British Tapas - Chicken liver, foie gras parfait, pork and sage scotch egg, Sliced beef and I can't remember what else. These are just to starters, little bites to share. I've never liked foie gras nor encourage people to eat it, but since it's already on the table I'll just try. Turned out to be OK actually, never knew foie gras tasted good actually. Previously I had it once in Paris and I hated it. I personally like the Pâté with bread, fish if I remember correctly. It has a combination of taste in it and it went really well with the sliced baguette.
London is so full of new restaurants right now and places are quite literally opening under my nose without me ever noticing. Sometimes not knowing the next opening from the other doesn’t usually bother me, but when there’s one with such a moorish history and Victorian charm I feel a little sad that I’m so late to the game. Boyds Grill & Wine Bar is relatively new and located inside The Grand Hotel at Trafalgar Square. Expect lots of copper, gold and marble – mixed with eclectic furniture pieces and striking chandeliers which hang throughout the room. We started our experience here with a delicious cocktail at the sumptuous bar before settling into the dining room. Two very different experiences which make this place the type of venue you really don’t have to leave – it has it all.
A building with heritage, 8 Northumberland Avenue was opened in 1897 as the 500 room Victoria Hotel. Boyd’s Grill and Wine Bar now occupies the ground floor lobby dining room – a splendid open space with 20ft-high walls, clad in Verde de Prato and Sanguino marble. Part of the original hotel designed by Isaacs and Florence, architects of The Connaught, the space has been updated with a grand central bar and decadent chandeliers.
Boyd's Brasserie is a lovely place to come for a meal, or just for drinks too.
This is a classy restaurant and the décor of the main dining area is beautiful.
This elegance is actually matched by the entrance too - it really does feel like you've fallen into the lap of luxury as soon as you walk through the doors.
The food here is also well prepared and served in decent sized portions.
From the two occasions that I have dined here so far I have had a very positive impression from it and will certainly be returning as soon as I can find an excuse!
Inside, the place is majestic. The walls are marbled, restored to their original period details. Entering the revolving doors into the lobby with high ceilings from which chandeliers not only hang beautifully demanding attention but, at the same time, gently lay a background to the scene. There is a spacious area just for waiting place before the bar and restaurant, in which, you could also entertain yourself to a cocktail drink from the 1920′s style bar.
I had a wonderful experience at Boyd's Grill & Wine Bar. The waiter was so attentive even though the restaurant was short staffed on the night I dined there. Service was fast despite that! Food was tasty. Decor and ambiance were noteworthy.
Really enjoyed the meal here in a comfortable and contemporary yet still period feeling venue. Cocktails were great but a slightly limited selection. The food had great portions and was perfect in every way and the waiter was friendly and offered great menu advice.
Food great, and for central London it was reasonably priced. We were served by two people who were excellent. We were there for my daughters graduation and without asking they piped 'congratulations' on her dessert plate.
Lovely place to go for a meal and a drink. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is great too. The staff is very helpful and the place is never very full so it's great if you don't know where to go but want a good meal. They have a great wine selection too. I see a lot of people having dinner here before going to see a show. Highly recommended

My husband's says this is 3.8 stars, the food is good, the service was pleasant, the atmosphere is pretty typical of a hotel restaurant at this level. We've eaten all over the world, so I think this is a fair representation.
Amazingly good food and very friendly service. Food is amazing and beautifully presented. Portions are good and surprisingly good value for money as well. Went here for lunch after a seminar and enjoyed every minute of it.
Ford quality was excellent. All of the dishes tasted great and the portions were substantial. The atmosphere is fairly quite and bordering on romantic. The feel and look of the surrounds is amazing with high quality marble work and finishings.
I could stay here all day long; the place is gorgeous and the atmosphere is lovely.
Also the staff is amazing, I've been served by Benedetta, who is an amazing waitress. I will definitely come back soon
We wandered in here, dragging and disheveled, after a long day of tourist activities, but were welcomed graciously and received excellent bar service. I’d hoped for a fun craft cocktail, but the menu contained only the classics. We were happy enough with the wine list and our glasses were never empty because we were so well tended to. Boyd’s was a great place to reset in the late afternoon and plan our evening!
