We were here on a Friday night and absolutely loved it! The vibe, decor, everything. Drinks and tapas were amazing too. Thank you to Kinga for looking after us throughout the night! We will be back! Customer service 10/10
I am a vegetarian, yet enjoyed every bite of the food here! So glad I came here on my last day in London
THE MOOD: A easy to reach location in Piccadilly and a little hidden away between two commercial properties so you may walk past without realisation of the great food inside. Coya serves up a number of Peruvian sharing plates.
The decor does not really shout out and less pretentious than some other venues so you will always feel comfortable.
THE FOOD: The set lunch menu is a deal at £28.00 per person for two courses but you do choose two items from the first section and then one main from the next.
The journey began with the Ensalade de Quinoa (Quina, coriander, mint, pomegranate) which had a real sharpness to the dressing and a really good dish to cleanse the pallet and also the portion was big enough to also have as an accompaniment to the main. Followed by the Anticucho de Pollo (2 Chicken skewers, ahi amarillo, garlic) were cooked well and a really pleasant marinade not too much to overpower the chicken but just the right balance.
We also had the Berenjena (Japanese aubergines, miso, sesame) cooked to perfection with a nice crispiness.
The final accompaniment we had was the broccoli which was to die for
The main course I opted for the beef and I was glad I did. Given the lunch time deal I was surprised by the portion size and although there was some fat and not the best cut of beef I have had the marinade was at the top of my list.
Even though this was a lunch with sharing plates still ended up spending around 2-3 hours and time flew past but still could not finish all the food.
A great selection of desserts was beckoning me but I was too full to try but next time I will not leave without trying as I could see a few on the list I would love to try.
THE DRINK: Now as I personally do not drink means I may not be the best to advice on this but I do try to take someone along who does and likes seafood more than me so I am able to give a more rounded review. However on this occasion no one was in the mood to drink (heavy night before I was told) but luckily Coya has three non-alcholic cocktails and one I have had before I thought I would try again to check its consistency. So I ordered the Inti - which consists of passion fruit and pineapple with vanilla syrup and coconut purée. - This is probably on of the best non alcoholic drinks I have had and such a great blend of refreshing flavours. Coconut hint which leaves the perfect amount of aftertaste and when you don’t usually like coconut but love this it is a testimony to the mixologist. Consistent from the last time and the only difference it this time it was served in a simple tall glass and last time I was given a decorative container. There was an extensive wine menu however.
THE VERDICT: A fantastic place to each to share or not to share. Good selection of food including many seafood items as well as a selection of vegetarian as well as beef and chicken. The sharing portions are a good size and so will be looking to visit again but I would advise booking in advance as it seems the venue is always busy.
THE BILL: This came to £125.00 for two with just two non-alcoholic cocktails. So i would say on the high side of things for a lunch.
Wow what an amazing meal! Loved it from starter to dessert. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was so good. The Chilean sea bass croquettes with red chilli was unbelievably good. The chilli packed a good punch in to the dish I would go back for this starter alone. Also I really did enjoy the pulled pork bao buns immensely. The other dishes were also very pleasing as was the chocolate dessert. The pisco sour was fantastic.
Coyas food is amazing, the atmosphere is so chic especially in the private dining room, loved the live music and the staff was so helpfull and honest. It felt like i was eating in my own dining room. Peruvian food is amazing especially the crab tacos and maissalad !!
I’ve come late to the Coya bandwagon. When the first London outpost opened a coupla years ago – and Nikkei/Peruvian cuisine started being a trend – I’ve put it on my “hit list”. But, as life happens, you tend to take for granted things or places (sometimes people, LOL) that are just close by. So a Coya visit has been placed in the backburner of a “hit list” notebook that’s long forgotten.
Great foods, lovely flavour and a relaxed vibe. Its a different feel from what i'm used to. Not typical restaurant style. Coya has low chairs and table, but the ambiance and vibe is 'sit and relax'.
We ordered Chicha coldada cocktail, Trio Ceviche, Gambas,Berenjena as starters and Chuletas de Borrego and Lubina Chilena for mains. Everything on the menu is for sharing, which is good ! We finished it with dulce de leche, and sweetcorn desserts. Loved everything, a bit pricey and portions are bit small.
What a place. it is a great place for a great food. Ist time had peruvian food. Was really surprised by the variety of vegetarian options. the wild mushroom dishes were really great. mini tacos was really nice and the brocolli and asparagus was amazing.
the amience was little too dark and found the overall place a bit cramped. but want to impress someone with your knowledge of food and great palate, this is the place
WoW!!! Although I'm not that into Peruvian Cuisine but this one just blew my mind away. From the ambience to the service to the food taste and quality.... all were top notch. This is one place I will definitely recommend to all my friends. Cheers and keep it up.
Coya Mayfair is a gem. Inventive food, efficient and well-informed service and beautiful ambiance with delicate lighting and acoutics and an eclectic selection of art, for decor and purchase.
I went one Friday lunchtime for a work celebration. We started the afternoon with pisco sours (of course) in the bar before moving to the dining room. As we were keen to make the most of the day, our server offered to choose a selection of best sellers and specialties from various parts of the menu. Of the starter courses, the dishes that really stood out include; the spicy tuna ceviche, yellowtail tuna tiraditos, beef skewers (pictured below), and chicken wontons. We also tried the seabass ceviche, which was good but slightly lacking in flavour in comparison, and the octopus (normally a favourite of mine) served with an olive tapenade, which I thought was a bold and not entirely convincing flavour combination.
The next selection of dishes was primarily from the grill and all were sensational. We had the spicy beef fillet (epic), the sprouting broccoli (a must!), crispy potatoes with spice tomato and huancaina sauce, lamb chops, and seafood paella (which was the star of the show). Make sure to save room for these grill dishes. Coya also boasts a comprehensive wine list from various regions around the world. To accompany the fish dishes we selected a lovely Chablis and then moved on to a Barolo with the grill dishes. Both were stunning and reasonably priced. For desert, the chocolate lava cake (only sometimes on the menu) can't be missed. All in all, Coya is a sensational experience and an absolute must for any foodie!
A big fan of Peruvian food , had to end my london trip with a lunch at coya , i think the london branch is the best branch.
Service was also very good , i love the salmon spicy ceviche and of course the spicy beef.
My Peruvian food-cherry was popped at Coya and no place compares! From delicious ceviches to tender chicken to a formidable wine list, Coya provides a memorable and intimate dining experience for you and your loved ones! My sister Spandana Ch. truly had a wonderful birthday dinner here!
So this is my final London restaurant review until next year. I can't quite believe it to be honest, it still feels as though I'm in a dream world. I just can't quite believe I'm actually in Australia and don't have to leave in a few weeks! Before I left London three weeks ago I ticked the biggie off my 'London bucket list', and finally dined at the luxury Peruvian restaurant Coya in Mayfair, with three of my fave blogging ladies. It was honestly one of the best meals I've had in London, and I loved it so much I even visited the Coya bar in Dubai a week later...
Amazing Peruvian place to definitely try out when in London. Great service, very nice ambiance, professional service and exquisite food.
We started our dinner with their famous Pisco Sour cocktail. Very fresh and tasty Peruvian drink that has Pisco, lime, sugar, egg white and amargo chuncho bitters. If you don't fancy this mix, then you can still pick one of their various cocktails.
Food wise, we had a selection of different dishes that made this tasting experience very rich.
1) Ceviches - Dorada Criollo, Corvina Trufa and Lubina Ecuatoriano. All very tasty and fresh
2) Atun Nikkei Tiradito: raw fish in the shape of sashimi and aspect similar to carpaccio
3) Ensalada de maiz was delicious. If you like corn, definitely go for it
4) Anticuchos - Gambas: tasty but a bit dry
5) Josper: Bife de chorizo - very juicy and tasty
6) Verduras - Esparragos Peruanos
7) Desert: ordered the chocolate fundido and the mousse au chocolat. Was definitely less impressed by the desert selection but all in all everything was good
Ambiance: Amazing
Food: very tasty and fresh
Service: extremely professional and amiable
Staff: friendly
Specialty: Seafood and raw fish/Peruvian

The food is amazing in this place. Truly special place. The atmosphere is great, the interior is nice. Spread over 2 floors this restaurant has Latino music played by a DJ. But for me this restaurant is all about food, which is Peruvian. The South American wine selection is class too. Strongly recommend
The quantity is too less for the price. But food is exceptionally good for non veg but not veg. For began dishes are limited tasty but not out of the world. Desserts must try.

Beers, they not the usual type of poison I tend to go for. Over the years I started to acquire a taste for them. I love light beers like Asahi or Chang. Spanish craft brewery Alhambra beer invited me to Coya restaurant for a gastronomic experience of a 12-course sharing pairing menu of the Peruvian cuisine.
Have you ever visited a restaurant that has rocketed into your favourites on the premise of one stand-alone visit? Well, I hadn’t until last Wednesday evening when I gratefully took up an invitation to celebrate the launch of the new Casamigos Tequila tasting menu. The food and cocktails were exquisite, the Tequila education an eye-opening delight, our surroundings perfectly attuned to the Latin American theme and last but not least a cordial and upbeat atmosphere with my fellow diners made the whole evening a highly pleasurable and satisfying experience.
We went there for dinner a few weeks ago. Very chic and authentic place where you can eat gourmet Peruvian food while enjoying a nice vibrant atmosphere. Book in advance. Do not mind waiting a bit before getting seated. Large variety of dishes. It is not cheap but worth it.
Great place! Very good food that come in small portioned dishes! A little bit expensive but you get what you pay for! Love the atmosphere and its also really good to just visit for a drink at the bar!
Coya is a nice change from other restaurants. A South American fusion refined food. Fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere and definitely nice cocktails. Go for specialties as much as you can if you don't mind trying. Date or small groups outing.
We decided today that we're gonna pass by Coya for lunch after hearing that they changed the menu from Asian to Peruvian. The new theme is latino inspired yet it was depicted in a very luxurious way. The staff is very welcoming and they did actually welcome us after we arrived lately. The staff is also very responsive and professional. They explained the new menu to us in a simple yet effective way for us to understand. The food was better than what I expected from Peruvian food.
For food we ordered the following
Gambas: the staff recommended this to me. It is basically prawn tempura. The prawn was fried perfectly and wasn't oily. The presentation was great and the portion size was really good. The sauce that came with it had too much onion I suppose. To sum up, the dish deserves a 4/5
Baby squid: I didn't like this much to be honest. The squid was topped with jalepeno and some sauce I can't remember the name. But what I do remember is that the sauce wasn't rich in flavour. This dish will receive no more than 3/5
Qinoa Salad: the sauce was perfect, the portion was perfect. The flavours were balanced. The dish would be perfect if it had more of the crunchy goodness (ex: walnuts) and a bit more of the pomegranate is recommended. This plate definitely deserves 4.5/5
Pollo chicken skewers: the chicken was marinated and was topped with chilli pepper. There were only two skewers so please do order more if you came in as a group. The taste was good but a bit of more lemon would definitely enhance the taste and bring it up to the next level. This deserves no less than 4/5
Spicy beef: we were recommended by the staff to order this as it was their "best seller" "signature dish". The beef was a bit chewy and I didn't like the sauce much. The meat was good but again it was chewy. It was tasty but not something I would die for 3/5
Chocolate fondant: this is their signature dessert. It is a chocolate fondant with Coya's logos on the cake. The cake wasn't rich in flavour. I just wish that their could be more chocolate in the cake and perhaps it should be warmer. The ice cream that accompanied the cake was AGAIN poor in flavour. After having many bites of it, I realised it was coffe ice cream. 3.5/5
Will I come again? Yes
I do hope that the restaurant takes my notes into consideration. Also, I would like to note that the tables are too small for the food to fit in.
Had a really great experience in Coya and I do hope to visit them again in Dubai.
Coya must be one of the hardest places in London to book a table for dinner on a weekend... I know this, because I've tried to come here for dinner several times. Unless you are willing to dine at 5:30pm , or 11pm, you have to seriously book in advance. . When I finally made it, I fell so much in love with this restaurant that I came to here to eat 3 times that week. I've always been a big fan of Peruvian food, but when it's done this well, who can resist?
Went out with a business dinner on a weeknight, the place was full and the a place was quite busy and akin to a lounge rather than a place for some conversations.
We were offered seats in front of the bar and the host refused to move us inside. We had made reservations a week in advance so probably one needs to be specific.
Food was good with a decent variety. We started of with some Peruvian beer and some starters. They have a sharing concept so ordered about four starters for the three of us. Service was pretty quick. We then ordered the main course along with some sides and wine.
We were quite stuffed so we skipped the deserts.
Overall, quick service so one must go slow on the order.
I’ve made some great friends through blogging and I’ve got to know Lauren really well in the past few months. In fact we’ve got so close that she invited me along to her birthday dinner with some of her best friends, including Colleen who I’ve also been getting to know well recently. Lauren had chosen Peruvian restaurant, Coya in Mayfair for the location of the celebration, and after a few Pisco Sours in the bar we went into the buzzy main restaurant to find our table.
Nice ambiance, nice music, good service, and good food! I have to mention that the food is great however, it is a bit heavy! The cocktails are great and the bar tenders are really great!
Cast your mind back a few weeks... Halloween weekend was a busy little shindig for me. When I wasn't dressed up as either Catwoman or a vampire queen I was out for lunch. Coya was the highlight. But before I tell you all about it, here's a quick snapshot of my costumes. Friday night I broke the cardinal rule and didn't go as anything scary, naughty me. But I think I made up for it with Saturday's costume, there was plenty of fake blood.
In our quest to constantly try what’s new without having to leave the W1 postcodes, Peruvian cuisine has recently been given the London makeover. Lima, of Fitzrovia, remains the best if you are going for the food alone, and was awarded a Michelin star for it. But eating in London is rarely only about the food. So if it’s a pleasant demonstration of Peruvian cooking without the risk of the unfamiliar or too foreign, then Coya will be perfect for you. With outposts already in Miami and Dubai, it is a restaurant made for the international class- those who stay in the Grand Park Hyatt and look down on the exotic streets from their 30th floor room. You can say you’ve been there, and tick it off the list, but really it’s no different to your experience of any other city or cuisine.
I was recommended to check out this restaurant, but was rather skeptical since I'd had never tried Peruvian food before. However, my experience there was exceptional. The bartender was friendly and quite flexible with innovating drinks of your choice. The waiters couldn't have been friendlier with recommending food choices. The quinoa salad was my absolute favourite. The food and dessert had great presentation overall. This place is a must try in London!
I recently discovered this restaurant and it has got to be one of the best restaurants in London. Already when coming down the stairs, you feel the special, nice and warm atmosphere of this place. The service was excellent, cocktails very good and food fantastic. Being vegetarian, my choice is most of the time quite limited but that wasn't the case here - a lot of delicious vegetarian things on the menu. I'll definitely be back, and not just once.
Great atmosphere, delicious Peru food and hilarious people for sure. We ate lots of things but the best one was spicy beef because of their special grilling style.
Love the food and the atmosphere, especially if you go with a group.
Been to their white party last year, the whole place was covered with white fabric. Good music. It was so much fun!
'Patatas bravas' highly recommended..
Never disappointed!
We had our hotel to book for us, unfortunately they didn't find us a table in the main dinning area so we were seated in the bar area. The seats were not comfortable to bring business associates. Then the guy how was in charge on our table did a great job in explaining the menu and putting his recommendations. When I tasted the tuna tartar, the mini tacos we all went to a different order. The food and service were extraordinary, the people I invited highly appreciated the place and choice. It is a highly recommend place.
Excellent food. The starters quinoa salad, beans with lettuce, mushroom skewers, goat cheese salad, veg tacos. The C skewers and wings very good. Grilled C and crispy potatoes. The service is excellent. Member's area is very small and noisy. Restaurant is also very noisy. Would recommend a must try.
Exceptional!!! A must visit for everyone in London. One of the 3 restaurants globally, the Peruvian food here is to die for.
A great collection of malts, wines and beers.. And a food menu that makes you pretty much trade off between the
The raw food didn't seem raw at all - the sauces or the broth with each of these dishes was spectacular.. The chicken was very well cooked..
The desserts belonged to another planet.. The Peruvian one was mind blowing. The chocolate dishes could give any place a run for its money..
Must tries - Lubina Clasico and Salmon Nikkei..
So I heard rumours that there was a fantastic place near Green Park. So I just had to investigate things for myself. Not the usual type of food that I would eat, it was Peruvian. It had quite sharp complex flavours on top of rawer food than the English palate is used to. Not having experienced Peruvian things before, I went with an open mind.
I’ve been to Coya before. Situated in what could in the wrong hands have felt like a cavernous basement, the Peruvian restaurant has been carefully fitted out, fusing Inca styling with Spanish Colonial opulence to create a hidden Palace. Ultra comfortable seating, dark cobalt walls, open kitchens with assado and ceviche stations and clever lighting create a stage for dining. This is a theatre for food and I feel as if I’ve got dress circle seats.
Great food and amazing friendly service. Must admit that I'm a novice at Peruvian food, but the flavors were innovative and all dishes excellent. Also lots of choices for vegetarians.
Tuna tartar tacos with yuzu and the smallest dollop of mayo was my favourite dish of the day. And I think that they are the ideal way of eating 'junk food' that's also low in calories.
Before our main courses we took a moment to fully appreciate the rustic interior of Coya, with it's Incan colour scheme, metallics, Peruvian artefacts and murals it feels like a traditional taste of Peru in the middle of London.
Fantastic. I went for sunday brunch with a group of friends, and I'd highly recommend a visit. For start the brunch menu is an absolute steal at £36, £59 with unlimited champagne til the dessert arrives. The starters were super fresh and tasty, ceviche and salads, tacos and pulled pork. My main was Chilean seabass with a risotto which was delicious. The desserts werent necessarily to my taste but im definitely more of a savoury peraon anyway. The room is lovely and the waiting staff helpful and ready to explain a disk and its ingredients. There was a dj in the bar next door but the music was just the right volume to make it upbeat.
I took a bite of the prawn tempura and was bland, but we are at a peruvian and not japanese place so I am not surprised
Salmon with cucumber and mint: Spicy and nicely cooked but so not what you go to Coya for…(again, his order, not mine)
The kitchen counter is like the sushi bars you’d find in Japanese restaurants and it looked similar to the one at Zuma with large bowls of lemons on the counter and fresh seafoods like rosy tuna belly, yellowtail and gigantic prawns the size of a lobster. Opened by Arjun Waney, who’s also behind Zuma, Coya aims at the high end dining market with a separate bar and restaurant in the spacious downstairs of Piccadilly (close to Hyde Park Corner). With no name on the building, it could’ve been anything but a restaurant and definitely not for the casually walk-ins unless you know it’s there - look for the 118 number on the building, otherwise you’ll miss it! For me, Ceviche in Soho is a casual night out with friends. Energetic music, small and dark dining room, tapas styled dishes for everyone to share. But you have to book and it’s difficult to find an ideal time sl
As you walk through the heavy front door on Piccadilly, you are greeted by a spectacular chandelier lighting your way down the stairs to the bar and restaurant, a fitting precedent to what should be a fabulous experience. The theatre of dining, Peruvian style. There are several distinct areas, so that the large space doesn’t feel cavernous and the vivid colours of the upholstery contrasts with dark wood and terracotta tiled floors to create an almost intimate atmosphere. Peruvian inspired but refined and polished with Arjun Waney flair. Of course the first drink you should order is a Pisco Sour, a cocktail created in the 1920s which uses a mixture of Peruvian Pisco (a grape based distilled alcohol), egg white, bitters, sugar syrup and lime to create a frothy drink with a real kick).
My server was sweet and attentive, the food — the ceviche in particular — was sharp and bright, and the vibe was so very very bossanova chill.
Nice peruian restaurant. Ceviches very nice. Dont forget to have pisco sour as predinner. Seabass from robata grill very ju8cy and delicious. Enjoy
The food here was beautiful the portions were excellent they had all vast array of dishes which were all equally unusual and I loved the Quinoa and sweet corn ice cream. The decoration was beautiful as well
As a Latino lady myself, I am always down to sample a South American dish. When put alongside some girlfriends who are always partial to a bit of glam, we headed to Coya, tucked downstairs on Picadilly. As we headed downstairs, we found ourselves in an Aladdin's cave of liquer and warm, delicious foodie smells. Whilst the bar extends across one side, through a little archway is the restaurant. The ambience is cosy and novel indeed, and whilst it feels like it is trying not to be pretentious, the clientele suggests otherwise. It is easy to spend an extortionate amount here, depending on how many little dishes you find yourself needing after a Pisco Sour or four, so be prepared to embrace it fully and get your snaffle on.The crispy prawn crackers came with a smashed avocado dip, perfect for snaffling whilst waiting for our little dishes. The sea bass ceviche was perfect: soft, flavoursome and the right amount of sharpness to bring your taste buds to life. The corn salad consisted of an array of textures, giving a wholesome, full flavour to the dish. The pork belly was absolutely to die for; crispy pork scratchings with melt-in-your-mouth meat, served in a sweet, rich sauce. It is easy to spend too much money, but try it out, embrace the ambience and be warned: Pisco + latino tunes= the need for a dance floor.
Coya is in my list of the most unique restaurants in London. Coya is located in Mayfair and they serve Latin American and Peruvian food.
The atmosphere is excellent at coya and so is the decor. The lighting is dim and it gives a very modern feel. Coya has a high end crowd and the place is always buzzing.
They have live performances on saturday night which can be enjoyed with the great food here. The staff at Coya is friendly and welcoming. They treat you with warmth.
Like I have mentioned before , I absolutely love chilli ,the corn salad, with chillies is one of my favourite dishes here. The Ensalada Peruana ( salad) is worth trying. From the mains I would recommend the Chilean sea bass and Chuletas de Borrego( Lamb chops )
The lemon Tart at Coya is a must.
Coya is one of the most original and unique places I've been to in London. I had never heard of Peruvian food prior to having heard so much about this place, and I'm really glad I tried it. Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the service is excellent. Like many other places, Coya fits into the high-end very much spoken-of restaurants that needs reservation and planning-but it's so worth it! The restaurant is quite large, and dimly lit, and quite classy. It also feels very exotic, has good music and is overall quite loud. I recommend this for an occasional night out, a birthday,(we celebrated my friends birthday here with her parents and had a really really good time-they have group menus available). Coya portions are tapas-like. Given that I'm a big fish-eater, I really liked the variety of unique fish dishes offered on the menu. The dishes that really struck me were: The Corvina Trufa (big fan of anything with truffle) which was so tasty that once we finished eating the fish and the waiter came to pick up the plate, we, with great embarrassment, asked him to leave it on the table so we could eat the remaining sauce with our spoons)--Anyway, the sweet corn salad and the quinoa salad are also worth a try, as well as the yellow fin tuna ceviche. In terms of main courses, (which are also small platters) I recommend the Chilean Sea Bass, or the chicken. Coya is really the type of place where you can pick a few dishes and share them with who ever you're with. Overall, I am very satisfied with this place, and I think it's worth the price.
Coya is a great venue located in the Mayfair area with closest tube station- Hyde Park Corner. The cuisine in the restaurant is Peruvan, Latin American.
The restaurant offers a bar as well with cozy and modern atmosphere.
In the menu you can find traditional meals of the Peruvan cuisine and enjoy their selection of coctails.
In this unique place you can enjoy live performance from bands and dj sets from retro to new style of music mixes.
I had the best dining experience by far at this place. The food that we ordered was beautifully presented on our table and extremely delectable backed by highly attentive and efficient crowd. I would highly recommend this place to everyone for a fabulous evening with some mouth watering dishes to feast upon.
The atmosphere here is very lively and buzzing with people. The staff here is very quick, efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. They are also very amicable and fun to be with. This is a great place to try some Peruvian food. The place is always packed but the noise levels are always tolerable. The food is absolutely amazing, especially the tapas. I will surely be returning here.
This was our fist visit to this restaurant serving peruvian cuisine. The food is incredible. Flavors are used interestingly to create innovative dishes. We had risotto, meat, fish, skewers from grill. Would specially mention the staff and manager, they explained the peruvian food heritage to us and the chat experience was memorable!
Every dish here is very unique, innovative and like no other dish you have taste. Each bite is full of flavour and innovation. The menu is very varied and provides a lot of options for everyone. I have decided to try everything off their menu. The ambiance can be a bit more quiet. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend it.
The place offers authentic Peruvian cuisine and it was the first time we were visiting it. The menu is quite extensive and offers a variety of dishes to choose from. The service was good and prompt, and our server was very knowledgeable as well as being hospitable. The atmosphere is great here and the decor is beautiful. The service of cocktails was not so prompt though. Nevertheless, I would definitely be back.
I have been to this place quite a few times. Our last visit was pretty decent as well with w few glitches. The food was excellent and had wonderful flavours to it. The service was pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm and friendly. There were a few glitches in the service, though. Anyhow the overall experience was fine and thus, would like to pay visit again.
The place is wonderful and offer some really good food , and at great prices . The food was freshly prepared , and cooked to perfection . The stares were amazing , the corn salad being my favourite . Will go back soon for the food and the impeccable service here .
The place has extensive menu and interesting choices. EACH dish is incredibly flavorsome, the ingredients and spices uplift the dish to a new level! Amazing small sharing options as well. We ordered, Yellow tuna fish and papas bravas. BOTH highly recommended ! The place is expensive but definitely worth it!
This is now my new favorite restaurant in this city. The staff at this place is very charming and pleasing. They are ready to help you promptly at any point, whether you need recommendations or even if you want few dishes to be custom made for your self. My personal favorite is their sea bass and salmon tacos. The decor as well is aesthetic.
The restaurant is the new hot favorite in the neighborhood. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. The ambiance is also cool and modern and funky. The place is suitable for weekend evenings to enjoy with friends and such. The downside is the inadequate portion sizes and at such steep prices, it is not worth it!
When in London you absolutely must visit this place. It has become my all time favourite and I recommend it to all my friends who go to London. I would call it a perfect place to dine out. The interior is tastefully done and suits the youth bang on. The soft music in the background and the dim lighting only add up to the wonderful dining experience. The food is a class apart. Something that your taste buds will relish for a lifetime. Do not forget to book a table before you visit otherwise there is simply no chance that you can get to eat here!
Everything from food to decor to their service was in sync with each other and perfect. To begin with, they make some really good and refreshing cocktails. I would recommend their spicy beef and sea bass. They were delectable ans so high on flavors. I also loved their dessert selections.
To begin with, Atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing, however, bar area is better than restaurant. Coming to service, incredibly welcoming, attentive and amicable without being intrusive. In food, we ordered tapa size plates in main course. The food is MIND BLOWING. It is drool worthy. Prices are HIGH but definitely worth it!
We were a group of five people and we happened to visit this restaurant for dinner a couple of weeks ago. I'm not a big fan of Peruvian food, but most of the dishes we ordered tasted amazing. Out of all the dishes that we ordered, just the Tiger prawns were not impressive, and other than that, most of the dishes were brilliantly prepared.
The only negatives that I found about this place were that we had to wait for a long time before getting a table and the restaurant charged us a little extra, without asking us about it.
In my opinion ,this is a gem of a place. The interiors are lovely and divided in two sections, the ground floor pretty casual and the upstairs sophisticated and posh.
The most amazing thing though about the place is its menu. The mains has a selection of the best of the Peruvian cuisine, the desserts section has some brilliant sweet delights and the list of beverages quite impressive. The taste is traditional but the place also lends some creativity to the classic dishes which taste fantastic! Lovely food, do try!
The restaurant offers a sweet amalgamation of both Eastern and Western cuisine. The menu is unique and innovative. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented. The service is efficient. The ambiance is cool, sophisticated and appealing. The prices are steep but acceptable. Highly recommended and I cannot wait to visit again.
I visited this upscale place recently and was quite impressed with it. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and had wonderful flavour to it. The ambience was pretty decent as expected from an exclusive place. The service was good and the food presentation was lovely. Overall it was a wonderful experience and would love to visit this place again.
This restaurant has both lounge bar that has a pretty snack menu as well as a private lounge for members. We were their in the lounge, atmosphere was very lively and vibrant there. We were in a big group and we enjoyed our drinks and food with some nice music playing in the background.
I visited Coya a couple of days back. Located very next to the Green Park makes it very reachable and convenient. It possesses a very exquisite decor and eloquent interiors. I just cannot get over the bar section. The experience of being at this place was marvelous. The service is amazing, the selection and collection of cocktails is something to die for. All in all a very great place to chill out. Cheers.
Being a peruvian i am not too much into japanese cuisine and often find most dishes bland for my taste buds. However, went with someone and we ordered prawn tempura and salmon with mint cucumber. It was very flavorsome and cooked perfectly. I think they can still do better but not bad to try!
This dramatic Peruvian feeling restaurant is very theatrical in appeal. With a stunning colour scheme, this restaurant is very attractive in appearance as much as in the quality of food. The décor is a combination of luxurious furnishings as well as relaxed interiors.
A must visit if you are looking out for a good setting.
Wonderful food here , the best I have had actually . The starters were mind blowing , everything so [perfect , the drinks served chilled , and all the food looked so appetizing ,while tasting equally good . Would love to come back here , and would recommend to everyone .
This restaurant captures the South American cuisine and the feel very appropriately ,in fact the interiors are very energetic and chilled out too.
I very much liked the ambiance set by the combination of impressive decor and the wonderful background music.
The service though was a tad bit slow initially but overall was pretty good, the manager attentive too.The place does get filled pretty quickly so be ready for a little wait.
Talking about the food, the menu had some really great items and the food was prepared in a very attentive and caring manner. The flavors then brought out was simply impeccable and of premium standard. The drinks though were not that great and they tasted only average.
I tasted some of the most amazing dishes ever so recommendation is difficult but i will advise on definitely tries the pork skewers, calamari and chilean sea bass!
I want to rush back again to sample other dishes on the menu!
I would not go on writing about the menu and their price here because you can anyway find that on zomato. This place is amazing and has a lot to offer. The ambiance of this place is totally next level to awesome. I loved the decor of this place and found it quite it fancy. The staff was well dressed, well coordinated and very cooperative. If you want to try amazing Peruvian food then this is the place for you. The service was efficient. They were generous enough to provide large portions of the items we had ordered. Excellent value for money.
Coya is one of the most lavish restaurant Ive been to in a while! The food here is extremely different to what you mostly get in restaurants around the area. When i heard of Peruvian as a cuisine, i wasn't even sure what to expect! The corn salad, with chillies and crunchy elements is something that's now on my top 10 favourite foods list. It has the perfect balance of sweet, sour, tang and spice along with crunch! Besides this, i also loved the marinated tiger prawns which were had so much flavour that we had to order a second round!
The level of quality of food and service here is exquisite, the interior is also really nicely done up with a true Peruvian atmosphere to it! A place a would highly recommend if you're willing to pay the price!
Coya is one of my favourite restaurants that serves the most unique food. I absolutely love the corn salad here, and I'm not a big salad fan, so that is saying something! It is full of flavour, mixed with different types of corn and crunchy as well!
I love the lamb chops. Marinated beautifully and succulent meat that goes great with the corn rice.
Decor is stunning - you feel as if you're in an authentic Peruvian setting. Blues, oranges and golds make it a comfortable and homely, but still ornate restaurant which attracts friends, families and couples.
I have had the same waitress for the last two times and she was super friendly and helpful. Also had a sense of humour with made the night more enjoyable. Service has been excellent before that too.
Definitely something to try! (And its worth the hefty price tag)
The Halal: A huge selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes but the meat and poultry are not halal. Pork and alcohol are served at Coya.
The Place: Facing Green Park and amongst the most affluent hotels in Park Lane is Coya, one of London’s coolest Peruvian restaurant. The chefs work under the inquisitive eyes of customers in three open kitchens: the open charcoal grill, the ceviche bar and the central kitchen. They throw knives and do tricks but if you’re sat at the opposite end of the restaurant you’ll miss the entertainment: this may be a good or bad thing depending on your taste! The interior decor is Latino meets Mayfair: dim lighting, peruvian tribal masks hanging on metallic walls, leather sofas and tables and doors made of rustic dark wood. Head chef Sanjay Dwivedi cooked for over a decade at Zaika in Kensington and spent some time working at Astrid Y Gaston in Lima – one hopes the experience is reflected in the cooking!
The Food: Our waitress was extremely helpful and suggested we try several of the most popular dishes which was a blessing in hindsight given we didn’t have a clue! The plates are for sharing and we were told it would be good to choose a selection of 3-4 per person depending on how hungry we were.
A Peruvian restaurant would not be complete without a fine selection of Ceviche. We went for the Atun Chifa (yellowfin tuna, sesame seeds, shrimp cracker) which was elegantly served on ice.
The tiraditos are similar to ceviche but with thinner slices of marinated fish. We decided to go for the Pez Limon (yellowtail, green chilli, radish). The presentation was exquisitely colourful and very artistic. The taste was fantastic as well! Tangy and full of zest with little bubbles of caviar popping in your mouth.
We were next recommended to try the Chilean sea bass with amarillo chilli. The waitress informed us that they sell more than 100 portions per day and it is on of their most popular dishes. The sea bass was cooked to perfection with a sweet and sticky coating and then a warm spicy aftertaste. We were also encouraged to try the Ensala de Maiz (Corn salad). This was prepared with three different varieties of corn and was absolutely fantastic- soft and crispy textures with the sweetness of corn and tang of lime: a flavour sensation to tell your friends about and who would have thought these simple ingredients would have us excited so much!
We were keen to try something from the charcoal grill and as the meat was not halal we went for the monkfish. This was barbequed on a Josper which is a type of Peruvian grill that adds a smoky flavour. The monkfish was a bit of a disappointment in taste and presentation. To accompany we ordered the sprouting broccoli and the Patatas Bravas a la Peruana which came with a spicy tomato and cream sauce. The patatas bravas disappeared quite quickly off the plate- yum!
A ‘cazuela’ is a South American cooking pot. The vegetarian one at Coya was called the Papa Seca- peruvian dried potatoes, butternut squash, broccoli and a poached egg. We were expecting a dry dish of potatoes but instead received a stew of vegetables and egg. Unexpectedly, the taste was quite nice. There was a depth of flavour in this hearty pot of food.
We’d left just enough space for some desserts. An exotic fruit bowl, chocolate ganache dessert with raspberries and the Mousse de Lucuma. Lucuma is a subtropical fruit found in the Andean valleys of Peru. It was not the most flavoursome of fruits but the crunchy shortbread and the citrus of the passion fruit gel coating ended our meal on a pleasant note.
The Price: It wasn’t a cheap meal but be left feeling full! Approximately £50 for 3 plates per person not including drinks.
The Verdict: Coya could be my new favourite restaurant and I’m upset to not have found it sooner! I loved the new flavours and the different methods of cooking involved in Peruvian cuisine. The presentation was fantastic and the service was exactly what I’d expect paying Mayfair prices. Disappointing that it isn’t Halal but with so much fish on the menu I didn’t particularly notice the lack of meat!
This restaurant is a MUST!! It is well located, near Green Park, park lane… Very professional welcome and perfectly presented food. Each dish comes with its own personality. Whilst the restaurant is situated in a lower ground floor, there are a lot of windows at the front and a roof light at the rear, so there is plenty of natural light. The only think is; usually packed and very noisy.
To start with, we tried both the Quinoa and Corn salads, which were brilliant. What is particularly remarkable at Coya are the “Arroz Nikkei” (seabass with rice), and the “Patatas Bravas a la Peruna”. These dishes are totally unique to restaurants in London and have the perfect amounts of flavour and spice, perfect for a picky eater such as myself.
For entertainment, there is almost always live music, which creates a buzzing atmosphere. The ambience is casual enough so that it is perfect for any occasion, from family dinners, to dinner with friends and even a romantic date.
Overall, Coya is fantastic restaurant, with phenomenal food and a brilliant atmosphere. Although it is quite expensive (especially with a nice bottle of wine), it is definitely worth the splurge for a great night out!
If possible, try the Members Lounge upstairs for a cosier, more intimate atmosphere.
Our dinner at Coya was superbly awesome! I’ll be honest, I went expecting it to be a bit over-hyped, possible pretentious and terribly expensive. It is rather reminiscent of dining at Nobu or Zuma. But despite the high price tag, Coya scored well by showcasing good quality ingredients, beautiful creative plates of food and the right atmosphere and service to ensure you’re having the best possible dining experience.
You enter one of the townhouses on Picadilly opposite Green Park, walk down the stairs into a cavernous basement which holds a huge dining space. To be honest, it didn't start on a good note as we ended up sitting next to a couple who were talking incredibly loudly. I started feeling intensely cranky about the whole situation while my friend valiantly tried to keep up the conversation but it was of no avail – we couldn't beat that decibel level and fell silent. The thought of being forced to listen to this non-stop flow of inane conversation for the rest of the night freaked me out and as politely as I could, with desperate begging eyes, I asked the waitress if we could move. And thankfully she understood and moved us to another table. So 10 points to Coya just for that single act of kindness.
Once we moved, I perked up and we started the perusing the menu intently. Quite a lot of foreign exotic sounding dishes but that heightens the excitement as you not sure what you’re going to get. We started with Crocantes, the Peruvian version of guacamole and chips except here the avocado was a smooth and silky delight and instead of taco chips, puffy prawn crackers and corn chips were served. Utterly more-ish, we couldn't get enough of it and had to order it again!
We then had the sea bass Ceviche called Lubina Clasico which was fantastic – diced cubes of raw fish marinated in lime with red onions, corn and sweet potato. The flavour combination was simply amazing - fresh tangy lime with the crunch of onions invigorating your taste buds. We also had the Atun Nikkei - yellow fin tuna Tiraditos which is also raw fish but sliced thinly instead like a carpaccio and served without onion but with chilli. Again, totally incredible, the ruby red tuna lifted by fresh chilli salsa and lime.
We chose the grilled prawns which sadly were not par with ceviche and tiraditos. A bit of a damper but then came the grilled marinated chicken wings, which blew us away. Succulent chicken wings, slightly crispy on the outside with tender juicy flesh inside, covered with a gorgeous tamarind glaze. Another must order dish.
We ended the meal with grilled lamb chops with crushed aubergines which was good but I think a bit over cooked and rather forgettable. Oh and we also had some Patatas Bravas – crispy potatoes drizzled with spicy tomato and huancaina sauce which was a rather guilty pleasure.
The bill came up to 50£ per person which includes two fabulous Pisco Sours – one of my favourite cocktails. A frothy drink with Pisco (grape brandy), lime , sugar and egg whites which you must try if you go. We were quite careful in ordering and I could totally see a situation where if you’re a bigger group, the bill at the end of the night could be quite sky-high!
Both of us unanimously agreed we would be returning. There are some really stunning plates of food served at Coya and I want to try more of their menu. It’s the perfect place to go if you’re looking to celebrate a birthday with a small group of friends or treat yourself and a special someone to a lovely meal Peruvian style!
Amazing food ! Brilliant atmosphere& superb service! A memorable dining experience which we will remember for a long time!
What a fun night! This place is still as popular as when it opened, over a year ago, and I can see why. They've got it quite right here, plenty of dimly lit, gleaming space, LOVE that bar and the copper kitchen, sexy tasty cocktails, sharing dishes, the perfect blends of sweet, spice and something different. From the starters - get a couple of plates of each, the ceviche, tiraditos and the skewers - my favourite, the yellow tail sashimi, and the grilled prawn skewers. For mains we had the duck, the lamb chops and a surprisingly spicy salmon. The lamb chops were off the charts! Skipped dessert, for another padrino - jw black, apricot brandy and orange peel...mmm. Service was quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and...just the other side of friendly, which I really don't mind. They WILL hustle you out in 2 hours, but they're upfront about it...and after 5 years in London, I'm just used to it I guess! This is not a cheap night out, but it is a fun one! For the best Peruvian in London though, my vote goes to Lima.
What I love most about living in London is exploring the vibrant cultures and cuisines from around the world. The culinary scene over here is bustling – there are always new flavours to explore and of course, the old favourites that are practically institutions for some of us!
We had some friends in town from India this weekend and decided to try out Coya, a trendy new Peruvian-Japanese restaurant in Mayfair. Peru is home to a very significant immigrant Japanese community and we were all very eager to explore the unique fusion cuisine.
We started our night with some cocktails at the Pisco Bar at Coya. The bar has an excellent selection of cocktails on offer including Pisco Sour, a traditional Peruvian cocktail made with Pisco (grape based liquor), lime juice, syrup and egg white. Our drinks were fantastic and certainly whet the appetite for more!
Coya BarI expected a lot of fish and meat at this meal and I wasn’t wrong. Coya has 3 open kitchens in the main dining area – a Ceviche Bar, an Open Charcoal Grill and the Central Kitchen. One can see the busy chefs preparing the food, all adding to the wonderful ambience at the restaurant. The menu was unusual and interesting. We were greedy and very confused! We got by with a little help from our pushy server and what followed was an onslaught of wonderful flavours.
Favourites included the Atunchifa Ceviche (yellowfin tuna, soy, sesame seeds), the Pez Limon Tiradito (yellowtail, green chilli and radish sashimi), Res Anticuchos (marinated beef) and the gorgeous Chuletas de Borrego (lamb chops with crushed aubergines). Special mention also to the delicious quinoa salad with coriander, mint and pomegranate – I will definitely be attempting this at home soon!! The desserts were amazing too, especially the Chocolate Fortunato Fondant with roasted white chocolate ice cream – WOW!
Coya was pricey but without any doubt, a memorable and divine dining experience. Highly recommended for a night out with your foodie friends!!!
Good ambience. Good variety in dishes. Good service. Desserts awesome!!!
great service and amazing food. Loved everything about this restaurant.
This is one of my favourite restaurants. Great drinks (try the pisco!) and even better food. Love the atmosphere.
Coya is nice both if you want to go out for one drink only or a full evening w dinner and drinks. Good looking people and the best Peruvian food I have ever tried! Highly recommend this place.
A gem in Mayfair. The restaurant is walking distance from Green Park and easy to find. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS, especially the fish. The starters look small but are enough to prepare your stomach for the main.
I will say the food is a mix of Peruvian /Mexican food, but in a fancy way. It's a bit pricy but worth it for the service, food, and atmosphere you are getting. During lunchtime, expect more business lunch meetings to see around.
Excellent food, one of the best restaurants in London. Atmosphere was great with music, with a really good service. Our expectations were high and the reality was even better. This restaurant never disappoints. It’s on the pricey side, but the quality of the dishes justifies every penny. I highly recommend the tasting menu !
Also thanks to the staff for making my brother’s birthday celebration so special.
Decent food but expensive for what it is. Between us all we ordered a good number of options from the menu, most of which were enjoyable. The average price was £125+ per person and the food couldn't justify the value.
The service was great and atmosphere were nice.
Lovely setting, tasty food and excellent service from Sandro who took care to note our food allergens and discussed suitable alternatives with the chef (we are vegan). We went for our 20th wedding anniversary and received complimentary champagne and a sorbet. Would highly recommend and would gladly return. A couple more vegan options would draw us back sooner.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent service. Waitresses were very welcoming this has been also shared with the Manager presence that he took a minute to present himself. The atmosphere at Coya Mayfair is very suggestive and professional.
The food was very tasty and well-presented.
We got the set menu, you get a lot of food so good value for money. The fish based dishes and ceviche were absolutely delicious, definitely the star of the show. For me the meats fell short, they lacked flavour and weren’t as good as the fish. Drinks and dessert were okay. Service was amazing, all the staff members were so helpful and knowledgeable. Nice chill ambience and vibes. Probably wouldn’t come again but definitely worth a try.
One of our best experiences! The food the atmosphere everything amazing! The waiters and the somelier super helpful and very polite! Great place!
Incredible! Peruvian perfection. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, hot and fast. The menu is a la cart, and every item deserves to be the star of its own show. I wish we could have ordered the entire menu.
Absolutely outstanding from start to finish.
Ambiance, food, service and energy, COYA has it all.
We decided to do the tasting menu, because there was just so much to choose from, it simply made sense.
Every dish was perfectly executed. There wasnt a single dish that we were unhappy with in any way.
Great for a special occasion or simply to enjoy life and have a great meal.
We went there to celebrate our 15th year anniversary. Enjoyed the vibe. Service was great and you are really taken care of. The only thing that would have left a special & different touch was that, like many other restaurants, they could have offered our dessert complimentary for the occassion of our anniversary or even offered a special desert for occassions on the house. That would have made u feel happy. Its like someone gifting you on your birthday! Previous day we were at another restaurant and they offered us small cake bites with a message on the plate, although we ordered dessert ourselves too. At Coya we did get the message on the order we made, but really that was it. Paying £ 285 for 2, wouldn't really bother the management to add those little touches.
We had the degustation menu. Wow. This is amazing good food. The starters, ceviches are all exceptional. The seabass risotto is the best. Services is super good. Lots of attentive and friendly personnel. You don't see that everywhere. Wonderfull evening worth the money.
A standout restaurant for South American food in London. Chicken skewers were not that great but everything else was very good.
A nice place for a Peruvian dinner at Mayfair. We had a dinner for 2 for about 250 after tip and without any cocktails. The service was a little bit odd - no one explained us about the dishes, the music was too loud. The food was fantastic but I'm not sure it's a good value for money place.
In the throbbing heart of London, hidden away, is a fantastical dining den by the name of Coya. This underground gem is not just a restaurant; it's a transportive experience, whisking its patrons to a realm of epicurean delight, nestled in the chicest of subterranean settings.
Stepping into Coya is akin to diving into the pages of a fantastical novel. The mood-lit cavernous interior, resounding with live DJ beats, could easily be mistaken for an enchanted grotto, the palpable air of refinement clashing delightfully with our casual attire.
The opening act, the croquette, was a symphony of smoke, softness, and crispness, all harmoniously blended by a spellbinding sauce. The guacamole, a spectacle conjured tableside from a halved avocado, was a visual feast, despite the sturdy corn tortillas challenging the more faint-hearted among us.
Their smoked salmon and sriracha taco swept in like a coastal breeze, fresh and invigorating. The chicken chargrilled skewers, meanwhile, were a comforting and familiar melody, playing the sweet and smoky notes in perfect cadence.
Next, the sea bass ceviches delivered a shocking twist of tangy sweetness, softness, and crunch that left us questioning our culinary reality. Not to be outdone, the stone bass and truffle ceviches broadened our sensory horizon further, fusing the earthy truffle with an invigorating citrus.
The yellowtail green chilli ceviche, with its pristine tuna and herb-infused sauce, provided a well-executed segue to the pièce de résistance—the Chilean sea bass. Swimming in tantalising Amarillo, this dish was a star, twinkling with divine flavours.
The corn-fed baby chicken was a narrative of juicy tenderness, while the grand finale—the Churros and the three types of milk cake—closed the curtain on a stunning performance. Particularly, the milk cake was the chef-d'oeuvre, a crescendo of sublime sweetness.
In all, Coya is a fantasy of flavours and an enchanting subterranean spectacle deserving a perfect score of 5/5. Just remember, punctuality is a virtue in this realm, lest you be announced as "the no shows for 8pm"!
Great place in town for a good night out. Exactly what you need in London. Very nice and friendly staff. The Coya managers are really nice and they have a great sense of hospitality. The door person is very nice and polite. I can freely say 10/10.
Place is very beautiful and food was amazing, we had good time, the manager was very kind and came by our table we had a nice chat he’s a lovely guy, he was making sure we have a good time and all our needs are meet. They had a very good Dj who was banging. I’ll recommend the place to my friends and defo i’ll come back soon
The food was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant is beautiful. Would totally recommend it!
Dined here for my birthday dinner with friends; utter perfection!
The food is a range of small plates. Between the three of us, we ate 2 starters, 3/4 mains & 3 desserts. The cocktails were also expertly blended and we couldn’t stop ordering more.
The service is top tier. Escorted to your seat (which has a pull out space to place your bag), orders are delivered in a timely manner, advice is in hand for recommendations on the menu (which was spot on).
The decor is unreal, right from the entrance, through the private members’ area, main restaurant and even in the loos.
P.S. you’re given the cutest box of truffle chocolates when you leave.
This place was just phenomenal. Every dish exceeding my expectations. It's hard to find a place like this where I live.
