Had to try this well regarded establishment in Camden Market. I came on raclette night and it's a fixed £20 all you can eat affair and an additional £12 all you can drink house wine for 90 minutes.
The food comprises of boiled potatoes and cauliflower, every so lightly seasoned, ham and cornichons onto which melting cheese from the chef is then scraped on. A simple but nicely dressed leaf salad is also provided.
While initially I was somewhat curious about the ingredients, one begins to realise the star of the show is the cheese and the quality it adds to these.
House red was fantastic to be fair.
Staff were very attentive and well trained.
One point, the bathroom facilities are in the market and cost £1 to use.
Will come again and try another night and or a selection of their other cheeses which look carefully selected.
Although normally British cuisine is definitely not a good thing, this place is great, so as their offering of cheese.
Kind active staff (it's nice they start by offering water), juicy cheese sandwich and a cozy place despite the chaos of the market.
Only real problem might be the lack of toilets in the place, but I guess it's a Camden lock thing.
Once again, worth the visit!
This remains one of my favourite spots in London. Took my visiting friends here and we were simply oozing with appreciation and foodgasm as we traversed through the simplicity of the cheeseboard, the joyous crunch of the mozzarella sticks, the delicious dance of caramelised sweet onions and baked Waterloo, the fluffy delight of the lemon curd cheesecake.
Come here whether you’re a cheese fanatic or not. Absolutely recommended
Really great restaurant if you love cheese. The mac and cheese and cheese puffs were really good. Also, enjoyed the wine selection. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Would definitely pop in again.
Went for lunch on a Wed afternoon and sat at bar. Ordered the lunch special , grilled cheese (mozzarella with bacon) with house wine. WOW!! One of or the best toasties I have ever had. Please try this place...
Very cool space and service was great. Very good grilled cheese, but the bacon on it wasn’t cooked which I found odd.
The restaurant ambient was lovely, as well as the service and staff. The best treat from the Galician friend at the raclette. I’m a cheese lover, and will definitely be back. Totally recommended
So much fun! Lots of different cheeses to try. It is hard not to eat all of them.
The best of British cheese - Liz Truss would be proud.
Some very nice cheese was enjoyed here. I got a cheeseboard with Carmarthenshire Brie, Caerphilly and Cornish Gouda, which were paired with chilli jam, lemon curd and clotted cream fudge respectively. All lovely but I liked the ‘Brie’ most.
I also had the Cheddar and Ogleshield grilled sandwich. It was served with honey and I enjoyed it immensely.
I also bumped into a friend who I hadn’t seen in some five years, which was great. She and her group were sat next to us and so I have my suspicions that the restaurant secretly arranged this meeting, which was very thoughtful and a nice touch.
Cheese!
If you like cheese, this is the right place for you!
Amazing selection and tasty menu with cheese in every dish. Staff is friendly and good wine selection. In summer there is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your cheese with a drink. The truffle burger with melted brie and caramelised onion is the best!!
The name says it all--you're there to eat cheese. Anything from the common to the fancy. You can get a cheese plate, cheeseburger, or fondue. And anything in between. There's meat plate too if you have a companion who's not that up for cheese.
We got a variety of stuff and nothing disappointed. However, if you need specific suggestions, raclette and stilton sandwich were both instant hits. On the other end of the scale, mac and cheese and fondue were just fine.
You can get there a choice of wine (obviously) and some craft beers (very decent).
There's space inside as well as some tables outside. The garden option doesn't look fancy. However, given the place is located inside Camden Market it's a great spot for people watching if you're up for it.
The service was great.
As far as I can tell prices are in line with alternatives.
My first impression of hearing about this place was that it was just for tourists, but since actually eating here I've found it's kind of amazing, service is great and so is the wine
Loved this place. We have meant to pop on every time we visit Camden but made a conscious effort and was not disappointed. Food was excellent and the staff so nice and helpful. A real gem of a place
Took my partner here because he loves cheese and it did not disappoint. The cheese were paired up with things that went well and we tried cheeses that we usually wouldn’t. There was good wine. The train was really fun and we really enjoyed the whole experience
A great place to visit if you love cheese! The cheese sandwich was delicious and paired nicely with the honey. The cheese truffle fries was our favourite so highly recommend having this. The waiters were extremely friendly.
It was the place I had wanted to visit for a long time. Finally, we went there. In general, it was busy during the weekend but not this time. We got our seats on Saturday.
The food was excellent, but I felt greasy after some bites. I would recommend the burger. It contains two patties, bacon jam and truffle mayo. In particular, bacon jam added sweetness like caramelised onion. I thought it was onion at first.
We also ate a raclette dish and truffle potato. Raclette used blue cheese, but the smell wasn't that strong. However, it was a bit disappointing with just bits of meat. Truffle potato was quite lovely.
We drank fresh orange juice, and it was pretty refreshing.
