What an awesome pub. Dozens of draft beers! Lots of ciders. Varied food. Burger, steak, dog, chicken, lasagne and many other options. Special discounts every day. Interesting prices. Spectacular setting. Hall from a previous bank, magnificent decoration. Helpful employees. Fast service.

Ideal location just a stones throw from borough market. There £5 pint of Pimms&lemonade is refreshing and well made. The back room smells a little funky though, so best to snag a table top (barrel) outside. Good place for day drinking!

We just had ales and lager. Good pub to unwind after a long walk through areas around london bridge. The location is also good as you get good snacks to go from various stalls all around.

Places like this are the reason CAMRA needs to be alive and campaign for the survival of real ale. The ale collection is unparalleled and something to boast about. Also notable is the food. Although not a very innovative selection, the food tastes quite good owing to the fact that it is cooked from fresh ingredients from the market. Perfect for standing outside and enjoy the british summer sun while tasting the best of ale. Ideal location, good ale, reasonably priced, it is the Aerosmith of ale pubs in London

Trivia: The pub prides itself on featuring in one of the harry porter movies.

The Market Porter is a great pub with a traditional feel and a choice of good beers on draught. The front door leads directly onto Borough Market, so the crowd at the bar is a little less the usual city types having the post work pint with mates and more diverse, especially on market day (Saturday) when tourists, stall holders and market punters converge on the Market Porter for some liquid refreshment after their hard work at the stalls.

The food is surprisingly good, although it has to be as at Borough Market you can eat extremely well from the stalls for very little. If you do stay indoors and you manage to find a table the 'Porter' burger is a dependable favourite.

A bit more interesting than your average London pub.

It's been a while since I was last here. The outside of the Pub was a bit obscured by street food vendors but all in all, it was a great night out. The Rugby World Cup was showing on the TV, The beer was great as usual and of course, it was a great atmosphere. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes real ale and a pleasant atmosphere. I couldn't comment on the food because we were out for drinks but I'm sure, with the vendors outside and the Pub food available, it'd make a great day out. Cheers!

I had the pleasure of performing twice at/in front of The Market Porter in Borough market this September, and had the best experience. Lovely staff, very helpful and attentive and kind. The fish and chips are divine. Great audience too! Thank you for having myself and Timeless Tim.

I had a pleasant dinner with scotch eggs with salmon, pumpkin & lamb meat pie and sticky toffee pudding. The pie is served with mashed potatoes and gravy sauce with a little bit of cabbage. I especially liked the sticky toffee pudding and recommended to all dessert lovers. While upstairs is the restaurant part, downstairs is the pub part, which makes it easier to go for drinks afterwards. The surrounding area is very lively.

Not very pretty from the outside, nor really downstairs…. However it is a real pub with very friendly staff and a lot of space between inside and out. Good spot to watch football. Hidden upstairs is a great English pub restaurant with simple but delicious food. It’s proximity to borough market is also excellent

Nicely located pub. My friend recommends the food. Would give it five but shutting the side door forcing people to walk all the way around the front to then go all the way to the back to the toilets was inconvenient and pointless.

All have a warm welcome when I visit, sometimes they even reserve a table for me, but don't tell or they will all want it done. Anyway, great staff always get a smile. Good range of ales, but I'm biased towards the Harveys Sussex Ale. I may try a different ale if it is not too strong. I haven't left stars on the food bit, as I don't eat when I'm there, but other customers seem to enjoy it.

Always dicey to go to a pub immediately next to a touristy area, but the beef Sunday roast was actually perfect- not trying to be too clever with anything, a decent portion of slightly pink beef, and with good gravy- and not just razor thin overcooked shreds of unidentifiable meat, they were real cuts. We were also lucky to have a table at the window overlooking the bustling market below. The chicken and lamb also looked good, the pork belly may not have had the fat rendered out enough. Service was friendly and straightforward.

Very good lunch again, good job we shopped in the market before we we’re stuffed. Always a good atmosphere in the restaurant best seats would be at the window looking into the market…. Yet to get on these though. 👍 ❤️

Located next to the Borough Market, less than 5 minute walk to London Bridge Underground station. Very tasty pub food. My go-to is mashed potato and sausages.

Good service, tasty beers and one of the best locations at Borough Market. If you want to be part of the vibrant crowd just have a pint at the terrace. Do you prefer a bit more private space? Then stay inside of The Market Porter. Either will be a good choice.

I used to visit the Market Porter Pub during my city days which was renowned for its selection of cask Ales. It's still a good pub although the cask ales have gone but it still has a good selection of beers and Ales on tap, including Timothy Taylor's Landlord. The staff were friendly. Located near to London bridge station and borough market.
