in Calcutta .. this place took me back there .. great value and extremely tasty!!!
Carina
Both rolls were delicious and a perfect light lunch in such baking heat. The potato was fluffy, and lightly spiced, setting your tongue dancing without leaving your lips stinging and was perfectly complimented by the tangy and sour onion pickle. I will admit to having the moment of inconsolable sadness when the roll was finished and was
Kati Roll is just off of Oxford Street, in between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road. Their orange walls are plastered with old Hindi movie posters and classic 70’s Bollywood music plays in the background and you can order old-school mango soft drinks like Maaza.
... this soho eatery is incredibly cheap and very tasty. it is also one of the many wrap places that populate london's quick, cheap, food-to-go options. a kati roll is a sub-continental inspired wrap
...but the minced lamb with egg is a thing of beauty and possibly one of the finest things to munch on as you stride down chilly Soho streets.
Basically the kati rolls are wraps made of warm paratha bread around various combos of meat, egg, vegetables and cheese. I had the Shami Kabab roll which contained spicy, herby, wonderful minced lamb.
The Kati Roll Company (KRC) [1] is a New York chain of restaurants offering Indian wraps based on a street food originating from Kolkata in India [2]. A kati roll is defined as a flatbread wrapping a mixture of spiced meat and vegetables. Mooli’s is a rec
Tasty Indian wraps, spicy and full of flavour, you get a feeling your in India once you enter the place, the walls are covered with Indian scripts and I guess Bollywood celebs. I really wanted to try the masala Chai but was full.
The best Indian wraps you will find in the city, accompanied by the best mango lassi in the town. The wraps are authentic and the food is real value for money. You can leave this place feeling full but spending nothing more than 5 GBP. The food is slightly spicy though, so watch out if that's not your thing.
Good place, tasty food n very much cost friendly... My favourite here has been only chicken tikka roll!! I like the option to buy two which is much more cheaper as compared to buying only one roll!!
Good food. Not too expensive! Prime location and smiling face behind the counter. Although the chutney is unnecessarily priced at £0.20, if overlooked, great evening altogether. Love the ambience though! :)
Efficient, Affordable and Tasty - these three attributes perfectly define this place. The efficiency aka quick service can be a thumbs down during rush hour when once you get the food in hand the inconvenience and irritation caused fades away. I have tried almost all of their vegetarian rolls, I particularly like the Acahri Paneer Roll. Please try the green chutney for extra fun and spice.
Brilliant food and the price is very reasonable. Takes you back to India with such great taste. The service is very friendly and though it is small the place feels like home
Simply the most delicious India wraps you will ever have. Value for money is outstanding. This place is a must try. I went there with 4 friends and we all enjoyed the food a lot.
Great place for a quick bite! Offers a good number of options for vegetarians too, which is a huge plus. Have been visiting this place since 2009 and the food has been consistently good!
A great place for a quick lunch or take away.
The menu is based around this North indian Wrap called Kathi Roll which is simply a roll which has different interior flavours and proteins. I ordered the chicken tikka roll, it was small but tasted extremely authentic and was really worth the time. The vast amount of vegetarian options also catered to my friend. The food was really authentic, the insides were spicy and tasteful.
The cafe, quick bite minimalist interior is explained by the importance they put on the food itself. It was quite busy when I went which made the service slow but it was nothing that I couldn't overlook.
Great food, good value. But....service was really really slow.. Conveniently located near Oxford Circus, Kati Roll offers up authentic and delicious rolls priced reasonably (especially for Oxford Street!) that will make you want to try every one on the menu. The ambiance is good feel like to be in INDIA..
A nice place in London's Oxford Street if you want to taste flavours of India. The place itself is small but very friendly. Ambiance is Bollywood themed with posters of super hit Indian movies pasted on wall.
Rolls are quite good and help you recover from the longing of spicy Indian food. It is also one of the place where you can find Kingfisher on the menu.
Definitely a place to go if you are in London and looking for a quick munch.
I love Indian food and I did not want to spend too much on my lunch as I was travelling and that was my last day in the city. I went in there and asked the waiter to get me the best roll that they offer , He came up with Chicken unda roll , which was the most delicious Indian cuisine I ever had . Everything that was used in it was so fresh and tasty that I happened to order one more.
I will surely come visit this place again when I'm in the city.
The Kathi rolls(like small Indian burritos... sort of) served here are a super savory punch of flavor and really satisfying. A small meal or substantial snack for under £4, or a solid meal of two rolls for around £6. I ordered chicken tikka and it was just mouth watering. Filling of crunchy onion pickle, soft wheat parantha (though you can get a roti, which is baked, if you prefer), tangy chicken... just the right amount of grease to make it tasty but not greasy or heavy. My only complaint was their slow service, but certainly this would not stop me from coming to this place again and again.
When I was hit with my very first craving of Indian cuisine while in London, I was certain that this was one place I had to definitely try. Much to my surprise, I had an enjoyable evening.
This place has a wide variety of almost all Indian delicacies which are served to the patrons with much delight.
The modern twist to the traditional Indian dishes is something that made me fall even more in love for this place. For the price paid, I left the place as a happy customer who had also devoured on the generously served chicken tikka roll.
This place is definitely worth a visit!
This place serves some of the best Kathi Rolls in the city. Kathi rolls are Indian breads, rolled up with meat or vegetable filling inside. This restaurant specialises in Kathi rolls, and has the most authentic Indian ambiance. It has both dine-in and takeaway options. The service is decently fast, but the wait is worth the taste. I ordered the Chicken tikka roll, and it was served so hot, spicy and flavoursome. The rolls are pretty inexpensive, and the place is great. If you are an adventurous foodie like me, you should definitely try it.
This place is great if you crave Indian food. The vegetable and meat rolls here are great and served inside Roti or Paranthas. The place has a nice feel to it too, with some nice music , and the walls covered in Bollywood movie posters from the 80s and 90s. They some some great Chai too. The only letdown was that the chutneys don't come complimentary withe the wraps, as in most other places.
The wraps served here were delicious. It is said that they are Indian street food, and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste. The wraps take long to get prepared, but the wait ensures that they will be served fresh and hot to you. The wrap consists of spicy, fresh, tender meat with some vegetables to add a zing to the taste. For the vegetarians, there are other options available.
Ordered a Paneer Roll at this place which was very authentic and adding to the upside it was value for money around £4 per wrap. They serve bottled beer, three under £10. The only reason I would not give it 5/5 is that it is a fast food cafe and does not give a restaurant experience!
This place is not at all expensive so it will give you great deal with food which is going to be tasty undoubtedly.
I had Chicken tikka roll and it was amazing!
The service is also very good , the waiters are going to be attentive all the time and will greet you with a big smile on your face.
I would love to go here again and would recommend it to you guys too.
Thanks to some unknown person's tweet ,i found this place just in time after my shopping spree. The toilet downstairs is big advantage and the place has really accommodating seating arrangement.
Though the place might not look so important on the outside , the simple short menu of different stuff rolls and chai is good.
The interiors are interesting given the Bollywood feel lent to it by the yesteryear posters which is all painted!
The best fast food joint according to me in the area!
It a pretty small joint serving some really authentic and yummy kathi rolls with a varied selection of filling to chose from. I tried the chicken tikka and lamb ones and I have to say both tasted superb! I would say chicken is my personal favorite and if you want more of protein with heavy filling go with egg! 8 pounds for 2 rolls is also good value for money.
The ambiance of this place is bright and unique, with bright orange walls and Bollywood posters on them. The tables and chairs also have a tattered, worn-out look, which compliments the entire decor of the place. The place serves Indian cuisine, by way of flavorful wraps called Kati rolls. The rolls are delicious and quite appetizing. The staff is friendly and the overall atmosphere of the place is very lively. The food is available for both eat-in and take-out option. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
A decent quick bite Indian restaurant in London.
They serve delicious rolls that are decently priced and generous in quantity and quality. The crowd mostly consists of Asians that proves the authenticity of the restaurant. The service is prompt, not as quick as American food chains but not slow either.
Though this place serves some delicious rolls and amazing chicken tikka, shammi kabab and vegetarian patty, they have an urgent need to take care of the cleanliness of the place. The washrooms were quite dirty and were stinking, which somewhat ruined the amazing experience we were having at that place. Also, the food is quite inexpensive and the ingredients were great.
If any of you is a fan of Indian rolls then this is the place which will offer you most authentic Kathi Rolls.
I went there couple of days back and ordered Chicken Kathi roll and it was so amazing that I came here again with my friend and she had the same review.
Only drawback that I found was the portions of the drinks that these guys are providing are not enough.
Rest , this place is a must visit.
It is a quaint little place that is tiny and is adorned with old Indian posters. As it was a bit crowded. I had to wait slightly for my order. But it was worth the wait. The roll is quite like what one eats at home. It had great flavors and was very soft. Most of all, it is cheap on the pocket.
This place is a great value-lunch spot. It is located in Wardour Street in Soho. The place serves Indian rolls which taste delicious. The "Unda Chicken" (Succulent chicken with egg) roll and the "Paneer Cheese" (Cottage cheese) roll are must haves. The rolls are tasty and the service is also great. There is an option of eat in as well as take away.
The service was unbelievably quick and the atmosphere was also quite a relaxed one with an informal seating. I had a roll with chana masala as the filling which I found really good and the meal completely satisfied my taste buds. Also, the mint sauce served with it had some distinct flavours which I personally found really good. Overall, it was a very nice and filling meal.
This place is more of a take away type of place.
You can sit and eat but they don't provide you with great ambiance so it is better if you take your food and eat on your way.
The chicken egg roll is very tasty and full of flavors especially when you will be eating it with green dip that they provide you.
TO begin with ambiance and environment that is enticing, the laid back, warm, welcoming and a relaxing environment without being pretentious is very comforting! Coming to food, ordered rolls which turned out very well prepared and were flavorsome! On the downside, slightly let down but the rather banal drink options. Will still come back, this place has more to offer afterall!
I had kathi rolls which are wraps made of warm parantha bread around various combos of meat, egg, vegetables and cheese. I ordered Shami Kebab roll which was spicy and contained a mix of herbs and some wonderful minced lamb. The food was absolutely delicious. Will be returning to this place again.
The wrap was filled with fluffy potato and lightly spiced my tongue did not sting my tongue at all. It was the perfect lunch in the scorching heat. The sour taste of the onion was something that gave an aspiring kick to the entire piece. I will admit that I was craving for more as the roll finished.
The pieces of meat, both juicy and perfectly seasoned wrapped in a thick 'paratha' or 'rumali roti' give the pallet a great punch. If you're willing to try some spicy yet tasty Indian food, this place will never lower your rays of hopes for it. A must try only for its endearing rolls.
I visited this place for lunch today. The interior was in the style of a cafe, very minimalist and resembled a fast food joint.
The menu had various flavours of kati rolls, which are basically wraps with different feelings. The staff were attentive and gladly catered to special requests.
The food was good quality, and the rolls were authentic. Also, the prices were very good, making it very good value for money. Overall, a good place to go for a quick lunch.
If you like Indian food and you like wraps, you're in luck because this place combines the two. I felt the wraps we're a bit on the smaller side so you might want to order two. My favourite is the shami kebab and I also opt for wholewheat rolls as well.
It's a bit annoying that you have to pay for the chutney but its well worth the extra cost.
I really like the rustic design of the place as it carries a lot of personality. The services is good and the atmosphere is lively.
The only place in London where you can have famous indian Kathi rolls. My only complain after being frequently there is that their quality is not consistent. On many occasions, the filling is dry rather than juicy. Also many things on menu not available like chai or Kathi on roti instead of parantha etc. It's good place but they need to work on it. Also, charge of 50p on chutney is a killer (atleast one with one roll should be free). But still as said, it's only place in London to enjoy Kathi roll - the only thing where London is behind NYC.
Kati roll company is a small joint serving one of the most famous North Indian delicacies, Kati rolls. Being a North Indian myself, standards and expectations for these rolls was already extremely high! Despite being a non-vegetarian, the acahari paneer kati roll really appealed to me, and thank god i ordered it! The most perfectly cooked and marinated pieces of paneer, covered with a perfectly balanced green chutney stuffed inside a thin and crispy paratha. The downfall to this almost perfect meal was the masala tea, that lacked the main "masala" element!
The ambience here was quite perfect, soft hindi music playing in the background and authentic street style decor. The only issue was perhaps seating, as the venue is not extremely big it was quite a task to find a table for 6 of us! I would avoid going during rush hour as the queues are genuinely quite long, but besides that, definitely going to go back here for another meal!
One of my favourite snack place. The food is amazing and there is a great selection of choice. Additionally, it is real value for money. One can tell from the first bite that the food is fresh and great quality. The portions are a little small so I wouldn't call it a meal but rather a really good snack. When you're on a schedule but need a quick fix of energy, the rolls will do a wonderful job!
Perfection
Known for their rolls, I went with a friend of mine and ordered two rolls, one beef tikka and one shami kabab.
The first one had a slight bite to it and the beef inside was cooked to perfection. It was soft, but not chewy and was served with hot sauce and yogurt and you can put other sauces upon request which add a nice kick and tang.
The second one was really nice with lamb, lentils, herbs and spices that confer it incredible texture and flavor. When biting into each roll our palate buds were overwhelmed by the salty, spicy, and savory flavors making it an exceptional experience!
I wish we could have found room to continue eating as their other dishes sound really tasty and yummy.
Authentic decor, delicious rolls and a central location. I absolutely love this place!
You enter and the walls are covered in old Bollywood movie posters, replicating the streets of India. Perfectly themed restaurant for the signature Kati Rolls that they offer.
My favourite is the Chicken Tikka Roll and Shami Kabab Roll - but watch out, this one is pretty spicy! The rolls in general are deliciously flavoured with indian spices, marinated meat and come garnished with onions.
Quick, easy and tasty!
I was so glad a friend introduced me to this restaurant which is situated just off Oxford Street. We were greeted with the lovely smell of Indian food and the interior decor was so authentic, I loved the posters of old hindi movies on the wall which really makes one feel like they've stepped off Oxford Street and suddenly reached India. I tried the shami kebab roll and the masala chai. The roll was absolutely delicious. My friend had the shrimp tikka roll and was quite happy with it. Their prices are also quite reasonable. Definitely going back to try all the other rolls this place has to offer.
Kati Roll Company has been on my radar for a while. I'd been to the nearby Photographer's Gallery to view an exhibition in the morning so this was perfectly placed as a quick place to grab a snack. There are a few rolls I want to try but a single roll was all I had room for! I chose the Unda Chicken which I was told is essentially the same as Chicken Tikka but with egg. This is my brunch so that fits perfectly. The green chutney is amazing. Bit annoyed about the surcharge but still... it's only 20p. Miso happy.
My cousin recommended this place to me. I have been here twice. Its a small cafeteria with a BOLLYWOOD posters and painting all around on its walls serving the famous street food of India as the name says "kathi rolls" in Central London. The place has informal seating arrangements and self service facility. The first time i visited the place i ordered chana masala roll and achahri paneer roll with mint chutney. The roll was really delicious and freshly prepared.
The mouth watering and subtle spices of the roll made me revisit it last week. I would recommend to order paranthas over chapati as the chapati were not fresh and undermines the quality of roll though the filling was great as earlier. The rolls are reasonably priced. It costs around £8 for two rolls and is definitely a healthier option over regular sandwiches and burgers. Also a great option for take away .
Great Rolls accompanied by refreshing drinks... Typically Bollywoodisque interiors with orange walls full of hit movie posters.. It's such a delight seeing an Indian food joint making a mark in the mainstream food arena. Keep going guys.. Keep up the good work.
Tongue tantalising, the yummiest and lightest kebab rolls to have on the run or just sit down with a drink and friends would love the atmosphere with old Bollywood movies posters on wall !!!
Atlast I got to try Kati Roll Company. I had been planning to come here for the longest time.
I think I had these after a year or so. I tried the Chana Masala Roll(s) with a Mango Lassi. Simply amazing. Actually it reminded me of this Chain called Faasos we have back home.
Nostalgia!
Yes yes Bollywood in London.
This place will bring nostalgia for any indian living in London. Its a small joint with Bollywood memories and serves roll which are authentic and genuinely Bombay style. I have been here many times and never disappointed on quality, taste and service (all though self service but fast). Not much to choose from the menu, limited offering but great value for money and taste. Do try the shrimp masala roll, its juicy shrimpy and spicy with mouthwatering flavours of green masala coconut based stuffing. You can buy extra sourly green chutney. Although masala chai can be tempting, and might give the idea of chai from local tapri but its not the case. I simply hate it, its waterery, weak in flavour and taste awful, the only thing which very is disappointing.
Oh yeah i love this place. I spent a lot of time in Kolkata as a kid and tgere was this place not far from my grandparent's house which made some cracking Kati rolls. After moving to london i was so haply to find this placw as it reminded me of home. The decor is orginal and the food is good but it could be cheaper. Overall my fav
The London arm of the West Village's original, this cute takeaway brings you straight to the doorstep of a Bombay classic - the Frankie roll! After several heavenly aromas and trips down childhood memories' lane you are handed nirvana wrapped up in a roll. A must for any self respecting Bombayite in London!
Was really craving something quick and tasty for lunch recently so myself and a colleague decided this might be the best time to try TKRC after numerous recommendations and seeing such positive reviews.
After visiting I have to say this place really does epitomise 'quick and tasty'. As a huge fan of street-food of all shapes and sizes it is great to see the progression of an Indian street-food favourite being taken on in the form of a brand in it's own right. I'm sure many others can describe this much better than me so I'll leave the intricacies to them (also I'm sure you've heard of Wikipedia). However in layman's terms a Kati Roll is an Indian wrap (originally a paratha) with a selection of numerous fillings.
In the case of TKRC there are many options including chicken and beef tikka/Unda, a number of vegetarian options (Achaari Paneer/Aloo Masala) and also the current newest offering Shrimp Masala ( I have to try this next).
I decided along with my friend to go for what we've have been told is the most popular option, Unda Chicken Roll. This was exactly what I needed. The wrap is very flavourful and gives that something different to the standard lunch options.
Although they are actually very good value in the first place, it is great to visit with a friend as there are slight discounts available when buying two rolls, although you may end up eating both yourself!
Will definitely be back on numerous occasions and may have just found a new regular lunch spot around Soho!
I know the Kati Roll Company from MacDougal Street in New York City's Greenwich Village and was delighted to happen upon its London Soho storefront. The Kati Roll has saved me from more than one night of debauchery. Such wonderful late night eating and I mean the wee hours of the morning.
The Kati Roll Company should be on every street corner in every neighborhood. In New York City come Midnight there are lines forming out side KRC's Orange facade.
The KRC Unda/Aloo Roll is most excellent for breakfast.
The rolls here, in my opinion, are the best I have ever tasted. For vegetarians - the chana masala is probably among the most popular (and my all time favourite). I could swear by not having had anything like that even from the street vendors in Calcutta. The small outlet off Oxford Street is charming, with orange walls, and weird bollywood music. Reasonably priced - would highly recommend it!
The most delicious parantha rolls with chicken very cost effective , filling and the chutney is to die for whenever I am in town I pop by love the food. They now charge extra for the chutney but it still doesn't break the bank so I am fine with it. I really can't get enough of the rolls once I have one I just want another once the only thing the place is small so its difficult to get a table and the masala chai is just like back home :-) I mostly go for the chicken tikka rolls my favourite
During my very first year after we moved to London I was on a spree to explore the city and of course travel around England. My first winter ( 2011) I really took my time to acclimatise and had a tough time going from one day to the other without feeling a mixture of utter boredom, gloom and loneliness ( maybe one of the reasons I subconsciously pushed myself to start blogging again after a long hiatus , my old blog started in 2006 , I abandoned for various reasons didn’t seem something I wanted to go back to…and ”sliceoffme” was born) On one such terribly cold and grey evening one of my old college mates who I found stayed in London via FB (Thank god for FB!) and me met for a drink and some window shopping. After walking all over Oxford Street we were ravenously hungry and I wanted something substantial and if possible Indian and not expensive – humm , lucky for me she really knew the area well and we walked to a tiny by lane off Reagent street n queued up inside The Kati Roll company. It was packed to the gills and is a tiny little place but very popular as I was informed by N.
The juicy and perfectly spiced pieces of meat, chicken or paneer wrapped in one of those ready to eat thick parathas (why?! well of this is NOT Mumbai is it so no chance of the REAL DEAL aka a Rumali Roti – a fine Indian Bread which is made by bravely tossing the dough around in open air and full public view and lands expertly on a tandoor – if I was to try it would probably land on my face! ) and seasoned with a spicy chutney and finely sliced red onions are so good especially when washed down with a chilled cola. I ordered two rolls with meat – but one can really fill you up if you are not too hungry. We managed to get a place to sit, partly because I hovered around a table where a group of hungry young men were wolfing down their rolls and managed to look very exhausted , hungry and in need for a place to sit – sigh… the things one has to do to get a table anywhere nice in London ;)
Last month when I was out near Reagent Street and struck by a serious hunger pang I made a beeline for The Kati Roll Company. Pleasantly surprised to find the place was not as busy and the interiors also seemed to have had a serious facelift. New on the menu was a very tempting bottle of thick mango lassi , the last one was sitting there in the fridge begging me to buy it…something about a water droplet slowly making its way from the too of the bottle along the side which was very ummm… mesmerising ? :) Alas the hungry man who ordered right before I did bought it – dang!So armed with a Shami Kebab and an Unda Shami Roll (guilt guilt !) I grabbed a table before it vanished.
So I had to settle for a coke – ah well. I sat on a table facing a wall with Aamir Khan staring down at me – a movie poster of Lagaan. I love how the posters had been put onto the wall and then run over with a roller I suppose making it look like the bricks had these images and had just been fitted into one another.

0.5 off just because it's not Park Street in Calcutta, and you're not getting these rolls from a hole-in-the-wall, what's-in-my-meat, enough-grease-to-fry-chips magical wonderland. And they're not spicy enough. But as rolls go, and what's available, it's heaven. Had these first in NYC, and then in London, and they are consistent, such good value for money and such a wonderful experience, that I have to wonder if it's actually the Kati Roll Charity - cause food this good can solve the world's problems. No gimmicks here.
Limited Seating area is the only drawback but otherwise the rolls are simply delicious. Good choice for vegetarians too. :)
It is because a friend of mine who stays in DC in the US of A recommended that I landed up here. He told this was his fave place in the US and had opened a branch in London recently which he wanted me to visit. And so I did. It was awesome I would say. A suggestion that was very valuable. I tried the unda chicken role on light kathi. Was the best roll I had anywhere. Have tried this in places but none like this. I then ordered a shami kabab roll which wasn't as great but not bad either. Should've had this first and then the chicken one may be. Any average adult should be able to gobble 2 rolls on an empty stomach. Menu choices are very limited but its better that way. Rather than spoiling people with choices it is better to spoil them with taste is what I believe and it looks like they follow that too. You can opt for any of the bottled drinks available around the town for a reasonable price. I'd stay away from the masala chai. Unless you wish to have tea leaves in hot water topped with a pinch of milk and lots of cinnamon powder.
Ambience does'nt exist but who cares. Word of caution its a very small places the size of a saloon garage and has 5-6 tables of varying size so take away should be your best bet. Be ready to Walk around central London with rolls in your hand if thats what you've to do.
Bottom line I've added this to my favorites.
After a long day spent shopping around oxford street and when you are starving and crave something that will not only fill your tummy but also satify the heart of an Indian who craves road-side yummy rolls then this is the place to be! Although there are not too many options the ones available are simply delicious!
I have been there several times and have more or less tried all roles. My personal favourite is the Shami kebab roll and the chicken tikka roll for the non-vegetarians and the Channa masala roll for the veggies.
The place is super crowded being in one of the most busy areas in london and sometimes getting a seat can be a problem but getting a takeaway is an equally good option.
The rolls and made of parathas and not rotis but do justice to the concept of kathi rolls.
Besides the rolls there is no option for drinks except aerated drinks and beer!
You find the place to be given a completely Indian Bollywood look and it makes sense to sit and eat in and check the various posters out!
All in all I love the concept of getting Indian street food amidst the hussle and bustle of London City!
whenever I visit this place, I struggle to ascertain how many rolls to eat there and how many rolls to take home :) the rolls are the best i have ever eaten and their chutney sauce is amazing .. if you haven't eaten here, you are missing something very special ...
Ceiling fans, retro Bollywood posters and Kati rolls. The Kati Roll and Company could have well been a small restaurant on the side street of a city in India but instead, it is in the heart of London. Right off Oxford street it is the itinerant shoppers salvation. Hot rolls that give you instant energy and you don't need fancy cutlery.
Reasonably priced, it has vegan, vegetarian and of course non-vegetarian options. All manner of soft drinks and decent chilled beers are also served. The only hot drink served is masala chai and it is really not the best. I would be happier if they served normal tea as well. After all hot & milky masala tea is not the only type of tea drunk in India. However, I am willing to ignore the tea and forgive them because they are the best at making Kati rolls.
Late evenings are the rush hour and you'd be lucky if you get a seat (a corner of a bench or stool)! But they do takeaway and many people prefer that option. It is a nice change from the typical curry houses!
I was raised in a town where Kathi (Kati) rolls and anything to do with Indian style Kebabs is done so well in most restaurants, that I am a little bit spoilt & fussy about them being perfect.
The Kathi rolls that I grew up eating were traditionally wrapped in a Rumali Roti (an extremely thin flat bread..that requires juggling as a pre-requisite for making it - The best bread to have Chicken/lamb curry with)
Moving on, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Kathi roll place hidden in one of the alleys around Oxford Circus. Its a tiny little joint which was quite busy on all the occasions I have been to it. Nostalgia hits you like a truck if you are old enough (like Moi) to remember those old school posters of Bollywood films. It has a "small Indian Diner" sort of feel to the place.
The first time I saw the Kathi rolls here I was slightly disappointed to see Parthas as the roll and not Rumali rotis. However, the taste makes up for it big time. I always have at least 2 rolls every time, one of which is always Shami kebab. Others that I have tried are Chicken Tikka, Unda chicken and beef. I have heard a lot about the Chana masala which I hope to try the next time I am there. All the rolls are delicious and quite authentic. 2 for £8 - you can't go wrong.
Now, for the Masala Chai..Seriously.. My 3 month of old Niece could make a better Chai than that and she can't even say the word "Chai" yet. Please change that and you are a perfect 5 in my book.
Best kati rolls in London, reminded of the kati rolls served back home. The rolls have both vegetarian options (aloo, paneer, chole masala) and non-vegetarians options. The restaurant has very limited seating so try going a not at the peak lunch hour.
The restaurant also serves nice indian bottled beer which is an advantage.
The food is very reasonably priced.
The restaurant also has posters from old Himdi movies and plays bollywood songs.
If you want to be reminded of a place back home, visit this place.
If you are craving for typical indian kathi rolls, this little place is the place to be. Its small, with fun bollywood posters hanging on the wall, giving you the total India filmy feel.
The chana masala roll and the achari paneer roll, is amazing here. The chutney they serve with the roll makes it even better. Grab it with a coke, and it makes a perfect place for a spicy munch.
Easy on the pocket, with self service facility. A must visit for everyone.
This is a tiny little place on Poland Street, just off of Oxford Street, with a few tables put together. It is not a place for gourmet dining, but a place to grab a quick bite.
JI had my first stint with Kathi Roll Company in New York. Just loved the decor. Old bollywood movie poters on the wall and hindi songs play in the background.
Love the mixed veggie an chana masala rolls. Masala chai is amust have. Absolutely refreshing and complements your meal.
Freshly prepared and authentic, these rolls are simply delicious.
A good offbeat place for the price and taste.
If you've had a long day of shopping at Oxford Street or you've been on a booze binge in nearby Soho, pop into this place for a quick and tasty Indian grub. I have been here on a number of occasions and have never returned dissatisfied. The rolls and the green chutney that accompanies it are both absolutely mouthwatering and the place is easy on the wallet, what more can one ask for :)
Very rarely you come across a restaurant which does what it says on the tin and with perfection; for I have surely not come across any better Indian rolls in London.
I have tried chicken tikka and aloo masala roll and I am sure to come back for more. For people working around this area, this would be a perfect choice for lunch takeaways though if you are hungry, better is to have 2.
A perfect place to grab a quick roll after shopping in Oxford Street.A wide range of rolls for veggie and non-vegetarians.The taste has never been disappointing. The coriander chutney with the rolls adds to the flavor.
Do not forget to have masala chai(tea) if you want to get rejuvenated for another round of shopping :)
Awesome mind blowing fab beauty! I just love this place and can never have enough of this. This place reminds me of Basant Lok in Delhi, where I used to hang out with friends curing my college days.
The rolls are all top class, but you cant go wrong with egg chicken tikka. And the pudina chutney is lip smacking to keep you good company. Also try the chana roll if you are a veggie, again you would be thanking me.
Highly recommended for both eat in and grab and go!
When you are walking down Oxford street, late evening shopping and lugging around with shopping bags, popping into this joint can be the best thing you can ask for ! Kathi rolls of different fillings - aaloo, paneer, chole and many more to try from.
The taste of kathi roll is very authentic especially with green mint chutney. It's value for money and quiet filling.
A quick byte when you are on the move.
Love the posters on the wall and not to miss the Hindi songs they play !
Overall, good value for money and THE place to go for kathi rolls, especially if you want an authentic taste of India around central London. Good variety for Vegetarians as well as the Non vegetarians. The green chutney served with it just adds up to the flavor. They have the Roti option as well for the health conscious :). Shammi Kabab and aloo roll are my favorites.
If you are looking for Kati Rolls in Central London this is the place without any doubt. A combination of Indian - street style and the British - less oil to it, it is perfect. Cheap on the pocket and an on the go snack. Its a bit inside Poland Street, not worth a miss.
A great place to get a quick bite. I like the consistent quality, bollywood posters on the wall, and the awesome location. It is a good chain - I have been to the one in NYC too and it also very nice. I wish they had more branches - could definitely use one near my office :-).
Lured here by a newfound friend, this is one of the best places to grab a quick bite in London, especially if you're shopping in Oxford Circus. The shami unda kati roll is my favourite, followed by the chicken tikka roll. The veggie ones, like the aloo masala and paneer, are good too. Remember to ask for the tub of green chutney because sometimes they don't give it unless you ask for it!
The restaurant is bright orange inside, and has posters from Bollywood movies plastered everywhere. It's small and not many tables/chairs so be prepared for a takeaway.
I tried the masala chai but that's not as good as the rolls, which are absolutely authentic.

This is one of the best places for an Indian 'quick bite' in vicinity of Oxford Street, London. My favourite is 'Unda Aloo Roll(spicy potato with a layer of beaten egg). 'Achari Paneer Roll' and 'Chana Masala Roll' are also recommended. Try the rolls with the green(coriander + mint) chutney. 2 rolls are good enough to fill you up. When viviting Oxford steet I make sure I drop in. Masala Tea is not so good and the place easily runs out of seating space during evening rush hours. A must visit place though.
The Good
1) In a city full of Indian curry houses finding Kati Roll Company was a delectable treat. Especially in Central London, it is good to see an Indian restaurant not offering the usual stuff like Kebabs, Samosa or Chicken Tandoori. And they keep the authentic desi taste intact. The rolls are almost as good as I would find in my favourite Kati roll joints in India.
2) Yummy yet affordable. 2 egg chicken roll cost £8.50.
3) Location. I almost always stop here to take a break from shopping in Oxford Circus.
The Bad
1)I know it's tough to expect a lot of space in Central London but this place can definitely do with some extra space.
2) Wish their masala chai was also 'authentic' enough.
What I had
1) Egg Chicken roll - Super-liked
2) Egg shami roll - Is great (Recommended)
3) Paneer roll - Is also quite good.
Ask for their green chutney if they forget to serve.
A quick bit with grilled meat chapattis. Full of flavor and deliciously spice. You can request a side sauce as well. Paid about £6 for a roll.
I tried paneer kari roll, taste was ok.
Ambience is good.
Its self service you get all different varieties of roll.
They also offer you card with stamp, so if your card is full with stamp you get a 1 free roll.
The flavors are remarkably similar to the Kathi Roll Company in New York City, if not slightly better. They know how to make their primary thing (the kathi rolls) pretty well.
Apart from the food, the atmosphere inside the place is not really my vibe, but since you are not staying here long enough for a proper sit-down dinner, that's okay. Perhaps the best part about this place is the speed of your order which is blazing fast! Which is great if you are famished and craving quick filling food.
It is the perfect snacks/appetizer in London. Quick, cheap, fulfilling and just enough spice for a snack. Definitely recommend their chicken tikka roll. You can grab it to go and finish it in seconds. Will try again their other menu.
Small but nice place for a quick stop if you would like to have some Kathi rolls with masala chai. It has both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Chai is really good, will recommend to checkout this place if you like Indian chai.
I am a big fan of kati roll. This reminds me roadside rolls at Kolkata. When I was kid, used to visit with my father at a nearby roll centre. Many of you may have been same experience. If you want to relive your old memories with some modern days sauce, you can try here lovely rolls. Egg chicken rolls with green chutney is always my favourite. I also love their egg roll or chicken roll. This time I took my family and they also find it really yummy 😋. Their decor at inside is very different. I feel nostalgic seeing some of the old days movie poster which we used see in Kolkata streets/ building. Service is quick and staffs are friendly. People usually quickly finish food and leave which allows others to sit and enjoy. Easy access from Oxford circus tube station. It’s a must visit if you love roll.
Nice spot for a quick, casual bite. 4 stars for the kathi roll, but their chai is very milky without strong flavor. We tried their Unda Beef roll, Unda Paneer roll and Achari paneer roll. Would recommend the unda paneer roll, it was tasty and filling. They also offer two sauces on the side, yogurt (raita) and coriander chutney. Quick, courteous service, it was a little warm in the dine in space, seemed quite busy for a Tuesday lunch hour. Quirky Bollywood decor on their rustic walls.
I didn't actually need two, but I was curious about the vegetarian one - aloo masala, and it was even better than the lamb (shami kabab).
Great little place for a filling bite to eat - and affordable prices. Will go again.
Great good, very tasty, and good ambience. The rolls are delicious and the chai is good as well. The meat is also halal. The atmosphere with the music and posters give it a great vibe. Only downside is that there is limited seating so its tricky when it gets really busy, but it's easy enough for takeaway.
Incredibly delicious food, EVERY SINGLE TIME. And I’m not proud to say I am picky, fussy and hard to please - I wish it wasn’t so. But these guys…..they really know what they’re doing. The wraps are tender on the inside, crisp but soft on the outside, filled with flavour in the most balanced ways.
And I could die inside the tamarind sauce and be happy.
This place makes me happy. I wish I lived upstairs.
Oh my!. Very busy place, not much seating but we were happy to share our table. You'll definitely need 2 rolls per person - they're running a 50p off for buying 2 at a time.
We had 1 beef unda roll, 1 lamb unda roll & 2 prawn (shrimp) rolls - these were magnificent!. Sorry no pics as we inhaled them.
Also had the hot masala tea, I was kindly allowed a sample before ordering.
I would agree with previous reviews that food needs to be served hotter, esp given how cold it is outside.
I would recommend & definitely go again.
Only thing is lack of tables, once the trays are collected by staff, they should gently encourage people to move on.
I also loved the authentic interior too (see pics)!
Very unique exclusive Kati Roll spot! If you are looking for a non-standard Indian food experience in London, this is definitely the place! Maybe time to bring this out to Boston!
I had ordered 1 Beef wrap, 1 Unda Chicken Wrap and 2 Chicken Tikka wraps and I got my order in under 10 minutes. I was very much surprised but it was a great service and the staff is very friendly. To be honest the location of this place is very nice and once you sit inside you'll really get the feel of sitting in a roadside stall in India. The ambiance and the atmosphere just outside is too Londonish while inside is purely Desi. One other thing that I liked about Kathi Roll is that they put up an Air conditioner in the shop and that too 2 air conditioners. I was with my 2 other friends and I even planned to order the masala chai. The Chai was not very up to the mark but it was average. The last time I went there, I had the shami kabab roll and it was delicious so I thought of experimenting and having something else this time. Overall a very nice place to eat out with friends.
Super quick service.
Decent wrap, tasty but the chicken Tikka can be more tender and juicy
Bit packed and not comfortable seating.
Had an achari paneer kati roll which was well filled and full of flavour. Chai masala tea was nice too. Not a huge menu which makes it much easier to choose something from. Seating area isnt huge but turnover was quick so we didn't wait long. Decor is great too. Would recommend and would definitely come again.
Fast, good price, wide choice for vegi to meat, sublimely delicious. Mango Lassi is also a must!
Fantastic place for an authentic Indian snack. Rarely you get the balance of flavours this right and authentic, reminds me of the rolls in Kolkata. Highly recommended and situated centrally - 5 minutes walk from Oxford Circus tube station.
