A great example of an Indian restaurant. The space is comfortable and clean. The quality of the food, fantastic! Full of flavour and well sized portions. The diversity in the menu, as is most often the case with Indian restaurants, able to satisfy most palates.

The only thing lacking was service...

Hard truth but only a handful of places in London serve authentic Indian food and Masala Zone is one of them. One of the best Indian food I've had in London . The dishes that I ordered and the chef also recommends are :
Chilli potato crisps
Non veg Thali
Pav Bhaji
Butter chicken
Dal makhni
Chicken Biryani.
Many times visitors from other countries don't know about good Indian food in Londres , but every native knows about this amazing place. Bit pricey but worth every penny!

My mum loves it here. Our favourite Indian chain. Had a lovely aubergine curry the other day. This would be a 5* if it were slightly better value for money

it was new years eve and we were lucky enough to get a table at this classic place!!.. we were craving for some indian food and this place was the perfect junction for it!! as soon as u enter the interiors and the ambience of this place impress you to the core!!..its beautiful... coming to the food it’s delicious 😋.. not as spicy as we are used to but just the best u can expect in london!!.. the rogan josh the chicken tikka and the biryani... amazing.. though its a bit heavy on the pocket but u wont mind for an amazing experience!! one special mention for the manager on duty who provided us with a replacement for a chicken tikka own his own.. because he thought that the first one wasn’t properly cooked.. never seen that in india and will never forget this gesture .. thank u guyz!!

This place has very good food, ambience and service but ...

Very few vegan options, infact if my memory serves me right : the only vegan options were - Navratan Korma, Khichdi. Everything else has some non vegan ingredients in it.
Multiple vegetarian options available.
The problem with Indian cuisine at most places is they make it with Malai and Ghee (cream and butter) to add richness and flavour. So vegans may have a little hard time unless, the chef is willing to leave out the butter for your portion. Because I can guarantee you - all of these dishes can be made without any milk product as well. And they would taste just as amazing, but the chef has to be willing to do that :D
Overall great place to enjoy a vegetarian meal whether you want to have a nice biryani or thaali or anything else authentic and tasty.

They say a place found by accident turns out to be the best. This place was wonderful, the food was just perfect not too spicy not too bland either. Their Undhiyo was done to perfection too.

But what made this place better was the ambience and the good natured staff.

The piece de resistance was the tasteful decor with some really nostalgia evocative posters from days gone by.

Enjoyable Experience. Masala Zone Bayswater was enjoyable. Service was attentive and prices were more than fair. Three of us dined and we had appetizers and curries. All of the dishes were well prepared and nice portion sizes. Not the greatest Indian food in London for sure, but if you are in the area and want a relaxed quality meal, you can't go wrong with Masala Zone.

The chicken biriyani is what I ordered and there’s a generous amount balanced with a serve of some spicy dhal and a serve of raitha. The biriyani had loose grains, pretty good flavour but just needed a touch more seasoning to elevate the taste of the dish.

A very enjoyable and tasty meal. Service was very good, kitchen in full view so you can see exactly what is going on, which I like. The curries were nicely flavoured and filling. Very good value for money.

Well, we ate here too with the kids! Amazing atmosphere, the paintings are authentic and cultural. The meal was served quickly and presentation was second to none. I ordered the pistachio kulfi for dessert, it was the best I've ever eaten outside India! I will be sure to return, thank you to the staff for being so welcoming

The best masala zone in London. Fabulous location, warm service and delicious food. The decor is very inviting and it's always a very nice feeling once inside. I'm vegetarian and I love every dish here. The aloo mutter curry, dal, everything is delightful. This restaurant has got the whole combination of ambience, taste, quantity and price right. Absolute must-visit

London, unlike many worldwide destinations has created a distinct ability to form a new type of cuisine. For example, your average Indian joint is unlikely to be very authentic as you would find it in say, the country of India.. but nonetheless great tasting and with a bit of London taste entwined! However, every now and again it would be nice to try something that is truly as it would be back in the country of origin, full of quality and taste. Essentially, this is how I would describe Masala Zone, a real essence of authentic food. Although there is ample choice, I would recommend the Gol Guppa as a starter and a grant Thali (plate) as a main. Service, location both good also

Every now and then we all feel the need to eat the food from Mum's kitchen. The quintessential flavour of the home cooked comfort food. This is true for an Indian person too, so believe it or not the hundreds and hundreds of Indian restaurants and curry houses that serve food in London isn't what a common Indian household food tastes like. There are a very few restaurants that can keep the taste and health factor to that optimum level to make it taste very, very close to the food from an Indian Mum's kitchen and Masala Zone is one of them.

We went to the Masala Zone in Bayswater for a dinner. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant in my opinion. It has a huge collage of pop art from old Indian films to the wrappers of fire crackers that used to be sold around the "Diwali" (festival) - really colourful. They have a branch of Masala Zone in 6 other prominent locations around London and each place depicts a different aspect of Indian history and culture through its decor. The service is A++ as well, very patient and attentive. Tables are well spread out so you get your own space without having to worry about kicking someone's chair or listening to an awkward conversation from the next table.

Any way cutting to the chase, How is the food? Like I said its like a feast made at home. So delicious and yet never over powering (in terms of spice, oil, aroma or hotness), it is just PERFECT. I ate the grand thali which offers a bit of everything and you could choose the curry you want from chicken, veg, lamb, fish and prawn. The remaining ingredients in the thali change everyday so it could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on whether you are looking for a change or the same old stuff. Now for the downside, the Indian street food on offer however tempting, is not of the best taste which is funny because Mum's some how never get the street food right.

The menu is unique and creative, the service is great, food is excellent for most parts, prices are little higher than rest of the Indian joints in London and its hygienic. So all in all - must try.

It’s a good place right on the corner of Bayswater offering Indian Thali’s! Taste was okay, not that good. Service could have been better! Staff was very polite though and helpful! Only major con is the price…it’s costly with the level of food quality being served!

The food is amazing. Everything we ordered was beautifully served and with great taste. Great staff service and beautiful decoration. Perfect for a pleasant diner with friends, family or a date. I highly recommend the aloo tikki chaat as a starter and for the main course the Paneer Makhanwalla accompanied by rice and Naan!

Really good authentic flavours good portions and a good service. I believe the restaurant can be cleaner there was a mouldy leak in the ceiling that was dripping on the floor, wasn’t a pleasant sight even if it was far from our table.

Food was really nice overall. Karan our waiter was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable. Can you confirm he will receive the service charge paid as per our conversation? I have to say that the food tasted traditional(the traditional dishes) however the price and quantity per dish did not match. I would visit again possibly after a very long time, prices would need to change for me to visit regularly. Ordered 7 starters, 3 mains, 5 naans, 8 drinks and the bill came to just under £200 including service, these are close to fine dining prices where I know also the portions would be small. As this is not fine dinning like Amaya, Chutney Mary and Veeraswamy which are your fine dinning branches. To be very critical: Starters (portions could be bigger) - Chicken 65 was slightly dry but fine, could have also done with a thicker coating for more flavour. Real taste of India. - Cheese balls were amazing - Wings tasted fine nothing special, could have been bigger - Kebabs were really nice and soft and flavourful - Chicken tikka really nice - Paneer which was made in branch was so good! - Vada Pow could have done with more flavour - Accompanying Chutneys were really nice! Mains (good sizes) - Lamb Rogan very tasty - Chicken Mangalore again very tasty and spicy - Paneer Makhanwala delicious - Naan breads were nice and soft Thank you for the complimentary Masala Brownie. If you're looking for a waiter please let me know. @nayanenvy on Instagram. Many thanks!

Visited for a birthday party. Restaurant wants too busy so we had great service. Good atmosphere and decorations. Reasonable price. Delicious food. I had butter chicken thali - the metal tray with lots of different thing on it: veg, lentils, yoghurt, rice, curry popadum and chutney. Starters - aloo potatoe cake and samosa were also good. Masala tea was ok - not much flavour. We brought our own Cake for the birthday - no problems.

Found this through reviews and on our last night in London decided to try it for dinner. Service was very attentive and helpful. We have had Indian cuisine back in the States, but were pleasantly surprised with the flavors here. Food was hot and served quickly. A great end to our trip here.

Amazing experience A more premium aesthetic than the creepily decorated Covent garden branch and much more available for bookings. The waiter was pleasant and described our fishes to us. The Thalis were excellent. The lentils served with the butter chicken thali was a bit spicy for me. The portion sizes are good, with a thali and dessert I was left feeling full but not bloated. I arranged over the phone to have a candle put on a dessert got someone's birthday, I think the waiter misunderstood and served the birthday boy 2 desserts. I guess that made his day even more special!

Visited just before lockdown and they were practicing social distancing. Unfortunately tables that customers are sat at were still a bit too close. While the table next to you is empty, tables diagonal to you are still extremely close by. Food is good and service is quick.

Had the lamb Rogan Josh and chili chicken which were pretty good. Very accomodating of our baby. Very quick service with the food (not just starter but also main), quicker than our other guests had arrived! The chocolate brownie ice cream was great, too.

Portions could be slightly bigger for the price and the window tables could be little warmer ( Insulation on windows of small heater)
