I went to Shah Tandoori with my cousins.
Lived the chicken biryani, butter chicken and shahi paneer.ypu guys should definitely visit this outlet.
The food was really great, the staff were also really friendly and the atmosphere was nice. There was a large variety of dishes to choose from too. The mango lassi was my personal favourite
Coming here often with colleagues for lunch. Nice place, always plays lovely music, too. Food is alright, coming back when craving a curry. However, meals are quite expensive - you'd end up paying at least Ā£15 per person, so not something I'd go for every day.
This is one of the best Indian cuisines in London, hands down. Great quiet ambience, lovely food, impeccable service! Try the Karahi Chicken, it was superb.
13/9/17 Two years later after many visits this place is still jam packed. The quality just gets better. In my opinion there is no better Indian in London.
2015 review. Proper traditional Indian who care about their taste. I go here when in town ( often). How do you distinguish between so many Indian restaurants?first service, then the food has to be great. It has both. They are not pushing the boat out in terms of avant garde Indian movement but they could do. This is a cool place to go if you want a great quality Indian tasting experience and service that is interested in making sure you leave with a nice feeling. With so many Indian restaurants around in this area you only need to go here. Irish guy who knows his Indian food.
There are a lot of indian restaurants on Drummond street each being good in some areas. When I want to have a relaxed lunch, I come here. They open up around 1 and are almost always empty. Even then the service would be slow and it takes me around 2 hours to leave. On top of it, the food is much better than some of the other options. Try this place when you are feeling lazy/sleepy and not want to work.
Ultra super-duper fantastico!! Going back ASAP. Decor isn't the greatest but wallpaper never tastes that great anyway, lool. Service was prompt and friendly - I don't do reviews EVER but this was well worth it. I recommend the Meat Thali (variety of small curries) I changed their standard Tikka massala and Bhuna Thali to chicken madras and Lamb vindaloo. Their vindaloo doesn't blow your head off and is distinctly different to their madras. Mmmmmmm!!
Go Shah!!
We really enjoyed the food here - some of the best we've had in London. The Meat Balti was quite good.
An exceptionally good Indian with great staff. Definately the best Indian in the capital.
Thereās a huge choice of Indian restaurants on Drummond Street but a majority are vegetarian. Shah Tandoori is one of the exceptions serving all your favourite meats.
I arrived there on a Friday lunchtime and it was empty. Completely empty. This didnāt look like it would bode well, as almost every other restaurant we passed on the way was bustling.
The restaurant itself has is presented in very purple modern dƩcor, nice but quite cold and sterile and to be honest it could do with a refit. At first glance it looked great but closer inspection shows grubbiness, especially when it comes to the carpets.
But we are here to talk about the food which Iām pleased to say was great. I had the lamb chops to start and although perhaps not up to the big flavour sensation Iāve become used to, they were tasty and tender none the less.
The vegetable samosas were nice too, I couldnāt tell if they were made on site or bought in (like a lot of Indian restaurants do) which is fine with me, I like to be kept guessing!
For my main I opted for something from the āShah House Specialsā, the Dum Ki Murgh described as a āwhole chicken breast stuffed with spicy meat then given the full traditional Goan treatment with roasted spiceā and thankfully it tasted as good as it sounds! The rich sauce was not too greasy and had a noticeable hit of chilli. Not hot but really flavourful. I did get a chicken leg in my dish with a piece of on the bone breast, not what I had imagined from the description but Iām not complaining. Chicken on the bone with spicy lamb? More please!
We had a side of Chana Masala (chickpeas) which tasted really fresh, light and clean on the palate, a simply lovely dish.
The bill didnāt break the bank either. It maybe a little shabby at close inspection but itās well worth a visit, so donāt be put off if you see this place empty, the food is great and the service was good.
Amazing food!! Been getting food here for years!!
Shah shah shah... where to even start?
We found this place off Google Maps - it had a really good average and the last bunch of reviews spoke well of it. Took the short walk from the hotel to the restaurant and when we got there we noticed that there was only two people in there eating dinner. Hm. Reviews were good so maybe we just hit an off time. In we went and got greeted with one of the most genuine restaurant smiles I've ever seen - Raj.
Raj and his colleagues were second to none. Really friendly, sociable and knowledge about what they were serving. I for example got convinced to try one of their specialities: Goan Lamb Shank
How was it?
It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. So much flavor mixed with really tender lamb made this, hands down, the best Indian food I've had in my life. I mean, I really love me a good Chicken Tikka Butter Masala and the likes, but this was just next level. Highly recommend! The naan bread was really great as well - puffy yet crispy with a fresh scent and taste of roasted garlic and koriander.
By the time we were leaving the headcount had tripled to six NEW patrons (not counting ourselves), and each of them got to experience that hearty warmth after stepping in.
I'll definitely be back! š¤
We've been coming here for over 15 years and it's consistently delivered. The food is awesome, the service is speedy and the whole experience is top draw. Everyone should come here. If you don't you're missing out.
It was an excellent decision; the food portion is satisfying. Don't forget to inquire about Ahmad's special lamb dish. You won't find it like this anywhere else. I dined with friends and enjoyed exceptional service in a stylish yet reasonably priced ambiance.
We have found this restaurant by chance. We have had a really excellence lunch. We asked the waiter Adhel to help to choose the dishes. We have got soup, aperizer and second dishes. They came all very fast. All the dishes was very very tasty. Adhel was very friendly and nice. We hope to come back one day. I recommend this restuarant to everyone who like indian cuisine.
Absolutely wonderful and delicious!
Probably the best food I have had in London so far!
Taste great, presentation impeccable, the nicest table service ever! Thanks Mahi!
Last but not least Mahi, went to buy the pickle sauce next door for me! Never see. Such a kindest person!
Great venue for a really nice curry. Service was great and the food was excellent. The strange thing for me was the salon opposite had a lady sitting there completely still for 2 hours. I must say I thought it was a mannequin but it was actually a real person.
This was one of the best restaurants Iāve been to, the food was outstanding and they gave a vast amount of it. The staff was extremely welcoming and respectful. Overall the experience here was amazing and Iām very pleased :)
This restaurant was a great and impressive find when my family and I were visiting London. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was phenomenal!
My sons had never had proper Indian food before and they were very impressed. My wife and I have had Indian food on many occasions and Shah Tandoori ranks towards the top of the list. The chicken biryani, chicken madras and chicken tika are all very good!!!! A must visit spot if you're in London.
Check out the "after" picture. Yes, we loved the food!
We visited this restaurant for a fantastic dinner. Food came quick and was very tasty. The host Hussain was very friendly and check in on us as needed. We would reccomned going after 7 as it is a little busier therefore more atmosphere. Would return and definitely recommend the papadums.
What an evening we had, great food amazing atmosphere and vibe. We was served by a gentleman called raj who was super polite, professional and gave me a superb recommendation on a lamb dish I've not had before but will definitely have again. We was made to feel right at home.
Fabulous little eatery. Great service and the food was excellent. Good portions, wonderful flavor. Left feeling very full.
the dishes tasted great!! And the service is very welcoming
Our family of 10 had a great time at Shah Tandoori- they created a special sample platter for us, recommended dishes and guided us on how much to order. Everything we ordered was fantastic- fresh, authentic & quick. Could not recommend this restaurant enough if youāre looking for a good Indian restaurant!
This great restaurant is on Drummond Street, in Euston. There is a short stretch of Indian restaurants here, some of which are vegetarian. Sha's has been serving since 1985 and is well established as a good choice for quality and service. The staff were very pleasant and the food was good. Onion Bhaji starter was a little dry, but both our mains of Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka Shashlik were very good. Mushroom rice and keema naan also good. Chips were disappointing as they weren't homemade - frozen fries. Add 4 poppadoms, pickles, and 2 x large Cobra bottles, and the bill was Ā£66 with 10% advance negotiated discount. The owner offered comp liqueur coffee, which was gratefully accepted. The waiter was a little pushy for me to leave a good review, even giving me instructions on how to do it. So this is a more thorough, revised review of an overall good experience.
This place is great!
Iāve been trying a new Indian restaurant every day the last week while Iāve been in town, and this has been the best. Extremely flavorful food, very friendly staff, and great prices.
This place was amazing !!! The flavors of the food , tenderness of the meat , and the people are absolutely fantastic! Canāt say enough ! If your in London please stop by, you wonāt regret it !
We had a trip in London and booked a table there in advance.
Great food, and great value for money, though a bit noisy and windy (our table stood next to the door).
The staff did all they could to help and satisfy us.
Definitely excellent indian cuisine.
Very nice cheese Naan. Butter chicken was new and interesting. Big portions. Prices reasonable for London.
Houssain served us very well.
