Tried lots of things. The kitchen was open till midnight like Spain so we could have dinner late. Suitable for birthday dinner. Portions are not big as well as Spanish origins but tasteful! Around £ 30-35 pp with drinks.
We ordered the Patatas Bravas, chorizo lollipops, octopus, croquettes, sliders and a sangria each. The sliders were a little smaller than the price would have suggested but was very tasty, as with everything else, especially the potatoes - we were really pleasantly surprised and are looking forward to coming back again sometime!
Nice atmosphere. Service was great and food was delicious! Potatoes with aioli and marrowbones were delicious but predictable. Suckling pig was nicely done! One of the gems of London!
Delicious tapas! Delicious wine! Ambience of the restaurant is warm but casual enough.
We had a range of cured meat and chorizo and they were delicious! Also tried their tortilla, eggplant but what I was not impressed was the daily special of duck and beetroot. The duck was too rare for my liking. The waitress did ask if I was okay with duck undercooked and I thought I did, but now I know for sure I don't!
Recommend to book as it was busy on a week night!
I have a couple of friends who work in Farringdon and when we were deciding where to go for a long overdue catch up Ibérica was suggested. I had never been but had heard good things and my friend goes there pretty much every week and raves about it!. After a couple of glasses of prosecco at The Fence, a bar just minutes away, we walked over to Ibérica for dinner. It was a Thursday night and there was a lovely atmosphere in here, everyone was busy chatting away and drinking good wine, knowing the weekend was only hours away.
The interior and ambience certainly delivered a sense of class and fancy style. We ordered the selection of cured meats which looked and tasted excellent accompanied with some bread and manchego cheese. Would definitely go again.
Visited Iberica and had the most wonderful experience. I could not fault anything from the food to the service to the decor.
The decor of place is great only the pictures in the bathroom did raise some eyebrows!
Food was absolutely delicious, to start we had bread and a selection of hams which were divine.
We then had the omelette, tomato bread, potato bravas, padron peppers, coquettes and confit of cod. I did not like the cod but everyone else did so I guess personal taste. The coquettes were absolutely amazing and worth returning for alone. I could have eaten the whole plate.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and could not do more for you, particularly the manager although unfortunately I did not get his name.
All in all a great night and I have already booked a table there to return.
Traditional Spanish Food with a Twist in Farringdon: When I was contacted by Ibérica with a request to promote some of their Spanish recipes I rather unashamedly took advantage of the situation. Of course I’d be happy to publicise their recipe collection if I got to try some of the food first. Of course I HAVE been to Ibérica, but only to the Canary Wharf branch, and only for a quick sherry and tapas before a rather more formal dinner. Joined by Madeleine who writes ‘ KitchenJourneys ‘ we were charmed by the traditional decor, very different from the modernist setting in Canary Wharf. The Farringdon branch is the most recent Ibérica to open and we learnt that the fittings have largely been brought over from Spain. The effect is remarkable, timeless and essentially Spanish. Until I was contacted by Ibérica I hadn’t realised that the Group executive chef, Nacho Manzano has three Michelin stars to his name, the first two for Casa Marcial and the third for La Salgar in Spain. So, I
I really like the space here more than anything. Maybe whoever did the decor can come over and do my flat.
I've found a place in London which takes me right back to my favourite Hispanic city in the world. I've spent countless happy evenings in Madrid on tables which spill out onto pavements, sipping on Sangria and munching on Iberico ham whilst the Spanish sun gently drenches the evening in warmth. There's nothing quite like it; for Spaniards, food is more than just ingrained in culture, it's a way of life. I've tried Brindisa and loved it, but I think Iberica (this one is in Farringdon but there are branches in Marylebone and Canary Wharf) tops it.
Cavernous and rustic, the decor is very appealing, although on a Sunday lunch time it was practically empty which is somewhat worrying. No matter though, we took our seats and enjoyed the waiter's full attention.
The menu is excellent; it strikes the perfect balance between a comforting amount of familiar options (patatas bravas, croquetas, and a wide selection of Spanish hams and cheeses) and refreshingly original choices (chorizo lollipops, confit of suckling pig, pork loin burger). We ordered a mixed board to start, an introduction to the array of Spanish flavours on offer.
The hams hang proud at the front of the restaurant.
The deep fried chorizo lollipops were to die for and quite possibly my favourite dish of the meal.
The patatas bravas were generously draped in a gently spice sauce.
And the croquetas were the most 'melt-in-mouth smack-your-lips' balls of deliciousness you're likely to taste. Made with serrano ham, the flavour is simultaneously smoky and creamy.
We branched out a little with our next choice: the creamy black rice with squid, prawns and aioli sauce and we were rewarded for our adventurous decision. It may temporarily die you tongue a spooky shade of purple/black but as soon as you take one spoonful of this dish, that worry is the last thing on your mind.
And on to the star of the show, the seafood paella. Presented with grandure, in one huge frying pan, it certainly looks impressive and thankfully delivered on taste in equal measure.
No Spanish meal would be complete without this naughty little treat for pudding. Churros are world famous, and for me they send me whirling back to street sellers in Madrid. At Iberica, the chefs obviously know what they're doing and most probably grew up munching on churros before they could talk. In short, they are the Spanish version of doughnuts but that description hardly does them justice; irresistible sticks of fried pastry coated in sugar gets you a little closer.
Served with thick, melted chocolate, into which dipping is essential.
A little gem on the dessert menu which almost went unnoticed is the tarta de la abuela which involves a decadent mixture of chocolate, dulche de leche and a sprinkling of biscuit crumb on top. You'll be scraping that kilner jar for hours...
Our meal came out at a reasonable £25/head and we left feeling full, happy and wondering why anyone bothers to eat anything but tapas. A real find, I would highly recommend a visit.
Do you like the sharing and communal nature of tapas? Or do you prefer having one main dish to yourself which you can really get stuck into?
Deceptively large restaurant in Farringdon serving tapas, some with a modern twist. We were pleasantly surprised at how good some of the dishes are particularly the tortilla with sobrasada, the marinated anchovies and the croquettes. The wine list looks good although we didn’t get into it. The food leaves the kitchen very quickly. The service is quite busy at lunch naturally. The decor is quite striking and impressive including oversized paintings and the kind of bar I would lose hours against. I would come back!
This was the first meal I had in UK while on vacation and it was an enjoyable experience. The interior is well decorated with a nice ambiance.
The pulpo and the twice cooked lamb were my table’s favourites. The other dishes we ordered, such as, the croquettes and patatas bravas were much less notable.
Really delicious food and fabulous atmosphere. Great modern Spanish fusion. The aubergine dish and pear salad were both amazing. It was so busy and the wait team were under pressure but Marta (spelling?) our waitress was SO brilliant, it felt like she was doing the job of three people, literally a superwoman with an incredible knowledge of the wine.. which was also v delicious. So thank you Marta! We had a wonderful evening.
Decent restaurant, good menu, try the lamb, it’s really nice. Overall ok, has a bit of a pub feel to the place, makes for a nice change from regular restaurants.
Better than expected tapas, the nice and professional waitresses, the decor is nice and appropriate, Barcelona style. Tables are too close to each other. We paid 100 for 4 Tapas, one virgin Sangria, 2 glasses of white wine and 2 desert.
We were heading to a gig later in the evening, and wanted to have a pre-drink and some nibbles. So when we were passing by, decided to check out this place, as from outside it looked small but people kept coming out and back. It was pleasant surprise, as restaurant turned out to be spacious, nice decor and buzzing atmosphere. Staff was friendly and very efficient even they were extremely busy. All tapas were delicious and good choice of wine. Definitely place to come back!
Weekend in London, looking for a nice place to eat, and we came across this Spanish place. Walked in hoping they had a table free, they did. As its a tapas place you have all the usual dishes. We had the couple of the standard ones and also tempura hake and twice cooked lamb. Absolutely delicious food and wine, service was superb. If you like tapas then you have to give this place a go.
Im not familiar with Spanish cuisine but definitely coming here by myself was a mistake. The tapas are meant to be shared and talked over, since it was just me I ordered 3 for myself. The food was good but pricey (£8-19+) for a small plate to share. Good place to go and talk if you can afford it. I really liked the atmosphere too of the place.
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding experience my company had during our recent corporate event at Ibérica. From start to finish, our evening was filled with exceptional service, delectable cuisine, and an ambiance that left a lasting impression on all of us.
First and foremost, I must commend your team for their professionalism and attention to detail. The event planning process was seamless, and your staff worked tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of our event was tailored to our specific needs. From coordinating the menu to accommodating dietary restrictions, your team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and valued.
The culinary experience at Ibérica was nothing short of exquisite. The diverse menu options offered something for everyone, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every dish. Our guests raved about the paella, which was a true highlight of the evening, and the tapas selection was a delightful journey through Spanish flavors. The presentation of each dish was visually stunning and truly showcased the artistry of your kitchen.
The atmosphere at Ibérica was both elegant and inviting, providing the perfect backdrop for our corporate event. The tasteful decor, warm lighting, and comfortable seating created a relaxed yet sophisticated ambiance that fostered meaningful conversations and connections among our team members and clients.
What truly stood out was the impeccable service we received throughout the evening. Your staff was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. They made every guest feel special, which left a lasting impression on us all.
I also appreciate your flexibility and willingness to accommodate any last-minute changes that arose during our event. Your commitment to ensuring our satisfaction did not go unnoticed.
In summary, our corporate event at Ibérica exceeded our expectations in every way. It was a memorable evening filled with delicious food, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that encouraged camaraderie and networking. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ibérica to anyone looking to host a corporate event or dine in an exquisite setting.
Big big shout ot to Claudia and Marta - you were super star! Thank you!
Thank you again for making our corporate event a resounding success. We look forward to returning to Ibérica for future gatherings and meals.
I have been to this restaurant twice in a week. It is amazing, real Spanish food ( and I am from Spain) but the best about it are the staff. Gabriel who attended us tonight is very helpful and friendly. Tapas to recommend padron peppers, sobrasada and the croquettes. Also an excellent wine menu. Real atmosphere. 100% recommended
Visited for a work dinner with a group of 12. We were very well looked after with an attentive service and superb food. We had a mix of tapas dishes and everyone was delicious from the lamb to octopus and churos to flan.
We will be back. This has now become our new restaurant for Spanish Foods. The chicken paella is a must try
Highly recommended. The food, wine and service are excellent.
One of my favourite meals I’ve had in London! I would come back again and again for the artichoke which we ordered on a whim but ended up really enjoying! Every bite we took was divine and the wine was incredible too. UGH and the Churros!!!! Definitely returning
Much better than expected for a chain. Decor and atmosphere and service was great. Steak is a bit pricey and one dish (gamvas was cold) but altogether a great experience
