Had a lot of empty tables on Friday eve. I tried the nachos and special dish of peas empanadas. The empanadas were amazing. I also ordered tequila hot chocolate which was exactly what I expected. Will come again.

This one is tucked away on a quiet street so we happened to stumble upon it. The food of course is amazing. Wahaca is my favourite Mexican restaurant in London and the chicken taquitos are a must-have!

Loved it. Service is friendly. Prices are good for what you're getting.

The food is tasty. We had so many items of the menu. The best art the plantain tacos.

Cocktails are good. Wine could improve. Nothing to write home about.

Welcoming vibe, acceptable food and drinks, nice for friends to hang out. The burritos are good, but most cocktails are just too sweet and mild.

Good old honest Mexican burrito. Jerked chicken tastes great and for very reasonable price as well. It is usually quite busy but service is quite efficient. It's super filling. Will go again!

Wahaca serves tasty food at a decent price which means it is the kind of restaurant you can order a number of items and share across the table.

This makes Wahaca a good place to go for group meals or for casual gatherings.

The decor is attractive and original and adds to the fun ambiance of the restaurant. It really does feel like you've been transported into a Mexican marketplace serving stunning Mexican street food.

I have to say, Bravo! to Wahaca for what they do. It’s next to impossible to get the staple ingredients necessary for Mexican food in the UK, so they’ve done a fabulous job of incorporating the freshest of what is available to recreate a Mexican street market menu.

The black bean and cheese quesadilla - redolent with both cheddar and mozarella - was an oozey delight. We both agreed that the pocket of crisp toasted tortilla, filled with flavourful refried bean paste and an abundance of melting cheese, was better than anything we had on our trip to Mexico earlier this year!

Tasty food and well priced we ordered a number of items and picked away while drinking. The nachos are good with fresh salsa and guacamole.
The location is not short on places to eat as the whole street is restaurants but this place mid week was packed so a lot of people must agree. The decoration is unique and the toilets are a surprise!

I have been to this place quite a few times and i always love going there. It atmosphere is remarkable along with its open bar serving the awesome cocktails. A pure mexican grill and best for burrito lovers like me.
We were seated downstairs but we did take a trip upstairs to see the entire restaurant and its beauty. Their service is also very nice and i love their burritos.
Always have a good time there with friends and my stomach is always satisfied.

Ambiance: Great ambiance, the setting is nice. Very simple tables, and formed with unique decor and layout.

Service: Even considering how busy it was on this friday night, the service was still reasonably good, we were attended well and in a timely fashion.

Food/Drinks: The food here is amazing. They take typical mexican food, but they make it healthy and so flavourful (which is not an easy find in London). For a starter I loved the Chicken Tinga Tacos, so many amazing flavours that just explode in your mouth. And for my main I ordered the MSC Fish a la Pimienta, and it was delicious. Cooked so nicely with such amazing taste. The drinks here are also amazing, I recommend any of the mojitos.

Value: This part is my favourite part, for the quality of the food that you get, you really are not paying much at all. Great value!

Would I go back?: Yes, definitely so far the best Mexican food I've had in london. Love the food, and the value. Two thumbs up for Wahaca!

If you’re an American living in London, chances are you are going loco for good Mexican food. It’s no secret that London’s Mexican culinary scene isn’t bustin’ anyone’s piñatas.

And if you’re a gringo who previously lived in California, Texas or Florida (like me!), you REALLY know your burritos from your enchiladas. Verdad?!

So, when my friend invited me to Wahaca on 19-23 Charlotte Street W1T 1RL for her Feliz Cumpleanos drink, I was skeptical.
But, colourful building front like Wahacas in London, I figured they could probably handle my hot tamale.

The hostess sat Mr Sunny and I in an area of the ground floor called “The Cave.” Curious indeed.
Our server appeared about 10 minutes later. We found it pretty amusing that she made giant circles on our menu showing what we ordered. Maybe she thought we’d forget? ;-)
Our Fresh Tomato Salsa and Chips appeared fairly quickly. It was pretty comparable to what I’d expect in Florida at an authentically owned Mexican restaurant.
The rest of our selections came from the “Street Food” menu, which advises 2-3 plates per person. Our big mistake was not ordering enough. Mr. Sunny and I just picked two items each. Because this Mamacita likes to eat, that wasn’t smart. I could have easily eaten an additional round of food.

I have to say, Bravo! to Wahaca for what they do. It’s next to impossible to get the staple ingredients necessary for Mexican food in the UK, so they’ve done a fabulous job of incorporating the freshest of what is available to recreate a Mexican street market menu.
After paying our bill, we headed to the upstairs bar for my friend’s birthday drink. This is “Mezcalería” their cocktail bar which “serves a range of the world’s finest mezcals and cocktails which have been designed especially for the venue.”
The bar was PACKED the Friday night we went, and the wait for drinks was treacherous. Ay caramba! If they’re planning a big Cinco de Mayo fiesta, I hope that they have more bartenders and wait staff working.
I’d recommend Wahaca for those who just can’t live without Mexican cuisine. But, if you’re a die hard Mexican foodie, this is nach-yo cheese.
Wahaca on Charlotte Street also offers takeaway.

Date of Visit - 26/09/13 Lunch

This is the 3rd time i came here, we had a party of 10 and were seated upstairs. We had a great little area to ourselves. The decor and atmosphere is really cool and funky, including the massive bird cage chairs that hang from above.

Theres loads of choice on the menu, all the classic mexican food is covered. We had some salsa and guacamole, i'm not a fan of guac but this was really nice as was the salsa. For drinks i had a Virgin Mojito and also a Citrus Fizz (not as good) ,

For my main I ordered the grilled fish (3rd time i've had this) its nicely cooked and came with a nice side salad thingy. Its definitely not amazing, its above average which makes it "good" in my book. Lucky for me, the bill was taken care of my a very nice Client.

A great place to enjoy with friends. It is very light and open and always busy!

I usually go here with friends and we choose a selection from the menu and share around. I really like that it is called 'Market food'! The staff are always friendly and write down your order on your paper menu. The cocktails in here are amazing too!

Fab informal place to relax and eat with friends.

Wahaca is a very cool place to eat, with huge wicker chairs swinging from the ceiling on the upper floor bar area and your dishes served on square porcelain. If you are like me and don't know anything about Mexican cuisine it's a great place to visit to get acquainted. The menu is organised to allow you to pick and choose multiple dishes and try a great variety of things all at once. Everything was incredibly tasty. My favourite touch was that instead of matchbooks they give you small books of chilli seeds when you leave so you can grow your own plants. Cool is definitely the operative word with this place.

Wahaca is a favorite when it comes to Mexican food. They have a huge variety and hence there is something for everyone. We frequent the canary wharf wahaca but had gone to this one since they were starting with a new brunch menu. Unfortunately, it was the first day when they were offering both lunch and breakfast service and due to some confusion the breakfast menu was unavailable. The manager on duty duly apologized.

We had the mexican hot chocolate which is pure bliss - 200% pure chocolate heaven in a mug. A must have for all chocolate lovers and definitely deserves a special mention. We ordered a couple of dishes from the street food selection and the grilled chicken. Everything tasted as good as it usually does and we were quite satisfied despite having travelled the extra distance.

To our surprise, when we asked for the check, we were told that the meal was on the house! :)

Went for an early dinner here with some friends. The restaurant was pretty busy but we got a good table by the open windows so the view out onto Charlotte Street was good. Food was all good, ideal for sharing and the service efficient, all in all a pretty good place to go with friends

Amazing staff!! My waiter was so attentive and professional... knowledgeable... charming. He was from Bulgaria I think. The food was lovely... but I think they could put a LOT more fresh salad in thier burritos. At peak times you can wait a long time to be seated.

A solid choice for dinner right in the middle of Fitzrovia, on Charlotte Street. Reasonable prices for food and a bottle of wine. Service was swift and friendly. Tip: Try the sharing platter for two at £22, that provides about 5 or 6 tapas sized portions. The churros for dessert were delicious!

Worth-value mexican cuisine, with quick service and nice decor. With a lot of options in the area, this is not a choice to ignore at all. Specially recommended the duck croquettes and the blue tortilla platillo!

Love this branch of Wahaca! Started off with a cocktail in the ultra modern upstairs bar. Headed downstairs for a yummy dinner then back upstairs to end the night playing foosball and spinning in their bird cage seats. Would definitely recommend

Different types of tacos and all delicious! They are also very careful about allergies and make sure that sharing platters are separated for people with allergies. I ordered the veggie nachos, so good! And also had the churros with dark chocolate. The chocolate was a bit too dark for me... And I usually like dark chocolate. But nevertheless it was good! Although if you prefer more sweet than probably get the caramel instead.

As a mexican myself, I was very sure this chain was another texmex restaurant labeling itself as a Mexican restaurant. And even though, their menu has some unexpected dishes I have never seen in Mexico, the flavour is very authentic. I am very happy that this place celebrates Mexican cuisine the way they do it. Very well done, Wahaca.

Probably my least favourite of the London Wahaca branches, not helped by the difficult step up to the restaurant. It's a room downstairs and a bar upstairs. The food was ok but as we chose a quiet time some of the dishes didn't seem as good as other branches. The buttermilk chicken tacos were rather dry and lacklustre. Nothing wrong with the bar though and the rested margarita was superb.
