We stopped into The Footman on the hope of getting a bite to eat after a long, rainy day of touring. We were graciously greeted and given two seats at the window. We ordered the cider-battered cod which was served with excellent chips, lightly minted peas, tartare sauce and a very nice curry sauce. The batter was crispy and the fish was delicious. Beer and wine rounded out our delicious meal.

🚇Green Park 🍺 £6.50 Guinness ❤️ An intimate and welcoming pub. . The Footman is located on quiet Charles Street in the heart of Mayfair. Bustling Berkeley Square is just a short walk away. The nearest tube is Green Park. . This pub was established in 1759 and used to be called The Running Horse, it was frequented by the footmen who were in service to the households of Mayfair. This pub was rebuilt in the 1930’s. . The Footman is a close and intimate pub, the decor here is simple but elegant. There is a stylish servery clad in dark wood panelling with a lots of traditional brass fixtures and fittings. The seating is a mixture of poser tables and around the perimeter of the bar are comfy leather banquette’s. Upstairs is a dining room complete with leather booths. . The beer choice had a bit of something for everyone including three cask options. I was really indecisive and ended up ordering a Guinness, my pint was good and went down nicely. The food menu is upscale pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £22. . The pub was busy on this Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere here was great, there was a convivial buzz around the place and a good mix of clientele. I managed to find a seat and took a pew at one of the low level tables. I sat between a middle aged couple and a young couple to my right. The young couple were on a date and exchanging pleasantries and sharing a bowl of chips, it was the sweetest thing. The staff here are first class, the lady who served me was welcoming and very engaging. All this superb ambiance was accented by the low level funk and soulful soundtrack. . Mayfair is cosy classy pub central and @thefootmanw1 is one such pub. The vibe here is excellent and you are made to feel very welcome by the personable team running things. The simple and elegant surroundings makes it easy to settle in here. Another pub for your must visit list. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 14/01/23

Pristine looking restaurant that's almost too nice to be classified as a traditional pub. It does, however, have a nice bar with a good range of ales. There's an upstairs dining area which looks beautifully appointed. Beer prices were reasonable for the neighborhood.

Charming little pub with good food and exceptional service. Our waitress was a lady from Poland, unfortunately didn't catch her name, but was incredible and made the visit a really enjoyable experience. She was humorous, attentive and very helpful. The food wasn't too shabby either ...! A must if you're looking for traditional British pub grub!

A delightful small(ish) pub, close to Berkeley Square. Good beer, both cask and keg. The service was both pleasant and efficient. A great place for a beer if you are in the area. Although, as said the pub has a small footprint, don't be fooled, it is spread over three floors and everyone will fit in! Food is on offer Monday through Saturday. Certainly worth a visit.

Delicious food. We did not have reservations, but we’re there early, so got lucky. It has lots of charm and on a nice quiet street.

Been here many times when visiting London. One of our favorites in Mayfair. New owners acquired couple years back but preserved tradition of good food and friendly service. Upstairs there is fine dining. Downstairs a traditional pub with all favorite pub food.

Tuesday 24th August and life around The Footman is buzzing with friendly chatter, gentle laughter and that sweet sound of clicking glasses. Delightful bar staff that genuinely serve you with a genuine smile. The Footman show that they are happy to have you back and we are a little more than excited to be back. The low lights sets the calming atmosphere complimented by the chilled tunes caressing your emotions, all make for a top notch night with friends, colleagues and loved ones or just relax alone with your favourite tipple and reflect while soaking it all in You could do worse than The Footman but you couldn't do much better. Yorkshire puddings were fluffy and crisp, the roast beef was fine. Fish and chips were also done well.

Really lovely pub, cozy look and feel and delicious Sunday roast. Servers looked understaffed for the crowd but they were lovely when they were able to make the rounds.
