The historic St. George’s Tavern in Belgravia, just off the Victoria Coach Terminal, is a pioneer in first offering music-hall entertainment to patrons in the mid 1800s. Its spacious interior with separate areas offer nooks of privacy, dining space, and ample elbow room for drinking and discussion, with the full range of drinks, beers, cask ales and pub fare from breakfast to dinner.

An old British pub with a lively atmosphere which serves great food. But I found the service to be a terrible mess. True it was a busy Sunday night, but there got to be a better way to mange any eatery.

This is a pub, so the usual practice is to order food at the bar counter which was then supposed to reach the correct table. But while I was there, the servers were continually mixing up the orders with people being served dishes that was meant for someone else. What's worse, by 9 PM the restaurant had run out of most of the dishes which they never managed to tell the patrons at the time of ordering. I had to change my order twice. Ten minutes after ordering Ham hock I was told that it was not available. I then went for the lamb and another ten minutes passed before they informed me that it was not available either. I saw one family with two kids leaving the place when after an half hour wait they were told that NOTHING is available. I too was on the verge of giving up and walking out when some fish and chips somehow landed on my table. But all the anger and frustration melted away rather quickly as the warm, moist, flaky, white fish melted away in my mouth. It was divine. It was simply the best fish and chips that I came across in London and I did try it at a number of different places. Not only was the fish better than what one normally expects from pubs, it was better than other speciality fish & chips restaurants. Then they offered me a dessert for free, just as a way of saying sorry. So the evening which started with utter chaos, ended in a sweet note.

This restaurant can rank a lot higher, if the management can find a way to better manage this place.

The St. George’s Tavern began life as a restaurant. In the mid 1800s, it became one of the first establishments of its kind to successfully offer a variety of entertainment in addition to food. That history is evident in the street-level dining/bar area . When the St. George’s first offered entertainment, the restaurant was divided into two areas: one for dining and one for drinking and entertainment. When we first stopped in late one night, we sat in the restaurant section because we didn’t want to sit at a high-top in the bar. From the expression on our server’s face when we just ordered drinks you could tell we’d committed a faux pas, but he just said, “Oh, that’s fine. Just stay where you are.” Point St. George’s. After taking our order, the server came back and said, “You’re Americans, are

Enjoyed a really pleasant meal here on a weekday evening. Only a few minutes' walk from Victoria station. Arrived just before 6pm and didn't need a reservation. There's a separate dining area near the back of the tavern which has a lovely atmosphere. Service was excellent - there was only one server in the dining area but this was no problem as she (Erica) was very efficient and attentive. The pies are delicious - recommend the chicken and mushroom pie. My partner had the lamb shank Shepard's pie. The only downside was that the Shepard's pie filling was slightly runny and wasn't piping hot. Vegan and vegetarian options are available.

Leaving drinks for colleagues from work on the basement area. It was really nice location, at the back of Victoria Station. The Pub staff were very friendly and a great atmosphere in the place. Very well kept PH and a lovely place to meet friends for drinks. I did not have any food, so I can't comment on it. Plenty of seat outside also. Recommended for groups who wish to have a reserved area to have work drinks.

Stumbled across this local spot close to my hotel, and was very happily surprised. Food was excellent & so was the service! Erica was great. So polite and accommodating. I went a few times. Tried their fish and chips, homemade chicken and mushroom pie and fish cakes. All were fantastic! Highly recommended

This pub has great atmosphere and plenty of seating. We were visiting London, and my cell service was a little spotty inside the pub (important because you need QR to place order). I had trouble connecting to the free wifi as well since my texts weren't coming through for the sign in verification. Staff were very nice, allowed us to order at the bar instead. Service was very fast and the food was amazing. I'd highly, highly recommend trying the garden platter as every single thing on it tasted amazing. My bestie got one of the salads and enjoyed it immensely. I had the beef rib/brisket pie which was phenomenal -- pastry was perfect and flaky, brisket was flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious; the side mashed potatoes were super good, and the veggies were great with the gravy. Portions were large. Bathrooms are available one floor up. Would highly recommend trying their gin and tonics!

Absolutely nice pub next to the Victoria Coach Station, nice, friendly and helpful staff. There are lots of kinds of pies or other English food on the menu and of course, good beers and ciders. We loved them very much.

We had a lovely evening here yesterday, with wonderful food, drinks and fantastic service. Our server was super kind, funny and really helpful with the menu and recommendations (I'm so sorry, I didn't get her name!!!). The pies and food was literally amazing and packed full of flavour. We especially loved the sweet potato and goat cheese pie and the chicken and mushroom pie. Definitely recommend a visit here for a proper English pub experience!

Dinner at St. George's Tavern was a lovely experience. Very convenient to our DoubleTree hotel by Victoria station. On a Saturday evening, the bar area was lively and a little crowded. But we sat in the dining area to the back of the pub and it was much quieter. We ordered a Fish and Chips (with a side of Mac and cheese) and a Chicken and Mushroom pie. Both were excellent! After several average to subpar fish and chips in pubs around town, theirs was crispy, light and flaky. The pie was wonderful and the gravy for the mash was like liquid love. Staff was so accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend this place!!

Nice meal with friendly staff and easy walk from our hotel across from Victoria Station. We were visiting from the United States and the staff was very helpful with our food and beverage order. I had the sausage and mash and my wife the chicken. Their beer recommendation was spot on.

We went here two days in a row. The first night we had a hand-pulled lamb shank Shephard's Pie, a classic cheeseburger and the chargrilled ribeye steak. For desert we had a brownie and an apple pie. It was so good and the service was very friendly, so we decided to come back the next day. This time we had a Landlords platter, fish and chips, Steak & Nicholson's pale ale pie and the classic cheeseburger again. We were not disappointed, as you can imagine by looking at the pictures. We recommend this place to everyone! Thank you for two amazing nights in a row, the lovely service, great food and relaxed vibe.

A fine Nicholson's pub close to Victoria Coach Station. The St George's Tavern offers a fine selection of both cask and keg beers for our enjoyment. A Nicholson's menu for those on solids....including Sunday Roasts for both Carnivores and Herbivores! The staff are lovely and service is great. A fine place to visit and enjoy.
