This was the perfect place to read and relax while my daughter and I awaited our entry time into The Burnt City, just down the block. The space is expansive. We were there late afernoon/early evening on a weekday, and it wasn't super busy, so we could take our pick of seating: indoors or outdoors, cozy nook or bright open area. We were looking for atmosphere and found it. *visited early August*
Just ordered the “Whatever floats your goat” pizza and it was honestly one of the tastiest things I’ve had. They’re very generous with the portion and the customer service is pretty good. The chicken wings were alright. Sue was waiting on us and was extremely lovey. Overall a great experience and would definitely come here again.
P.s: This place is pretty good for work, so get your laptop and enjoy the lovely ambience inside.
I moved to the area a month ago and I’ve already been here 4 times! Twice for food, and twice for drinks. I’ve ordered most things on the menu and every time I’m super satisfied with the portions, temperature and overall taste! I also met Sue this time around and she’s extremely lovely too. Looks like Dial Arch will be my regular weekend spot from here on out.
Lastest Review After Revisiting Dial Arch (01/06/23)
Upgraded: 3 to 5 stars
We recently had the opportunity to revisit DA and had an entirely different experience compared to our previous visit. The previous time we went, it was incredibly busy, which unfortunately affected the quality of service and food. However, this time around, we were pleasantly surprised by the remarkable improvements in both aspects.
The food was impeccable. The steak I ordered was now tender and expertly seasoned. But the chicken supreme dish and the lamb croquettes were really the highlight.
Our server, Ollie, made the experience truly outstanding. He was attentive, I happened to have noticed he was glancing at our table every now and then, ensuring that all our needs were met, making us feel valued and well taken care of.
Our recent experience highlighted the dedication of the staff in overcoming challenges. We look forward to returning in the future.

Updated Review (29/05/23)
I recently had an opportunity to interact with Andre, the General Manager of Dial Arch. He reached out to me about my dining experience. I am thrilled to say that his response exceeded my expectations, and I am compelled to update my review accordingly.
Andre explained the situation and showed genuine concern and was accommodating in addressing my feedback. It was evident that they were passionate about improving their food and operations to provide a better experience for their customers.
While it didn’t change what I experienced when I visited the restaurant, I believe in acknowledging their efforts to investigate the issue and listen to customers. I am delighted to update my initial rating by an additional star.
I look forward to visiting again soon and experiencing the positive changes firsthand.
Updated Rating: 3 stars (from 2 stars)
Best regards,
Louis

Original Review:
I recently visited this restaurant for a meal, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I feel it is important to share my thoughts so that both the management and potential customers can be aware of the issues I encountered.
First and foremost, the restaurant was super busy during my visit. While I understand that busy periods can be challenging, it seemed that the staff were overwhelmed and struggling to keep up. Regrettably, 2 of our orders were forgotten and delayed, which meant that everyone else at my table had already finished their meals by the time they arrived. This lack of attention and delay in service was quite frustrating.
To make matters worse, the steak I ordered, while the doneness was correct, was disappointingly tough and chewy. It felt like I was attempting to consume a piece of rubber rather than a quality cut of meat. The lack of tenderness and flavor greatly detracted from my overall dining experience.
Moreover, the restaurant seemed to be in disarray. The person who looked like the manager couldn't be bothered. Maybe due to being overworked and understaffed. It took us a while to get seated. The reservation system is useless. I honestly get better service in Nando’s than here.
On a positive note, the staff members were friendly, despite their evident overwork. They were doing their best to handle the demanding workload, but it was clear that the restaurant was understaffed. I strongly suggest that the management reassess their staffing situation and training to ensure a better dining experience for their customers.
Given the numerous shortcomings I experienced, I regret to say that I won't be returning to this restaurant for meals. However, if you're looking for a place to grab drinks, it might still be worth considering, as the atmosphere and beverages could potentially be more enjoyable than the dining experience.
Overall, my visit to this restaurant was disappointing, largely due to the forgotten orders, delayed service, tough steak, and disorganized management. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the restaurant to make improvements in their operations and provide better experiences for their patrons.
Apologies for the half eaten food…
The food here is so good and the service is fantastic! I took my grandparents here and they absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend anyone coming here with their friends/family. And if you have an animal to bring them as it’s a dog friendly place!!
Great place, easy to get to and reasonably priced and nice atmosphere. The whole menu is lovely. But what brings me back is their pie. I LOVE their pie. With buttery mash and beautiful flaky pastry not to mention the filling. 👌🏽👌🏽
Amazing atmosphere in a big bar/ restaurant inside and out. You can order straight to your table from their Youngs app, and it will arrive within minutes. Prices are higher than normal, but you get what you pay for. Family-friendly place and definitely a must!
Went for our anniversary and it was great. The menu was very much seasonal and uber tasty.
My partner had chicken (lots) ,leek and ham pie with mash, carrots and speing greens. There was no skimping on that chicken, it define started on the bone and was torn rather than minced.
I had steak, triple cooked chips and a green peppercorn gravy (heaven). My steak was a perfectly cooked medium well, as you can see in the photo, the chef was on point!
Nice greenery on the side in the form of a courgette and pea salad, which was good but a little more courgette would have been perfect.
Dessert was fantastic we had apple crumble with ice cream and the black sesame panna cotta. Perfect end out the night out.
Very good pub in the Woolwich area. Inside it looks much more better then outside.
Beer was very good and tasty.
Pizza - 5/10, burger - 8/10.
Very good and fast service.
Dog friendly.
Shoutout to Sue!! If I could give 6 stars for the service I would. Sue always looks after my family so well and is very attentive and so kind to my children also. She's incredible as are all the staff. We love the Dial Arch.
I went with my friends to have dinner at dial arch and I must say I will definitely go there again, the service was great. Faye, the waitress was really funny with a great sense of humour and the pizza…oh man was soo tasty, we were told that the name of the chef who made our pizza was Aga, she is a pizza master 😍
Second visit to the Dial Arch, lived locally and didn't even know this place existed. Lovely atmosphere yesterday as the weather was favourable. I would have never chosen a burger on a menu, but I did and wasn't disappointed, beautiful!!!. A bit pricey, but with what I got, I'm happy. All washed down with a tall glass of shandy.
Would recommend.
Very apealing place with a great terasse. Good food and big selection of drinks (as long as you dont ask for Ricard). Service is a bit slow and you feel as if you bother them. The split between kitchen and bar is a bit bizar but overall a nice place!
George is an excellent barman and should be promoted to head manager ASAP.
It’s quite refreshing to meet someone who serves in a bar, who is passionate, chatty, and above all prompt
If the rest of the staff were like him, me and my mates will be here every day
Really good Sunday roast, especially the Yorkshire pudding. Went with the pork belly on staff's recommendation. Nice to sit outside when weather is good. Pretty big proportion so go with an empty stomach. Prices on higher side and may need to queue and place orders at the bar.
Been there loads over the last 2 years as it's officially the local, for new builds across the river.
This pub has always delivered. With or without a booking. Late or early. It's a great local pub.
Visited on a very busy Friday evening in autumn 2023. We ordered via the app as there was an extremely large but well organised queue to get to the bar. Drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly given how busy it was. The staff went the extra mile to be helpful, despite, again, being run off their feet. The food was standard pub options in the main but extremely tasty. I can especially recommend the pizzas - I think they have a wood fired oven.
Dial Arch has improved lately and the new manager is doing wonders. The food is always fresh and delicious and you can get a nice selection of drinks. Sitting inside or outside is not a problem. A real gem for Royal Arsenal Estate. Keep up the good work.
