great location for any occasion.
The owner and chef used their extensive knowledge of subtile food and wine pairings to create a beautyful seasonal menu.
Feedback will provide a high level of sevice with a personal touch and a great attention to detail. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a lovely lunch or diner in one of the coziest streets of The Hague!

A fulfilling fine dining meal every time we’re in London. Highly recommended the suckling pig and monk fish, zucchini fries and tagliatelle. Look forward to next time.

Amazing food ! Very friendly and polite staff ! The potato pockets are to die for so is the lamb ! The garlic bread in the bread basket is mind blowing ! We walked in with out a reservation and they were kind enough to accommodate despite being pretty full. The altered the pasta to help suit the kids palate! Awesome place ! Will definitely go back !

Had lunch at the acclaimed locanda locatelli just now. Ordered the John Dory, lobster linguini and prawns. Dessert was tiramisu and the special of the day. Good food and decent desserts. Good service and ambience.

Average starters, however the main course was extraordinarily good! We ordered tagliatelle with black truffle shavings, Gnocchi, seafood Linguine and Ravioli filled with pheasant. Tiramisu was sub par, great ambience and service.

Giorgio Locatelli has been around the block for what seems like ages. He trained under Anton Edelmann at the Savoy before stints in Paris, including (then 3 Michelin starred) La Tour D’Argent. Locatelli then returned to England to help open Zafferano which won a Michelin star in 1999 which he held on to until he left to open up his own solo venture. His eponymous restaurant, Locanda Locatelli, has held on to its Michelin star for more than 13 years. Despite being a bit of a celeb haunt, the restaurant goes about its business quietly with very little fanfare on social media. The restaurant underwent a refurb back in 2014-15 due to a kitchen fire.

When I'm in London I always make sure I get to the Locatelli at least twice .

Fantastic Italian food, great staff and a wonderful experience .

Last time I was there saw Bono and the Edge with a group of 10 + so if it's good enough for U2 you can imagine how good the food is

Following their renovation after a fire (you should really watch were you drop those cigarette butts) I decided to visit to see if the kitchen was still up to scratch following a necessary hasty departure from the premises by the cooks.  The new menu unfortunately was missing some of the favourites I had enjoyed on my last visit which were dishes that I had not seen elsewhere (and haven’t since) such as ox tail ravioli.  Given that on my last visit I had been granted a new perspective on Italian food, I entered with high hopes.

The dining room with its high ceilings and soft furnishing is great.  A nice quiet place away from the bustle of Oxford Street at a price that is quite a bit more than the usual eateries around here but then again you definitely get what you pay for.  If you are hungry, the bread basket is to die for.  I never knew how much you could fit in a basket.

Amazing pastas! Need to say more? I have been hearing how good Locanda Locatelli was for a long time but they closed down for a bit last year because of a fire and just recently reopened. It was worth the wait and we will be back!

Gorgeous George does it in Style. Locatelli's ethos and short menu ensures the freshness and quality of the ingredients ,which is what this place is all about.
Well timed pasta dishes and sumptuous mains are presented by properly schooled waiters.
An easily approachable and knowledgeable sommelier made us feel suitably welcome and he was happy to talk about various wines and regions without trying to sell.
The bill came to £180 for 2 and for the occasion was well worth it.

Bad First Experience, Better Second.... I end up giving them a thumbs up for really making up for a terrible initial dining experience with Locanda.

Great fresh pasta. Highly recommend going simple, as their food is just superb.

This American LOVED it!. I have to say that in my 20 year absence from visiting London, the city has discovered fine cuisine! This restaurant was fabulous. I can hardly believe the reviews which refer to bad service -- we were pampered from start to finish! Bravo Locanda Locatelli!

The lemon ravioli with pork ragu is the best main course I have ever tasted. Nice décor and the odd A list celeb make this a choice restaurant.

Locanda Locatelli is one of the trendsetters of Modern Italian dishes in London. The dishes are heavier and more substantial than for instance Zucca or Bocca di Lupo and the menu lends itself less for sharing plates. However, if you want Michelin star quality Italian cooking in a more formal setting without sacrificing taste than this is the place to go.

Other than the somewhat ambitious pricing, this is a great high-end Italian. There is plenty of choice without it being overwhelming. You can have a plate of pasta or four courses. It’s great for carnivores, pescavores and vegetarians. The wine list is good, the decor is elegant and the staff are all enthusiastic as well as rather beautiful.

Best bread basket in town. Asked our sommelier for wine pairings and he loved it. Attentive and very knowledgeable. Food was outstanding and it was awesome to see a few 'old fashioned' Italian favourite a dressed up. Lots of suits around so clearly a bit of a businessman's haunt. Also suggest taking a candle if you want to read the menu. Dark as all hell, but beautiful and very intimate.

Giorgio Locatelli opened his own restaurant in February 2002 after his stint as head chef at Zafferano, where he led the kitchens from 1995. He had previously worked at The Savoy under Anton Edelman in the late 1980s and in Paris in the early 1990s at Laurent and Tour d’Argent. The Locanda Locatelli menu had anti-pasta priced at £9.50 - £13.50, pasta between £9 and £20, main courses at £23.50 to £32.50, with side dishes £4.50 extra, and desserts £6.75 to £12.50. The dining room seats around 70 diners, and on this visit the lighting was subdued to the point of gloom, making it tricky to even read the menu. I have no idea why restaurant managers do this.

The wine list was extensive, with over 500 selections, mostly from Italy but also featuring wines using Italian grapes from around the world. The list ranged in price from £15 to £848, with a median price of £79 and an average mark-up of around 2.7 times retail price, which is pretty fair for central London. Example wines included Orvieto Tragugnano Sergio Mottura 2011 at £38 for a wine that you can find in the high street for £14, Jassarte Guado Al Melo Azienda Agricola Castagneto Carducci 2006 at £59 for a wine that retails at around £22, and Tignanello Antinori 2006 at £155 for a wine that will set you back £77 in a shop. Bread is good here, from the bread sticks to the soft focaccia (16/20).

Salad of artichoke with shallots, Parmesan and rocket was pleasant, the rocket excellent though the pickled artichokes were a touch sharp (15/20). Better was a salad of potato and green beans with shallot dressing and a shaving of black truffle, the vegetables carefully cooked, the truffle lifting the dish (16/20). Linguine of lobster with tomato, chilli and garlic was enjoyable, the lobster tender, the pasta having good texture, though the chilli was subtle to the point of invisibility. The tomatoes had good texture, the seasoning on the edge between bold and over-salty, but for me this worked well (16/20). Ravioli of veal with veal stock was also good, the fresh pasta having very good texture, the meat good, though the stock could have had more intensity (16/20).

For dessert, ice creams were well made, though an Amalfi lemon Eton mess had pleasant meringue but was a little lacking in lemon freshness (barely 15/20). Coffee was good, as it should be at £4.75 for a double espresso. If you ask for a top-up of your espresso then that is another £4.75 on top; given that a coffee costs a restaurant perhaps 20p this seems to me sheer greed. The bill came to £109 a head for three courses and a nice bottle of wine. Service was capable, with topping up efficient, though it never felt particularly friendly. Overall this is much as I remember Locanda Locatelli: a well-drilled, efficient operation with good food at a high price point. It is a bit pricier than Zafferano and less good than Apsleys. Locanda Locatelli is a place I can admire rather than love.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel, and I have to say the food quality was quite amazing. This is a solid Italian restaurant with very refined cuisine. The service was also excellent. The best item we ate here is the octopus, and the pasta dish was equally amazing.

There are good reasons that this amazing restaurant only got 4 stars from me, particularly when the food was so amazing and it has a Michelin star and we were really excited to go there having seen Georgio Locatelli on tele. First… it an only be judged against other Michelin Star places, and the food and wine certainly held its own, but didn’t astonish. We’ve had better and worse. Second, and most upsetting was the service. Let me be clear, the lady that looked after us was superb. Professional, invisible while we ate but miraculously present the moment you needed her. I wish I had made a note of her name… I often do. My issue come from two things that simply should not happen at a Michelin star place 1. The boss told one of the waitresses off on the main restaurant floor - right in front of us. She may well have committed a dreadful crime but as a paying guest I did not need to see the discussion. 2. We were a table for two, seated at a table for six/eight made up of three small tables. The table had to be taken out for my wife to sit down. Then… incredibly… another guest was seated right next to us. Honestly… right next to us. I liked the food, but at almost £200 per head (and only one of us drinking) I think they let themselves down. Four stars reflect lovely food and a nice lady that looked after us.

Excellent Italian restaurant by Locatelli. Good atmosphere, great service and food. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been so pricey. £300 for two courses and two glasses of wine for two persons is steep.

This was my second time visiting and it was absolutely exquisite. The staff were lovely and very accommodating of my pregnancy, the food was excellent, the service was perfectly paced ( 3 courses over 2.5 hours) and the atmosphere was lovely for an intimate dinner for 5. It was also a celebratory dinner, and the team provided some additional after dinner treats on a platter which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend.

A delightful experience to eat at LL : the food was an excellent mix of flavours, intelligently combined to elate the palat! The portions sufficient to feed a human, not like the tridimensional microscopic servings you get in certain "stellar" restaurants! The staff are all extremely professional, yet friendly enough to make you feel at home! Really worth the price (to be a Michelin star not even too high after all)! We'll be back!

I had a good experience at Locanda Locatelli. Their menu had a good variety of different options to eat, and their staff was also really nice! I especially recommend trying the fresh burrata cheese as it was really good and creamy. Overall, I had a good experience here and recommend it for someone who wants a Italian restaurant with a variety of different A-la carte options.

The place was very welcoming already from when you get into the restaurant. The waiters take good care of the customers and the service is top quality. The food is outstanding. I ate a Risotto with Rabbit Ragu and it was outstanding. I recommend to go and eat at this restaurant if you want the finest Italian food.

Calm atmosphere and professional service with a variety of dishes to choose from. Everything was exceptionally good except from the steamed spinach which completely lacked seasoning. Our favourites were the lobster linguine, scallops for starter and the pistachio mousse with chocolate ice cream. The list of wines is also rich and good quality. Overall, the food was delicious and for a very decent price.

We dropped in for a quick lunch and weren't quite ready for the experience we enjoyed. First of all the staff was extremely helpful and patient while we made our choices. My wife had the Melanzana affumicata which is an oven-baked aubergine (eggplant) with soya milk ricotta, toasted hazelnuts, basil pesto, and red pepper puree. I enjoyed the Ravioli di coda alla vaccinara which was simply homemade oxtail ravioli. I also must mention the three types of wonderful breads and the excellent olive oil which accompanied our selections. The wine was amazing and the selection was over the top. The presentation of everything was ideal and very much picture-perfect. The ambiance was spot-on for an upscale restaurant, I'm sure we will return to Locanda Locatelli the next time we are in London. I can fully understand why there was a Michelin Star placard on the wall of this establishment. This was a great experience and I encourage you to drop by and enjoy this restaurant yourself.
