Great, basic honest Portuguese food. Seabass is excellent and according to my girlfriend so is the octopus. Fast and friendly service. Well worth it If you're in the area
This humble restaurant has a family feel and cosy atmosphere.
Lured in by the sign outside, which showed off a variety of fresh fish and interesting dishes, we were not disappointed.
The menu has plenty of fish to offer both as starters and mains.
We began with a nice bottle of white wine, brought over by the friendly waitress, to accompany the following plates. . .
To start, clams for the man, calamari for me. Both were very tasty and put us in the mood for our fish dish.
Monkfish with rice in a tomato and paprika based sauce, the fish was gorgeous, albeit a dainty portion but was just right for me.
The man had a whole sea bream with veg on the side which he very much enjoyed.
I was the only one to have a dessert. A traditional style tart made with coconut, cream and strawberry sauce on top. It was okay but not amazing as it's quite dry.
I would say the food is reasonably priced but quite simplistic so not much of a wow factor for this place.
Went for the lunch menu £4.95 for seafood rice. Fantastic value, my wife had the fish cakes.. Great find, will return.
Love the bacalhau a brás (cod). Reasonably priced. The service is always good.
Coming from Portugal I know what Portuguese food should taste like and to be honest I love the food here it's perfect in all ways and staff are very friendly
Great portugese. Too often, restaurants owners loose what it is all about: good tasty food! and A Torre got that right!
Que boa surpresa. Ambiente comida e serviço excelentes. Aconselho vivamente a visitarem.
Booked a dinner for 4 of us, our first time in A Torre, what a lovely little place, relaxed atmosphere, nice decor, great food and staff very attentive. We will definitely come back
Wonderful Portuguese restaurant with divine selections of wine. I started with a fish cake which was surprisingly crisp and delicious.
The lamb shank was moist the kind of moist you want of one.
You have got to follow your meal with the Portuguese flan a flan that wobbles is a good one it's delicious cleanses the palate and takes home some tarts!! I will be going again!!
Truly authentic Portuguese restaurant or at least great seafood restaurant with amazing taste! I came here yesterday evening for dinner and although the menu had a bit of seafood starters and main, my wife and I went for some meaty meals like sirloin steak and lamb shank and went for grilled octopus as extra main as it looks pretty beautiful. We were surprised by how juicy the octopus was. Every bite of it is such divine!! The steak was cooked well and really juicy too. Lamb shank was good too. I ended up the night with the homemade chocolate cake and Portuguese custard tart. I must say the tart was lovely and they heated up warm.
My wife left her phone at the restaurant and we realised that after we got home. The owner, Jorge was kind enough to keep it for us to collect them next day. My wife and I decided to come back here travelling from Stratford to Crystal Palace, not a short journey to collect the phone and also dine in for lunch as the food was just superb!! We had white wine this time with some great seafood starters and mains. We ordered the grilled octopus again and we were mind blown by the size of the dish! Absolutely fantastic!! I would definitely recommend everyone to give this restaurant a try. They do bake the Portuguese tart fresh daily, based on what I could see the tray by the entrance. It’s a local family run restaurant located around Crystal Palace. You may have to call to book a table although my wife and I were quite lucky to get a table for 2 during both lunch and dinner time! 😀 Greatly recommended 10/10 for this! The price of this restaurant is average for London standards in fact cheaper than what I would eat in central London.
Very nice food, good vibes and great atmosphere loved it
Had a wonderful meal here with friends. Lovely restaurant, great service and delicious food. Vino Verde,Portuguese paella, tuna and prawns. Will definitely be back.
Beautiful, cozy place. The food is very, very tasty me and my husband almost forgot we are in London for the whole time, the ambience is lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. I leave here some food snaps, shame you can not smell and taste it 😁👍
After a reservation mixup somewhere else, we wondered by this fantastic Portuguese Restaurant on UK's Mother's Day. They surprisingly had one open reservation on Open Table and took us. Everything was amazing: Food, Service, and Atmosphere! We had red snapper, lamb chops, sea bass, roasted pork belly, and calamari. Everything was perfect! Loved the owner and her sons. They were so hospitable and just lovely. Will definitely be recommending this place to others.
We have been to A Torre several times and have always enjoyed extremely friendly service and delicious food. It’s a lovely little local restaurant with a great atmosphere. We will definitely be going back again soon!
Superb. 5 yrs since my last visit. Top notch service, food and drinks. Caldeirada and the octopus was fantastic. Sardines were perfect starter.
Staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the night. My food was really nice, my husband food was ok. After our last visit 4 years ago, I think I still like it very much and will keep going. Bill was reasonable. The wine we chose (White Casal Rodriguez) was really nice!
Lovely little place with amazing authentic Portuguese food, great atmosphere and thoughtful service! Been coming here for about 3 years and as a Portuguese person it always feels like a bit of home! Couldn’t recommend it enough!
A cute little Portuguese eatery in Crystal Palace. A Portuguese friend took me to this place and I absolutely loved everything we ordered.
I'd never had Portuguese food before and so being of a mind to try foods from all over the world thought to give this restaurant a try. The food was lovely and they have a good range of different foods and so choosing was the hardest part. I went for the paella in the end which was lovely and quite large. Highly recommend a visit
Amazing home made food. Felt like home 🇵🇹
Amazing friendly service which is rare nowadays. Fresh authentic Portugues Food with flavours second to none. Above all an affordable menu.
A new regular on my list....i say it again great srrvice which make you want to come back.
Needs more recognition. The staff were friendly, and the food absolutely delicious. Fish especially seems to be cooked here very well, as is the lamb and beef chops. To top it off, Torre isn't exactly expensive given the quality of the food. An absolute gem.
Lovely meal, table of 5 and no complaints, food delicious, service great, will definitely return again.
Lovely family run cosy restaurant serving delicious food. We ate several starters - all were tasty and cooked perfectly.
