Well, Chinese food cravings were well served!
No disappointment of any kind. Loved the food and everything else.
It's one of those fancy places with a turning table top. Don't pass the food, slide it. 👀👌🏼

The dumplings were too nice!
The Lemongrass chicken had actual lemongrass and was beautiful. 🔥😭

The soup was soul food.

The Panfried chicken noodles were out of the world. The beans added to them took the dish to another level. ❤️

Service was polite and prompt.

The owner was a very kind gentleman, with wise words and a style that befits his profile. You can find him sitting at the bar, blending in with the ambience and adding more class to it.

Great food and service! Had chicken with lemon grass which was especially nice. Good ambience too. Friendly and extremely efficient staff. Recommended after a visit to the museum's in the area!

It was pretty busy at 6.30 PM on Friday night but still managed to secure a table for two without prior booking. Service was professional, polite and quick. They offered to put our coats and umbrellas away in the cloak room. Interior was nice with Chinese family restaurant atmosphere, plenty round tables and seats.

Ordered pan fried chicken and chives dumplings with vinegar dip as starter. Dumpling fillings were nice, the skin was a bit thick and dry. Had spicy lamb with lemongrass as main. Portion was on the small side. Lamb was done beautifully, tender and nicely seasoned, mixed with fresh chili pepper and onion springs. Recommended.

Have been going back to Good earth for some good wholesome Chinese in London.

Place is quite busy for both lunch & dinner per my experience, so try and book a table in advance.

The dim sums are a must order. So is the lettuce wrap chicken and lamb skewers for appetizers. For mains everything is quite good (chicken, prawns, lamb).

Definitely on my repeat list whenever I'm in London

This restaurant is beautiful fine dining. Veg&egg fried rice both are very good. The dim sums are soft. Beautiful ambience. Sizzling chicken in black bean is a must try. Tofu is also worth it.

We have been on the search for a great Chinese restaurant with great ambience & The Good Earth delivers! Such a gem.

We were a group of 6 and comfortably seated downstairs where we were attended too at all times. Dishes that were definitely noteworthy was the Wasabi prawns & the aromatic crispy duck pancakes. Everything we ordered was amazing & I get the feel that it's a place you can't order wrongly at.

Portion sizes aren't too big like most Chinese restaurants, but quality is definitely not lacking.

Prince Gastronome. Out of the good rain and into a good restaurant. We badly needed another good moment to make this a good day. The Good Earth was classed as a Chinese restaurant, but it felt more Thai when reading the menu. After some reflection, I believed the confusion came about from regional divergence...and Canadian ignorance. This was certainly no Chinese restaurant as you'd find in Prince George; not a single dish had the words "mein", "suey", "foo", or "wok". I keyword searched the menu from their website. Nope, not a one.

The location was modestly-sized but considerably upmarket. There was a coat-check, which was timely considering Mom and I had been marinating in London rain for the past hour. We were escorted to our table and offered free water. The menu was one of the best I had seen. I refer to the menu itself, not the food. It was a center-divided heavy card carte du jour listing a humble collection of Asian-inspired dishes with few to no descriptions. The offerings were all extremely tempting.

Crispy Shanghai Won Ton.
Grilled Chicken Dumplings.
Rainbow Scallops on Skewers.

How can you not want to try all of that? And those were just the starters.

I opened my experience with satay chicken on skewers with peanut sauce, a dish so good, I devoured it before taking a photo. As for the mains, my mother ordered lemon chicken with pan fried noodles & bean sprouts. I followed up the chicken with sliced beef with black beans (pan fried with chilies along with green and red peppers). I also added in steamed rice, which came in a bamboo rice cooker. That's presentation, something I'll be forced to replicate at home. That's four plates to glean from. As expected, my mother took it all in with a glass of wine, while I kept it sober with a plain coke.

The Good Earth would easily fall into the top ten best restaurants I had ever been to in my life...if I was past my sunset years, staring across my bed to the monolith waiting for my last breath to escape me. I can't make that assumption yet. I know that like many of the restaurants I had been to on this trip, if The Good Earth was sitting between a Tim Hortons and a Canadian Tire, it would be a monthly tradition for me. It could destroy most of the competition here. Alas, it would probably ultimately fail in the face of ignorant consumers looking for their mess of Americanized Asian mediocrity. With every dish cooked to a level of perfection I have seldom seen, The Good Earth is not just a recommendation, but a mandatory stop if you ever decide to do some shopping down the street at Harrods.

As the meal concluded, we were handed hot moistened towels to clean our hands and face. That's a level of detail even Claridge's didn't provide. The final bill came to just under 40 quid, honestly a steal given the average pricing of our dinners of late. Although not the dim sum I was hoping to find on this trip (I would not have the chance), The Good Earth does provide an authentic portal to traditional Chinese cooking, something I'd been missing since I was in China myself nearly four years ago. Even without the moist towels, the service here was exquisite.

We retrieved our umbrellas and coats and fought through the rain back to the Knightsbridge station. We returned back at Watford by 9:00 and settled in. Tomorrow was going to be a big day. Dave was going to take us to Windsor and Dover. I discovered at the end that my memory card had become corrupted and nearly twenty minutes of video had been lost. This day really wanted to batter me...and it succeeded in so many ways. But at least we had The Good Earth.

Home Sweet Home. No matter what time I land at Heathrow, my first thought for dinner is always The Good Earth. Delicious food, comfortable surroundings, upscale-y tables(depending on your locale)...and just worth it.

Don't miss the fabulous, mouth-watering duck and scallion pancakes....I could eat them daily!

good earth is a michelin guide restaurant and it is quite good i really like the peking duck at this restaurant it was cooked to perfection and had a nice almost smokey flavour to it. the other dishes were also very nice they had the right amount of spice and were perfectly seasoned, the soups on the other hand were average and i did not enjoy them as much as the duck or the entree dishes.

little slow though, the restaurant is situated in a lovely location it is right in the centre of knightsbridge a short walk from harrods. the interiors are done up quite well and have a very nice oriental touch to them

the ambiance is not that great though the restaurant is done up quite well, i would recommend this restaurant to all people whether they are going for a formal meeting or a casual family lunch. this restaurant is a little heavy on the pocket so just keep that in mind before making your reservation.

I Recently visited The Good Earth in London after walking past it for years, and it did not disappoint! The Chinese food was very tasty, and it tasted just like home cooking. We dined there in September and it was very quiet, which might have been because of the time of year. The service was top-notch, and the waiters were very nice and attentive. I highly recommend The Good Earth if you are in the mood for Asian food, especially if you're craving homemade Chinese dishes.

Discovering Good Earth Restaurant (Brompton Road) a decade ago on a rainy day was a stroke of luck that I've never regretted. Over the years, it has remained a consistent haven for exceptional dining experiences. The food is consistently perfect, a testament to the chefs' skill and dedication. What truly sets this place apart is the warm and welcoming staff. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with genuine smiles. The efficiency is remarkable; once you've placed your order, the food arrives promptly, piping hot and delicious. Good Earth team understands the essence of hospitality. They know how to make you not just satisfied but genuinely happy. It's more than a restaurant; it's a place where the art of dining is perfected. Ten years later, and it's still my go-to spot, a testament to the enduring quality and charm of this remarkable establishment. Thanks to all the team from my heart! PS: Try their Sizzling Beef or Lamb!

The food is one of the best I have eaten in Chinese restaurants here in the UK. The prices, however, are steep. Try their veg fried rice and meat skewers, absolutely delicious. Ideal location if visiting the museum or Harrods.

I've come here several times already, the first time on my 18th birthday two decades ago. The food is excellent. Really high level of cuisine but still affordable. (Maybe there could be a bit more sauce relative to the amount of rice served.) The ginger ice cream was bombastic! You should try it!

Great food, service and atmosphere. I got the spring rolls, aromatic duck, beef in XO sauce, and the mango pudding. None disappointed - all very nice, perfectly cooked and quality ingredients. Waiters were also very attentive and polite. The only thing that would stop me from coming back regularly is that I felt it was slightly on the expensive side, but I would come back on occasion for sure.

6 stars. The Good Earth was our go to food delivery when they were still available in East London. Honestly a hidden gem (not that much hidden anymore) if you love Asian food. Their vegetarian chicken is heaven.

Well this is just the place to visit after a good walk around Harrods. Of course there are dozens if not hundreds of places to eat in and around Knightsbridge but I do enjoy a great Chinese restaurant when I find one. The food was stellar, a great wide selection and very authentic. Service was top notch and hospitality was wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Again, food was just sublime, no issues whatsoever and didn't take too long. It was very busy so it's certainly worth booking a table ahead of time. The hot and sour soup and the sweet and sour prawns were definitely the highlight of the meal. Loved all the food, wish I had ordered more! Great sombre ambience. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

the best menu here was aubergine stirfried with dry shrimps. mapo tofu was alright, beef with thai basil was also okay but think it is slightly overpriced for quality.

Ok STOP…. Look no further🤣. This IS the spot for Chinese food. Service is amazing. Staff were really accommodating and gave us a table for 8 even though we were only 4. Thats because they did not have any other space upstairs and my mum could not walk downstairs where our table was allocated. Great staff AMAZING FOOD. Try the tangerine chicken guys, SERIOUSLY

I’ve been both branches in London and both great. On this occasion, they did not fail to deliver as they were very patient as we were a big table and it took us almost two hours to order due to the rest of the table arriving later. The service is very friendly and make us feel very welcome. Highly recommend.
