We stayed at Park Plaza London Waterloo and had buffet breakfast at the Florentine Restaurant & Bar. They weren't kidding when they said that there's quite a foot traffic on certain times. Line was a bit long but the staff are organized and accommodating. We ate there twice. On our first day, we got seated very far from the buffet spread because of the volume of diners.
Food is the usual - bread, cheese, sausages etc. I don't like sausages and beans so much but I got to enjoy these when we were there. Nothing really stood out but food was okay and satisfying.
THE MOST INSANE BURGER I’VE EVER HAD FULL STOP. This restaurant is in an upscale hotel and has a lovely, cosy setting perfect for a couple or a nice catch up with a group of friends like we did. With a wide variety of classic brunch options, drinks and a nice meaty grill menu, I quite enjoyed the vibes of this restaurant. But we only came here for one purpose and one purpose only.. to conquer their massive burger. So they have two famous meals you can try – the 2 kilogram Herculean burger, or the ostrich egg english breakfast which is equivalent to 24 normal chicken eggs. So in a keen group of 6 people, we decided to tackle the monster of a burger and were delighted to easily conquer the challenge, leaving the restaurant with a fun experience albeit the heavy feeling of guilt after consuming way too many calories 😛 (at least I walked back to the London city)
The influences are diverse, the food is aplenty and our brunch at Florentine concludes as a roaring success. My friend Craig and I had a fantastic time checking out the new-ish restaurant and bar that’s part of the Park Plaza Waterloo. It’s minutes from South Bank with that extra distance making for one of the finest dining options in these parts. The menu is brasserie and there’s some signature highlights including the flat breads, steaks and the unmissable ostrich egg option. As well, the cocktails and bubbles range at Florentine is superb and that’s where our time and this review starts at!
An area of London that I really don’t know much about is Lambeth North (South of Waterloo), so I was looking forward to trying out a new brunch menu in the area earlier in the summer with my friend Laura. Florentine is an all-day dining restaurant and bar on the South Bank, right opposite Lambeth North tube station, and we were there to try out their new Bottomless ‘Summer Punch Brunch’. On offer was an expertly-concocted gin punch creation created exclusively for Florentine by Beefeater gin and the bar team.
Peter Morrell enjoys a flavour packed lunch in this comfortable and stylish eatery on the South Bank. Over the last few years London’s South Bank has turned from an ugly duckling into an elegant white swan. This change has been most apparent in the number of high quality restaurants that you can now find South of the river.
I have had dinner two times and four times breakfast at this restaurant. The food was always delicious and the service was very satisfying. During our dinner Iman was serving us and she did a great job. I can recommend the pizza Margherita which comes the real Italian way.
The breakfast was also rich and had various juices, breads, cheese but also the classic British breakfast items such as beans, bacon and eggs.
I was invited to a birthday lunch and I was amazed by the atmosphere, the food, and the service. we ordered 2 salads and the biggest burger in London which came with a candle and we sang "happy birthday" to our friend. This is a massive piece of culinary excellence. 6 of us couldn't manage it.
Barry was the person looking after us and he did way better than the average service you usually get at a restaurant from this category. Very polite and friendly. Attentive and helpful.
Definitely recommend
Florentine is an all-day dining brasserie-style restaurant in Waterloo and boy is it a top restaurant well worth your time.
With a pan-European menu, it has slick interiors in low-lit settings that provides an intimate atmosphere. It's comfy as heck and great for groups as well as loved-up pairs.
The food was fantastic. The rib-eye steak was meat perfection - juicy and just the way I like it. The tiramisu and Venetian doughnuts were also a sweet success. The outstanding item on the menu was the ravioli. It's just smothered in this incredibly buttery sauce with shavings of truffles that took it up a level.
Noise level is generally kept to a minimum which allows for meaningful conversations to flow. Service was fabulous too. Receptionists are so welcoming and waiters are very attentive making sure your glass is always full.
It's perfect for dates or to celebrate a special occasion (think birthdays). You won't regret coming to Florentine.
Very tasty food and nice service. We will definitely be back😊
Amazing breakfast, my scrambled eggs were so rich and creamy and reddish, which suggest it’s good quality eggs, everything else was also well done (other than my fried egg which was over). However THE BEST part is the dessert, not an extensive menu but the Venetian doughnuts were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, so light and fluffy not greasy at all and the masala cream inside was super delicious, the blueberry cheesecake was also great. Defo would go back even just for those doughnuts 🍩
Cozy place and excellent choice for brunch really tasty dishes. However, a bit overpriced, they should include the bread with some of their starters and offer tap water instead of charging extra bottles
An eggsperience for anyone (and 3 friends) who love a tasty rich (massive) fried osterich egg although they will scramble it for you if preferred. Plus the rest of the breakfast bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom and beans were really good as well. Don't forget to pre order your egg.
Ostrich egg English breakfast is a must-have! Order fried instead of scrambled so you can take photo of the giant yolk. Pre-order recommendrd. Very friendly staff.
Excellent service and food. We had the Herculean burger and it was perfect for 4 people. Staff are super friendly as well.
Only comment is if you want to have the Côte de boeuf, you'd have to pre-order it prior to your arrival.
I took my family here for Mother’s Day roast. Ambience and setting were lovely, staff were nice and helpful as usual. I had the roast beef which was very tender, vegetables were just right and the Yorkshire pudding was light and crispy. Everyone enjoyed their meal. All in all, a pleasant Sunday’s lunch.
The pasta was great and the pizza was alright.
