Great place with 2 tables outside to enjoy the sunny days. A bit busy as it’s in the heart of Soho. The food is great, it has veggie and vegan options, not too many but delicious. The staff is absolutely amazing and friendly.

We had reserved a table and got here around 6 30. After consulting with the staff (very friendly), we went ahead with Don Ceviche, Cancha, Salmon Ceviche, Salmon Chifa and Chica Morada (a local drink). All the dishes we had were really nice and delicious. loved the drink as I have never had it before. Cant comment on the meat options as we only eat seafood. I have taken away one point as our salmon had 4 5 bones come out from one of the fillets, which we told our server. A pricey place but worth it.

Been there now twice and only gets better - great interactive bartenders and chefs what else do u want - great food and equally lively music - in heaven on frith street - get the chef to give u a test if the tigers milk which is a great combination of the Peruvian chilli Aji Amarillo and then several other ingredients including celery, garlic Etc - wow what a sauce - keep it up guys - Peruvian food rocks especially when U have access to great fish for the ceviche and the fresh chillies. Had the don ceviche and several pisco sours and one old fashioned chuchuhuashi - great time folks

Peruvian place with not too many vegan options (I didn’t ask!!)
But reasonable number of vegetarian options. The best is the kale-chard pie we repeated it multiple times.
Great service :)

Ceviche had tables lit with candlelight which provided a really nice ambience. I hadn't had Peruvian food before and I was pleasantly surprised. We started with the Pork Chifa Tequenos which were delicious! We then had the Jalea steamed buns were delicious as well and were like Chinese Bao. The bun was delicious and fluffy and the deep fried bass inside was cooked perfectly! We then had the Don Ceviche and Camaron palteado which were quite nice as well. The lime/lemon flavours used in the curing were quite strong but the rest of the ingredients help to cut through it. We then had the Yucas which are fried cassava chips and I would recommend trying these if you haven't had them before. Would definitely go back and try the other delicious food on the menu and maybe have the pork wontons and steamed buns again!

Ceviche is a bright, lovely little restaurant and bar in Soho. The restaurant specialises in Peruvian tapas style dishes- perfect to get a taste of Peru.
I ordered the Pisco sour, mini arroz chaufa and Cameron palteado. While the Pisco sour cocktail wasn't my usual style, it was definitely worth the try. Odd flavours mashed together to give you a sour-bitter cocktail. The tapas each on its own look like pieces of art on the table. The colours are vibrant and vivacious. The flavours are tangy and spicy.
Ambience: Very Good
Food/Drinks: Excellent
Service: Very Good
Value for Money: Good
My Recommendation: anything from the ceviche bar or the grill or the classics.

Great food and atmosphere. The don ceviche stands out straight away and takes me back to Peru. This along with the ribs and lamb chops are a must.
The range of flavours and colors makes most dishes a spectacle in themselves

It is obvious to see why ceviche is a firm favourite in london

I had never had Peruvian food, as such. But on eating at Ceviche in Soho, I had certainly had eaten very similar things before, so I’m not quite sure how authentically Peruvian their dishes are, or whether I eat a bit of Peruvian food on a regular basis without knowing it. For a snack as you browse through the menu, these little broad beans croquets with mint, coriander and yogurt are tasty and not greasy as some deep-fried things can be.

Delicious food I was not disappointed with the taste but super tight on the sizes. It's Peruvian tapas so totals up pretty high on the bill for what you get but its good if you plan on spending a while there and enjoying conversation over small dishes. It's has a feel Peruvian feel about the place and the staff are South American so know what they are talking about when it comes to the menu.

Luckily, the colleagues I was dining with were all up for sharing and so we ordered a selection of nearly everything. The ceviche, unfortunately, wasn’t as good as the ones I had at Lima, Señor Ceviche, or even Sushisamba, but I have also since learned that the acidity of this dish isn’t one I’m overly fond of, so that might be part of it.

The venue represents the south-american rooms, ideal for group meals. A bit noisy though. The variety on offer is very large and diversified, the ceviche is obviously mandatary option but there are plenty of alternative options for those who do not like marinated fish. The employees are very friendly, only the price is a bit high for the portion sizes. We paid £ 45 per person, with two wine bottles and 6/7 mini-dishes per person.

Loud, happening, happy, upbeat and exactly what this place brands itself as. Music + people around you talking + you talking = you better appreciate the food because the company doesn't count.

Pretty sure you will because, ceviche, ceviche, ceviche, locally sourced. There is nothing not to love!

Great food, great quality fish, interesting flavours that wake your palate up. Yes, this is the one.

Incredible place... Love the vibe but the food is absolutely delicious.

You can out your name on the waiting list and go to one of the many bars around to have some apperatifes before you hit the Ceviche!

You cant go wrong here, so order whatever on the menu. The classic Don Ceviche is a good place to start.

The price is also very reasonable, especially when compared to the quality your getting.

Try this place out, as soon as possible!

Stay hungry my friends!

Wow. Delish doesn't describe! Had heard so much about the place that i had to try, esp as there is feck all Peruvian places in Dublin. Each dish was an explosion of flavour and taste. Marinated beef heart was just gorgeous as were the cheese balls. The don ceviche is a number one seller and not very hard to see why. I'll be back for sure - we made a decent dig through the menu but there's an awful lot more to taste!

Ceviche Restaurant was my first experience with Peruvian food. I've enjoyed it pretty much. The restaurant is very cool and nice and the service very good. The ingredients used are different than what we're used and we were in the mood for trying it. It all went well and we found it a very fun experience. By the way, almost everything was spicy, but I loved it.

I’ve been dying to go to Ceviche ever since my boyfriend bought me Martin Morales’ cookbook to celebrate shacking up, almost two years ago. Back in New York, I would spend almost once a week at Pio Pio with my mother, so I’ve always loved Peruvian food, and ceviche, in particular. The Ceviche cookbook is an absolutely stunning read, but shamefully I’ve only attempted one recipe from the book due to the fact that I’m not entirely sure where I’d procure the ingredients from. (The recipe in question is pollo con cola, which sounds pretty batty until you try it – it is incredible).

Ever since I came back from Peru, I’ve had an obsession with ceviche. I never found one that lived up to Cevicheria La Mar in Lima (this includes the highly rated restaurant “Ceviche” in Soho) then Señor Ceviche decided to pop up in Kingly Court and stay this time around. I had never tried it before but for some odd reason I had built up my expectations and usually that results in disappointment – not this time.

There's nothing like doing a pop up restaurant for 18 people to make me want a luxury holiday. If I could, I'd jet out of the UK to tropical climes the minute I've finished the clearing up but sadly it doesn't happen like that! However, when I get the chance to get out of the house the next day and visit a new and exciting restaurant, serving lots of fresh fish, then that's got to be the next best thing. So after last weekend's pop up that's exactly what I did. Our friend Matt Burgess, who was head chef at Ealing Park Tavern has been snapped up by Ceviche in Soho where he's now running the kitchen. I know wherever Matt is the food's going to be top notch so we booked in for Sunday lunch and headed into Soho to eat all the fish. Ceviche is small and welcoming, and bustling full of hungry diners. It's noisy, in a good way, and if you want a little more calm  you can sit at the bar/cooking station in the front of the restaurant, which is away from the hustle and bustle of the back area. We wanted hustle and bustle though so took our seats at a table just about large enough to hold all the food I ordered! After a delicious and much needed pisco sour, we (I - boy is still allergic to chilli) started with drunk scallops - tiratido of thinly sliced king scallops, pisco, pomegranate, limo chilli, lime and coriander. Fresh and punchy, I loved the pop of the pomegranate seeds with the soft, fishy scallops and sour sauce.

The place was pretty packed but we had got a reservation by calling them just one hour before we went for dinner.
The waitress was very courteous and the service quick and uncompromising.
Their selection of starters and seafood outweigh the rest. Deserts are few but the ones present are prepared and taste really good.

Ceviche great for ceviche. As someone who isn't that fond of raw fish, I was wary of this place but lured in by their fantastic cocktail menu. Fast forward a couple of hours and I'm raving about how delicious the ceviche was!! A restaurant that can make me LOVE raw fish is one worth a visit. We had a selection of seven of the tapas dishes and they were all equally delicious. You won't regret this one.

I heard of ceviche, the Peruvian dish for a long time through various forms of another… Ceviche is seafood dish, using fresh seafood such as seabass, scallops etc a staple of Peruvian cuisine… For me, one of the best is at Ceviche in central Soho.. Here’s what our first experience at Ceviche looks like To nibble, we had crispy plantain.. In the same family as the banana, Super crispy perfect for the Pisco Sour.. A cocktail that is sweet, sour and gets you right in the mood for some ceviche For start, the Don Ceviche… Fresh seabass with tiger’s milk, red onion, limo chilli and sweet potato… An refreshing, tangy, sweet and aromatic dish… Next the japanese inspired salmon ceviche…. Sweet and marbled salmon with a hint of mirin and soy sauce… Sharp but yet subtle to the tongue The scallops were brilliant.. Sweet on its own but with the limo chilli and pomegranate adds the crunch and cirtusy feel to the dish To end it off, duck confit with beer rice and choclo corn, amorillo chilli and beef

Ceviche, the restaurant, is the brainchild of half-Peruvian, ex DJ, Martin Morales. Inside it’s got that cool Soho vibe with dark wooden floors and dark wooded tables with bright contrasting walls dotted with a few pieces of Peruvian art posters. It actually felt more like a low-key French bistro rather than anything I’d visited on my travels – but nonetheless, it fits in nicely with the trendy surroundings.

Step forward Ceviche, a Peruvian kitchen and Pisco bar in the heart of Soho. The restaurant opened in Spring 2012 on the site of Cafe Emm – a restaurant I loved, but fortunately Ceviche is a good successor. It’s been nearly 10 years since I visited Peru and I remember eating very well there and was particularly fond of the choclo (corn) based dishes and Pisco Sours, so was eager to rediscover the cuisine.

But the main event is, of course, always going to be the ceviche.  For those of you who do not know what ceviche is and can't be bothered to look it up, it is, at its essence, raw fish marinated in lime.  Here, each of the dishes are marinated in "tigers milk" , which is lime juice, sliced onion, chiles, salt, and pepper — along with a bit of fish juice

I was (as I often am these days) late to the party with Ceviche but had been aware of the buzz and was really keen to check it out.  Another common failing of mine (wow I'm really beating myself up this post) is going somewhere I plan to blog about and then leaving it so long that I have forgotten what I ate and what I wanted to say about it.  That is the case with Ceviche but luckily I took some good photos and also I  liked it so much that the glow is still with me.  It was a fun lunch, with my friends Lucas and Kylie, so even though it was mid week  we got stuck in to the Pisco Sours, which were mighty fine.  We ordered a selection of food to share - lots of ceviche of course (sea bass, salmon and scallops) plus a funky beetroot salad and even some beef heart (which was super tasty).  It was all really good - the ceviche was amazing and everything looked so beautiful.  I haven't been to Peru so can't comment on the authenticity but whatever they're doing at Ceviche they are  doing i

It’s not just restaurants that are taking choice out of the equation. While some bars might specialise in a particular drink while still offering others - the Campari Bar at Polpo on Beak Street, for example - the Pisco Bar at Martin Morales’ new Peruvian restaurant Ceviche in Soho will serve only the pure grape spirit, in cocktails and fruit- or spice-infused macerados.

The problem with having a particularly good or popular restaurant along a street is that after a while, it's all about it. Woe betide any other restaurants that are near its vicinity, which have to contend with fighting for spillover crowd. That is the case for Koya  along Frith Street. That is probably the reason why we haven't noticed Ceviche , which lies directly opposite Koya. It so happened that we were in Soho one fine Friday afternoon feeling rather pleased with ourselves that we have some time for a particularly long lunch while others are still slogging away in the office. I'm not going to lie, at first the concept of raw fish soaked in lime juice made me squirm. Having grown up in a landlocked country, my childhood exposure to unfrozen fish was rather limited.
So I sceptical turned up, without reservation, at 8 o'clock on a Friday night secretly hoping to be turned away.
Arrived and was instantly seated, the place was packed and buzzing with life. At first, I assumed we got a seat out of shear luck as every table was full, but throughout the night I realised that the table turnover probably rivals that of a train seat during rush hour.

Service is immaculate, servers are all friendly, energetic and most importantly, attentive. So much as glance up, with the slightest look of decisiveness and you're guaranteed to be faced by a dashing Latin, pen in hand.

Now for the food. As I mentioned, I was sceptical and honestly, kinda hoping for a nandos.
That was of course, until the food arrived. At which point, dare I say it. Nandos was the last thing on my mind. Beautifully spiced, well presented, small tapas portions of everything that's good under the sun.
As for the pickled raw fish.... The sea bass and the scallops were so good, we ordered another round of them for desert.

Safe to say, I will be going back.

Excellent ceviche (the name gives it away) and the grilled meat dishes are good too.

My favourite part of the meal is the Pisco Sours - the bartenders at this establishment know what they are doing!

My only bugbear is the difficulty of securing a table at a normal dining hour on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. A couple of times in the past I have left my name at the front desk for a table but never received a call back - it's a good thing Chotto Matte is around the corner.

You can't go to Ceviche without wanting to try something new. If you don't know what it is, ceviche is almost like a Peruvian sushi: raw fish cured in citrus juices and boy oh boy, do these guys do it well!

South American cuisine is having a moment and if you want too want to jump on the bandwagon, then this is the place for you. A quick look at the pictures above will tell you how much attention is paid to presentation and coming here is as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the stomach.

Despite the size of Ceviche, it is always full and so is lent the impression of intimacy. The staff were a too busy to pay us that much attention, but all will be forgiven after just one sip of their amazing Pisco Sours.

We kicked off with cocktails. All made with pisco (a grape brandy that tastes similar to cachaca), there's a selection of over ten to choose from. I started with the Pisco Fever - ginger-infused pisco, Fever Tree ginger ale, lime and bitters - which was a bit of a twist on the classic Moscow Mule before switching to Sarita's Miracle - cocoa-infused pisco, cranberry-infused pisco, condensed milk and malted milk biscuit - and sticking with that. The boys went for Pisco Sours which proved pretty popular, and the cerveza. We nibbled on cancha (a bit like popcorn), chifles (crisp plantain chips) and olives whilst browsing the menu.

Dishes are small and great to share, with a recommended three to four per person. We started with marinated octopus and chorizo skewers which were out of this world divine, chicken wings in panca chilli, a pear and sheep's cheese salad, flame cooked beef fillet with chips (had to be done) and two of the classic ceviche dishes. 'Ceviche' itself is fresh raw fish, marinated in citrus juices and then spiced (known as tiger's milk). Perhaps not one for those who are a little funny about these kinds of things but we went for the Don Ceviche (fresh seabass ceviche in amarillo chilli tiger's milk, limo chilli, sweet potato and red onions) and the Drunken Scallops (thinly sliced king scallops, pisco, pomegranate and limo chilli). It was all about the flavours - the zingy citrus masks the delicate seabass in the first but leaves you feeling fresh, whilst the scallop dish was a lot more basic and distinctly fishy. We weren't completely sold on the ceviche so moved on to the second round of food.

We ordered practically everything on the menu - the cheese and chard tequenos were particularly good, the boys loved the confit duck with coriander and dark beer rice, and the corn cake was an interesting spongelike bread made savoury with raw tomato and onion.

Whilst we weren't completely convinced by the cuisine, the service was good and quick, for the most part despite it being completely rammed. The decor's very colourful and fresh with washes of blues and the 'being a little bit different' added an extra component. We agreed we probably wouldn't go back but it was a great place to try. Go for something new and stay for the pulpo y chorizo - that won't disappoint you one bit.

The Halal: Nada- When will I find halal Peruvian food?! It’s so yummy! At least there’s plenty of seafood and veg to appeal to the masses! Alcohol and pork are served here.

The Place: Huddled amongst the numerous hip Soho eateries is Ceviche- Peruvian kitchen. The restaurant has a cosy and relaxed vibe. Black and white photographs line one wall and fluorescent retro posters hang on the others. It came highly recommended from a friend who knows her food!

Service was extremely friendly at Ceviche. I would make one suggestion- new customers might be daunted by the unique menu and I always find it really helpful to be given some suggestions on the most popular dishes. The latino music was mellow and I really felt for a short while like I was on holiday in Lima!

The Food: Plates are for sharing and we were advised that 4 each was a good number if you were really hungry (we were!) Given the halal constraints, we were unable to try some of the exciting meat dishes but luckily there was plenty of seafood and veg on offer.

The Don Ceviche (sea bass with amarillo tiger’s milk, chilli, sweet potato and onion) was a popular choice from spying on the other tables. Once tasted, I understood exactly why! The sea bass was fresh and the combination of tangy limes with spicy chilli created an extremely satisfying taste sensation. I creatively added some crunchy peruvian corn to the mix to add another dimension of texture- YUM!

Yucas (fried cassava) was served with a Huancaina sauce which was spicy and creamy. The yucas were golden and beautifully crispy yet still soft in the middle and went perfectly with the dip.

We also tried grilled white and green asparagus (served with the same Huancaina sauce). This was a bit of a disappointment as it was quite a boring dish – a different sauce could have elevated the flavours but the asparagus was cooked well.

Ceviche also offer a variety of vegetarian ceviche which was novel. We ordered the Ceviche de Alcachofa (artichokes, red onion, sweet potato) – if you’re a fan of sour haribo then you will love these flavours!

Next up was the dazzling and colourful Coctel el Tigre (literally a cold cocktail of king prawn, diver-caught scallop, spider crab meat, avacado and tomato). Alongside the sea bass ceviche this was the next strongest dish we sampled on the menu, not to mention, a fair amount of seafood for less than a tenner!

The Solteron salad (palm hearts, spinach, feta and alfalfa) was a bit bland and I probably wouldn’t order this again given that there are so many more exciting items on the menu. The Choclo corn cake was warm and fluffy and brought around a nice balance when eaten with the tangy ceviche.

Grilled red mullet skewers were soft and flakey and served with a rich peruvian tartare sauce. Really nice. I washed the meal down with a mocktail ‘Luna Ciega’ which had lychee, pomegranate, echinacea and raspberries. Wow- I have never had a purple drink- could not get enough of this it was so cool!

For dessert I wanted to try everything so in the end I opted for the Trio Barranco: Guanabana fruit suspiro, voladores biscuit with chocolate and a seeded passion fruit mousse.

The presentation was superb and each element of the dessert complimented the other. It was neither too sweet nor too heavy which many restaurants find really difficult to accomplish.

The Price: 4 small plates per person comes to around £30 (not including drinks).

The Verdict: I will definitely be coming back to Ceviche. The food was brilliant and the service was great. This is the kind of place that would be perfect for a chilled out catch-up with friends, drinks and snacks after work, lazy lunches or a food-stop for shoppers!

Ceviche deliver the best of Peruvian food with high quality ingredients. Everything is spiced to perfection and it is certainly worth a visit!
I was recommended Ceviche because I'm half Peruvian and I sometimes get cravings for the country's mouth-watering dishes. I really enjoyed my experience at Ceviche: the dishes are authentic and well-flavoured, and the service is attentive. The interior has a rustic kitchen feel to it and the atmosphere is simply fantastic.

I personally dislike the tapas-style nature of the restaurant (because all I want is a big plate of my favourite dish), but it's great for those who want a taste of Peruvian cuisine.

Try their Ceviche and Lomo Saltado, but not the Chifles as they were disappointing.

I don’t have a great track record with Peruvian food. My normally shockingly poor memory immediately conjures up recollections of dry-retching on the Arequipa to Puno coach, after a nasty run in with a spatchcocked guinea pig called Ivan. It was a dark day.

This was my first venture to Martin Morales’ Ceviche, and I was relieved to see that the menu was domestic pet-free one. As you’d expect from the name, there’s pescado and pisco aplomb – but there’s more than just a few raw fish dishes up its sleeve.

Unless you’re quasi-autistic with your social bookings, an early dinner is a needs-must to get a reservation. Even after 2 years dishing out South American treats Ceviche is still one of the hottest tables in town.

There’s a natural pairing here of quintessential Soho eatery (intimate, low key decor, no-booking dining at the bar) with well stocked Andean canteen. Our waiter was everything you want from a restaurant; knowledgable, attentive and non-pressurising, this was some of the best service I’ve ever had in London.

Get yourself some yucas (think parsnip chips) to share and a cocktail each as you ponder over what to order. It’s a cracking cocktail menu in itself, calling on the tall apothecary-like jars of infused piscos at the back of the restaurant. Massive shout outs go to the Sol & Lul – basically strawberry & rhubarb boiled sweets in a glass – and a Pisco Sour packing a lime punch below a heavenly froth.

Each dish came out in its own time and impressed as much as the last. Tequenos de Aji de Gallina (chilli chicken wanton fritters) were perfectly golden and succulent. It would be shameful to describe the Causa Santa Rosa as simply a beetroot salad. Layered with a coriander potato cake, mashed avocado, bright purple cubes beetroot and topped with a couple of tangerine-coloured plantain chips, it was an edible cactus flower as pretty as it was delicious. Not bad for a ‘side.’

Ceviche varieties were next. My Don Ceviche piled chunks of sea bass doused in lip smacking citrus and chilli, both sharp and hot without numbing you from the fish. It’s clear this is a product of Morales’ love affair with the Peruvian classic – enough to win over any picky eater, the bass is meaty yet still delicate, expertly flavoured and brought together with the sweet potato and red onion.

Though still good we weren’t quite as enamoured with the Navaja criolla. The presentation in long razor clam shells and crowned with orange salmon roe outdid the previous plat. Texture of the clam meat was a nice contrast to the seabass, but as soon as you got even a strand of salt-saturated purple seaweed every other flavour was donkey punched to the floor.

Tender beef heart skewers (Corazon Mio) came drizzled in an anticuchera sauce – we were recommended to eat these whilst they were still hot but I can’t imagine they’d have been any less delicious. Once we’d finished the heart, we hunted out the scattered kernels of choclo corn, pornographically garlicky and very moreish.

Prize for most unusual dish tonight – and coincidently where V drew the line – went to Panza & Higo. Cubes of pork belly skewered with confit pisco figs and served with a custardy sweet potato purée, it was always going to be a hard sell for someone that thinks putting pork with apple is heretical. I was completely won over, not least by the long shard of crackling laid across the top. Works every time.

The only dubious choice we made was the choclo corn cake with avocado. V aptly described this as a treacle sponge pudding without the treacle – it was just too dense and even with the tasty huancaina sauce there wasn’t enough moisture.

Ceviche is inviting from the off, colourful and inventive with its menu, and generally very fun to visit. Ivan and the vomit bus ride have been filed in the archives of my mind; I’m already booking my next visit.

Loved this place where it was café Emm. And it's pretty good now to. Tapas style dishes to share. Ranging from steak and chips to sashimi style fish. Still a fab atmosphere.

After trying Andina earlier in the month, I had reignited my love for Peruvian food and I really wanted to revisit the sister restaurant, Ceviche. As Mr Silver was yet to try Martin Morales' first London outpost it seemed the perfect venue for my next Saturday Soho Lunch Club.

I mentioned a little about Martin Morales' background in my Andina blog which you can read here. Morales started with a supper club and a series of pop-up restaurants, he spread the word through twitter and his temporary venues proved so popular that he gathered a team together to open his first restaurant, Ceviche.

Before Morales, Peruvian food was barely known in the UK but now the trend has swept the capital, even picking up Michelin stars in the case of Lima.

The restaurant interior was designed by fellow Peruvian, Jack Schneider, who chose every element of the interior with extreme care.

The bar is intended to be reminiscent of a fish market, including scales on the counter and a red wooden bar to represent the red boats in Lima's port.

The main restaurant is based on the Lima neighbourhood of Barranco. In particular, Bar Juanito, a regular haunt of Lima's bohemian crowd, poets and musicians. According to Ceviche's website the colours of the room, the wooden floor, tables, chairs and artifacts are all inspired by Bar Juanito. The restaurant was incredibly atmospheric but it wasn't as if Morales was trying to force Peru into London, rather it just felt like the Soho version of Lima!

Morales also includes a hero wall in the restaurant in order to celebrate key Peruvians, chefs, musicians, artists and painters.

Framed posters represent moments in Peruvian arts and culture.

I loved the interior of Ceviche, every little detail is considered so carefully. Even the loos! They are painted yellow to represent the main square in Lima. In the toilets you can listen to Peruvian comedy from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

The place really is something quite special and Morales' passion comes out at every turn.

Mr Silver and I took our table, ready to start our Peruvian feast.

After remembering my addiction to caucha corn at Andina, I gingerly ordered a portion. Once again I couldn't stop nibbling at the delicious salty snack.

Obvs the signature dish here is the ceviche! A raw fish dish marinated in the juice of citrus fruits, which is made fresh at the ceviche bar

We order the don ceviche, a fresh sea bass ceviche in amarillo chilli tiger's milk with lino chilli, sweet potato and red onions. At Ceviche the chefs are 'obsessive' about how long they marinate the fish for, what kind of lime they use, the kick from the chilli and the amount of salt that they add. The care and attention shows as the sea bass was simply perfection. The sour notes came through the fish perfectly with hints of chilli and a perfect crunch both from the sweet potato and the onion.

Tiradito of thinly sliced salmon in Nikkei tiger's milk made with satsuma, mirin, soya sauce and limo chilli.
I loved the Asian flavours that came through in this dish and the incredibly fresh salmon.

Our final ceviche was Pulpo al Olivo, braised octopus with Peruvian olive sauce and capers. I include this because it was a beautiful dish to admire, but I'm sorry to say we sent it back. The octopus was perfectly cooked but neither of us enjoyed the strong olive flavour of the sauce, which was only enhanced by the capers. I don't mean the dish wasn't well done, it just wasn't to our tastes. Try it if you love olives!

These were a gorgeous Peruvian version of a spring roll, with minced chicken inside. Interestingly, Peruvian food has a strong Chinese influence that has been incorporated into the local cuisine.

From the grilled skewers section we chose:

Chicken wings in panca chilli with mandarin juice and rocoto pepper jam. Mr Silver loves a good chicken wing!! I really appreciate the way Morales includes authentic South American ingredients, the rocoto pepper being a species of pepper found primarily in that region.

Grilled marinated salmon pieces with sweet cucumber and rocoto pepper pickle salad.

These were my favourite thing! Just slightly rare on the inside, the cooking was perfect and the cucumber salad was a great accompaniment, giving a cool crunch.

Main courses were:

Paiche fish steamed in a banana leaf with panca chilli, plantain and root vegetables. Paiche fish is native to the river Amazon in Brazil.

Diver caught scallops, locuma puree with aji lime and thyme. Locuma is a subtropical fruit native to Peru, although I love that Morales uses authentic Peruvian ingredients, I found the addition of the fruit, that tasted like a sweet potato, made the dish a little sickly and we both preferred the paiche fish main course.

After lunch we walked to Soho House for a warming cup of coffee and home made cookies. It was a bright day so we decided to walk off the food in Soho Square.

Another successful Saturday Soho Lunch Club! We both loved Ceviche and way Martin Morales brings Peru to Soho. The flavours of his food are clean and fresh, I'm so glad that the cuisine has come to London, I hope it stays for good.

Great little gem in the heart of Soho - perfect for meeting a friend for something quick and easy to eat. The flavours of the ceviche dishes are indescribably amazing, and the Pisco Sour cocktails are like none other - you'll keep going back for more. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly and attentive. Treat yourself to something fresh and give them a visit!

So I have come to the decision that this city sucks on a Sunday. Take the last one gone, for example. Led on the coach, counting down the hours until Monday, as the rain fell and Vettel carried on ruining Formula One for anyone with a personality.

OK, so none of that was London’s fault per se, but let’s go back a week. Last Sunday started well, a quest for Tapas. Easy, right? A few good places, including Opera Tavern in Covent Garden and Meson Don Felipe in Waterloo, were shut. The other one, Barrafina, in Soho, didn’t look the most welcoming place when we walked up to the door – all the chefs seemed to be having some kind of tobacco-fuelled team meeting-slash-strike on the tables outside. Luckily, we turned one-eighty and spied Ceviche, a blue and orange facade on the other side of Frith Street.

Before I heard of Ceviche, I only associated Peru with llamas and therefore with Llamas with Hats. Ceviche isn’t strictly tapas, but its unusual (for London) Peruvian cuisine and Pisco bar has been on my hit-list for a long time. And yes, it was open, so we had to take a look.

The rather drab interior (imagine a student living room spruced up by some quirky Latin posters and semi-open kitchen) belies some quality touches in terms of taste and food. The concise wine list should be ignored in favour of Pisco cocktails, ranging from the tart Pisco Sour to serious cocktail envy caused by the fruity Pisco Punch, all the way to slightly more original variations on Peru’s favourite grape brandy such as the Illapa, a citrusy little nutjob made with a personal favourite bottle, Chase Marmalade Vodka. All were special in their own idiosyncratic way, and none disappointed.

It’s (literally) refreshing to have Pisco on offer, even though if you are after cocktails, there is little else to choose from. In a similar vein is the Lima-inspired menu, heavily-led with seafood (hence the name of the restaurant), consisting of small plates, salads, nibbles and anticuchos (skewers, to you and I). The food is a delightful mix of light and fluffy plates of colour and texture, alongside industrial-style barbecue.

Grab some plantain chips and fried cassava to munch while you wait for the rest, yet you’ll still be eating it when plates of sea bass ceviche, floating on chilli tiger’s milk arrive. Salmon with satsuma is equally airy, and for a seafood-skeptic like myself, was a bit of surprising turning point in what I may order from restaurants in the future. Kicking things back down to basics were dishes like the braised octopus and chorizo skewers, smokey and deep with flavour and blackened to perfection, as well as duck with dark beer rice, a dish so vast that it finished off the meal. The trouble with tapas, be it from east of the Atlantic or west, is that you never know how much to order. So you go big.

We weren’t in Ceviche for long – service is brisk and as you might imagine from anywhere with Latin fever, a little bit chaotic, but there was nothing to complain about, even the prices. Being one of the few places open on a Sunday evening, the tables, packed close together, started to fill up rapidly so we made haste for a bar nearby.

Oh yes, that’s right. They were all closed.

Spearheading the new wave of Peruvian food in Central London, Ceviche has taken up its spot in the newly invigorated (some would say gentrified) Dean and Frith Street in Soho. Every week there seems to be a new batch of mid-range venues being added and as one of the most open-minded of areas in London, it's good to see some interesting new cuisines appearing in this dynamic quarter. Within South America, Peru has a reputation for being very much a foodie country, combining many different kinds of starchy vegetables (including a bewildering selection of potatoes and sweet potatoes) from the fertile sacred valley inland with some of the world's finest fish from the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Ceviche has taken up the theme of a pisco bar, that is to say a tapas bar (with tapas portions to boot) serving Peruvian food. Needless to say there is an equally strong focus on the alcohol side, especially at the bar area at the front. Out of the signature dishes, we ordered the Don ceviche, which was very good and the tiradito, which was not up to the same standard. The grilled octopus was excellent in taste but let down massively by portion size, being dwarfed by the accompanying chorizo. The causa mar was ok, and not a great reflection on one of Peru's star ingredients (the humble potato). The ensalada di quinoa was comparable to what you would find in the many cafes and restaurants in London serving quinoa, nothing extraordinary. Finally the dessert was not bad, but let down again by miniscule portion size.

All in all, It was the value overall that was a slight let-down for me. I'm not someone who usually complains about portion sizes, but it did not feel substantial enough for the price that we paid overall for the meal. I think they attempt to run at a price point and in the style of something like Salt Yard, where the prices are justified by using high quality ingredients that can be hard to get hold of. However, I am glad that there is a local Peruvian restaurant now in London. Hopefully there will be more that follow, but it would be nice if they would run at a slightly lower price point, even if the dishes are slightly less elaborate. The next time I go to Ceviche, I would be inclined to treat it more as a bar with very good small eats (the ceviche is definitely the stand-out dish) rather than a restaurant on its own.

Enjoyed the food, I had a couple of starters, the pork rolls and the chicken and specially the latter was delicious and different. I also felt the portion sizes were good. However, my mocktail was a joke. @£6.50 for the smallest glass I've ever seen with mostly froth and barely any drink. I regret not complaining about it as it was ridiculous. Other than that, lovely food.

I had a lunch here with a friend last Friday and it was a lovely time. Food quality is very good with pulled pork roll being the highlight. We had pisco sour, one raspberry and one passion fruit flavour, both was nice. Service was great. Ambience wise, the room can be a little bit brighter and if something can be done to stop cigarette smell getting inside the room, it would have been perfect. Overall I’d recommend.

Ceviche Soho is an outstanding restaurant that provides exceptional Peruvian cuisine with a touch of modern flair. My wife and I visited this restaurant back in March, and we had an incredible experience. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Firstly, the food was exceptional. We ordered the Peruvian ceviche, and it tasted extremely fresh. The fish was marinated in citrus juice, mixed with onion and coriander, and served with sweet potato and corn. It was a perfect blend of flavors and textures, and the presentation was beautiful. The portion size was perfect, and it was a great starter for our meal. My wife ordered the Lomo Saltado, which was a traditional Peruvian dish with beef, onions, tomatoes, and French fries. The flavors were bold and delicious, and the beef was cooked to perfection. We also ordered a side of Peruvian-style fried rice, which was a great complement to our main dishes. Overall, the food was outstanding, and we would definitely come back to try more of their dishes. Secondly, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter was particularly helpful and made some great recommendations. We were impressed by how quickly our food was served, and the staff checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. However, we did notice a slight issue with the bathroom. One of them had a horrible smell, and unfortunately, we were seated near the stairs leading to the bathrooms. This was a bit unpleasant, but it did not detract too much from our overall experience. Lastly, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. The decor was stylish and modern, and the lighting was perfect for a romantic dinner. The music was lively and upbeat, and it added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. We appreciated the attention to detail, and we felt very comfortable throughout our meal. The restaurant was quite busy, but the noise level was manageable, and we were able to enjoy our conversation without any disturbance. In conclusion, Ceviche Soho is an outstanding restaurant that provides exceptional Peruvian cuisine with a touch of modern flair. We had a great experience, and we would definitely recommend it to others. The food was amazing, and the service was excellent. The only minor issue we encountered was the unpleasant smell in one of the bathrooms, but this did not detract too much from our overall experience. If you're looking for a great dining experience, we highly recommend Ceviche Soho.

Went for a dinner on a Friday night. The bar and the restaurant were packed. Not uncomfortably so, but just figured it would be hard to get a seat without reservations. The food, service, waiting time, prices, and general ambience were really good. Never felt like we had to wait. Staff were always nearby and checking in regularly. All the starters we had were pretty good. Favourite would have to be the crispy chicken and beef heart. Calamari was yum too, but when is it ever not? 😉 For the main I ordered the grilled octopus and chorizo -- and that was incredible. If you can eat meat, get it. You won't regret it. All in all, a good experience, one I'd be tempted to return for.

One of my favourite affordable restaurants to go to on a casual night out. A good selection of food options - love the ceviche - especially the salmon one and the artichoke causa! The corn cake is a must try if you’ve never had it before. For dessert, I recommend the Dulce de Leche! Nice staff and cozy ambience. 4 and not 5 stars because it’s great but needs a little more to reach that WOW effect

Stellar service from the lady who seated us (probably the manager), and who was working really hard on a busy weekend 🏆 We got the chicken to try something out of the usual, and when it came realised we wanted a bit more kick so got a little pot of the chilli sauce that comes with other dishes, really nice flavours. Beef heart skewers (pictured) were delicious, and served with a soft white corn (I was expecting crunchy, but was soft more like sweetcorn).

Booked Ceviche on the recommendation of 2 friends. Service was perfect - from how they dealt with a broken glass (sorry!) to how they dealt with my friend querying the difference between the sizes of cocktail - always with warmth and good humour. Food was wonderful, and service was relaxed and attentive. A restaurant to add to my regular rotation!

As a Latin American individual who loves to cook, I was super excited to come and eat here. It was good. We had three of the ceviches. One was on point. The other two needed work. The citrus was way overdone and not as layered in flavour as leche de tigre in Peru. The anticuchos were fantastic and the donuts were yummy. It’s on the pricey side for the portion size.

Man oh man! The food was awesome so many awesome flavors so little time. Recommend getting reservations for a table but you can eat at the bar. I loved watching the ceviche being created right behind the bar. The Corn and Tamales was very interesting. The corn kernels are HUGE. The food was so good I missed getting a picture... Sorry

Great place for dinner with friends. The food is good, but not fantastic. I liked the ambience, and it wasn't too loud to have a conversation. Atmosphere seemed pretty relaxed overall. Service was good as well, with dishes arriving without too much of a wait - very friendly staff! Some of the cocktails were on the small side though. Would come back here :)
