Such a cute cafe with an absolutely cozy ambience.the prices are reasonable , the food is delicious and the staff is highly professional and friendly too . Highly recommended.
Loved the food. Very nice waitress.
Went here in July during the peak summer morning for a breakfast. The place was very busy but fortunately we got a table.
It took a while for them to get the order. The waitress initially was very rude but then another person took over who was soft spoken and quite swift in getting the order.
We ordered English Breakfast and Pancakes.
The English breakfast was amazing and the bacon was just melting in the mouth. The pancakes were good as well.
Overall experience was good.
Great food, great drink, great atmosphere. I got the Family Recipe Fish Pie and a gin based cocktail. It's pretty busy, so either get here before the lunch rush or be prepared to sit at the bar seats. Regardless, would recommend!
It's a really good place for brunch. From pancakes to omelette everything is healthy and fresh. We ordered omelette, pancake and orange juice.
Passing by Muriel’s kitchen everyday to catch the bus at south kens. Watching crowds of people queue waiting to be seated. Today I decided to give it a try. I ordered the pancakes with berry Greek yoghurt and the Buda poached eggs with black quinoa , avocado and roast potatoes. Food is good , service is great, staff are friendly and quick ... price is good for the portion you’ll get . Highly recommended
Andava há procura de um sítio para almoçar e através do Zomato encontrei este maravilhoso restaurante. A comida é ótima e o pessoal muito simpático. Recomendo
Plenty of healthy options for lunch.. what I love is the carrot cake and the blueberry cheesecake. Cakes are not too sweet and the carrot cake was very moist.
Cute place for brunch. Service was slow, I like the food. They have vegetarian dishes as well. It's healthy, nutritious and delicious! Reasonable price.
Great place for brunch, amazing food and lovely presentation! Normally a long que to get in, specially on the weekends since the space is quite small. Staff is also not the most attentive and friendly, they forgot part of our order which took a long time to come afterwards but a discount on the bill
Was given to us
This is the perfect bright, cheerful spot for a lengthy brunch with friends or equally a quick weekday lunch. I popped in on a busy Monday afternoon for a quick lunch and it was such a treat all around.
The place was packed but I was quickly found a spot at the bar. The service was a little inconsistent as all the waiters seemed to be very busy but I did get everything I needed.
I had a lovely strong cappuccino followed by the homemade lasagne. It was truly one of the best lasagnes I've ever had! Perfectly gooey cheese, many layers of thin pasta and a very tasty meaty ragu.
The giant scotch eggs looked absolutely delicious and I was so sad I didn't have room to try one! Definitely on my list for my next visit.
Visited for breakfast, the place was packed but managed to get a table big enough for us.
The service was great and the food was exceptional. I ordered the Champions Breakfast which had the eggs on top of crushed avocado with honey and chili. I would definitely come back on my next visit to London.
Highly recommended.
Resto was packed for lunch the day we came. The service was ok but the rating is more for the food quality and the ambiance. Nice place for brunch.
Such a friendly place! Nice restaurant to go for a set of cheese, eggs and pate with a pot of tea or a glass of sparkling wine.
Service is quick and professional.
After waiting 15 minutes for a table, we were seated in the loud and bustly area filled with people of all ages- family friendly with a menu that accommodates every taste and dietary requirement, this is an ideal place to come as a group, at any time of day. The service was quick and attentive, especially given how busy the place was, and the food was fantastic. Get the mulled wine!
this little gem in the heart of South Kensington served just not a beautiful food (most organic) but it is also the perfect place to relax and chill in any season. definitely recommend it.
Nice cafe/restaurant in South Kensington. I tried the tortilla and their quinoa salad with a latte for a late lunch when I was visiting London. The food was great the coffee unfortunately wasn't as good. The service was pretty good though and so was the people watching bar I was seated at!
Great english breakfest, lovely interior, kind service. Eggs Benedict with potatoe rosti is wonderful. I like the interior decorations - full of inspiration.
I don't know why I always forget to take pictures of the food!
Had the recommended chicken curry, the grilled salmon and the amazing dulce de leche brownie (because of which we walked in, in the first place). And of course my cappuccino. Loved the food, it was fresh, looked fantastic.
The mango chutney and papads which came with the curry was outstanding. Very little chicken. Though I prefer vegetarian food anyway.
The service was a bit slow but overall, good experience. The salad and veggies were so fresh, the coffee was great. Will go and try the two other outposts.
A delicious selection of baked goods. Recommended for that. Although their hot dishes are not so good. Their salads are tasty too. In summary, their preprepared dishes seem paradoxically to be much better than their made to measure cousins.
Loved the place. Although it was busy but I really enjoyed the meal. The salmon was especially good. According to the waiter, it seems they keep changing their menu monthly so I'm not sure the same food will be available beyond the month of my visit.
Pretty Good. I have been to the cafe three times in the last couple of weeks. Being a local in south ken its just what we needed! I think the comments below are are bit exaggerated to say the least. I have found the staff friendly and the food pretty good, its basic but good enough qualitiy. The atmosphere is just what you need after a day at the office and i think the wine selection is on key.
After a visit to the Natural History Museum I was drawn to the window display of sweets at Muriel’s Kitchen in South Kensington. I had a simple dish of grilled haloumi and roast veg kebabs with a side salad of beetroot, apple and broad bean salad. Such great flavour combinations.
Muriel's Kitchen is a gorgeous cafe (with an amazing cake display) based on the concept of one of the proprietor's grandmother's kitchen. It's beautifully homey and the food all looks like something my own gran would have cooked (if she had such styled crockery).
It's common sense. The more touristy a place is, the more likely that the neighbouring restaurants will be over-priced and will serve up mediocre fare. So finding Muriel's Kitchen nestled next to South Kensington station was like finding a diamond in the rough.
Had breakfast here and the food came so fat. Its a small place and there is a queue . Try coming early to avoid the queue. Its such a warm ambience people close to each other and food was very tasty and portions were just fine for the price.
I love South Ken but it’s a very touristy area primarily due to the museums and hotels around. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much around there in terms of brunch but it’s changed quite a lot recently with coffee shops and cafés that have opened up. Even then, I didn’t know some where different and new to go for brunch. So luckily I came across Muriel’s Kitchen. A peak inside was enough to make me come back again and again (not to mention the window display- gets me EVERY time!) They’ve got a counter where you can order food from or sit inside (lots of natural light which is fantastic!) and order from their menu. My friend and I loved their brunch menu and had some super healthy options (even green juice- stuff a health nut’s dreams are made of!)
The second time I came back, I tried the meatballs and my friend ordered their lasagne. The portions were quite big so they can easily be shared between two people if you’re not too hungry. If you’re around South Kensington and want to try something new, Muriel’s Kitchen is definitely one to try!
I recently tried this place and was quite impressed with it. The coffee offered here is amazing. The food is pretty good but seemed a little expensive for what it was worth. The ambience is lovely and is pretty comfortable. This place can get packed easily but that makes the experience all the more fun. The service is just amazing with the staff being quite warm and friendly.
I happened to visit this place for an early breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, especially my pancakes. The ambience is just fine and the service was pretty efficient. The staff is quite warm and friendly and would love to go back to this place again.
In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful and cute place to have a meal at and this is why this made for an appropriate location for me and my partner to enjoy a lovely breakfast.
The menu is quite limited for the breakfast items but it was just enough for our taste. The portion size seem varied for different items. The cakes looked appetizing!
The service was quick and efficient.
I will definitely return to try the remaining items for sure! Such an adorable place.
Located amidst the busy South Kensington station, this place remind me of a healthy joint in California. The food served here is healthy and exudes newness and is reasonably priced. The salad box on offer here is a healthy and fresh option for people who want food 'on the go'.
As for the service, it was spotless and spectacular in every way possible. Not over crowded, this place makes the best option for a quick bite if you happen to be in the area.
This place serves flawless food and if it was just about the food, nothing beats this restaurant. However, I was faced with a few negative points too. The restaurant space is actually quite cramped. There is absolutely no leg room, and the tables are very close together. The hostess is over-enthusiastic and annoying, but she was just doing her job. But the food tastes incredible, The orange juice was full of heavenly goodness, and the coffee was delicious. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon, eggs and some vegetables. It was made with the best cheddar cheese, and the eggs were delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the ketchup was gourmet and tasty. It was the best breakfast I have had in a while.
I would recommend all you people that whenever you visit this place, try their brownie and mocha coffee. The brownie came with vanilla ice-cream and was delicious. I must say that they really know how it is meant to be. Their mocha coffee was also sublime. It had a kind of a smoothness and a taste that wasn't bitter which is the case with most of the coffees. I also tried beef lasagne but that was too much meat and not enough taste. Also, the sitting space is quite limited but I would definitely recommend you all to go and try their brownie and mocha coffee. I am sure that you will definitely like both of them.
We came to this place for high tea and we are glad that we chose this place. We went for the tea and cakes and they were quite good and complementing each other perfectly. The view from the restaurant is quite incredible to look at. Would be coming back here again to try out their salads.
The place offers delectable food, which is a great respite from greasy pub food. The place has a variety of cakes in its display window, which look very delicious. I ordered the pea soup here with raisin bread and it was mouth-watering and extremely delectable. The food is a bit over-price though, but totally worth it.
We were visiting as a party of six, and two of us arrived a little in advance. We were shown to a really nice booth of six seats, of which two were occupied. As the rest of our party arrived, we started ordering. We each ordered a different egg dish, and they all arrived hot and delicious-looking. I was initially served the wrong order, but I was apologized to, and served a complimentary pot of tea. When my egg entree arrived, it tasted as good as any. We also ordered many drinks along with our meals, and except for the milkshakes which were lukewarm, they were all delicious. We loved the vibrant atmosphere, and would definitely come back.
To begin with the staff is welcoming, attentive and amicable. Very delighted with their attention and servicing. Coming to their menu, they offer a brilliant selection of wines and beer to choose from. The food here is out of the world. A petite, warm and petite place, has lot to offer! A must try!
This nice little place we went to was full and so we ended up waiting for quite some time before we were seated at a table but the place was well worth the wait. Everything was so wonderfully yummy, perfectly cooked, and had a home made appeal to them. It's a wonderful place and i recommend it to all.
We’ve tried the Muriel's kitchen on many occasions for breakfast. The reason for the frequents visits was the great taste of the food. The atmosphere was friendly and had a vibrant feel. This place is usually busy and you may have to wait for a table. However, it is definitely worth the wait. The breakfast menu is extensive and we decided to try the Lebar eggs. It indeed was a delight to try, with a deep orange and creamy yolk cooked just to perfection. There are lovely freshly squeezed juices available for those who are health conscious and the regular options of hot beverages like coffee. They have a massive cake selection, but the portions of the breakfast were always big enough to fill us up each time.
I had a great and memorable experience here. The interiors of the place are wonderful and very welcoming. The service is great and the staff are so helpful and kind. The food in my opinion, was great and tasted as though it was prepared at home.
A favorite with my kids were the cup cakes!
I work near this place only and whenever I am low on energy the first thought that comes in my mind is that I must go here.
A glass of fresh orange juice is the best thing that will let you help regaining your strength.
This place is open till late so you can regain your power anytime.
Highly recommended.
This is one of the most amazing cafes that I have been to. When I say amazing, it is both in terms of its décor as well as the variety on offer. The atmosphere was quite relaxed and the service was also pretty standard. This cafe offers a variety of cakes and you will find it difficult to make a choice among the most well-presented and delicious-looking cakes.
After I visited the museum nearby, I was attracted to this place by the wondrous display of bakery items in South Kensington. I ordered the haloumi and kebabs along with other dishes. All of my orders were clearly carefully prepared and had a very unique taste. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I will be returning here again.
A quick glance at this place and you will think you are in for a treat here. Me and my daughter decided this place to dine at because of their opulent ambiance. My daughter ordered fish and chips and i went for beef lasagna. The food was good but nothing great, also i felt it was quite expensive.
I visited this restaurant with a group of friends. We were shown the menu, but unfortunately we did not like any thing in particular and decided to leave. Just as we left, I saw a member of staff imitating and mocking us, which was shocking and displeasing. I even sent a complain via email to the restaurant but did not get any response from them. Never going back.
This place reminded me of a cartoon series that we used to watch in childhood but I can not really get the name of that.
This place was charming from inside and that was really unexpected for me.
I would love to go to this place again and this time I will try and look for the name of that cartoon series.
Such a cutie little cafe with wholesome breakfast. We ordered the champions breakfast along with the filled croissant and an omlette and muriels sandwich. Ill let the pictures speak for themselves.
the portions were perfect. Not too much and not too little. Just enough to get you going for the day.
The food was super delicious and the staff were overly nice which we enjoyed. Definitely coming back here. The interior is super adorable.
I went here for breakfast a tuesday and it was almost full. I got a place next to the window which was perfectly fine for me since I could sit down and watch people walking by.
It took really long time for someone to come and take my order though, I had to remind them. Luckily I wasn't in a rush.
I had their Champions breakfast and I must say the two poached egg where of perfection. The sandwich overall was good but nothing spectacular. They have good coffee and I had a fresh orange juice which was great.
Muriel's Kitchen is a place where everyone can feel like home. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting.
A nice place to go for breakfast, quite expensive but good food.
Great for breakfast. The cappuccino is very nice. Unfortunately you hear the underground trains passing by under ground, not too noisy but still disturbs some of the morning glory.
Muriel's Kitchen is a little gem. Its shopfront window, adorned with countless cakes and pastries, make it a struggle for me to ever walk past without going in. For a casual lunch or afternoon tea, you really can't go wrong. The food is always fresh, flavoursome and served in very generous helpings. The cosy atmosphere and the cheerful, bubbly staff make it easy to while away several hours here. Dessert is a must have; try the chocolate bread and butter pudding or the tooth-achingly sweet lemon meringue pie. But if you really can't squeeze it in, you can always get it to take away with you.
This is a really nice restaurant. I've been there on regular basis for long lunch breaks from the library. It's upmarket food but not expensive, the portions are just the right size and the staff is extremely friendly. I recommend the food and advise you to keep space for pudding!
The decor is very well done, it's clean and modern but not overly done so keeps that 'mum's kitchen at home' feel to it.
Overall, this is a great place to go eat or even take someone on a lunch or tea date!
I am a regular at Muriel's kitchen when it comes to coffee. I love the cafe mocha and the people here know how to make one. Also they have the best chocolate cake and carrot cake. The cake slices are very large and it will not be easy to polish one off by yourself. I haven't really tried the savoury dishes here but the chicken curry and lasagna looks yummy. The ambiance of the place is very relaxed and this is an ideal place to go for lunch.
Great staff, service and food! The staff were really friendly and checked in with us about our food. The food and coffee were delicious- perfectly done scrambled eggs on avocado sourdough toast.
Excellent brunch place. LOVED the Buddha Bowl and the Eggs halloumi!! The ricotta and bananas pancakes are a must! 🤍 also the only waiter today was absolutely a pleasure to deal with. Will be back next week ✨☀️
great restaurant loved the atmosphere ,
I visited on our last day of our trip winter-2019
we enjoyed the breakfast, great coffee too.
We visited London Oct 2018 and ate here a couple of times. The food was so delicious and fresh! We loved everything we tried. The waiters were really friendly and the atmosphere was fresh, bright, and cozy. It's a small restaurant, but we never had to wait too long to get a table.
Was very surprised by this place, it looks nice but nothing special- had amazing eggs with avocado, really high quality
Busy but pleasant place for brunch, lunch, or just a warm tea and cake. The vegan options are tasty and the service is quick despite the rush. They could use some bag hooks beneath the bar tables since everyone comes in laden with scarves, coats, and handbags, with nowhere to put them. The carrot cake lives up to its fame, so make sure you try it!
Delicious food but slightly small in portion, very busy in the morning.
Perfect spot for a great breakfast and yummy mocha latte! So excited that they offer Oat Milk!!! Service was attentive and quick. Highly recommend!!!
