Being a huge burger fan, I had to visit this place to try their cheesy juicy burgers. They were worth it. I loved each and every bite of it and would love to order from here again and again

Drawn to Mac & Wild by their winning of London's best burger in 2016, we booked a table for Saturday night and were sat in an outside table with nice views up the street. We ordered the signature "veni-moo" burger with sides of haggis pops, wilderness fries and truffle mac & cheese and some beers, all of which came out quite quickly. The burgers were great and have both beef and venison patties which were juicy and well flavoured, though they fall a little short in the "wow factor" to hit the number one spot. Perhaps the burger market has changed too much in the intervening two years and the veni-moo has failed to fully adapt. The sides were also good, though again not quite hitting the celestial heights I had hoped for. Service was adequate though the male host was a bit frosty and didn't seem exactly ecstatic for the venue to be booked out. In short, a great burger for the price and location, but the search for burger perfection must continue.

Definitely one of the best burgers ever!  The Veni-moo burger is amazing and the venison, black pudding & haggis scotch egg is worth going back over & over again! It's the best!

It was 11 am on a beautiful sunny Saturday, and what better way to start my Saturday than with brunch! I have already been to the Mac and Wild branch in the city, so I was excited to try out their Fitzrovia branch.Mac and Wild host their brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am until 4 pm, and I started the brunch in full swing with a glass of Buckie royal. The Buckie royal is a mixture of buck fizz and prosecco, for £18 per person, you can make your brunch a boozy bottomless one. To start the brunch, I had a crushed avocado on toasted sourdough bread with poached eggs and smoked salmon, which is produced in Inverawe. The avocado is ripe and is a great combination with the salmon and poached eggs. The Salmon used is fresh and pure and tasted great with a sprinkle of pepper. I always thought Scottish Salmon is the best! A must-have from the menu has got to be the full Scottish breakfast. You cannot come to this authentic Scottish restaurant and not order a full Scottish breakfast! With Portmahomack bacon from Petley farm, homemade tattie scone, white pudding, black pudding, mushrooms, Lorne sausage, scrambled eggs and bone marrow beans. The full Scottish breakfast is certainly different from a full English breakfast, but I love trying out things that I have never eaten before. I found the Scottish breakfast more refreshing with different textures and tastes, in comparison to a full English breakfast, which is usually full of grease. I absolutely loved trying out the white pudding, especially once it was dipped in the bone marrow beans sauce. Also, be warned that the beans are on the spicy side.After about 2 hours of bottomless drinking, I would recommend trying out their fresh green juice with apples, fennel, cucumber and ginger. Rich in flavour and antioxidants, this juice is sure to aid in curing a current or pending hangover. The one thing that I love about the Fitzrovia branch is the vibe, as it is a lot smaller than the Mac and Wild in the city is has a more intimate feel, and this branch is great for brunches and meeting up with a close or old friend.

If there's one thing I really bloody love - it's finding new brunch spots. There's something just SO appealing about brunch over dinner. Maybe it's the day drinking...maybe it's the whole pretending I'm a lady of leisure thing - I don't know - all I know is that I am HERE for it. And my latest Brunch find? Well, it's pretty bloody good indeed. It's not your average 'avocado on toast' jobby - no - this brunch is all about venison, game and whisky by the dramful! It's called Mac and Wild - and you're going to love it!

Mac & Wild initially started out as a street food stall, bringing Scottish culinary exports to Londoners, before opening a pop-up, and today has two permanent restaurants in the West End and City. The menu prides itself on offering seasonal Scottish produce sourced from hand-picked suppliers in the Highlands. If you’re expecting a Scottish theme restaurant, you’ll be disappointed as there are no ginger wigs or tartan costumes in sight.

Hey! Remember me? It’s been a while. I’ve been struggling with a few health issues and whilst I’m not out of the woods just yet, I am getting there.  I’m on pretty strong medication that makes me very sleepy and means I can’t drink any alcohol at all, so going out hasn’t been a massive priority. I just haven’t felt up to it.  But as my health is improving, I am starting to feel braver and the lure of Mac & Wild’s Instagram feed eventually proved too hard to resist this last weekend. So I booked a table before the feeling left me.

If there was one cuisine I didn’t expect to be eating on a Monday night, its Scottish. Mac & Wild opened in Fitzrovia back in 2015 and being as successful as it seems to have looked, the brand has since gone on to opening a second permanent site on Devonshire Square earlier this year. Here in Fitzrovia on Great Titchfield Street, Mac & Wild is offering a gastronomic journey through the Scottish Highlands, with a few too many whiskeys along the way.

If you fancy Scottish food and atmosphere, this is the right place to go to. Try the haggis pops, the Venison Scotch Egg and the Venison stake. The burger is not worth trying.

Great rustic feel with an array of meats for the discernible carnivore. Perfectly roasted vegetables and peaty whiskeys round off the meals and leave you feeling incredibly comatose- in a great way!

Like the name suggests, Mac and Wild, a Scottish-inspired culinary adventure, is quite wild – in a good way! Known for their delicious venison dishes, as well as their fresh take on the classic beef burger, Mac and Wild presents traditional Scottish food in a modern manner. According to their menu, all their venison is wild, and hunted on the mountaintops of Ardgay, while their produce and other ingredients are mostly locally sourced.

My friend and I stopped by Mac and Wild for a late lunch/early dinner, and were pleasantly surprised at the service and restaurant design. The distressed wood tabletops add to the rustic, wild décor, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive.

We started with “wee plates” of haggis pops, perfectly peppery and delicious. I enjoyed a starter of the heritage tomato salad, fresh with goats curd, radish and crispy sourdough croutes. Refreshing and jumpstarted my appetite. We opted to share the venison tartare, complete with candied rosemary (an interestingly delightful touch), kohlrabi and piccalilli puree.

The venison Chateaubriand was incredible. Tender, moist, and cooked to perfection. My friend had to try the Veni-Moo, which was listed as UK and London’s Best Burger 2016. With one beef patty and one venison patty, the flavors of the meat combine to create a juicy burger, and the cheese and caramelized onions sealed the deal. I may have stolen a bite!

The haggis mac ‘n’ cheese was also a big hit with us, as the rich and creaminess of the cheese blended with the peppery haggis. Truly unique, and unlike anything I’ve tasted before. We finished our meal with the “I shouldn’t but I will Strawberry Tart”, to which I can say “I’m happy I did.” Everything at Mac and Wild was the best!

Mac & Wild is a Scottish restaurant located in Fitzrovia, known for their famous Veni Moo burger which was voted the best burger in London! We visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and stepped into a very nicely decorated restaurant. The interior is full of wood and definitely screams wild.

You may find it hard to believe, but we at The Boozy Bunch have other interests besides food. In fact, several of us have been part of a book club (that we created) for a few years now. Because of our interest in food and drinks (we all kind of became friends because of it), we try to find a corresponding restaurant to match up & make a theme out of the evening. For example, when we read The Boys from Brazil, we went to a German bierkeller. Or when we read a book about Hungarian immigrants in London, we went to Gay Hussar for authentic Hungarian Food. Not only do we get to read new and interesting books, we get to try out restaurants we may not choose on our own. So when Bella chose the book The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, by Oliver Sacks, we hit a bit of an issue with where to go. I mean, it’s a book with case studies about brain functions. Luckily, Bella is from Scotland, so I suggested the Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild as a place to dine (at least it’s some sort of connection). Luckily, everyone agreed, and so our Boozy Book Bunch in January was planned (although we have members that come that aren’t writers for the blog.)

Mac and Wild is a meat lover's dream restaurant, recently opened north of Oxford Street by street food heroes The Wild Game Company, who won "Street food of the year" at the YBFs and Best Signature Burger at the National Burger Awards 2015. They source their venison and beef, and in fact all their meat, from their own estate in Sutherland in north Scotland, and it's all butchered by founder Andy's family's butchering company.

Mac & Wild are the makers of the mouthwatering Veni-Moo burger. That's one venison patty, one beef patty, béarnaise cheese and caramelised onion in a brioche bun sprinkled with sesame seeds. Fortunately it's as incredible as it sounds, patties arrive pink with cheese smothering every corner. For starter make sure you order the bread, freshly baked sourdough and whipped butter. The fish sticks are meaty and make a nice appetiser. With Mac & Wild only around the corner from my office, the general consensus from colleagues and friends alike is - awesome food, average service. Many have been granted discount for slow service, the kitchen is small so if you're a table of 3 or more do expect to wait.

Mac & Wild.. 

I randomly got into this Restaurant few days ago because I've noticed a huge Elk right in the sidewalk.

The main philosophy of the restaurant is to offer the fantastic quality Venison right from Scotland and bringing you into the wild mountains with their wild and warm design. 

The menu is simple and charming. And looks like they have the Best Burger in Town!! 
So I have to try that out!! ;) 
And I order as well a nice Venison Chateaubriand, with some sides and sauces. 
And because I'm curious, I try out as well the Venison Tartare and a couple of nibbles. 

The starters weren't superb, I believe they still will have to perfection them (even if the quality was top). 

Then is time for the Burger.. Beef Patty, Venison Patty, Bernaise sauce, Cheese, Caramelised Onions and Brioche Bun.. The result? 
A beautifully juicy and tasty burger, with a soft inside but crispy outside brioche bun! Loved it! (4.5/5)

Second round.. Venison Chateaubriand 510g.. How to describe it.. 5.0/5 
Top quality. 

The sides (mash and chips) were very good and simple! (4.0/5)

I just tried one of the desserts which were the Tea Cakes.. And they were interesting but not amazing! (3.5/5)

Summarising: A new restaurant which will have a very good future if keeping this high quality and service! Will go back soon!

Great food and great service. We ordered Sunday roast and the Venison topside steak. The meat did not only look amazing but also was juicy and flavorful, although it did come in a quite small portion. The truffle mac and cheese was excellent as well.

Had a great experience here, such DOPE food! I had never really tried haggish and mussels and WOW it was amazing here. Rib Eye and Venison beautiful ofcourse and the Iconic Haggish Mac and Cheese was so GOOD! Get the scotch egg as a starter is was so tasty! Shortbread dessert is too sweet, so I wouldn't order it again but the sticky toffee pudding was too DIE for! Overall great experience really comfy interior and dope atmosphere.

Wow, I think I've found a new "regular" joint in Fitzrovia! Really friendly service, fab atmosphere and great - fairly reasonably priced - food. I came here to specifically try the VeniMoo burger as it's been rated second best burger in London. It was great, juicy as heck with the venison providing just a bit of game-iness. Probably in my Top 5. The haggis scotch eggs are a must try. We also had the Mac and cheese was a substantial side. Recommended - I'll definitely be back.

Mac and Wild is a Scottish restaurant bringing the finest Scottish hospitality and food to hungry Londoners. I've not experienced a true Scottish dining experience before, but after my first dining experience at Mac 'n' Wild, I am already planning my next visit - it was that good. From the moment I arrived and stepped through the threshold, I was impressed by the interiors: brick-a-brick walls, timbered floors and faux fur hanging above you. I arrived just as service was starting to get busy (19:00) and was hungry. I'm grateful I was famished because the food, as it turned out, was outstanding, and I needed all the space I could get! The menu is meaty. Beside the burgers, the speciality teak cuts is the star of the show. The beef chateaubriand was outstanding. Soft, flavoursome with the bone-marrow gravy, and cooked to exactly how like my steak. The wilderness chips with sticky black isle lager & whisky sauce, crispy shallots & candied bacon were brilliantly sweet and one of the best fries I've ever had. It's not Scottish unless there's haggis. Don't be put off by it. My stomach used to churn at the thought of trying this Scottish delicacy, but after sampling the haggis Mac and Cheese, I can say I've become a convert. For dessert, my curiosity got the better of me and I had to try the infamous deep-fried Mars bar sundae with candied bacon. It's unusual and unlike the haggis, I can't say I'll be coming back for more. My tongue was confused with the sweetness of the sundae with the deep-fried savouriness of the battered Mars bar. Despite this, if you've not tried it before, I'd still suggest ordering - there are not many places in London (or even the world) where you get the chance to sample this Scottish creation. Having said that, it's not for everyone. From the outside, it may look like a small restaurant, but there is a more intimate downstairs basement dining area to accommodate more groups. I would still highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Staff were friendly, chummy and cool, they are great ambassadors of all things Scottish.

Amazing burger, the venimoo with extra candied bacon. Sides of fries and the truffle Mac n cheese. Such a treat for the trade buds. Washed down with a deep fried mars bar. Also had a cocktail which was delightful. I'm a bit if a burger fiend so I went for the burger but other people had the steaks and they looked so good! Will be going back again for sure. Excellent Scottish food - Wild Venison, Game and Fish from the Scottish Highlands in a cosy casual setting with friendly service. Great for Cocktails and Whisky (Esp. the Whisky flights!) Started with Balvenie Smoked Mackerel which is House cured & smoked served on a bed of potato mash with radish and chive oil. The Fish bites were cod pieces in a breadcrumb and fried. For mains since Mac and Wild is renowned for their Veni-moo Burger - which was Voted London’s Best Burger in 201 my partner had this which is a Beef patty, venison patty, cheese, béarnaise & caramelised onions - served on a brioche bun. Being a Sunday I couldn't resist the Sunday Venison Roast - super tender topside of Venison served with roast potatoes, roast seasonal veg, gravy & a Yorkshire pud. Finally we finished with Ice cream and the Broke Millionaire's Shortbread which was plenty for 2! A dark chocolate parfait, homemade shortbread, caramel mousse, cocoa soil. Well recommended and must try their Venison CHATEAUBRIAND next time!

Scottish! And yummy. First of all the staff was spectacular. I mean, beyond reproach and almost beyond compare. We interacted at length with three people and tangentially with 2 others and they were all fantastically kind, great conversationalists, fun and an addition to the environment. We ate at one of two outdoor tables, which had a heater. Inside had an upstairs and a downstairs. Reservations are definitely required but we got lucky on a Saturday night and got a walk in spot for four. The Haggis Pops were really great as an appetizer. The dirty mash was delicious and the haggis mac and cheese was not as good as it should have been but still good. The venison burger was delicious. The salmon salad was quite good and generously sized. Wine pairing with muscles was well taken and the IPA on the menu was solid.

A real niche restaurant (which is difficult these days) serving up the best of Scottish food and drink. Great whiskey selection with reasonable prices. Not sure it’s the place to go if you vegetarian/vegan as the Scottish love their red meat! Try the battered mars bar just to say you’ve had one (and it tastes really good). Would definitely recommend.

i went there last Christmas after Milan , i wanted to try a different kind of burger , and i did . i ordered there famous VENI-MOO BURGER , its a double cheeseburger but with a twist , in it a Beef patty & venison patty. Also try there Fish Bits ( delicious ). hands down , it was great , just excellent . can't wait to to go and have it again . and the place is nice , people there are friendly . you have to try it . Edit : went again today , add some more pics of this visit.

Leave your jeans belt behind as you’ll need plenty of space to get through a meal at Mac n Wild. All meat burgers are double patty which is a meat lovers delight. There are too many must have sides to get. The wilderness chips were really good and you do taste the flavour of the whiskey sauce. The Mac and cheese is a must have you have the choice between the haggis or the truffle. We went truffle an the truffle wasn’t too overpowering. Lastly the rosemary tattes were very good slightly a bit oily but who doesn’t like rosemary potatoes. Forgot to mention the we had the haggis pops. Haggis might not be to everyone’s liking but I definitely think it is worth trying even just for the chilli jam. Sauce game is very strong. As you can see I could go on and on about this place so I’ll but it’s better you try for yourself

I cannot give this place enough of ratings. The food was just phenomenal. Ordered the 'venison topside with chips', haggis pops and Venimoo burger, which was cooked a perfect medium rare, delectable with just the perfect seasoning. Finished off with the deep fried ice cream bar...and washed down with a glass of Auchentoshan whisky. My initial thought was to go with the Chateaubriand but the waitress was quite right to point out the portion sizing was good for two hungry mouths...! This was first Scottish dining experience... I would definitely go back there again once I get back to London.

Visited the restaurant for Sunday bottomless brunch. Food quality was good as well a drink options. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit. It would have been great though if the main already came with a side.

Very nice, I really enjoyed the hamburger made with deer meat! The wild flavour is amazing, but well balanced with the other ingredients. The pudding for dessert was very good too, especially with the paired whiskey, a really good match. I really appreciated that you know where the meat comes from and the modern atmosphere with some link to the past.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal of venison and contemporary Scottish riffs on Haggis, Scotch egg and mushroom mac and cheese. The waiter/sommelier offered a bottle of French red from his family’s vineyard to enhance the venison. The service was perfect and the venue cozy and stylized to match the cuisine.

Pure meaty joy. Cooked to perfection, and served in style. Quick service even around Christmas party season. Starters where amazing. You have to try the Haggis. Don’t forget to get a whiskey flight at the end as well. Look forward to trying the other locations. Also deep fried Mars bar with bacon and ice cream. Need I say more?

Excellent restaurant serving a modern Scottish menu. The place offers some really superb beers, many of which were unfamiliar to me. The haggis pops stood out among the starters, paired with the Red Jon sauce. The venison chateaubriand was lovely - tender and flavorful. The whiskey pairings offered are very well chosen. The chocolate dessert on the menu (appropriately named "I should Not But I Will") was exquisite too (get it with sales caramel ice cream). Service was super friendly.
