Looking for a great pizza and a great setting? Try Franco Manca. They create authentic pizza with a nice choice of variations. They service was a it slow and I had to wave at the waiter several times to get his attention. Worth a try.
I went to Franco Manca some time ago and their menu seems to changed a bit....This is the place to go for excellent pizza but, its a trek from the centre....generous portions and quick service is what I remember. Try the Gloucester Old Spot ham pizza.....its delicious.
It's never easy dining in a pizzeria when you are gluten-intolerant...the alternative often leaves a lack-luster impression on my taste buds. Although in honesty I didn't get to try the famous sourdough based pizzas at Franco Manca- they did a brilliant job of accommodating all my 'awkward' needs - Gluten free, Lactose free and vegetarian...
I was able to provide the staff with a base of my own and they added the most wonderful toppings for me and didn't even charge a penny for it. Thank you to the extra wonderful manager for being so kind and also the team for allowing me to have the best experience possible along with my fellow diners...who all had the signature pizzas and loved every bite!
If you have read my blog before you probably know that I love Neapolitan pizza, and one of my favourite places to get it is Franco Manca. As mentioned previously I’m impress that even they have had a massive growth in the number of restaurants they have been quite successful retaining the authenticity and quality of the initial small place in Brixton.
The pizzas are quite good, but you just have a few choices on the menu. Not bad for being a chain but not one of my favourites. Service is ok.
not really the best pizza in london! of course can't be compare to dominos, Pizza Hut and other those crap chains. but unfortunately for them in london you can find much better!! price is fine which is good for the quality and staff not bad!
I'm not a fan of pizza, and did not expect much of this place however, my initial thoughts were overturned. The pizza tastes delicious, and does not take a long time to make. The prices are also reasonable (much cheaper than other pizza restaurants). If you want quality pizza, I would definitely recommend dining in here. The staff are also very friendly. The only element of the restaurant which I didn't like was the seating, which could be more comfortable and would improve my experience there. Overall however, I would definitely recommend dining at Franco Manca, and I recommend getting the Gloucester old spot ham, mozzarella, buffalo ricotta, and wild mushroom pizza (which was delicious). Pizza sizes are very generous, and certainly filling.
Looking to eat a good quality pizza for a small price? This is the place to go to (and all other Franco Manca in London). Don't stop there if you are looking for a nice romantic place. It is always packed and the tables next to you are really close. But when you don't feel like cooking and fancy some home made pizza, here you are. We had 2 pizza number 4 (with ham, our favourite) and a bottle of wine, for 30gbp! And don't be afraid by the queue, it is always moving quickly!
Best pizza ever, these guys know what to do, good pizza at a small price, of course the service is not as a 5 star hotel but if you want a fast pizza these is the place!!!
I have clearly led a deprived life, never made it to the original and popped into the Chiswick branch in their first full week and had the finest Pizza I had had in England. Ever. Number 1 and a tumbler of red, all of about £7.50 and heaven. I gather they are trying to fit in with West London and allow booking. They don't need it yet, but they deserve to soon.

For great pizza, you can’t go wrong at Franco Manca. The Chiswick branch is fantastic, and I have little doubt that the other nine will be much the same. It’s a hard one to score, being that pizza is not a complex cuisine to master. Franco Manca is easily a 7/10, and would have equalled GB Pizza Co with 8/10 if there were more meat options for non-pork eaters.
All I can say is, you have to try Franco Manca! Their dough is delcious and the ingredients are super fresh! And with this weather, dining outside is a delight!
Franco Manca specialise in serving fresh sourdough pizza baked in wood burning brick oven. With six sites dotted around London, we visited the Chiswick High Street restaurant. The wood ovens are made in Naples and produces a heat of about 500 degrees centigrade. The website states that the blast cooking process locks in the flour's natural aroma and moisture giving a soft and easily digestible crust. With 6 options on the menu, a few specials and options to add toppings, the menu is short and to the point. The decor is simple and efficient, with coat hooks next to each wall side table being a nice touch. I decided on the meat special with wild pig capocollo, Parmigiano Reggiano, mozzarella, organic tomato and watercress. The meat was top notch and nicely cured. It could of done with less watercress however and more of the pig! The sourdough base was well cooked, yet soft and moist. Topped with the Parmesan, mozzarella and tomato it was one of the best pizzas I have had in a while, simp
Full and happy, the bill was a pleasant end to the meal. At just over £40, including three glasses of wine and three beers, this is extremely good value - particularly when you take into account the quality of the ingredients.
Francos has still got it. The premise is truly authentic Neapolitan pizzas, with provenance at every turn.
With a generous glug of garlic and chilli oil, this was an absolute treat - and at only around £7 for a very generous portion, I had enough to take home and chomp my way through later! Go - it's worth it.
One of the best pizza places in London is Franco Manca . Their dough is made in a minimum of 20 hours with a slow rising sourdough, baked in a brick oven fired by wood specially made by an artisan from Naples . Probably the closest to a traditional pizza from Naples in London...
This is fast food. Unless you have a long wait for a seat, you'll be done fairly quickly; I was done in around fifteen minutes, due to the speed at which my pizza was cooked and the emptiness of the restaurant, unlike it's Brixton counterpart. It will get
Unlike the Brixton joint, the Chiswick branch is a real restaurant – it feels modern and casual with a massive mosaic-tiled, wood-burning oven dominating its entrance. I liked the simplicity and understated elegance of the décor, the long communal tables,
I have sung the praises of the original Franco Manca in Brixton here and also covered the link between Eco , Franco and Franco Manca here. The new Franco Manca in Chiswick's soft opening was on Saturday December 12 , 2009, 14 days after the amazing oven b
This is said quite often on London food blogs but this time I'm sure it's true: I think I must be the last food blogger to make it to Franco Manca. I've just not found my way to Brixton market to try their pizzas, made with their renowned slow-risen sourd
Straightforward place with a simple decor but a fantastic pizza.
Inside it's cozy with the stone oven being a central piece of the decoration. However this oven is not just for show as all the sourdough pizza will have a distinctive stone baked taste.
Pizzas are simple in design but the flavor is really key. Even though the pizza is a big portion, it tastes so good it'll disappear in a blink of an eye.
They are, in my opinion the best pizzas around in London.
It's a busy place, so reservation is recommended.
And it won't break your bank. Meal for two, around £30!
this place will make you so happy once you get to discover it: no fuss, quite delicious pizzas that give the fint for their taste by their gorgeous appearance, good service and always the spot-on locations for the pizza lovers. what I like is they do not have a luxury premium attitude about pizza such as glamorous interiors, seemingly italian stuff scattered all around and the adventure ending in ordinary food. Instead, they go with the basic and simply serve the real thing, in their ways. The crisp, the chorizo, the tomato sauce and the sourdough : a recipe for happiness.
The best pizza outside Italy I ever had! I had high expectations based on the recommendations from friends but it didn't disappoint at all. The space itself is lovely, location perfect (Chiswick high Road) and friendly staff. The service was quick as well. I've order the lemonade which was delicious and we were promptly served with free filtered water. Then the pizza arrived... Delicious! I've order the chorizo mozzarella one. Awesome!!!
The price for what you get is unbeatable, less than £10 per person!
Will be back more often :)
They do the best pizzas in the world and quite affordable. They have a very limited menu and don't expect any processed pizzas here. Fresh handmade sour dough pizza. When you order , they start with kneading the dough , preparing it and then baking it in wooden fire oven . I love their three chillies pizzas. You have to pay extra for tomato sauce base in this one. Their pizzas are crispy , thin and yum
This is , without a doubt, the BEST pizza restaurant in the UK.
It simply is incredible, the dough is AMAZING !
Besides the amazing pizza, the service is PERFECT, the drinks selection so small yet because of the quality of the choice it is so wonderfully simple and awesome (their own beer called "no logo" for example!)
Been to both their tottenham court road restaurant and their Brixton Market place, both awesome in their own ways
If you haven't eaten here... do it NOW ! don't expect to make a reservation though - the best restaurants don't need to do that. be prepared for a wait (and you'll agree the wait is worth it!!!)
Gorgeous pizza, great wine, relaxed atmosphere, lovely interior and friendly interiors! Would have been a 5 stars from me but the toilets weren't that great and they could have been more generous with the actual pizza toppings!! definitely will be returning though, and would recommend.
Franco Manca in Brixton Market is something of a legend amongst foodies; open only for lunch, people queue around the block to eat its pizzas. Now the residents of Chiswick can sample the same food on their doorsteps. The key to Franco Manca is the obsession with detail, which extends from the food to even to the décor here. The lovely tiled floor uses tiles (some dating back to the 16th century) from a villa in Naples that was damaged in the earthquake in 1980; piece of damaged tiles are used to decorate the pizza oven. The mural at the back of the premises was painted by an 87 year old artist, Enzo Apicella, who was once the cartoonist for the Economist. The pizza oven is a wood-burning “Tufae” oven constructed on the site by builders from Naples, and weighs eight tons, getting to 550C. Owner Giuseppe Mascoli is originally from Naples but has lived in London for many years (he also owns private members club Black’s in Soho), and was heavily involved with the beginning of the Slow Food movement.
The pizza base is a sourdough base that is rested for over 20 hours, while the toppings are carefully sourced: tomatoes from Salerno, cured meats from Brindisa, Gloucester Old Spot pork. Even the coffee, from the Monmouth Street Coffee Company, is a blend of three coffees commissioned especially for Franco Manca. Lemonade is produced from Amalfi lemons.
The result of all this effort is a pizza that has a lovely texture to the crust, crisp on the outside yet soft. Sad foodie that I am, I was there early to ensure that I ate the very first pizza produced from the oven on the restaurant’s first service when it opened. It was a classic of tomato, mozzarella and basil, and cost £5.30. Note the price, which is less than the pizza chains that populate our high street for a product that bears no comparison with the superb creations here (the costliest pizza on the menu was £6.80 when it opened). Service at the Chiswick branch is friendly but rather forgetful, but despite the crowds that it now attracts the staff still manage to be welcoming.
As I have written before, I have considerable difficulty assigning a score here. It is as good a pizza as you are likely to find (certainly as good as any I have eaten, along with that of Santa Maria and Sacro Cuore), and yet at the end of the day it is a pizza, not a dish involving complex sauces and loving presentation as you would find in a top Michelin-starred restaurant. However, no one wants to eat elaborate food every day, and it is a delight to see someone with such passion trying to produce the very finest pizza that can be made.
I love sourdough pizza and Franco Manca is my favourite pizza. The best of this branch is the service, our waitress ( I think a Italian lady) was very helpful, provided suggestions. The best service I had in a Franco Manca before.
Freshly made pizzas on the Chiswick High Street.
Very tasty and reasonably priced! Service was good and fast but the food was made perfectly.
This is my favourite pizza place
Friendly helpful staff that know their pizzas
If you like a bit of a kick try number 7 on the menu
They don't have a lot of vegan options here, but you can change the cow cheese for vegan cheese without paying extra, which is great, and that's what we did with the margarita. It was really tasty, and the dough is just amazing.
They also have a vegan special which is not on their website because they are rotating, and now it was a pizza with roasted potatos, baby tomatoes and olive tapenade. It wasn't that great, but then again I'm not a huge fan of potatoes on pizza.
Decent craft beer. Has some seating outside.
Nice and spacious place where you'll have excellent service and really nice pizzas.
Prices are awesome too
Ordered takeaway pizza and focaccia. Needed to know if the cheese was pasteurized and asked if they could prepare the salami on only half the pizza as we were sharing. They were kind enough to prepare as I asked. The dough was even separated prior to baking to keep the salami separate. Delicious food, and we wish we weren't leaving tomorrow so we could eat there again before heading home!
Have been coming here for years and it is quality. Consistently good service and food. The sourdough pizza is chewy, light, and slightly acidic...perfect base to go with quality ingredients . Also love watching Mr Pizza chef prepare the pizza and throw it around.
Ordered Franco Manca on Uber Eats and the delivery charge is £1.29 which is really great value, we both ordered the number 4 roasted cured ham, mozzarella, ricotta and mixed wild mushrooms £10.65 each. Our delivery turned up warm not soggy and the pizzas were really nice. Will probably order again.
The best service I've received since dining in any Franco Manca pizzeria. The manager really went above and beyond for me while I was experiencing a technical issue with the Franco Manca app. The waiting staff are very friendly too. I left the pizzeria satisfied with the food and the incredible service
My husband and I spent 3 weeks in the UK. We found Franco Manca’s on our last night. We had the best pizza we have ever had! Their crust was so delicious and fresh as were the toppings. I’m sorry we found this on the last night, not the first. Not only is the food amazing but the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Everyone was so accommodating, efficient and just lovely. I’ve been home in Canada for two days and I’m still thinking about it! If you are ever in Chiswick in the UK stop in. I can’t wait to go back!
One of the best pizzas around here. The dough was nice soft and chewy. I had the one with n duja which add a bit of a kick and the salad with balsamic dressing which is quite nice too
The service can be a bit slow though especially if they have a lot of delivery orders

Love the vegetarian pizza options here which I had last Friday . Tasty and I just love it. I would like to suggest seating table for two should be little bit bigger because two pizza plating are big so it is kind of uncomfortable to eat on a small table. I would recommend people to try Chiswick Franco Manca.
Lamb and potatoes starter was very nice. Pizza was nice too but didn't really have that wow factor.
Customer service was great. Food was served super fast.
Would definitely come again.
I went to this Franco Manca a few days back and all i have to say is that it is awesome! The staff is so nice gentle and efficient, especially my server Maisie, she took great care of me and my family. The pizza is really really good, miles away from other pizza chains. Also, great treatment for gluten intolerant customers and great gluten-free pizza.
In my opinion the best pizza you can find in London. Anna, the manager, was super nice and very accommodating. We ordered in less than 10 minutes after arrival (even though it was packed) and our pizzas were ready in about 15 minutes. I am really picky when it comes to pizzas and here at Franco Manca it is really good "Mamma Mia!".
Overall, Franco Manca in Chiswick is a very cozy and comfortable place where you can get authentic Italian food at a reasonable price 10/10.
I highly recommend it!
We hadn’t visited a Franco Manch for years and this was well worth the visit. Both pizzas were absolutely delicious, piping hot and fresh. I had a gluten free base, topped with buffalo mozzarella and basil. Simple but hit the spot. My boyfriend had one of the meat specials which was delicious, buffalo mozzarella, fennel salami & wild broccoli. We shared a delicious garlic dip too. Fast service from the nice staff and we loved the food, we will be back 🍕🎉
Richmond was an exceptional waiter he was so kind and considerate and very efficient in his service he really made my visit. It is so refreshing to have people that do their job with compassion and joy.
We were over in Chiswick last night to see some friends for a bit of live comedy and also check out the new stomping ground… 🏠
There are so so many choices on Chiswick high street for food, but we wanted something quick with a straight forward menu and Franco Manca is great for both!
We were a little surprised to get a table, but we weren’t complaining… and we quickly got stuck straight into this wonderful sausage special!!
Loads of lovely chunky, moist sausage which worked great with the spicy habanero dip, and we are both big lovers of aubergine with anything so this was a right treat!!
Our fave things: Just Franco Manca doing what Franco Manca do best… great pizza in record time.
