Great "secret" bar - entrance through a big black door with a gold knob at the side of the Marriot Hotel in Mayfair. Extensive list of cocktails broken down into different sections - very tough to make a choice!!! All between £12-14. I had one with 4 different rums in! Waiters are very attentive and explain things well. You also receive a small shot of Caribbean rum on arrival. The venue itself it nice without being too flash or too dark. Recommend.
Luggage Room cocktails are steeped in tradition, yet many come with a welcome twists and touches of personality; on a recent visit, a typical Sweet Manhattan was just as warmly-received as a slightly more left-field and tart Baron Andre d’Erlanger Martini, made with grapefruit bitters and that under-used ingredient called Absinthe, served with the patron’s choice of Ketel One or Tanqueray.

"The Time Traveller's Ball", basically, a giant party with plenty of food, drinks and entertainment with a time travelling theme, encouraged visitors to dress up in fancy dress outfits.
A secret door with almost invisible writing to the right of the Marriott and you're in a plush but restrained bar. We're here with a large group, the plan to have a few cocktails before a more debaucherous night on the town.
On arrival, everyone is offered a little welcome drink - a lovely touch if not for their failure to understand that 2 members of the party couldn't have alcohol. The ladies in question first tried subtly saying no alcohol please, then again, then just gave up and the rest of us shared the little thimbles of welcome drinks. And when the staff finally did realise that 2 members of the party weren't drinking alcohol, no offer of anything else was forthcoming - not even a water!
The drinks menu is extensive and incredibly difficult to narrow down. Although it took me 10 minutes to decide, I suspect it probably wouldn't have made much difference as all the different cocktails that everyone ordered were absolutely fantastic. Which makes it even more of a shame that the service was so poor. The two pregnant ladies in our group were told that they didn't really do any non-alcoholic cocktails and they could have a juice or ginger ale and that was about all they had - I find that a little bit hard to accept, they seemed to have the ingredients for just about everything under the sun, they could have managed to rustle up something a bit more interesting surely!
And that's what takes their rating down from a 5 to a 3.5! Lovely lovely lovely drinks, but poor attitude from the staff who were less than impressed.
A ‘knock knock’ at a non-descript door to the left of the main entrance of the Grosvenor Square Marriott will afford you access to an old luggage room, now the Luggage Room bar, a refreshingly different hotel watering hole that joins an ever-increasing and distinguished list of so-called ‘secret bars’ in London, a list that includes Bodega Negra, hidden behind a porn shop in Soho, Bart’s Bar, located ‘somewhere on Sloane Avenue’ in Kensington and my personal favourite, The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town, concealed within a fridge in the City.
Not much makes these bars secret, apart from an extra hurdle or two to get in through the door, but there is always something clandestine and cliquey about grabbing an unsuspecting co-drinker (Valentines daters take note), sidling up to an obscure door/porn-store/fridge and acting all casual-like, like;
“…yeah, just a place I tend to fall into occasionally”
Stepping across the threshold at the Luggage Room will immerse the visitor in a contemporary take on the speakeasy; the underground bars of the Prohibition Era, frequented by the rich and powerful of the Roaring Twenties. The airs and graces of the black door briskly give way to genuine class and glamour, with sturdy leather chairs surrounding chunky polished tables of intricate design, whilst attentive and sleek waiting staff weave around it all, to the tune of swinging jazz.
The drinks – delivered promptly and accompanied by the ubiquitous trio of bar snacks – are served atop napkins embossed with gold lettering, glittering under conspicuously dimmed lights, muted to the extent that one leans into the menu – justifiably so – as attention must be paid. The Airmail is given an interesting twist, the honey, lime juice and Appletons rum delivered with the additional affluence of Champagne. A flight of rum punch demonstrated that the bar can deliver on the sweet side of the spectrum as well, but the feeling around the table was that whereas the cocktails were tailored and idiosyncratic, the one distinguishing feature was that they were all “very, very strong”
With prices of the average cocktail starting at around £twelve, the Luggage Room is likely to forever remain a few steps but a million miles away from Oxford Street, but with character delvered in equally generous measure to the spirits in its expertly created drinks, the only thing missing from this voguish speakeasy is Al Capone himself.

My friends and I had a lovely night here. Easy to talk. Really love the cocktails here, so many options. Would like to go back soon :)
Tried out the Luggage Room after a conference nearby - looks like they are having some building work done outside, we tried the entrance but wasn't open so went in via the hotel entrance. Its not a massive area and when you go in it sort of goes round in an L shape with the bar to your left and then seating along the side and round the corner (with a raised area at end).
Staff were really good at sending out nibbles, and collecting glasses etc. Drinks were good - ones I had were not the best I have ever had, but still nice. As it is a small area it can be a little tight moving around if busy, and the noise can get pretty loud. I liked it and glad I visited but not to the point that I must go again tomorrow or anything (although if someone else is paying... 😉 )
Discreet bar tucked away in the bowels of the Marriott.
1920's theme, centered around a substantial wooden bar, dimly lit and beautifully decorated in the style of the period.
We only stopped for one drink due to other commitments but the cocktails we chose were very pleasant. Certainly go back for a second and maybe a third another time.
Really good selection of unusual cocktails. Nice touch having to knock to be let in (you can go through the hotel but it's not as much fun). Welcome drink on arrival was nice.
We had an excellent experience at the Luggage Room, with knowledgeable staff and top notch drinks! We entered the establishment with high expectations based on previous reviews and based pn the fact the my girlfriend and I run a restaurant with a bar pf our own- the drinks did not disappoint. Well balanced drinks with clear taste profiles and special blends make this the excellent destination for post-restaurant drinks tp finish off the evening. Unfortunately the main door was closed to the bar, and as a result we had to enter through the hotel entrance, but the overall vibe of this speakeasy bar was intimate and relaxed allowing for soft and good private conversations. The bar is classic in its design with a lot of wood and a stone counter giving off a relaxed and high-end impression upon the overall experience. Drinks are priced on the higher end- but absolutely meet expectations with hand carved ice, great bartending techniques and fine craftsmanship of tje cocktails. The only thing missing to add to this experience would be a better presentation of the drinks- but that would just be a cherry on the top. Payed £170 for 8 drinks 👌
Really like the vibe…great cocktails…chilled atmosphere.
Amazing cocktails, amazing team, will be back for sure!
Update: been there again, drinks are still amazing and staff as well!
An amazing classy location with very nice staff, who can mix tasty drinks for you. The atmosphere was awesome. We say thank you!
Lovely location for a romantic date night. Really helpful and attentive bartenders who know their stuff and can make up classic cocktails off the menu. Reasonable prices for central London, also.
From the location and being attached to a hotel, you might assume that it's like a clinical hotel bar. From my visit I don't think that's the case. It's nicely tucked away and has a cosy feel to it.
Very lovely bar team who really looked after us on our wedding anniversary, thank you! Only wish we could have stayed longer and had more cocktails (but knew we'd need to be up early for parenting duties!). Will be back and recommend to others.
Fantastic cocktails, super friendly staff and a lovely comfortable setting. Complimentary nuts are very addictive! Huge thanks to the team, we will be back soon!
Stunning, STUNNING bar. really did enjoy it - service was second to none and you can not fault the quality of the cocktails.
Nice cozy place below the hotel. Many cocktails to try from and the music is lounge and not loud. Comfy leather seats.
Very quiet, with 1920s decor, fantastic cocktails and friendly knowledgeable staff.
This is a lovely bar just off Oxford Street, near Bond Street.
Great choice of cocktails to pick from. The staff were lovely and we didn't feel at all rushed.
Restrooms feel like a bit of a trek as they are in the hotel area. It isn't an issue just a shock to the senses initally when you go from low lighting to bright hotel lobby lighting so you need to adjust quickly!
Lovely bar really happy helpful friendly team really would recommend for a late night drink. Well done guys and girls keep up the great work. Cheers
1st time I had been to The Luggage Room, it was a Friday evening and the venue was still quiet (got busier later on). My wife and I had 4 cocktails each, all were different and the menu was very quirky. The venue and atmosphere is very cool. Overall a fantastic place, the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the service was fantastic and most importantly the cocktails were all very tasty!
Fantastic small and elegant hidden bar within the Marriott hotel. Once through the unassuming black door you're whisked into a different, classier era and greeted by one of the wonderful hosts. We went on a Friday evening and it was brilliantly quiet - exactly what we were looking for to avoid the after work masses. Four cocktails each later, I was truly merry! The drinks are pricey but oh-so worth it.
Lovely cocktails, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere..
