We enjoyed ourselves immensely; there is nothing quite so satisfying as good beer, good barbecue, and sunshine.
I've been meaning to write this for ages now, but with things happening at the end of last year, Christmas, New Year blah blah blah, it all got forgotten about. But finally here it is. The Flask ticks all the boxes for a good Sunday Roast. It has the appearance of an old time boozer, how it was in yesteryear, even though the brewers gave the place a refurb a few years ago. They did a good job for it to keep its original character. There's a nice dining area out the back, which has a lot of space and is better for large groups to dine away. Which we were, and we did. The ales on tap are a sight to behold. I'm a big fan of Young's Bitters, so I was right at home here. The staff are friendly, although some do look mighty young and not too bright neither, but we'll forgive them as they did a good job of keeping us content, plus the chefs cooked a storm. Yes, we were here for one thing only. A bloody good Sunday roast, and yes we got it. It's a little on the pricey, but we are in Hampstead
My go to place in London for a Sunday roast! Service today was exceptional, heaps of roast options on the menu and local beers on tap. We sat out in the booth and enjoyed the front bar. The scotch egg was fantastic the the roast simply perfect 👌🏻
Definitely will need to book in advance as they are usually packed. Portions are massive and the roast was definitely worth the price. Food was greasy for me but it is a roast after all. Definitely fit for meat lovers but they also accommodate for vegetarians and have other dishes on the main menu
I came here without any expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Sunday at lunchtime the pub was packed but the service didn’t take long. Their scotch eggs were pretty good, although the fish and chips were really outstanding. Friendly atmosphere and ok prices for the area.
First time having Sunday roast in Hampstead and first time for my friends from abroad to have Sunday roast, scotch egg and sausage roll EVER. Great food, friendly staff and lovely location in a small bustling alley near cafes and ice cream shops, tucked away from the main high street. Do note that they have two entrances - one side for drinking and one side for more spacious restaurant seating.
We were able to book the night before for a 12 noon slot and were given really spacious seating. It gets more crowded towards 1pm, but has a very comfortable and vintage vibe.
We were worried about the food being oily from other reviews but it wasn't at all. Portions of the roast were very filling. We got the roast beef and pork - it was all around wonderful. Before the roast, we ordered scotch eggs, sausage roll and fries whilst waitng for our friend. Those were delicious too. According to one of my friends, these were the best fries she ever had.
To quote my friends from abroad - "Feels like a typical English pub experience. Wish we could have visited more often." Will definitely be back again!
Sam and I did a pub crawl in Hampstead and this was the first pub. I had a Five Points Pale Ale from The Five Points Brewing Co out of Hackney London. This is one of two pubs we normally visit when in Hampstead. The other being the Holly Bush. This is a nice, clean pub with very good snacks. We split a pork and apple sausage roll. Very good indeed.
Really nice, atmospheric dog-friendly pub (particularly useful for dog-walking Health walkers) with good food. The only suggestion for improvement would be more veggie options.
And the service is good too.
The place was excellent, and we had a fantastic time. We decided to try their Sunday roast, which was quite decent and served in generous portions. Additionally, the Peroni-Lime beer we ordered was incredibly refreshing.
We are coming here now for 6 years and it never disappointed. Nice but busy historic pub in Hampstead. The Sunday roast is superb, reservations needed absolutely worth the visit. Love this place.

Fish and chips were surprisingly good! Really dog-friendly and lovely people working there. Only taking off a star as we were a bit forgotten about when it got busier.
Great location, service and ambience. Only knocked a star off because the pie we had wasn’t quite right - needed a lot more meat and Guinness and less tomato/carrot! The mash could’ve used more butter too. But all in all a good pub
We came here for Sunday lunch. They were very accommodating both over the phone and in person, as we had a guest with mobility requirements. The food (roast beef) arrived quickly after ordering it, and was very good. I hope to return.
I come to the flask fairly frequently, mainly just for drinks, but came for a late lunch on my last visit.
I had the fish and chips and my partner had the sausage and mash (we've both had these before). The fish was nice and crispy and the sausage and mash were OK, but the portion size seems to have become smaller, whilst the prices are almost eye watering for pub food.
I would recommend, but I'm not convinced those dishes were worth nearly ÂŁ20 each to be honest.
The food was amazing, I had the Ultimate Roast. The portion sizes were great. The chicken, pork were lush and so was the Yorkshire pud. My only criticism were the roast potatoes, they tasted ok but the texture was not crispy, it was too plain.
Always good to be here. Busy with a vibe. For a drink with the dog or food. Good options for both vegetarians and meat eaters and salad lovers! Ample parking at nights (well if you’re the designated driver) . Brought a Canadian tourist here, he loved the fish and chips.
Fabulous location, great interior, but as a pub now marred by the focus on food to the extent that rooms are out of bounds to drinkers even when no diners there. Understandable from a business point of view, but it spoils the overall experience of being in a special pub. Prices not cheap, but to be expected in Hampstead.
Beautiful and clean pub with lots of ambiance. My husband had the burger and they came with the absolute best crispy chips. I had a salad with roast beetroot and it was amazing.
They do table service which was nice for a change!
We brought our baby and they have an accessible toilet with change table, and they have a few high chairs available!
