Really good food, just make sure you go with an appetite and you take good company to enjoy what this Italian hotspot. When in London this place is always a great idea
My favorite Italian restaurant in london. Great choice of Italian food. A lovely place to celebrate any special occasion. Try their Melanzane.
Great Italian food with amazing staff. Food was great as I had the veal Milanese with penne in the side. Also tried he burrata to start which was great as well
Excellent traditional Italian food at its best. The atmosphere was also great with manager and the head waiter singing while serving you. The food was delicious and I suggest the fried cheese for the starters and the Veal Milanese for the main.
Sale e Pepe offers a mediterannian warmth in the middle of London. Excellent Italian cuisine is served by very a friendly team. I would highly recommend for both casual lunch or fine dinning.
You think you know about Italian restaurants untill you discover the Knightsbridge gems which include Sale e Pepe indeed. Hidden in a back street you would not go there unless you have been told too.
Welcome to Italy! The staff, the product, the ambiance and even the guests!! i discovered the burata few years back in this restaurant and it was the best I had since.
Best Italian in London. Stumbled onto Sale e Pepe and went in thinking it would be stuffy but we were tired, wet and hungry after a day wandering London and were ready to relax and eat. The staff was very inviting and enjoyable and the food was great. Will be back next time in London.
Amazing. amazing. and amazing. great staff, fresh food, great crowd. i bring everyone here who is visiting to this place and all they can do is talk about how impressed they are. best italian in london.
Makes you feel like back in Italy. Good food & excellent lunch menus during week.
The waiters think you know Italian, or maybe they believe you've seen all the godfather movies. The maitre sings 84% of the time, so In case you don't like hearing him stay away. The food was satisfying by the way. And the service attentive. Overall a good experience
Cannot fault this lovely place, one of the best experiences of service I’ve had in London. Well worth visiting for a celebration or occasion but just as lovely for a regular visit if you value authentic Italian hospitality. My boyfriend and I had meat dishes but ordered the carbonara to take away. I would go back to try other pasta and fish dishes.
During my recent visit to Sale e Pepe in London, I was delighted by the overall experience. The restaurant offers a superb selection of Italian cuisine with a focus on simplicity and classic flavors. The menu captures the essence of traditional Italian home cooking, presenting dishes with a simple yet enticing presentation.
The intimate and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall charm. The host warmly welcomed us, and the servers were consistently cheerful and friendly, creating a welcoming environment.
Among the many delectable dishes I tried, the Melanzane alla Parmigiana truly stood out. This dish features oven-baked aubergines in a flavorful tomato sauce, complemented by the richness of melted mozzarella. It was a delight to savor this dish, especially when paired with a slice of bread and a drizzle of olive oil. I highly recommend indulging in this culinary masterpiece.
Overall, Sale e Pepe provides a memorable dining experience, showcasing delicious Italian cuisine in a cozy setting.
This place was crowded, Italian and had great pasta. It felt like a niche place that you expect from an Italian restaurant with a lot of noise and close movement. Pasta was incredible and the desserts were delicious. Meat was also very good but the pasta was way better. Appetizers were great. We had everything with truffle (that super increased the price) but was something special. Not sure we would do it again with the truffle as it made the final payment way overpriced for the restaurant. A lot of confusion as some of the wait staff didn’t speak English and we weren’t always sure who are server was. Still loved the pasta and was well worth it.
Great restaurant. The food is great, the cocktails are great & the service is great. The restaurant is a bit busy but it’s fine. Great Italian food with a real Italian team !
I’d rate this a 4.5/5! Great service, solid quality and a varied menu (but not too big)! I really enjoyed the pasta here, in particular, the carbonara. It was busy when we went but we made a reservation so getting seated wasn’t an issue. It’s quaint and very cozy, almost as if you’re sharing tables. I would recommend and would come back.
It is a soft 4, more like a 3.8 which is not bad, just keeping things into perspective. The location is superb, thus the high prices; you know where you are going, you don’t complaint about that.
The food was good. We ordered a cacio & pepe and a costinello grillato; the veal was better than the pasta, very soft and tasty, the pasta was ok, I liked the strong pepper, but my preference is for thiner pasta as it absorbs the flavor better.
The service was a bit over good, Santino is engaging, I like that personal touch in restaurants as you want an experience with food, not just somebody else cooking better that you.
The ambience is right and nice, music at the right volume as well as appropriate lighting.
The weird thing that moved me from a 4.2 to a 3.8 was that in the bill appears a “cover charge”; not sure if that is a new London “thing” as I am returning after over a decade, but better loose it (you can always increase prices 3% without having to disclose such that Ia am inadvertently coming into a club). But I went for the 4, because the limoncello is on the house: nice touch!
Anyway, if you are around Harrod’s, hungry, and craving Italian, Sale & Pepe is a safe place to come and Santino is the right person to guide you for what you need.
Great service, great quality food, and good selection menu - a little bit on the pricey side + there’s a cover charge + the tiramisu was disappointing = hence the 4/5 stars. But otherwise a good place to go for an authentic Italian meal in a nice place.
Fried Mozarella appetiser =5/5
beautifully crunchy in the outside and stringy chewy mozarella on the inside. Generous portion and comes with a tasty tomato mozarella sauce.
Crab Taglierni pasta = 5/5
Extremely delicious and tasty with a very generous portion that Included lots of succulent soft pieces of crab. A simple dish done very right using good ingredients
Seafood risotto = 4.5/5
As above, a simple dish done very well using good quality ingredients. I give it a 4.5 because there could have been slightly more of a variety with the seafood, there was a variety but it was mainly squid in the rice itself. Delicious though, generous portion.
Profiteroles = 4/5
Generous portion of 3 profiteroles drowned in chocolate sauce with a creamy filling. I felt the chocolate sauce could have been better I feel they used the standard one you’d find at Morrisons. But overall tasty
Tiramisu = 3/5
Quite disappointing, lacked that special taste, lacked that special anything really was fairly average or below average. Gets a 3 because it didn’t taste poor, and the size was good
Staff and service = 4/5
Overall very good, everyone was polite and friendly, we didn’t wait too long. Only issue is they barely served us our bottle of wine, we served it to ourselves most of the time.
Came round for a late lunch on Saturday! Staff was super friendly and we had the most amazing mussels cooked in white sauce!! Tiramisu was ON POINT - must order. They even served bread with their own olive oil which is always a plus. Would definitely come back. Be prepared to cover your ears if you decided to sit outdoor as a lot of luxury cars would fly by!
Visited from California. Found reviews on TripAdisor. Liked it so much the first time we went back again. Delightful staff. The food was delicious. Really made us feel welcome. Even the patrons were friendly and engaged in light conversation. Really loved it.
An amazing Italian cuisine located a stone throw away from Harrods. The seafood linguine is one of the best in town.
The service can be better as the waiters have to be more attentive or perhaps they might be short-handed due to the overwhelming demand.
The atmosphere can get a lil bit rowdy as the restaurant is small and the noise can be unbearable for some.
Attentive staff and delicious food in a cosy space. The chicken parm was indulgent and satisfying, loved the zucchini fries as well.
An absolutely wonderful restaurant, the food is magnificent especially the Dover sole, cooked to perfection. The waiters are extremely attentive and detailed in their explanation of the dishes and how they are prepared. I can’t fault this place, the ambience and all round an enjoyable night out.
Excellent evening had last night. Offering cosy vibes, excellent food and amazing service. We were well looked after by Santino and Elisa. Very impressed with their menu as there was a wide selection for me which I ordinarily struggle with being a gluten free pescatarian. Food portions are generous. Almost too generous! You definitely leave with a very full tummy :)
Great place for lunch. The manager is super, very polite. There is outdoor seating in the summer which is perfect for lunch or dinner. I’d recommend the Burrata Caprise, very fresh and filling. At lunchtime we were able to walk in without booking, but I’d recommend to book on the weekends.
Really good food, amazing service and excellent atmosphere. The waiter even tricked me into thinking that he’s spilled a cup of espresso on me!
Overall experience was great and would recommend.
