Not the largest pub in the world and often full, but the Hand in Hand is certainly one of the most atmospheric and welcoming in London. Landlord Andrew and his team run a very tight ship and service is invariably efficient and friendly; care has been taken to maintain the Hand in Hand as a proper pub, with children only allowed in the (pretty spacious) designated 'family room'. A fine selection of real ales is well maintained, with guest ales changing frequently. As with many pubs in the Wimbledon Village area, the Hand in Hand is very dog friendly and enjoys a host of canine 'regulars' - accompanied, of course! - that contribute greatly to the general atmosphere, as does the occasional live rugby match on the TV. All this plus a decent food menu, a cosy outdoor courtyard with seating, regular events such as beer tastings and quiz nights, and an enviable situation on Wimbledon Common, makes the Hand in Hand a perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening.

The best sunday roast experience at Hand in Hand! Food was amazing, but atmosphere and service were even better, especially from Andrew! The outdoor seating area is so cosy and we were greeted by the neighborhood cat, Charlie, we’ll definitely be back!

As far as I’m concerned this is the best pub in London for many reasons. Amazing experienced staff and management, excellent beer which is well kept and on the cooler side, consistently good food especially the enormous Sunday roasts, dog friendly, people friendly, no music (never even noticed until it was pointed out). Great locals. Amazing location. Most others don’t come close…

A great little pub just of the common. Has such a great cosy feel inside and out. Nice seating area outside with smoking and non smoking area. Great selection of drinks and draught beers. Food is a varied selection and very tasty. Highly recommended place to visit after a good long walk.

Lovely little pub in Wimbledon Village with the best staff. So genuinely friendly and helpful it gives the place such a nice atmosphere. Cute little beer garden at the front. Food and drinks are great. Expensive but.. it’s also London so.. depressingly that’s kind of ho he expected!

Enjoyed the food, we ordered croquettes, sausage rolls, and very surprised by how densely filled the chicken and beef pies were. Busy on the weekends, filled with dog walkers and families. Lots of parking on nearby residential roads.

I had haddock and chips with mushy peas it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had some cozy seats at the back of the restaurant and they’re very dog friendly. We will definitely be going back after we’ve done a long walk on Wimbledon Common.

Booked ahead (always wise, esp Sundays) for lunch with friends. Ended up with a whole “private room” to ourselves in the middle of the pub which was great. Lovely food, brilliant service and staff. Super dog friendly too. Couldn’t ask for more.

Had a wonderful day here during Wimbledon week, stopped in for a pint and stayed for several hours. Lovely food and great service, enjoyed a few games on the TV and the general buzz of the place, dog friendly and person friendly! Hats off the proprietor.
