Great location and splendid views, clear skies over London so lunch went down a treat. Food and service were both excellent. Plan to go again but for dinner to experience views of London at night!
The view and decor of the restaurant are amazing.
However, the food is good but not as great as we expected, especially for this price.
In overall, worth a visit just to enjoy the views of London’s skyline.
Thanks to a corporate membership, I've been to the Searcys at the Gherkin multiple times for private dinning, lunch and drinks. The building and view are amazing, the staff always helpful, and the food is quite good as well. Defintely worth a visit if you can!
I have often wondered what it would be like to visit The Gherkin (after taking multiple shots with it in the background from the Heron Tower), so what better opportunity to experience it during the summer when it was transformed into a luxurious and idyllic Moroccan Sky Riad - a pop-up that took inspiration from Le
For a short period of time Searcys is opening their doors to the general public and allowing us to their summer pop-up. Located on the top floor of The Gherkin and providing impressive 360 degree views of the capital, Searcys has created a stunning Moroccan Sky Riad. This luxurious pop-up is inspired by the Le Fondouk and Le Comptoir Darna restaurants in Marrakech, recreating an enchanting space of the souks and bazaars as well as reflecting the chic, tranquil and serene style of the riads and retreats in Marrakesh. What's more, this idyllic hideaway is elevated and sat between the sky scrappers of London!
Definitely an experience thanks to the iconic venue. Having the option to hang out in the bar at the very top of the dome for pre dinner drinks is a real must! We took the taster menu option which was great.... £59 per head (what you would expect in LDN at this type of venue) Did not rate as high as I would have liked as the food was not mind blowing (like the views!) and the service is really, really slow in the bar and restaurant (food arrived before our wine :-(
Stunning. This is one of the most special locations in London, the views are stunning as you would expect, but it's the building architecture combined with the views that elevates this location. There is airport type security to get in and as it's a private members bar, you either have to be a member or a pre arranged guest. I have been here a few times for special events and drinks prior to going down a level to the seriously good restaurant below. Highly recommended. Photographs to do not do this place justice.
Amazing 360¤ view over London under the glass dome of the gherkin tip... But cocktail menu was a bit uninspiring, although presentation was good. Overall the food was pretty delicious. Highlights were squid ink hake and the Iberian pork shoulder. Friendly, flawless service and good food, with an unrivalled view made it worth the while. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

The Searcys At The Gherkin is truly a special experience and it’s something every foodie should experience at least once in their life. The service is immaculate, the food is spot on and the setting is like nothing else in London. It’s no longer open to the public but I would highly recommend hunting down a member and going up to the top to experience this landmark dining destination. It’s not to be missed.
My last visit to 40|30 Restaurant at the Gherkin was in January, long enough a gap in my view. So it was back again with a group of friends to enjoy a night out in the one of the “ COOLest venues of the Noughties “. So is it still “Cool”? – Absolutely. This place has substance and style, there is no question that 40|30 is continuing to delivering first class food in a first class venue. #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; }
What a great place to enjoy Afternoon tea. Highly recommend. Incredible views, delicious food and brilliant service.
Worth noting - to get a window seat you need to get their first sittings. Sadly and surprisingly they don’t offer decaf breakfast tea, only decaf coffee. If you are there at the last sitting it’s worth hanging around and going upstairs to the 40th floor to the bar which opens at 5pm. The views get even better.
This restaurant beats a lot of the 5 star London hotels we’ve been to for afternoon tea- better service and it’s also more reasonably priced too.
We've been to a few places for "afternoon tea with a view," and this one was the best, I think. The views were really great. I've been to The Shard and Walkie Talkie, but the view from The Gherkin was even better. The food was good. It might not have been the absolute best, but it was definitely good for the price we paid. The service was awesome. The staff was really attentive and well-organized. They even asked us if we wanted more sandwiches or scones, which was really nice. Overall, I totally recommend trying this one out.
Limitless Sparkling Afternoon Tea for 90min.
We enjoyed a sparkling afternoon tea watching a beautiful sunset from the Gherkin. The afternoon tea included Searcys Cuvée Brut Champagne and costed 85£ per person. A reservation is highly recommended. The staff really takes it serious with the refill so you won’t need to worry if it will be worth it or not, it simply is. The view is very special and all in all a very nice experience. The staff is very attentive and professional. The restaurant was as expected. Only bad part was, that the time passed to quickly. Good offer considering the whole package.

I loved all 3 courses but the main dish was my favourite. I would love to visit again for afternoon tea. Although it’s not an open roof, the views are still worth it especially for a special occasion.
So there's only a few tables so make sure to book well in advance. The skyline obviously helps make the experience, but even if you aren't right next to the window you'll still have a great view. The food is sublime though so worth a visit for that alone.
We spent a beautiful night to celebrate our anniversary, from the reception to the waiters who served us were very polite and attentive, the food was very delicious, good cocktails and price quality is not bad at all for the wonderful view you have. We will be back!
Extraordinary restaurant for the view inside the Gherkin! Reservations required to get a table. As an added bonus you can go upstairs to the bar for a 360 degrees view of the city! But food quality wise was quite disappointing as it was just average… the Sirloin steak we ordered was dry, poor quality cut of meat and between medium and medium rare there wasn’t much difference. The triple cooked chips was nice and the desserts were ok. Great customer service though! This place is very busy so they expect to take the table back after an hour and half. Overall would still recommend for the views but probably just book for the bar would be better for views.
Meal was lovely. Food was also good prices service was a bit slow to start with, but after a small complaint, things did improve as the place got very quiet.
Overall, I would recon people try it out as an experience to say they have been up.
Great views, ok service and food. We didn’t get suggestions of began food even though we confirmed vegetarian and vegan guests. A couple of vegetarian dishes could be found in the menu but nothing wholly vegan. We went on clear evening so the views were perfect.
One word, AMAZING… the food were great, the drinks were great and the view was to die for.
The price was the only real negative of this place, as it was a little pricy for the amount of food you actually got severed but for special occasions I would definitely recommend going to Searcy’s as it left a lasting impression.
