Booked here for a party of 6 for Chinese New Year's Eve, after failing to secure booking for another restaurant because of this busy night. We ordered the peking duck and all the dishes for a lucky and prosperous years - like fish, noodles, and dumplings.

The dim sum dishes came first - char sui bun and xiao long bao were standard and tasted pretty good. There were no spoons tho for the xiao long bao which made it a bit harder / less traditional.

Our dishes came next- the steamed sea bass was delicious, the bones were taken out (except the side fins) which made it easy to eat (but less "fun" as I like flipping the fish when one side is done). The ho fun (rice noodle) with scrambled egg had a bit of everything in it - chicken, pork, prawn, squid. We also got the a plate of Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan) with garlic (you have to order some vege in a Chinese restaurant) and this turned out to be one of my favourite dish of the night. Very fragrant and crunchy. We also ordered Mongolian king prawn, that was a bit disappointing, and actually felt like the sweet & sour king prawn dish instead (or maybe the order was mixed up...).

I also really felt like peking duck for ages so was happy to finally get some. I was a bit confused about the difference between peking duck and crispy aromatic duck both on their menu when I was checking it out when picking the restaurant. Turned out it is an UK thing (popular in UK) and the latter duck is finished with a deep frying step hence the crispiness, and apparently it's a bit drier. We got two steam basket of pancakes for our peking duck - not sure if it's because we asked about having enough pancakes haha. I am more used to have 2 courses when I have peking duck but they don't do that here. We ordered a whole one and we also got the usual plum sauce and cucumber & garlic shoot to go with it.

Although we were only given 2 hours of dining time, we ate pretty fast and finished after just 1.5 hours. They don't do desserts but gave us a plate of fortune cookies which was entertaining as we added "in bed" after reading each of our fortunes out loud!

All in all, a pretty good meal and service was good (for a Chinese restaurant). We sat in the back room of the restaurant and the atmosphere was good, nice bright white walls and table clothes, and maybe not as crowded as the front part. However it got a bit noisy cos it's all big tables in the back room. Some portions of the food didn't feel very much but overall we walked away full and happy for just over £15 per person.

Booking online was easy and (probably given their busy night) they phoned me on the day to confirm our booking.

Food was very good. We went for the starters to share, the prawn toast and satay chicken tasted amazing. A little disappointed with the spring roll as it was way too greasy and oily. The bamboo basket set menu was lovely, a little more variety would have made it it perfect. The XO special rice was amazing, fresh, good amount of seafood. Very good. Just a litle note to the restaurant to update the pricing on the board outside as the prices are different to the menu...hopefully an innocent mistake.

Decent Chinese food, although the consistency of dishes was a bit off! Some dishes were cooked really well and came out hot and fresh, and some the opposite, so a bit hot and miss. Plenty of variety on the menu and can order dim sum alongside main dishes which is what we did.

A new go-to Chinese restaurant. Delicious meals and the restaurant is clean. The atmosphere is quite nice like being in a dining room at home. When you see the walls you'll see what I mean. Their beef with hofun noodles is yummy and the beef is so tender! Try all the steamed dim sums too! Their staff are friendly and attentive.

My Favourite place for Dim Sum in Chinatown for years but haven’t been there in a while and I’m glad I went today! It still is very delicious! Booking recommended as waiting times can be long but even then it’s worth the wait

Tried this restaurant for lunch as it has been recommended to me by a trusted friend. Located in China Town, there are so many restaurant options there, but the ambiance and sitting inside as well as the cleanliness of the restaurant caught my attention first We got the mixed appetizers plate for two people, which had pork BBQ ribs, spring rolls and peanut chicken on a stick, I was very satisfied with the taste and quality of what this plate had to offer. We got shrimp fill fried dimsum, which was the best I ever tried, eventhough I was a bit disappointed that the plate comes with only 3 pieces. For the main dish I got the fujian fried rice, and it was huge, but taste wise, I didn't like it all, I had to leave some food behind unfortunately They also have a wide selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and the service was on point

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. The classics and the dim sum were excellent, better than any I've had in London, but what blew me away was the barbecued duck. Sweet, salty and sharp - some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant is lovely inside and well located. Prices are competitive for the area, would recommend to anyone.

Har gau and egg tarts were perfect. The price was a lot for the type of food served and its quality however it is central London. Later that day we did order a deliveroo for tao tao ju and i must admit it was terrible. The portions were so much smaller, the braised beef brisket was raw and it just wasn’t even comparable to the breakfast we had in the restaurant.

Tao Tao Ju is where you must go if you are looking for the best dim sum in London. Book in advance as it is popular and you will figure out why once you start eating their delicious dishes. We tried different ones but our favourites are the prawn or prawn and scallops ones (but dare to try them all as they are fantastic). Also, allow space for the duck rolls and the crispy seaweed as they are a must too! The restaurant is a hidden gem in Chinatown. Enjoy!

Came in on a Thursday night without a booking but we were glad to have been seated within a few minutes despite waiting in a queue. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered their Malaysian Ho Fun which had the right spice to it, the turnip paste, aubergine and greens, prawns in spicy soup and the beef cheung fun. All this for two people was great in terms of portion! Every dish we got was great in terms of taste but my favourite was the beef cheung fun. It was tender, a little chewy, savoury yet sweet. I honestly cannot wait to go back to try the other dishes, especially their dimsum which was of good quality and tasted fresh!

Enjoyed the vegan set menu which was £25pp, food was absolutely gorgeous. The only dish that probably could have done with some more flavour was the Singapore noodle but everything else was amazing. We did have to wait a while before the staff came over to take our orders (30 minutes).
