Easter, it’s that much-needed bank holiday after New Year’s and I like seeing the Easter Specials at restaurants. It was a friend’s birthday in late April and she chooses Opso for a morning brunch date. Opso is located in Marylebone in between Baker’s Street and Regent’s Park. Opso ΟΨΟ is an actual Greek word meaning morsels of food, delicacy. Two Michelin star chefs Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos helped developed the menu for Opso.
Opso is a brilliant Greek restaurant with modern takes on traditional dishes. The ideal setup is mostly to order different plates and share with the table. The lamb is unmissable, the different starter spreads as well, with lots of pita. Service has been always attentive and thoughtful.
Atmosphere is great either for a group/family or couple.
Will keep returning.
I did it again! Delicious feta Saganaki & the tastiest lamb Kleftiko I ever had from Opso ! Here you find Greece in London 💚 No words for such a gem in the middle of my favorite area in London , Marylebone High Street!
Nice place and fast service. Very tasty food at a very reasonable price. Doses até quite small so I would recommend getting a few diversified dishes and sharing! The only issue is that the restaurant is extremely noisy.
The word “opso” is derived from ancient Greek. It means delicate and delectable, with a touch of elegance. That being said, it’s also the very definition of this restaurant. Opso offers a fine dining experience incorporating the “small plates / tapas” concept. It specialises in classic Greek dishes with a modern twist. Additionally, Opso is also featured on the 2018 Michelin guide. All in all, from restaurant atmosphere to food, there couldn’t have been a more perfect word that reflects the concept and essence of this place.
I was at OPSO for a friend's birthday dinner. Despite it was a weekday, the room downstairs was really busy with another party next to us, which made it extremely noisy and the service slightly slow at the start (the only downside to my experience). We had the group menu, which consists of various many sharing platters. Everything was splendid and there was plenty of food for everyone. The delicious finger food varied from crispy fried cheese, great quality olives, hummus and other spreads to go with a tempting variety of homemade bread, to anything else in between. The highlights? The lovely feta & spinach tart and the lamb (oh, the lamb!). The chocolate birthday cake came just at the right time... just because there's always some room left for dessert!
Opso is a really nice little restaurant walking a fine line between traditional and modern. It balances warmth, funkiness, comfort and coolness in a unique way. With a good wine list and easy on the pocket, it's a great choice for a spot of lunch or dinner. I highly recommend the koulouri bread, roast beet salad, Lemon oregano chicken, pastitsio box and lamb shank yiouvetsi. Leave room for dessert and indulge in loukoumades!
Great to find an innovative Greek restaurant, they're usually very traditional and predictable. Highlight - Salmon burger.
Love the style of eating; small bites and various different tastes. We planned to get mains but all the small bites filled us instead. The desserts were too sweet in my opinion (ice cream sandwich and donuts). They have good wine that's affordable. Presentation of all the food was special (see pics) and the service was very good.
Ask for a table upstairs, it feels like a completely different (modern and vibey) restaurant compared to downstairs.
Amazing restaurant and amazing food!
We went on a Saturday night to have some Greek food. You can share many tapas if you are in a group. Three tapas each are enough to feel full! Nice atmosphere and staff very kind and organized
My favourite restaurant. Amazing food, cooked incredibly well and always lovely service. I have eaten here with my fiancé or our extended family on many occasions and they deliver every time. In fact I think I am overdue another visit.
Sleek place with creative menu! All dishes are in small portion like starter size so you can try many things. I had beetroots salad which is very refreshing. The feta cheese in the salad tastes much nicer than the normal
One you get from the supermarket. I order chicken and salmon as main. They both perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also has an interesting nonalcoholic drink menu. I had Pomagranate Tea which is freshly made not the instant one. If you like coffee and don't drink dairy. They use bonsoy which is the best soymilk in the market. The staffs are very nice, very friendly. So far my experience is amazing but if you looking for a large manly portion this might not be the place.
When you think brunch, you wouldn't think Greek, but this place manages to hit it out of the park. The Taramas and Benedict were both lovely, but the real winner was the Mesovone (fried cheese!!!!!). It was light, crisp and perfect with the rhubarb jam. I'll need to come back to try the dinner menu!
In keeping up with my recent winning streak of weekend brunching, this past Sunday saw me head to Opso – the modern Greek eatery just off Marylebone High Street.
Airy and well-lit by a flood of a natural light, the restaurant certainly had an inviting air to it that sunny afternoon – its contemporary look and feel, softened by potted plants and fresh flowers.
With our visit coinciding with Greek Easter, it was no surprise that this popular weekend haunt was as busy as ever!
Opso is Gem of a place in London.
Went in not sure what to expect and heard a few good reviews!
I was really blown away by the starters full of power flavors.
Ordered the Spinach Pie ( Superb ) - Dakos Salad ( The Best I had ) - Cabbage salad ( Good ) - Taziki ( Superb ) - Fava bean ( Not Nice )
For Mains Mac N Cheese was good and the Chicken not bad at all !
Wish if they could add a chicken Souvlaki or some kind of Meat Dishes as well !
Ambience 4.5/5
Food 4.5/5
Service 3.5/5
Located in a corner off Marylebone High Street, Opso is a modern, bright restaurant serving a selection of delectably light, fresh tapas style Greek cuisine. As well as the restaurant space, it also functions as a café, wine bar and bakery, making it a perfect destination for any time of day. We headed there for a group lunch to try their enticingly affordable set menu. Their concept of social style dining, with sharing style food served in a laid-back, casual atmosphere seemed perfect for the occasion!
Interesting restaurant Greek tapas so you get to try a bit of everything. Nice selection of Greek sourced wines and sparkling wines and wide range of dishes mixing traditional and modern foods. Quite expensive for what you get though but in comparing to eating the sand dishes in Greek and the portions you get in Greece when I should as we are in London but some tapas are £10 literally for a mouth full of food but if you do mind splurging I can say it's worth a visit they really cook the meat well it's melt in the mouth.
Greek restaurant Opso has launched a new range of lunch box sandwiches to its menu. The sandwiches are priced at £7 each and are served in a koulori sesame seed bun with a side of hand cut chips and homemade tartar aioli. An invitation to sample something from the range led to me having a delicious lunch – and to discovering a few other ace reasons to keep this attractive little Marylebone eatery in mind.
One of my best friends from University days invited me to this great Greek eatery. In general I am not a fan of Greek food mainly because many of the Greek restaurants I have been to frankly suck.
Not so here. Opso is excellent they had some of the best Eggs Benedict I have ever tried as well as well prepared dishes of many delicious treats. The atmosphere is also very friendly and welcoming.

I love this place! The ambience is really nice, the food is great and the staff friendly. Plus, they have a very tasty gluten-free bread! Great place to brunch at any time of the day but it's best if you book so as not to queue (it's always full). I've been here many times and will definitely come back :)
I really enjoyed my time in Opso. Food was good, staff were friendly. It threw me off at first that at a Greek restaurant all the staff were Italians but I quickly realised that this wasn't a traditional Greek restaurant, I guess I should've done more homework. Gourmet - tapas made of Greek traditional plates is a very fresh idea and I recommend people to give it a try.

Opso, named after the ancient Greek word for “delicacy”, is a new Greek restaurant with a contemporary sort of edge. Created by British-Greek entrepreneur Andreas Labridis and architect Dimitris Karampatakis, this Marylebone restaurant has a bundle of potential that, in the end, makes for a pretty decent meal.
If there was ever one cuisine in London which needed a revival and to shrug off its 1990’s stigma of mediocre food – its Greek. Thankfully over the last twelve months this cuisine is seeing a revival and right now – Greek food is all the rage. I've been seeing it in magazines, talks of the rather unusual Retsina wine in the boozy world and to be honest – I can’t wait to see even more of this cuisine taking over London. Opso is a new restaurant which opened up in Marylebone just over a year ago now and its philosophy is to create delicious modern Greek tapas based around high quality ingredients, for which most are supplied directly from Greece. Inside the focus is on social dining, with cosy tables and long bar seating – all encompassed within a laid back and causal atmosphere. Cocktails are pretty great here too, so make sure that’s the starting point of your visit to Opso.
If you're vegetarian (which I'm not!) or need soft foods (which I don't) or like pork belly (which I do!) or want a pleasant surprise (which I like!) then this place is perfect. I had a range of vege small plates (as I was with a jewish friend) and was truly taken aback by the mushroom velouté cappuccino with truffle foam amongst other things. I was glad that they also still had classic dessert like the loukoumades. Whilst it looks like a casual cafe this "modern" Greek establishment couples ingredients and taste like that of a swanky restaurant. The vibe is cool and the staff very attentive yet cool and laid back. Will be recommending to all my friends for sure!
The Vibe
Opso is an ancient Greek word for ‘delectable morsel’ and the concept of this restaurant is social dining. Upstairs, it’s a bit tightly packed: as you enter you pass the bar area on your right and are led through into a wee space with a couple of window tables for two flanked by a large communal table with high stools. Downstairs, it’s more spacious and, for that reason, a tad more comfortable. Down here you will find the ‘Larder,’ which comprises two curing chambers and a large fridge fit to burst with Greek wines. It’s a kind of Greek Bill’s in some respects. There are earthenware pots filled with herbs and the white tiles with blue food and drink designs belie the W1 address.
The Order
Like in any Greek taverna or home, you will not go hungry here. There’s an inviting menu of Greek mezedes (annoyingly referred to as ‘tapas’ – if it ain’t broke, why fix it?) which is ideal for sharing, grazing or snacking – all of which you may find yourself wanting to do on that nerve wracking first date or tricky second. Order some tzatziki and sour dough bread and mix and match dipping this with the Skordalia (a Greek potato and garlic dip) with toasted crumbled walnuts while you enjoy your drinks and conversation. The hot dog soutzoukaki with beef short-rib and cumin tomato sauce in a tahini brioche bun is playful finger food as is the ‘souvlaki’ slow cooked pork belly with tzatziki sauce in a pita bread. We tried the lemon-oregano chicken drumsticks, slow cooked for 12 hours and served with potato puree, which are delicious. No Greek meal is ever complete without a serving of chips sprinkled with oregano so don’t feel bad about ordering a portion.
The Game
Meet on a late weekend morning for brunch and take a leisurely walk along Marylebone High Street admiring the store front displays. Amble over to Opso, take your table and start with a round of reviving/indulgent cocktails – delete as appropriate. Try the ‘Drunk Sinatra’ – bourbon, rakomelo (a honey and Raki blend), aromatic bitters and honeycomb or the ‘Paddington Street’ – London dry gin, pistachio paste, fresh pineapple puree, vanilla syrup and fresh lemon juice. Pick a few meze items and share. If you feel like moving on to something more substantial, there’s plenty to choose from: slow cooked poached eggs on ‘koulouri’ milk bread with Greek yoghurt hollandaise and bacon or Strapatsada scrambled eggs on grilled sour dough bread with cherry tomatoes and feta cheese.
Alternatively, Opso would be a nice location for a casual coffee or lunch date or for a spot of dessert following dinner elsewhere. The desserts and coffees are intriguing and moreish so well worth stopping by for.
The Faults
Service is a little higgledy-piggledy but it’s kinda part of the fun.

2. A delightful spot for summertime brunch with your fave du jour.
Opso! Firstly, I don't know if it's just me but there's something very catchy about the name. Its one of those names that come to your mind when you're hungry or plan to go out to eat and the only place that pops into your head. Secondly, the food. Its just so tasty. And what I did especially like what the fact that the portion size is good and so are the prices. I was very satisfied with everything that my cousin and I ordered, and the interiors are light, breezy and bright making it a lovely lunchy-bruncy type place. The pork belly pita bread with tzatziki was really nice, the lamb shanks were nice too, and I would definitely suggest the 'Paddington Street' cocktail if you would like a fun twist on a gin cocktail. Overall food was very good, especially for the price and a place one would happily visit with friends and family. Will definitely try the desserts next time! :)
Get a table by the window on a sunny day and you can spend hours here.
The appetizers are good, the selection isn't elaborate but good enough.
The portion sizes are reasonable so don't order too much. We did and ended up wasting most of it.
Coffee is good. So is the service. Will recommend this to friends.
Vegetarians would have a reason to smile as the menu is loaded in their favour. It calls itself a modern Greek food tavern so its not the traditional fare but inspired by the cuisine.
Lunch for 6 at about 18gbp per person with drinks (no desert) alacarte and the same for a set menu with.
Food and service - excellent. The Star dish -the lamb shank was a tad disappointing from a taste experience point of view.
Focused on “social style dining”, Opso sells itself as “Greece inspired, London made”. Thirteen words in, and I’ve already used quotation marks twice – which either means good marketing on the restaurant’s behalf or a massive state of sloth on mine. Location: Opso, Marylebone, London
Met up with the lovely Steph from Eat With Steph for brunch on Sunday. I saw pics from her instagram and I had to come down and eat with her at Opso. At first; I thought it was a Japanese place but oh no, far from it! Opso is a modern Greek restaurant in the heart of Marylebone, London. We had a massive brunch as clearly; our eyes were bigger than our stomach. What did we order:
Strapatsada scrambled eggs on grilled sourdough bread, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese £8
OPSO pancake with cheese cream strawberry jam and blueberries £6
Snails and chips with bacon and vinegar £9.50
Salmon burger with tomato jam and garlic mayo in a squid ink bun £6
I loved the meal; it was delicious, hearty, creative and Instagrammable! I came in wanting to try their squid ink bun mini burger and although it was tasty; I wanted it because of the novelty factor; however the bun itself didn't taste so fresh :s The next thing that intrigued me was the snails, bacon and vinegar chips - I am no fan of snails but sounded unusual so I have it a go. My thoughts? Flippin tasty!!
I have to really rate their service; it was fantastic! They are very attentative even when we asked for the bill and Steph carried on eating; the waiter suggested to not present the bill until Steph had finish her food! They really care about their service and our enjoyment of their food! As we left I had to tell them that their service was fantastic because your feedback can really make their day; especially when it made my experience that memorable and enjoyable.
One of the yummiest breakfasts in london.. Been there twice now and planning to go more often , if only they return breakfast on the menu all days of the week !
The food is fresh and zingy and makes me think of some of the best brunches at my favorite cafés in Australia. Fresh blueberry pancakes transcend their earthly carbohydrate bonds and move into something of the celestial with the generous addition of much too much fresh lime zest. It’s brilliant.
The kitchen uses Greek ingredients (with the occasional British twist) in imaginative ways to great effect.
As an Opso regular, I always order the poached eggs. It is a great twist on the classic. That said, the scrambled eggs with feta and tomato is probably the best breakfast dish on the menu - but it's too decadent for me! The pancakes with frozen blueberries are an absolute must so make sure you save room.
I particularly love Opso in the summer for the outdoor seating but going early is a must!
I'd rate it 4.5 stars but last time I was there I asked whether the iced coffee had milk; the waitress said no so I ordered it. When it arrived it clearly had dairy in it so I sent it back. The waitress told me it had no milk, it had double cream. Obviously if I can't drink milk I can't exactly drink double cream either. She did not apologise and it was on the bill, which was either poor service or a careless error.
I will go back to Opso because of the food and location but I was not impressed with the service last time!
Popped in and had coffee and some delicious snacks! Really good food, amazing atmosphere good service! It is located in a beautiful place in Marylebone. Thank you guys
Opso is my new favourite restaurant. It’s located on Paddington Street, just off of Marylebone High Streets and sits in the space that used to be Ping Pong. I’m quite happy about the change in occupants. Gone are the dark, tired looking interiors of Ping Pong, now replaced by the airy light wood interiors of Opso.
And now, anytime I want to go out for a meal, I keep veering back to Opso. So much so, that I’ve tried pretty much most of their menu which is full of inventive creations using classic Greek flavours to the best results.
Here are some of the dishes I've tried:
The Taramas Cream is a cod roe spread served with rye crackers. These are utterly more-ish and hit the right note of tasting just like how a good fish roe spread should taste (i.e. creamy and lush without being too fishy).
Another favourite is the Grouper Tartare - a unique fish tartare tangled with fresh fragrant herbs.
The Fish Burgers are clever innovative sliders of lightly fried grouper fish encased between two squid ink buns and sweetish tomato jam and is served with the yummiest of chips and more of the squid ink in the aioli. Sheer perfection.
The Metsovone Cheese is a fried oval disc of smoked cheese that has a lovely crumbly crunchy outer coating which when cut open reveals gloriously oozing stringy cheese. Paired with a rhubarb jam to add the right amount of tartness to cut through all that cheese!
The Pastitsio is their take on a lasagne but much more lighter and tastier: Greek pasta with slow cooked beef, a sweetish tomato sauce and béchamel sauce. It isn't the prettiest dish on the plate but if you’re craving a carb-heavy dish, this totally hits the spot.
The Chicken Liver Mousse is served in a little jar with apricot jam. It’s a nice light way to start the meal and is a good brunch option.
Perhaps the only dish that didn’t knock my socks off was the Chicken Drumsticks in a lemon and oregano sauce. That being said, my friend did enjoy this dish of slow cooked chicken.
Another good dish is the Cod Tempura with roast beetroots and walnuts, though with a price tag of £16 for such a small portion, I’m wary of ordering it again.
That’s the only thing I’d be a bit careful of at Opso – ordering all these dishes can add up. It’s not clear on the menu what the portion size is or whether it’s more of starter or main course so you’re not entirely sure how many dishes to order. It’s a good idea to check with your server. Though take note, they are quite new and have a couple of inexperienced servers wandering around.
To sum up, Opso has a lot of fun and innovative dishes to try which you can’t really get anywhere else. I totally recommend checking if out if you’re in Marylebone or close to Baker Street.
This place serves some of the best Greek flavored dishes around my neighborhood, and I've been to this place twice in the last couple of months. Almost all the dishes on the menu are brilliantly prepared and I would recommend all the dishes on the menu. Most of the cocktails that we tried were delicious as well and were presented in an amazing manner.
This place is amazing! Our city lacks good places for Greek cuisine and this place certainly tries to play its part in correcting that. You will find a lot of authentic and forgotten Greek dishes here like the halva and loukoumades. They are both quite delectable. The eggs here with feta cheese are something you must try. The staff is nice and pleasant. Definitely worth a visit.
If you are looking to try out Greek food then this is the best option for you without a second thought. This joint changed the way I perceived Greek food. Generally Greeks have good cooking habits and the food is not just tasty but also healthy. I tried the dish 'Opso' which in my opinion raised the bar to my expectation from Greek food. You can also try the mini fish burger. You will definitely love it!
The restaurant has been recently refurbished and we like the new setting by a great margin. The decor is modern and in Greek style. The food was delectable and sumptuous. We were very glad with what we ate. The ingredients used were farm fresh and the flavors were correct. Totally recommended.
This is a new place that has opened up in nearby and I thought of giving it a try. The atmosphere is convivial. The drinks and food can tickle your taste buds. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The servers are cordial and nice to you. They will even take you on their kitchen tour to acquaint you with how the food is prepared. The only drwaback is that it turns out to be a little expensive.
I had visited the restaurant for brunch and had a lovely time. The interiors are beautiful. The staff is both attentive and friendly. One of our orders was cold but that is excusable. The food is a great deal for money and I shall return soon. The restaurant is preferred for breakfasts though.
This was one of those experiences where the customers are treated as kings especially because the restaurant has just opened up and it is building its customer base. We were seated comfortably as soon as we entered. They were cordial enough to see that everything we wanted was made available to us before we would ask for it. My breakfast comprised off cheese omelet and hot coffee and both of them were prepared well.
Based on a totally Greek concept this place is quite fancy and very catchy. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. The staff on the other hand is not up to the mark in terms of their service and their personalities. This place is amazing when it comes to food, ambiance, decor and the music being played throughout. Worth giving a shot.
We went here for some lunch and were not disappointed. We were suggested that we order for two. We decided to do so but found the portions to be too tiny to be shared among us. The food tasted brilliant but was not filling. Also, it was quite overpriced for the amount we were paying for it. The staff is quick and efficient though.
The restaurant has two areas to dine at inside and outside. It would be amazing to spend your sunny afternoons at the outside. the food is both delectable and sumptuous. The prices are reasonable too. the staff is friendly although the service lacks as the place is sometimes disorganized. Recommended.
We already had a reservation for this place on a Saturday evening and as soon as we went to this place, they were unable to find our reservation in their list. It took us some time to resolve this before we were seated. This place serves authentic Greek food which is high on flavors and taste!
This place has opened recently and I had visited this place earlier today. Since the place is new in this city, the interiors are very fancy and very catchy. This place possesses a different personality altogether. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. The service is pretty quick and very efficient. Recommended.
This is one of the most delicious, unpretentious and beautiful meals I have had a chance to eat. The menu offers a lot of variety with a twist and innovation in each of their dishes. The staff is very polite and friendly. They are also quick, efficient and very attentive. This place has amazing standards. Definitely recommended.
Lovely food , all freshly prepared and nothing heavy either . A very typical cafe just the way most places are in Australia , almost reminded me of home . The food tasted good , and the service is timely .A delightful experience . A must visit for everyone .
This place is now open for lunch menu only. I really enjoyed my visit here. The food was good , there was nothing special about it but it was good enough and same goes for the service.. The waiters are very friendly.
I will recommend this place for amazing time.
This is fairly new restaurant catering to Greek cuisine. I happened to go here last week and found the place to be completely full of people, all clearly enjoying themselves. This one seems to have taken all the customers from its nearby competitors. The food is quite delicious and worth every penny, just like the others reviews say. The staff is fairly helpful and prompt as well. Worth a visit.
I have had a good time at this restaurant. I could not completely engage the feel of it in this visit. I found it to be somewhere between a contemporary take on Greek dishes in a British way or vice versa. Whatever it was, it did work wonders for me!
I did not get the table and had to eat at the bar, but the food totally compensated for it. I would not mind if again i have to eat at the bar. My order consisted of the chicken and lamb shank. There was no space left for dessert. I would definitely come next time to try their other dishes from their menu as well!
Opso is a Greek Restaurant located in Paddington street near the famous Marylebone High street and close to Regents Park tube and Baker Street stations.
The restaurant offers the traditional Greek Food focusing on the traditional and modern flavours, selecting the best, freshly organic ingredients in preparing their menu.
The restaurant is quite new in the area and I started going often when is my lunch break from university.
I can recommend you to try the Taramas Plates to share, the Mushroom Soup or the Chicken Drumsticks. As a desert would a advice you to order the Walnut Cake with honey syrup and sour cherry cream.
Modern atmosphere, decent services!
Themed as a modern Greek cafe-restaurant, Opso and its 6-year-aged feta cheese were introduced to me by a fellow food-fanatic, who had been tipped off about it even before it had opened its doors to customers. The recommendation was spot on: this place is virtually flawless; the attention to detail clearly immaculate.
J and I arrived for a sunny, sunday morning brunch date and took our seats on modern stools at the long, wooden, sharing table in the middle of the room overhung by a snazzy lighting arrangement. The young, trendy and extremely friendly team of waiters were immediately tending to our every need, providing for us refillable water by the jug, and offering an alternative table to sit at in case my crippled accomplice was uncomfortable. A quick glance around the restaurant was enough to identify a beautifully designed interior - Greek marble floors and slatted wooden walls complimented by the abundance of natural light that flowed through the glass exterior. Even the music had been well-chosen, and clearly added to a great atmosphere.
Unsurprisingly, we launched ourselves into the Plates to Share section of the menu so as to taste as much as possible. After much debate, we ordered the Chicken Liver Mousse, the Feta Cheese, the Spinach Pie, and the Wild Boar Sausage. The chicken comes with two deliciously tasty slices of freshly-baked rye bread, as well as little jars of apricot jam and the liver mousse itself, which when combined produces a lethal and thoroughly addictive combination (though i would happily eat the liver by itself, by the bucket-load). The feta cheese was just as good as J had promised - exquisitely soft and creamy, yet nowhere near as pungent as you might expect, given its maturity. Whilst feta is usually one of a number of ingredients in a Greek Salad, this dish was so good that there really is no need to serve it with anything at all. Next came the Spinach pie, which was a lovely, delicate and highly tasty dish, but perhaps my fourth favourite out of the four that we ordered. The wild boar sausage, served with a celeriac remoulade (a sort of cold pasta), was brilliant, and well worth a re-order upon my next visit.
At £17 per head, and given the high quality of the food, service and atmosphere, the meal was great value for money. This was one of the best restaurant recommendations I have had to date - my expectations were not only matched but beaten by what was a fantastic culinary experience. Another friend of mine has disagreed with me, remarking that some of the dishes are incredibly small given what you pay for them. This may be true - take for example, the Cod Tempura (£16), a slither of fish that is apparently no bigger than the average index finger. On this I cannot comment; i leave it a stone to be unturned upon my next visit.
We had our wedding reception here and it was perfect! The downstairs “Larder” is a cosy, moody room with atmospheric lighting. We had 47 people on the day, it was definitely a cosy squeeze but everyone fit and it never felt like it was too cramped.
The food it absolutely mind blowing and every single guest told us how amazing it was. We went with the bottomless drinks package and I would definitely recommend, you never had to ask for more drinks, they just kept topping up wine and making sure everyone was having a good time!
We could not have asked for a better meal, every single member of staff was super nice and helpful.
Upmarket Greek food-inspired restaurant. Seating options include the front bar, a rear communal high table, and individual tables for couples or small groups.
Portion sizes are relatively small but all dishes tried to date (second time here) are delicious, with beautiful flavour combinations. Service is friendly, attentive and professional.
So why only 4 stars?
- Firstly, although 2-hour table turnaround times are commonplace in London, we were asked to vacate our table to finish our drinks at the bar after 2 hours precisely. Why not leave a minimum of 15 minutes between bookings to give customers a few minutes grace period? This suggests profit above customer satisfaction.
- Secondly, we were very happy to pay the 15% ‘optional’ service charge, but then the card machine presented us with a tip option. The service was excellent, but I believe that it’s cheeky to ask customers to make this decision. I’m not a tourist and politely explained to the waiter why I wouldn’t pay this further service charge! I wonder how many visitors to London just pay, for fear of offending? Again, too profit oriented.
I will most definitely return (everyone says that brunch is amazing) but the above slightly tainted my experience.
The weekend brunch is super super good. Absolutely love the truffle lamb rice. I was scraping every last bit of food in the plate. Didn’t expect to have such a wonderful experience. Worth every penny. Would love to come next time.
Chose this popular brunch spot for long due meet up with a friend due to the raving reviews on the social media. The place is actually smaller than I imagine with both indoor and outdoor seatings, and more seats in the basement which look even tighter.
We ordered the lotus pancake and Green ‘Kayanas’ (A piece of sourdough is served with an additional coat of £2.50) as well as the Ibrik coffee. The service is excellent and I particularly enjoyed the lotus pancake but I would say the food is quite overpriced which I guess is typical in London. I would still like to give other dishes on the menu a go though.
EDIT - went back to OPSO for the second time as another friend would love to give this a go. Ordered the very berry pancake which is nice but pretty standard. The highlight is definitely the open lamb pita which has the perfect balance of spices, the meat is soft and the pita bread is already cut up into easy to eat slices. The hot chocolate is another good addition to the meal too which is extremely rich with a hint of orange peel.
The food is brilliant and has rich flavour. Perfect from start to end. We loved it so much and will definitely come back again. Staff here are amazing!
A lovely lunch @ OPSO amazed by its signature Lamb Shank. The combo of lamb & black truffle works like magic, couldn't resist bite after bite!
The 12 months barrel-aged feta cheese in the Dakos Salad was also wonderful! 🧀
Came here for Lotus pancake. Overall ‘good enough’ experience to recommend for those who look for place to have brunch in the area. Lotus pancake worth the popularity, very nice flavours and texture, not overly sweet. Omelettes dish was cooked nice and fluffy egg with the right level seasoning. Omelettes come in a small portion and does not come with any breads so would recommend to add one. Ok coffee. Service was prompt, everything was served very quickly although it does not mean that all the staffs were friendly.
Food was ok but service was great. Ordered very berry pancake and scrambled eggs and they were not the kind of pancake and scrambled eggs you usually get for other places, size was small compared to the price though. One thing I like is the latte freddo which looked really fancy and tasted nice but well, it was almost £5. Worth a try if you are looking for a fanciful and healthy sunday brunch.
Lovely food, table service was fantastic but there was a long wait for front of house to come to the front door and check our reservation.
Brunch and desserts look to be great value. Dinner is dominated by sharing mains which then limits choices.
Very poor selection for vegans, just a heads up.
If you are looking for flavor & yumminess-rich food then this is your place 🤩
I would definitely come back to this place to try the rest of their beautifully crafted menu!!
Our beautiful waiter Kamelia had great recommendations for us and we enjoyed our food to the last bite ♥️
Thank you OPSO
Saw a post on Instagram about their pancakes so I came here with a friend for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I already knew about this place before and was fully aware of its slightly higher end of pricing so had been hesitant to try their Michelin Greek food. Thankfully for brunch it wasn't too bad that's why I was happy to give it a go.
We ordered both the Lotus pancake and the very berry pancake. I also got a freddo cappuccino which was absolutely amazing! Smooth taste and very strong coffee, nicely done! Pancakes were phenomenal, we both really enjoyed them but we both thought the Lotus pancake ranked slightly higher than the berry pancake because the milk chocolate cream was just smooth and rich but not overly sweet. However, we thought it was a shame that there was only a small amount of lotus biscuit crumbles around the pancake and thought there should have been a lot more as that would have added a lot more to the texture which made it pleasant and fun to eat at the same time. Pancakes were soft, fluffy and thick which was exactly my personal pancake preference. The berry pancake was amazing too, the tanginess of the berries balanced out the heaviness of the whipped cream and we finished everything super quickly.
The only down thing I didn't like while eating and chatting was that the waiter was too quick to take away the Lotus pancake plate. We wanted to savour the crumbles but he must assumed we were done with it and it was that awkward moment when he took the plate away and we didn't know how to ask him not to because we didn't want to look bad. I suppose this is something the team can have a think about going forward.
I really appreciated the quality of service from entering the restaurant to leaving the place. They took my jacket away so we could have more space at the table and it was safely stored away.
It's a great place for brunch if you feel like treating yourself so I recommend it. But it's not a cheap one so one thing to note if you are looking more for affordable brunch as this won't be the place.
This place is hands down one of the best brunch restaurants, the food was so yummy and tasted so good. It’s definitely worth a try, even the matcha latte was really good.
Excellent place to experience modern Greek food with a great drink menu, the service was impeccable, value for money so-so, but you will leave happy and well fed, 8 of us were together for dinner and the service was excellent and the food recommendations were spot on
Friendly service, nice comfy venue and a great menu. Wine options are limited but nice choices. I think personally it’s overpriced for what it is and not being very well established. It doesn’t have a luxe vibe to have the prices that it does, just some feedback. However I will definitely come again!
Great food , best quality. For sure top option for Greek cuisine! We had dinner at the bar and were served by Sirios & Efthimis who made our night super warm with their cocktail creations! 100/10!!!
You have my heart OPSO❤️
Great experience at Opso, a modern Greek restaurant near Marylebone. We were a group of 10 and so pretty much had most things on the menu. Everything was good, and the cost was £80 per person. Standout dishes were the Open Lamb Pitta, Feta Katalfi and the Spanakopita.
We also had the Wagyu Beef Short Ribs and the Lemon Oregano chicken and the Octopus Stifado - which were decent.
Good service as well. Would recommend visiting for a nice occasion.
Very nice food ! Typical Greek dishes with a twist! If your experience from Greece is only suvlaki then most likely you won't enjoy it that much ! Service was spotless, our waiter was very helpful, friendly and professional! We enjoyed a lot the lamb & the dakos salad!! The downstairs dining area was very clean, tidy and spacious.
An issue with our wine but was dealt in very professional way by the staff. Profiteroles amazing
