I visited this establishment on 28/08/18 with a friend. Came for breakfast in London as we were staying right next to it. Food was so good! We ordered the avocado on toast with poached eggs and the eggs Benedict. With a side of halloumi cheese. Also got a fresh orange juice. Service was quick and they were very kind.

Always come back to this cafe. Such nice food, nice staff, nice vibes, nice crowd and amazing salads. Their selection of salads are so amazing, tasty and not boring at all. The staff is very caring too, once our food took 5 minutes longer than normal and they didn't let us pay.

Situated beneath The Dalston library is Cafe Route, a bustling Middle Eastern and European inspired café and deli. Husband and wife team Melek & Murat and their business partner/longtime school friend Mehmet, all share a passion for food, and are inspired by their local surroundings and diverse backgrounds.

Café route conveniently located 2 minutes away from Dalston Junction overground station. My friend and I didn’t quite expected what we would find. Café route welcomes us with open arms, the space was large well lit from the natural light from the windows. From the far end, an open kitchen exposes the chefs at work.

Café route serves, breakfast, lunch, dinner and have a bakery, opened every single day of the week. We came during lunch hours; the menu periodically changes according to the seasons and ingredients they can course.

My friend and I both choose a main plus two salads to accompany the dish, but first we shared a cup of olives. Once the food came we were shocked with how super generous the portions were. The plates filled to the rim of the edges, both beaming with vibrant colours.

Man, my sweet potato had a bright shade of pumpkin, the outer jacket of the skin crumbled. Topped with lashings of BBQ pulled pork and slaw. I have a weakness for roasted aubergine hollowed inside was pomegranate molasses.

I think Café Route is on point with making delectable healthy food without sacrificing the taste. The food is a real bargain and for once I couldn’t finish my meal, as there was too much. I look forward to trying the breakfast and dinner menus soon.

Cafe Route is my local multifunctional food depot, which combines very conveniently a very nice and cosy restaurant, a groceries store on late weekday nights, a bakery on Saturday mornings, and a mini-version of in-house "Borough market" with some lovely cheeses, olives and cakes. Living approximately 30 metres away, for me Route is too local to give a sense of "going out" for food, however dining out in this place on Christmas eve was an utterly pleasant experience, heightened by the fact that it was pretty much the only "decent" restaurant in the area dare to stay open on the night of 24th.
Food is simple, but high-quality and tasty – for me this is always a winning combination. And as the place is always crowded, I must be not the only believer in this straightforward concept.
As a vegetarian, there are not that many options on the menu I could choose from, however the salad bar is extremely tasty, and the portion you get is so generous that could almost be split into today’s dinner and tomorrow’s lunch.
The cakes all look delicious, and it was here that I tried for the first time that amazing gluten-free mandarin chocolate cake (made by Galeta), which now every London cafe seems to be serving.
Artisan bread in London is still a rarely seen curiosity - running out in pyjamas to get a loaf of fresh sourdough at Route definitely has a very “Parisian” feeling to it!

unforgettable experience. The cozy ambiance combined with the friendly staff made for a delightful dining atmosphere. I ordered both the Shakshouka and Mediterranean dishes, and I must say, the flavors were absolutely incredible! The Shakshouka had the perfect blend of spices, and the poached eggs added a delightful richness to the dish. The Mediterranean platter was a feast of flavors.

Gem Mediterranean next to Dalston Junction station. The food tastes very light, but good. The shop interior is very pretty and clean and the staff are nice. Only thing is the portion sizes are quite small.

We had the hangover and pulled lamb. The shakshuka sauce that came with the hangover was the best I've had. Not super tomato forward, light and with lots of flavor. The pulled lamb was good but not my favorite. I'd also recommend making your own juice mix...my orange and ginger juice was very refreshing.

Great place to eat a healthy lunch thanks to the array of salads. I had the spinach and filo pie with two salads which was tasty and filling. The interiors are lovely. They have sits outside on a car free street. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Wow, this place is awesome! Such a fantastic venue for enjoying the sunshine and amazingly healthy dishes. I ordered the pulled pork with two salad choice and it blew my mind! The salads are so diverse and delicious, I tried the carrot and aubergine salads but they all looked great. Meals start at around 10 pounds, that’s 10 pounds well invested in my opinion! I’ll be back to small their breakfast next time. #BeatTheGrind

My boyfriend took me here Sunday morning, since we were both off. We got pancakes and the hangover, which is a shakshuka breakfast burrito kind of dish. I was very impressed with the service at this place. They had an eye out for each others sections and we never went lacking anything. The place had a very relaxed ambience and they are doing there best considering they are surrounded by scaffolding. We were very satisfied with the food, and finished it all. Howevwr i do have a few pointers regarding the food. The compôte stole the show on the pancakes, and made the dish WAY too sweet and had too much cinnamon. There was pistachios on top, but did absolutely nothing to the dish, because of the compôte. The hangover is good for a savory dish (we were not hungover though), but I would have liked the eggs a bit more flavour full. Well done on the cheese however! I would come back soon

Wow, most likely had the best brunch ever in London. I asked for the Mediterranean breakfast and it was sooo tasty. My girlfriend was also delighted with her food. Ingredients are super fresh and the place has very cool vibe (loved the hanging jalapeños). Staff was also very friendly. Looking forward to go back.

We went quite late in the day (16:30ish) and a lot of the food was off the menu, incl cocktails. The salads alone are worth going here for, mains are good but not exceptional. Also a nice selection of wine. Staff are friendly

A very nice and efficient Anatolian cafe for a Sunday brunch; was struggling to find a cafe in the area for something tasty and filling, they didn’t disappoint. First time trying a lovely cilbir, a dish consisting of poached eggs on simit (turkish bagel), with garlic yogurt underneath, chickpeas, and chili to garnish. Added my own Tabasco (lots of it - mind you) and it paired perfectly with an iced black Americano - cheers!

Service is always good. Menu is great. Vegan options are tasty. There is a really good salad selection for lunch. The avo + chocolate vegan cake bangs! Had the mushroom on toast for lunch, was really tasty and the tamarind sauce was delish but on the whole a little too salty
