Cheerful pub which celebrates the boxing history of the area. They’ve been boxing around here since Roman times, as evidenced by Palestra House across the road. This pub is quite small but punches above its weight in hospitality, food, amenities and quality and choice of drinks. They have a great range of beers on tap and some amazing whiskey and whisky.

So today I was down waiting for the jubilee line, and low and behold there was a signal failure so the station shut down and we were all kicked outside. So to make myself feel better I went straight outside to the pub across the Rd. Wow, great place. Staff were friendly, quick service and an entirely Thai food menu. But good Thai food!! I only had the chiang mai chicken, but it was made of thigh/leg meat. Curry leaf I think in the batter. Was a flavour bomb! Other peoples food looked good too. I would recommend if you ever get delayed or not to hit it up for a snack. Also some good window seats for the people watching I like to do!!.

Right on the corner and filled with locals and boxing memorabilia. This place offers the lowest priced pint of beer we could find in London. 80s music was playen and we were drinking. Great hangout spot. They have a Thai restraunt connected to it. My favorite beer here was the Camden Pale Ale. Call me a sissy it was good. My wife's favorite was the Salt Jute Seasonal IPA. I say check it out.

🚇 Southwark 🍺 £6.00 Madri ❤️ A classic corner pub that celebrates a local historical boxing arena. . The Ring is located near Waterloo station and sits opposite Southwark Tube. . This gorgeous Victorian corner pub is very easy on the eye and has a beautiful brick facade. This pubs name and interior are an homage to The Ring Boxing Arena which once stood opposite this pub. The Ring Arena was unfortunately demolished after a bomb strike during WWII. . The walls here are covered in photographs of legendary boxers some of which graced The Ring Arena. This is a one bar pub with a high ceiling and has a proper Victorian London pub feel to it, it was nice to see the brass foot rail around the bottom of bar as so many pubs have removed these. The seating here is all poser tables and window ledges with views out to the hustle and bustle outside. There is some outside seating around the front of the pub for the warmer months. . The beer choice was very good and offers a bit of something for everyone. There are 4 cask options, rotating craft beers from breweries like Hammerton and some familiar favourites. I decided on a pint of Madri which was a decent pint and average price at six quid. The food menu is thai which is also available for takeaway. . The atmosphere was quiet on this Saturday afternoon and the majority of customers were outside lapping up the summer sun. The welcome here was great, the Guy behind the bar asked how I was rather than “what can I get you” which is a great start to any pub visit. Even though it was quiet the two staff on were keeping themselves busy cleaning the bar and glasses. The rock/indie soundtrack playing had some excellent music on including Mr David Bowie. . The @ringse1 is a lovely looking pub with excellent staff. This is no surprise considering this pub comes from the same independent stable of pubs that includes The Kings Arms just around the corner in Waterloo. Top beer, top food and a knockout welcome at this SE1 boozer. . ℹ️ Information correct on visiting 30/07/22

"The Ring" is a historic pub in London, located near Blackfriars Bridge. It's known for its traditional and cozy atmosphere and is often frequented by both locals and visitors. The pub has historical significance and is located in a building that dates back to the 19th century. Like many traditional British pubs, it offers a variety of beers, ales, and pub food. If you're in London and looking for a classic pub experience, "The Ring" is worth a visit.

This place was recommended to me by a friend as I didn't initially realise that they served such great Thai food. This was my 2nd visit trying a different dish, and so far, I have enjoyed everything I've ordered. The quality of the food and flavours are fantastic. I would definitely recommend it and come back again.

Small, one room pub, directly opposite Southwark Tube Station. Loved the boxing memorabilia and received a friendly welcome. Also an attractive building with a street corner aspect; lots of natural light and a good ‘nosey spot’ for people watching. Not a great range of beers at the time of my visit but I believe that they change them around regularly. (All beverages are a personal preference - so not a criticism.) Will definitely return.

Very interesting pub with plenty of boxing references. Good selection of drinks and pub snacks, a couple of tables were bolted down which made it difficult to put some together for our large party and the music was a alittle loud to hold conversation

A London corner pub with a boxing heritage, rebuilt following damage sustained during the Blitz, history preceeds this by a couple of hundred years. Great friendly staff, customers and a passing dog. Beer is varied and good too. Music is quirky but fun. Lovely place to have a drink, recommended!

Quick, friendly, tasty. If you want Thai spicy this is not for you. But if you want a fair priced English version of Thai food, it's worth a visit. I enjoyed it, and I'm a genuine Thai food fan.
