London's new fervour is Japan's food for the masses - Ramen. Of the many iterations of ramen - soy-based, salt-based or laced with miso, the one that has recently taken the West End by storm is tonkatsu.

Born out of the streets of Hakata, Tonkatsu is a broth of pork bones boiled until the marrow, fat and collagen have reduced to an alchemic brew with dense flavours and umami noodles. Shoryu - launched around two years ago, is one of the favourites in the city, with its authentic Japanese ambience and setup.

The Koterri Hakata Tonkatsu has a much richer, thicker and meatier broth boiled for 12 hours and topped with char siu barbeque pork belly, double nitamago eggs, kikurage mushrooms, spring onion, ginger and nori seaweed. I was not bowled over by the never-ending bowl of noodles, but it was quite flavoursome and rich, to say the least. The various different ingredients make the dish a wonderful overall package with a deep umami touch to it. With the extra rich broth and the double nitamago egg, this dish is definitely not for the faint-hearted and if you are brave enough to get it, you're definitely in for a treat.

To prepare our stomachs and accompany our Ramens, we ordered their crisp and lightly pan-fried gyozas cocooning lightly spiced minced pork, pillowy soft steamed Bao buns with barbeque pork belly and soy marinated chicken karage along with the infamous tiger prawn tempura. These dishes really elevated the overall experience.

Shoryu is a real deal when in comes to relishing Japanese cuisine in London!

I never really liked Ramen much before I tried Shoryu as I used to find ramen bland and watery. But the ramen here was so flavourful and delicious that I went twice in one week.

There are two vegetarian ramen options - I liked the spicy one much more but that is because i like spice. Would definitely go back. Seating sometimes can be an issue especially if you are a group of 2 as you may be seated in a community table or against the window.

Visit this Michelin recommended restaurant at Soho street for its authentic Japanese food.
I ordered a chicken bun, a halumi bun, a vegetarian curry ramen and a classic ramen with mushrooms and pork belly. Also ordered Japanese beer and Japanese whiskey. Buns were soft and juicy. Ramen was one of the best in the area. The ambience of the place is good, the staff is courteous.

It’s my second visit to Shoryu restaurant, nice mood, welcoming staff, I love their Ramen noodles, very tasty and just yummy 👌
My only complaint is that we asked for a table without reservation but we sit on the bar however there was places!
Certainly recommend for Japanese food lovers 👍

Cozy place with courteous and friendly staff serving Japanese cuisine. I would recommend their most famous item on the menu “Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen”. The flavourful and yummiest Ramen broth is made of authentic Japanese spices and herbs for over 12 hours. One will enjoy every bit of it and be full as the quantity they serve is quite a lot.

If you love ramen you have to come here.
Very pleasant staff, delicious pork buns, delicious but a bit a spicy ramen. Yumm!
The place was a bit too loud, though. But will definitely come back!

Uma maravilha de paladar. Nem sei descrever! Escolhi a opção vegetariana spicy e ainda bem. O caldo vem bem picante. Tive de limpar a testa e tudo! Vem na temperatura certa! O atendimento brutal. Fantástico mesmo. No fim terminei com um gelado de matcha e gelatina de café e estava uma delícia.

This is the latest opening from the Shoryu chain. I was here for the soft launch with 50% off on all ramen and the place was constantly full.

Seating is much closer than the other Shoryu locations, which means it get really packed, but I didn't see any deterioration in service standards or serving time.

The staff were all really upbeat and did a great job managing the constant crowd.

Food is standard Shoryu food. Yummy broth, well cooked noodles, great buns.

This outlet has a large wine list and a few extras on the food menu. I don't remember poached eggs as an option at the other Shoryu's or maybe I'm mistaken?

Yummy food at the Tottenham Court Road station area. At least now I have a healthier option, if I want to grab a late bite when changing buses at this station.

This Ramen place is seriously delicious. The tonkotsu was rich and flavorful. The noodles can also be customized to accommodate individuals who prefer them to be a little more el dente.

As a Ramen aficionado, I had to go back to this place twice before I left London knowing what I'll be missing here. I'd also like to commend the staff. The ritual of ringing the drum upon arrival seemed tedious, but they put on a brave face and do it for each customer as annoying as it may be.

For me, this place served one of the best tonkotsu ramen, hakata tetsunabe gyoza and hirata buns in London, not to mention at very reasonable price.  I would say Shoryu Ramen and Tonkatsu were my go-to places to satisfy my cravings for authentic ramen.  My first favourite dish at Shoryu Ramen is “Hakata Tetsunabe Gyoza”… Served in a little cast iron pan with a tangy dipping sauce and fresh wasabi is this crispy parcel of well seasoned tender minced pork…

Excellent Japanese food! They have ramen mostly pork, some seafood and veggie as well. I recommend to start the Japanese buns, that are some kind of burgers. Average price per ramen is about £10. You can also enjoy traditional Japanese beverages.
The decoration makes you feel a bit like if you were in Kyoto.
Hope you enjoy the place as we!

Shoryu has a few branches in London, and serves nice ramen.

Ramen noodles: nice al-dente noodles, but a bit too clumped together. Seems to release part of the starch as your meal progresses and thickens your broth. This is undesirable.

Broth: lovely aromatic broth. Prone to getting thickened as the meal progresses.

Pork: tender, melts in your mouth. Wish I can eat just a kilo of those. Extra portions can be ordered.

Egg: soft, runny, creamy. Yolk melts in your mouth. A dear friend of ours has a theory on how this is made – carefully-timed boiling, then immediately dunking it in iced water. Seems complicated.

I love the wooden spoon they serve ramens with. It’s really awkward to hold, and really hard to drink soup with. Also the woodenness is likely to have hygiene-related issues. But they’re so cute. I love them.

On each table, you get unlimited supplies of white sesame seeds which can be freshly grounded over the noodles.

They also give you free garlic! Fresh garlic. As much as you want. Crushed and mixed into your broth improves it by 10 times (only if you love garlic like me obviously).

Oh… and we tried one of their starters - Steamed bun (light, soft, and fluffly – like eating cloud) with pork belly (melt in your mouth) and some vegetables. Oh so good. Would’ve been 10/10 if the bun-to-meat ratio is improved. They seem to go minimalist on meat here.

Look after late night customer. I went there twice during their promotion period (before 19th July 2013).
First time I went was on a Friday, around 6:45pm there was a short queue and got seated around 7pm. It was very busy and full house of customer, I ordered a Tokyo Shoryu and my friend ordered the signature ramen of the restaurant. We love the pork, it melted in our mouth and it was amazing!

However, my second visit was on a Thursday late night around 10pm with 5 of my friends. This time, I ordered the sinature ramen and one of my friend ordered the Tokyo Shoryu. Disappointingly, the pork wasn't like last time and it was chewy, and there was suppose to be at two seaweeds in the ramen, which wasn't there.

I know I shouldn't ask more for a robbery price of 5 pounds a bowl of ramen, but I was planning to visit again and please take care of the late night customer.

A rare stepping into the world outside of my office lead me to  Shoryu on Lower Regent Street today, just in time to beat the grub rush at a very eager 11:45. Equipped with a very reliable recommendation and an appetite that would have otherwise seen me chew off my own arm, nothing was going to stand inbetween me and a Hirata Bun or two! With two other locations on Denman Street, Soho, and Kingly Court, Carnaby, we found ourselves in a tiny restaurant being greeted by the beat of a drum and the very traditional Japanese "irasshaimase," which I'm told means "welcome, please come in" and doesn't at all start to grate after the 20th person walks through the door (I felt delightfully welcomed though, so who am I to complain!). The cold Sapporo beer tasted ever more perfect, but mainly because in the middle of a working day you really know you shouldn't; then then the food started to arrive. What can I say?! Both the tempura prawn and pork belly buns were indeed EPIC and the gyoza were pre

A fluffy, bun-y pillow-y morsel that is stuffed with glorious saucy fillings. Pork is an obvious choice of filling, with its char siu barbeque pork belly squeezing its way into those buns and so is the deep fried chicken, a soy marinated chicken karaage. Altogether 2 pieces are £7.50. The texture of the bun itself was slightly dense and tough which added more bite and chew. The pork filling is thick and generous. It is a delicious piece of meat but it was heavily doused in the thick ba

Shoryu is dishing out some seriously good ramen. But, to give credit where credit is due, I’m not sure they make my revisit list, with the much richer and flavorful product of Bone Daddies a few blocks away. Well, having multiple options for good ramen in a city is always a good problem to have.

Since the last time I had ramen I thought to myself, "I got to have more!" That's when a mate recommended me Shoryu Ramen. The first thing I noticed about Shoryu Ramen is that the staffs are very welcoming and friendly- always a nice experience when it comes to going out in general. I decided to order a Koterri Hataka Tonkotsu Ramen, as well as a strawberry calpico as I was in the mood for something sweet. When the menu States this ramen has a thicker broth, it really does. Every spoonful of the soup, along with the egg and the soft noodles, had overwhelmed with flavour, and in a good way as well. I would definitely advise that you should at least try having a bowl over here; I promise you won't regret it!

This was definitely the best ramen I ever had! Shoryu was on my wishlist when I visited London because it had already been recommended to me.

The place is very modern, with the dark and golden details making it look more sophisticated. The waiters were super nice and we had a very warm welcome, Japanese style.

We asked for the waiter’s advice and went for a Kotteri Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen and a Tiger King Prawn Tempura Hirata Bun. I think I just can’t complement enough this wonderful meal. The broth of the ramen was really rich, with a deep flavor without overpowering the dish. The meat was tender, the egg was boiled perfectly and I discovered the kikurage mushrooms. The other flavors (ginger, spring onion) gave the needed freshness to the dish. The Tiger Prawn Bun was also a delight: the prawns were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the bun was super soft and sticky.

A pro is that, for £2, you can ask for noodles refill for the remaining broth, which we did. I think that the total price wasn’t expensive, given the wonderful meal we had. I strongly recommend!

Based in the heart of Kingly Court lies the beautiful Shoryu. As at the two existing locations, Shoryu Kingly Court specialises in the most authentic tasting Hakata tonkotsu recipe outside Japan, offering many delicious varieties of the dish. After my visit to Kanda-Ya a few weeks ago, Shoryu certainly had a lot to live up to. Now although I preferred the ramen at Kanada-Ya, Shoryu certainly has a spin on Japanese food in London that I feel very drawn too. Great ingredients, simple dishes, stunning surroundings.

With its hanging fabric door, skin drum to announce new guests and open kitchen, Shoryu is a delight to the visual sense as well as taste. The restaurant’s interior has been created by Blenheim Design, and is heavily inspired by Executive Chef Kanji Furukawa and Director Tak Tokumine's home town of Fukuoka, the birthplace of Hakata tonkotsu ramen. I mean, can you get more authentic chefs? As in the Soho branch, the restaurant features an authentic Hakata Bei wall, only the second example of the traditional tiling technique to be found in the capital. It's a shame Alex didn't come to this review as he may well die of Architecture-amazingness.

My guest and I began our dining experience with cocktails. Sake based and fresh tasting, these cocktails were really refreshing and a nice change from wine. I chose the Mojito Love Japan, which is a strong blend of umeshu, white rum, mint, kumquat and muddled limes over crushed ice followed up by the Umeshu Royal - a blend of umeshu plum wine topped with prosecco.

To start we opted to share a wagyu beef bun, one pork bun and a mixed platter. The last buns I had experienced were at Flesh & Buns and the Shoryu take was a much fresher and lighter option. The wagyu bun had a creamy, almost cheesy sauce inside while the pork roll featured crisp lettuce to freshen things up. The buns themselves were light and bouncy, and I loved the emblazoned Shoryu logo on the top.

The mixed platter, unlike those sad mixed platters found at chain-style Asian restaurants, was fresh, punchy and packed with epic little morsels. The spinach was lightly doused in sesame and soy, while the crisp fried chicken had a real kick of flavour. My favourite on the plate was the tempura prawns which, although pretty common, were unique in their lightness and worked brilliantly with the dipping sauce.

And onto the ramen. Well, where do I begin. The broth was rich and meaty but unlike Kanada-Ya didn't have the same milkiness. The texture was velvety but the sesame seeds and spring onions certainly helped wake things up. I've never had egg in a ramen and I must say I'm pretty sold! It's delicious and a great way to add protein to your dish. My pork was wonderfully soft and my noodles slippery. I'm still working on being able to slurp my broth, but as I delve further in Japanese cuisine I'm still being surprised by the beautiful variety of dishes and stunning ingredients.

For dessert, yes even after all that I had dessert, we shared a mochi. Pronounced mosh-i, these tiny desserts are flavoured rice in a cornflour skin. Sounds vile but stay with me. My rice was chocolate flavoured and my skin raspberry which was an intriguing, surprising and delicious combination. If you're not much of a big eater, definitely save yourself for these little delights when you visit Shoryu.

From the beautiful plates to the excellent service, my experience at Shoryu was fantastic. The food is fresh and authentic but, most importantly, utterly delicious.

This place was on my wishlist for a while and today was the day. Luckily enough I went today (Sunday) at 13h and there was no queue! The place is small but lovely. The decoration is quite modern and cosy at the same time. The service is very quick and friendly as well.
There's lots of good choices on the menu, I went for the Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu. You also have a good choice of top ups you can add into your Ramen. The Ramen was really tasty (thanks ginger!), and it's quite filling too.
We've also ordered a Atsuage, pretty delicious as well. Overall, really tasty Ramen and I'm sure we'll be back!
Location wise really close to Picadilly Circus, so couldn't be any easier

Shoryu's tonkotsu bone broth with gluten-free rice noodles packs a whole lot of flavour and umami, while their gluten-free hirata buns are filled with deliciously crisp fillings and perfectly matched sauces. Shoryu have completely mastered the art of creating delicious gluten-free dishes that don't compromise on flavour or texture.

Shoryu has a casual atmosphere  – the trendy black and gold Asia-inspired fusion decor, combined with the fact that it’s always brimming with people gives the place a lively atmosphere. Depending on the size of your party, you’re usually sat immediately next to strangers on a long table, in line with the way ramen is traditionally consumed – hurriedly eaten seated beside strangers. One thing worth keeping in mind is that they refuse to seat incomplete parties, so if you are the type to get ‘hangry’, it might be worth coordinating beforehand.

We started our meal with a bottle of umeshu – a Japanese plum wine which is a particular weakness of mine. Although delicious and enjoyable, it is quite sweet, and not necessarily a beverage I’d recommend with savoury hirata buns or ramen (although I will definitely end up ordering it again).

We went for the Shoryu hirata buns – their take on the steamed Taiwanese street food trend, which involves steamed bread-like buns filled with various savoury fillings. The gluten-free options for the buns included chicken karaage, a Japanese fried chicken dish made with potato starch (see my recipe here), as well a ginger salmon option. I was completely enamored with the latter – the crispy salmon skin combined with the soft texture of the warm bun was exquisite. The gluten-free buns were really something – I didn’t feel, as I often feel when having the gluten-free option, that I was missing out on anything at all.

For the main course I went for the restaurant’s signature dish – the Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu ramen. I substituted the regular wheat noodles for gluten-free rice noodles, similar to those found in Pho. The Tonkotsu broth is made by boiling down and reducing pork bones for hours on end, creating a rich, creamy flavour and consistency to the broth. I decided to go for the Shoryu Ganso Broth and skipped the nitamago which accompanies many of the ramen dishes, as the boiled egg is flavoured with soy sauce. Other gluten-free options are available, like Tori Karaage-men, which is made with a shiitake mushroom and kombu seaweed and soy broth.

As always, the ramen was spot on – the flavours of the broth were rich, delicious and comforting – and while the rice noodles didn’t quite compare to their gluten-filled equivalents, they were still satisfying.

Despite thinking we were well and truly stuffed, we ordered a couple of the mochi on the strong recommendation of our waiter, who favoured the raspberry and chocolate one in particular. Luckily, these were also gluten-free: the first bite was slightly surprising, as I was still expecting the traditional red-bean filling for the dessert, but the raspberry mochi (a sweet rice cake) was unbelievable – tart yet sweet, indulgent yet light – a definite winner. I wasn’t as keen on the Tiramisu, but that could be due to the fact that I am not a Tiramisu fan generally.

Around three or four sets of diners had come and go in the time it had taken us to finish our meal – not particularly unusual when a couple of food bloggers go for dinner. The service was prompt and efficient, yet I didn’t feel pressured or rushed at all to leave – the entire meal was extremely pleasant, and came to around £35 per head.

I strongly recommend Shoryu for gluten-free diners and their companions – a delicious meal in a low-key, smart-casual atmosphere in several locations: you’re onto a winner.

Ooooh Shoryu Ramen, you made a comeback. The first visit left me right in the middle, the experience wasn’t bad nor wow.

I made a mistake by not trying the Dracula tonkotsu, this time I ordered it. The garlic dominated and had bags of flavour. The rich, creamy, fatty broth, with dark blood looking drops of balsamic vinegar satisfied the taste buds, and marinated the thin slices of plain pork topped with half boiled egg. It was simply heaven, thanks Shoryu for stepping it up, it was very memorable.

Having some time I decided to try one of ramen places in Soho. All but this one were closed between lunch and dinner, so I ended up in Shoryu.

The restaurant is like every other ramen place I've been to in Hong Kong: once you enter, all staff shout a greeting in Japanese. They even have a drum to announce guests. You can feel like a Japanese emperor ;)

Then I was approached by staff, and asked whether it was my first time at their restaurant. The following question was whether I was vegetarian, and after I confirmed, I was informed of all veggie dishes available. I must say it was a pleasant  change to all those places that never really bother with making sure you don't order something that you can't or don't want to eat.

I had a steamed bun with grilled halloumi cheese, mushrooms, and spicy sauce. It was an interesting starter that I've never heard of before. A bit like a combination of a Chinese steamed bun with a western hamburger. It was delicious.

You can order ramen, and additionally add toppings. I didn't, but the soup was full of ingredients, so it's not that they come "poor", and the additional toppings are necessary. The "basic" ramen is still full of flavours. It was very good.

I also had Japanese green tea in an adorable Japanese teapot, and the meal was concluded with a cheesecake.

The staff is helpful, attentive, and polite. Very "Japanese" ;)

I also noticed a few Japanese coming. I always believed that in nationals come to a restaurant, then it must be real food, otherwise they wouldn't come to a fake, westernised or otherwise modified one.

Ramen Ramen Ramen! The BF and I were recently in the area and needed to have a quick pre theatre dinner as we had a rather long boozey brunch.I suggested we try Shoryu Ramen as for the most part I had heard good things about it, and we needed something simple and effective. To start with I was a bit daunted by the queue but it moved pretty quickly, which really impressed me.The restaurant itself reminds me of a school canteen, so certainly not somewhere to go for a romantic date night. To start the BF and I had the pork bun and the soft shell crab! I thought the pork bun was pretty epic and writing this now brings back that sweet, spicy taste.  The soft shell crab itself was so so. Not the best I have had, but certainly not the worst. To follow the BF and I both opted for Ramen. I had a more traditional one, with a beautiful broth, lots of garlic, lots of flavour and some yummy pork. The BF's choice was rather spicy!! I am still not quite sure how he finished the dish!I thought Shoryu was pretty good actually! It was good service and good food. Somewhere I would definitely pop into again for a quick dish.

Ramen is the new thing in London; there’s a new bar popping up every five minutes, they’re bloody everywhere. The burger craze was only going to last for so long and I’ve got my money on these big bowls of noodley goodness being the successors.

Shoryu is definitely top of the ramen tree (at least compared to what I’ve tasted so far.) It’s cheap, bang in the centre of town, there’s a happy hour on drinks, and most importantly the different ramen varieties are fricking delish.

Not sure what the queuing situation is normally like but I went for post-work dinner at 6ish without any wait. B and I sampled the £5 mojito specials with unabashed masculinity whilst waiting impatiently for our meals.

The tonkotsu ramen all come in a pork broth so meaty you could slice it and serve it on a Sunday. They’re chock full of your standard beansprouts, spring onions et al, and generously topped with nori, kimchi & egg halves. In short Shoryu ramen are beautiful little buggers – they’re just gagging to be Instagrammed.

I absolutely loved my karaka tantan tonkotsu; the depth of flavour was incredible for such a quick and simple dish. Spoonfuls of spicy minced pork and broth flavoured with white miso, garlic & chilli oil reached my mouth almost 75% of the time – the rest, my chin happily received.

Over on the other side of the table a much thicker broth was being slurped. B’s hokkaido curry ramen packed crispy karaage (fried) chicken and bamboo shoots, with a sprinkling of sesame seeds bobbing on the surface; the centre piece, a naruto fish cake, was the swirly pink star of the show (albeit rather camp – perfect for its devourer.) We also got some gyoza on the side which were gone in seconds, some of the best I’ve ever had.

Shoryu has fast built a reputation for exceptional yet reasonably priced Japanese food and it’s easy to see why. The menu isn’t sprawling but excites with some inventive noodle concoctions, whilst the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff aren’t in your face. Plus it’s tucked right behind Piccadilly Circus so ideal for meeting mates on central turf. A benchmark for ramen bars in the big smoke.

Shoryu, I love you!

Located at the beginning of Soho, this cosy Thai restaurant is the perfect place to share a delicious meal with friends or family.
Here Shoryu opts for the authenticity, where you can see waiters in traditional Thai costumes, ring the bell to wake you up, if the tasty gyoza made you dream of Asia.

Offering a variety of ramen, the restaurant lets customers choose the size and type of their noodles and enable gluten free eaters to come through the large menu proposed by the house.

In addition, while offering Thai specialties, Shoryu gives you the opportunity to satisfy a sudden desire to eat delicious fresh sushis.

Here, the affordability of the price attracts, not only the younger generation, but also the whole London, where you can see people queuing after 8pm, to have the chance to taste the best of Asia.

The Best: the Dracula soup will encourage you to come back again and again.

In a nutshell: Wide and delicious choice of Japanese food. Very much recommended.

A fairly smart, happy sort of place. No problem getting a table despite it being a Saturday, making it an even smarter, happier place as far as I was concerned.

Having consulted the extensive menu for a while, we (girlfriend and I) eventually settled on a couple of hirata buns, six pork gyoza, and a bowl of Karaka Tantan Tonkotsu ramen. The gyoza arrived first. These were slightly caramelised on the underside, giving the delicious tangy sweetness that cooking properly in a cast iron pan will. And the filling was good too, as the pork was woven with light, fresh herb flavours.

I’d never had hirata buns before, so the soft and slightly sticky bun was intriguing enough when I picked it up, let alone when I bit in. It felt like digging my teeth into a sandwich roll made of savoury marshmallow. Light and fluffy, and the char siu pork was delicious, with a little mayonnaise and cucumber. Big fan.

Finally, the ramen. There were several tonkotsu ramen options on the menu but we had chosen well. All the others came in a rich tonkotsu pork broth with barbecue pork, while ours was “tonkotsu with a twist” – spicy fried minced pork in white miso and garlic broth, with added lemon and chilli oil. It was fresh, refreshing, nourishing, with deeply satisfying umami flavours. And there was a fair bit of spice to it too.

So it’s been about a month since I visited Shoryu Soho ramen bar. But that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten how much fun I had dining there. Besides, judging from the queue out-the-door I observed when I passed by the Soho outlet last night, I guess the restaurant hasn’t been in need of any positive press. Nevertheless, here’s mine up-thumbed input about the place.

There were a number of dishes available at Japan Centre’s Shoryu Soho that seemed to be placed on the menu especially for me and my greedy palate: particularly soft shell crab tempura (£9) and shishito (deep fried padron peppers with hakata yuzu and British sea salt, £7). I could go for an order of either again (and again). I also really got a kick out of drinking my super icy Kirin Frozen (½ pint £2,90, pint £4,90) served with a -5 degrees frozen whipped top in a chilled glass. Come warmer weather (please!!!), that chilly drink is sure to be on my mind.

But of course the star of the show was the ramen, and I loved my mega-bowl of Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu (£11) – the eatery’s signature ramen. It like all ramen there (except for a few veggie options) came in a “rich tonkotsu pork broth with bbq pork, nitamago egg, kikurage mushrooms, spring onion, sesame, ginger, nori and mayu (caramelised black garlic oil)” along with the added yummies of miso in the broth and fried shallots.

Also with respect to the probability of a queue, if it’s anything at all like when I went you can expect it to move swiftly and for service to be efficient at this tight little communal seating restaurant with the friendly vibe near Piccadilly Circus.

I visited the Shoryu Soho at 3 Denman Street (W1D 7HA) , but there’s a Shoryu Ramen location at 9 Lower Regent Street too, plus another outlet at Kingly Court on its way any day now and a new “Shoryu Go” takeaway concept for Air Street planned.

Fantastic! Great menu, with a very well rounded selection that is not too overpriced, great location and friendly service. Ordered the piri piri tonkotsu ramen which certainly had a kick to it, was a beautiful dish with perfectly cooked ramen, though wasn't a big fan of the bbq pork - found it too bland and full of gristle. Sides: soft shell crab tempura was perfect, though the ponzu sauce was pretty weak (Nobu has spoiled me for this), hirata buns were average - a bit too large and doughy and not enough sauce (yum bun is much better), pork gyoza - absolutely delicious, yakitori - very well cooked negima and the beef teri was perfect! Very nice cold and frothy draft kirin beer. Dessert was dorayaki pancakes and matcha mochi - lovely, but be warned, it's an acquired taste. I had a great experience at Shoryu, and I will definitely be back, even if only to try for my own gold plated ramen bowl - one of the many perks of being a Golden Shoryu member :)

It was amazing! The broth was out of this world. Loved every dish and enjoyed every moment. But next time I visit, I'm going to ask my broth to be a little less salty. Would love to return!

Perfect food and perfect service. Good cocktails 😀 My ramen was too hot/spicy and the waiter was nice enough to bring me more soup (on the house) so it will be less hot. Recommended to order place in advance- line outside the restaurant’s door.

Our favourite Ramen in London. Our lovely waitress “Cherry” brought a cake with a candle for my husband birthday celebration/ She was very kind and her service was 10 out 10. Lovely person! We loved the Sakura cake and our usual go to spicy Ramen: Karaka Tan Tan Tokotsu. We were disappointed on how we were treated on Shoryu Carnaby Street so we decided to come to this location for my husbands birthday and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We had an amazing lunch 😍 I truly recommend this lovely location. Thank you Shoryu!

One of those places we’ve been wanting to try but never got around to, as it was on the CODE App we opted to take advantage of the 25% discount, and we are glad we did! We booked for lunch, and it was super busy. We ordered, Chicken Karaage, Spicy Fried Chicken Bun, BBQ Pork Bun, Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu, And Kimchi Seafood Tonkotsu. Everything was cooked well, and tasted delicious, will definitely return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Been meaning to try Shoryu Ramen 昇龍 for a while, booked for lunchtime, and it was busy. As it was Monday they had a deal of 2 bun for £7, with any Ramen purchase, so we took advantage. Chicken Karaage Spicy Fried Chicken Bun BBQ Pork Bun Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu Kimchi Seafood Tonkotsu All food was well cooked and delicious, I especially liked the Chicken Karaage was just as I like it! Will definitely return as can use CODE App for 25% discount. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Ramen #Tonkotsu #ChickenKaraage #CodeApp #BreakingBreadwithBarry

I'm a big fan of this place, will take any opportunity I can while in London to visit. The menu selection is great, portion sizes are generous, the food tastes AMAZING and the pricing is an absolute steal given the location - I would have expected to pay more.

Tried ramen for the first time in my life. It looked very authentic and I was satisfied. The taste was much different than my expectations, but I never tried ramen before so I cant compare. The staff was nice and very helpful too.

One of the tastiest Ramen dishes I have tried so far! This place is fantastic. Friendly and fast service. We were in the waiting list to get the table as we tried to book on the same day and luckily we got the table 1h before the booking time. If you like Ramen 🍜, this is THE place to try in Soho area, London.

Good ramen bar right in the city center of London. The place is usually busy and it’s better to book a table in advance. The takoyaki are fine and the ramen is quite good. Prices are fair and the staff is friendly. Worth the visit for a quick japanese dinner

What a lucky find. Had a late after-show dinner here. The ramen is the best ramen I have ever eaten. Not too salty, just right. I went for kimchi and seafood ramen. The egg was cooked perfectly. We as well had seaweed salad and octopus balls. The salad was so tasty, the dressing was delicious, it could only do with a bit more actual seaweed. The octopus balls were very filling. As well tasty, but I would next time try something different. OGM! Their Yuzu green tea blend! If you like green tea, you must try this. Service was very fast, polite and on point. Well done everyone! I am definitely coming back to this restaurant.

This is my second time coming here. I also came and ordered ramen yesterday. This restaurant was the best Japanese restaurant that I've had. I highly recommend the ramen here, and the octopus balls were also very delicious as well. I'm definitely going to come back here again.

Although we had no reservation and it was dinner time, they found some space for us and service was nice in general although it was extremely busy. Food was delicious! The best vegetarian Ramen I ever had. They even had a kids menu for my little one so she could enjoy her own Ramen bowl. Would definitely recommend!
