We booked a table for 5 and because of lack of space we were given a table for 4. The food was delicious, except the dessert chocolate and chia brownie.

Small plates that doesn’t fill you up. It’s light and refreshing using the best ingredients. Had the Scallop ceviche with pork broth, tuna ceviche, Maca lamb loin and aubergine jalea (fries). Would recommend this place for drink and a good night out with friends!

That was my 1st Peruvian restaurant, found by chance in the middle of nowhere (to me) as I was chasing another restaurant found on zomato. Well I can say I was happy not to find the other place as that was a real catch. Maybe not a filling dinner but surely a delicious one (ceviche) the drink had egg white in it, odd to me but still liked it. Service is great, ask for recommendations.

Delicious light food in an easy going relaxed atmosophere. The food could definetelly be improved but overall it was lovely first experience. I think the key winning point was ambience. Would go back.

It's not that I don't love blogging about restaurants - because I clearly do - it's just nice to sometimes put the camera down and just enjoy my food and the friends I'm with. That's not to say these restaurants don't make it on the 'Gram so I've rounded up my favourite restaurants featured on my Instagram this year, which didn't quite get their own post!Casita Andina, SohoWhat is it?

I have a weak spot for Peruvian cuisine; an almost surreal marriage between Japanese originality and Latin American flair. Casita Andina, housed in a beautiful townhouse in Soho is a laid back and colorful restaurant with maximum Japanese minimalism and just the right amount of Latin American energy you need; if it were anymore bustling you'd risk being unable to appreciate the colorful dishes ahead that are a treat to the eye before the palate. The menu acknowledges that you would want to try as many dishes as possible so all items are small 'tapa' style dishes. We started off with the avocado fritters; just the right crunchiness you aim for though wasn't fantastic. Then followed the colorful Cobia Tiradito; a subtle plate of black king fish with a cautiously delicious fruit-infused lime marinade. The Ceviche Casita, shown in the photograph came next; an amazing seabass in a bed of heavenly tigermilk marinade. The lamb sweetbreads were disappointing though; they tasted like lamb testicles and I can still swear they were. An Arab knows his sheep well, so when the waiter insisted it was lamb neck fillet, we decided to agree on not agreeing. The Tamal was very good though; I never had a corn dumpling before and absolutely loved it. Finally came the aji de gallina; chicken over a yellow sauce made from amarillo chillis. Was very good yet looked better than what it tasted. An overall nice experience and very good food, though nothing was overly memorable. I had a feeling the chef was too cautious though there is much room for experimentation with Peruvian. £40-£50 a person. Follow me on instagram @ londonarab_foodie

Found this restaurant when looking for a pre-theatre dinner. We enjoyed the selection of meals we chose, kind of tapas style as we shared them. Recommend at least 5 dishes between two, the meat dishes were larger than the other choices we found. Just bear in mind that the dishes do tend to be on the hot side (chilli hot, not temperature) which if you don't like, will probably mean you won't enjoy. Most dishes we chose had a bit of a kick. Limited selection of wines / beers but perfect pre-theatre choice.

Casita Andina is the newest offering from Martin Morales, who already has two Ceviche restaurants in London as well as the original Andina on Redchurch Street. Casita Andina is on Great Windmill Street in Soho and serves up Peruvian inspired sharing plates. I headed there with Lou to check it out and we loved most of what we tried. There's a ceviche plates, salads, nibbles and hot food. Being one of the hottest days of the year we bagged a table on the upstairs terrace and got stuck in, starting with excellent pisco sours. Food wise we ordered a couple of nibbles to munch on while we perused the menu - avocado fritters with panca chilli and anchovy salt were nuggets of deep fried avocado in the lightest of batters, doused in chilli and salt. Absolutely delicious. As were the cruditos - lightly pickled vegetables including baby carrots, asparagus and courgettes, on top of a wonderful broad bean puree. Such a tasty and healthy dish, I would order this just to have with drinks even if I wasn't eating there.

When I heard Martin Morales, the man who kickstarted the Peruvian food revolution in London, opened another Peruvian gem called Casita Andina in Soho, I knew I had to go. Martin is the brains behind Ceviche restaurants as well as the Michelin-recommended Andina in Shoreditch. Casita Andina is inpsired by ‘picanterias’ or traditional family-run restaurants usually found in the old homes of Andes locals. The cooking here is a homage to Cusco cuisine in the Andes and aims to celebrate fresh, nutritious Peruvian ingredients paired with sustainable British produce. The menu is a gold mine for gluten-free eating, so if you’re up for some healthy alternatives this Summer (what?) this place is perfect.

I’ve never been to Peru, but it’s been on my bucket list ever since watching Diarios de Motocicleta while studying for my A Level Spanish exams. The cinematographic scenes depicting Machu Picchu left a lasting impression, fuelling a desire to one day follow the Inca trail. Unsurprisingly, my wanderlust has since been supplemented by a foodie interest in covering Peru’s eclectic gastronomic trail too, which over the centuries has imbibed influences from all over (Spain to Japan), whilst preserving age-old traditions, such as those of ‘picanterias’ – the welcoming restaurants run within the houses of strong, matriarchal-type figures in the Andes.

It is this homely dining concept that Martin Morales (the chef widely credited with bringing authentic Peruvian cuisine to London), has sought to recreate in a quiet street in Soho…

Wow! If you consider yourself a foodie in any way you have to go here. The flavors are amazing and different in every dish. A group of five of us went here before the theater. We ordered everything the waitress recommend and she did not steer us wrong in the slightest. My favorites were the house ceviche and the lamb tapas. The pisco sours were also incredible. The food was delivered in a timely manner and we did not come close to missing our show.

Octopus was excellent! Really tender on the inside, slightly smokey flavour. The ceviche and pork belly were done well but weren't particularly impressive. Watermelon salad was refreshing on a hot summer's day. Overall good meal, but won't be my go-to peruvian place.

I have previously visited Casita Andina's sister restaurant, Ceviche which I was very impressed with. So I was interested to see how the would compare. We had the nine course sharing menu which in short was a fantastic mix of flavours, textures and very well balanced. Highlights were the pork belly bites, very addictive. Both the salmon and sea bass Ceviche which were fresh, generously portioned and a lovely mix of tart, sour and heat. The pisco sours also deserve a mention, my first time trying and certainly not my last. The restaurant itself was homely and full of art and photography celebrating Peruvian culture. The staff were great and introduced each dish well. Highly recommended.

Came here after a friend's recommendation and it was quite nice, however we did expect a little better. The waiter had mentioned the rib was really great, however it was kind of like pulled pork condensed into a rectangle with some a wine reduction sauce - it was tasty, but not that special and far too expensive for what you got. I liked the salad and the ceviches which were nice but I found the flavours a tad over-powering and a bit too citrusy for my liking.

We had a wonderful time at Casita Andina, our waitress was helpful and kind, the food was very interesting and we liked everything that we tried that night. We can't vouch for authenticity as it was our first time eating Peruvian food but we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Very nice food, friendly service, quick to get the food and generous portions. The pork bites were a highlight, with a sweet tangy sauce and crisp skin. Would definitely recommend to all.

Decent quality food, nicely presented, attentive service. Portion size quite small for the price. The flavours can be more interesting, limited menu.

Our party of three enjoyed everything we had here in a Saturday night. We had corn fritter and yellow fin tuna ceviche for starters; the ceviche was excellent, corn was okay. Our mains were definitely the highlights - grilled octopus, pork belly, and lamb - perfectly cooked and presented. We also enjoyed their desserts, especially the coconut flan.
