Reviews Sketch Glade

The Glade at Sketch, which is one of my regular haunts, recently went under a spellbinding overhaul, and closely resembles that of a fairy grotto. Enchanted forest green carpet, tree and foliage decor adorning the walls and red laser 'firefly' light display fully immersing you into the mystical experience.

Ever eccentric, artistic and altogether 'must be seen at' venue, Sketch's small secret garden den at the side of the well known flamboyant, pink, Gallery restaurant, is a wonderfully, quirky stop off point for some carefully crafted cocktails.
Greeted by fun and equally fantastical staff members, always willing to help and find you a seat in the bijou cocktail lounge, you are quickly made to feel welcomed and at ease, and although I am a regular, everyone I have seen enter The Glade is treated with the same high standard of attention.

The cocktail menu isn't vast, but there are still enough tasty drinks to choose from, and if they don't tickle your fancy, the bar staff are always willing to mix your favourites. Notably the Chocolate Martini is just as enchanting as the venue itself, dangerously so to the point you will want to keep re-ordering them, and hocus pocus, you are slightly more tipsy than you intended. *hic*

The Glade is a perfect cocktail lounge for instagramer's wanting to get that perfect snap, couples wanting to cuddle up on the sofas, or friends wanting a good catch up in the speak easy section of Sketch.

A food menu is available from 7am - 6pm which I am yet to sample. Cocktails run from 6pm - 2am. The venue is always busy, but it is certainly worth a walk in visit to experience the other-worldly bar.

Sketch is one of London's most enticing places and Glade is the most enchanting. Decorated like a mystical forest, with laser 'fairies' skirting around the walls, it offers diners a quiet and ethereal tone. The afternoon tea is excellent with great choice and free refills. I had the lemon meringue dessert which was spot on but the accompanying hot chocolate, was not. Service was friendly and efficient.

Located in the middle of regent st. Beautiful place for having drinks before/after dinner. Calming music and classic decoration take away the stress of the day.

Dining at The Glade is a magical experience. The room is so atmospherically decorated that it really does feel like your in another quirky world.

The wall to ceiling decor, funky furnishings and beautiful table settings make this a desirable afternoon tea location, and our meal here was divine.

I would definitely recommend a visit to Sketch and especially to the Glade!

Very elegant and classic style decoration in these Restaurant, the food is very elaborate and the look of the plates is just amusing, the service is good. The total bill at the end was maybe a little to much anyway!!

Utterly mesmerising, sketch is both fresh and inspiring. There is literally something around every corner to grab your attention. The glade, where we sat for tea and cake, was charming. There was a gorgeous selection of sandwiches, light meals and a vast range of drinks both alcoholic and non. But I was drawn to the macaroons … and of the four flavours on offer (Lemon and Basil, Rhubarb and Strawberry, Apricot and Almond, Chocolate and Caramel) the chocolate was positively my favourite. The 'Jasmine Pearls' herbal tea was 'velvety, full and enticing' just as the description offered and served with precision. An enormous pleasure and I'll be back.

We had a bit of a kerfuffle at first, but eventually we got sorted and the lunch we had was really wonderful. The food was really tasty and the different rooms were awesome, not to mention the egg pod toilets! We ended up in The Glade, which is an enchanted forest themed restaurant.

I visited this place with my children while we were in this part of town. The ambiance is cozy and warm here and the place is very well-decorated. The service is also impeccable and the staff was extremely friendly, hospitable and accommodating. The food here is average with a few hits and misses. I would definitely recommend it for the excellent service, but not so much for the food.

We decide to have lunch at this place after consulting reviews online and we were very glad that the experience turned to be pretty amazing after all!
The interiors are pretty impressive and sophisticated. The atmosphere too is a little mix of high style and funky appeals.A great features are the bathroom which very intriguing and cool in design. You have to use them to know about them!
The service at the place was very helpful and hospitable. The staff was sweet enough to surprise our birthday girl( my sister) with sweets and chocolates arranged to read 'happy birthday'.
Talking about the food, all our order from wine to teas to sandwiches all were brilliant. The desserts too were innovative and yummy! The portion sizes were quite good too.
I can not wait to go back!

Sketch happens to be place for people who are smartly dressed and well suited up. This place definitely serves amazing food and incredible decor. The staff and their service is excellent and very efficient. The food is excellent value for money and happens to be having just one constraint, that is the being all smartly dressed when you are here. Recommended.

It is one of the best places I've been to. The ambiance is amazing and very lively. The decor is extremely beautiful. The food is fairly average and is not that great, definitely not the best in town. The location is superb like the five star one and is worth the visit.

I had the chance of visiting this place and had a wonderful time here. You won’t get any traditional dishes, but some quirky twists which add funky new tastes. And what a fun menu - the visual appeal of this place is great!

I have gone through all the reviews about Sketch and 90 percent of the reviews are positive and I couldn't have agreed more. This place is scintillating. The selection of the menu is brilliantly done and the staff was very coordinated and cooperative. If you are a dessert person then this place has the best in store for you. Recommended.

The scones were very tasty and buttery. They had the right spring to them, and were served with a generous amount of raisins. It was a really great example of how scones should be served with afternoon tea. They were served really warm and nice, with the best clotted cream and a crust that was really tasty and jammy. I loved it.

One of the most fancy/innovative/glamorous bars in London? Hell yes! I have been to Sketch on numerous occasions and it is an absolute delight to go there - especially when I take my friends there every time they visit. I, on this occasion am not going to talk about the ridiculously cool toilets that they have - the coolest toilets I have ever seen and Londoners go there just for that. This place has so so much more to offer! The bar is spectacular and so are the cocktails! After the first sip you can tell that a lot of love has gone into creating them. If you are light weight do not dare ask the bar tenders to make the cocktail strong - because they then lose the plot and you might not be able to make your way back if you have more than 3 of those bad boys - comes from experience. They also have a huge variety of snack items on the menu to compliment the love cocktails. Sketch is one of the most unique places in London and it in a way represents London's uniqueness. LOVE it!

Sketch is always fun, even just for cocktails but it's more about the decor, the style and the quirkiness. I'm not complaining though - I'm a sucker for a cocktail served in a skill shaped tea-pot!!

The Sketch restaurant attracted me like it attracted many visitors! I loved it! An original sophisticated decor, offset, which is the charm of the place. You can eat well, for a brunch or for the famous Tea Time at 5pm.
It really is an ideal place to make multicultural meetings or practice the language!

Sketch is one of those place that you visit more for the experience than for anything else. And when I say experience, I mean an experience that encompasses several aspects of dining - from how well the ingredients in the dish we were cooked to how they were plated, the service, the decor and ambiance, etc.

My friends and I ordered the following: a Sketch club sandwich, a Swedish open sandwich, a chicken cocotte, and the plat du jour of the day, which was a Vietnamese pho with pork. While one could argue that it may be criminal to pay almost 11 GBP for a sandwich, I would beg to differ. The sandwiches weren't just two slices of bread with something tasty thrown in between. They were beautifully crafted dishes, with every element in it carefully and thoughtfully placed in a specific order. For example, the Swedish sandwich had the pork loin, fennel and parmesan in a specific order - all to ensure that the flavours gel well when you go through them. ditto with the club sandwich. Also, the use of ham and shrimp together was superb. I've had bacon and shrimps before, but ham goes equally well with shrimps.

The pho was tasty and full of flavour, but I've had many a pho before, and I know that it needs to be a little spicier, with a little more star anise in it. Also, a pho is traditionally made with beef, brisket specifically. By using pork, they've tried to be creative and succeeded because pork has a lovely flavour and goes well with the rest of the ingredients. Lastly, the chicken cocotte. I've always maintained that any dish that has chicken breast in it would be a boring dish. I may have to change that opinion because the cocotte was beautifully cooked, and even an insipid part of the chicken - the breast - was juicy and bounding with flavour.

Hats off to Sketch for providing my friends and me with some truly beautiful food. That's what it was - beautiful.

We were seated in the artsy room. I ordered waffles and mocha, which are really tasty. The place is very instagrammable and very artsy. Ambience and the atmosphere are perfect and the diners are so classy as well. Do not miss to visit the toilet.

We had afternoon tea at in The Gallery. All the food was wonderful - probably the best sandwiches I’ve ever had as part of a tea. The coronation chicken is amazing. I love how all the food matches the theme of the space as well. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the first dish was placed down and no one told us what it was; I had to ask after.

Our friends booked us in for a double date afternoon tea. And it was delicious, being waited on like that was a fun experience. The staffs memory immaculate. Super expensive, but that comes with the whole experience and I guess the fact one room has 3 Michelin stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The bathroom alone is a whole experience too, beautiful white staircase leading to individual egg like pods with music on in them. Unforgettable, thank you

4.5 stars if I could. Sketch defines a dining and bar -experience-. My friend and I visited for afternoon tea and a drink in the "room" across from the main dining room afterwards. The building is spectacular beyond words and transports you to another world in a way I've never quite experienced before. The "room" the bar was in felt like sitting in a psychedelic painting. The main dining room was beautiful and was lit exceptionally well. Enjoy taking those pics! Service is refreshingly relaxed and friendly while still maintaining the professionalism you'd expect from this calibre of an afternoon tea. The staff here really knock it out of the park. We never had an empty pot of tea and were periodically asked if there was anything we'd like additional servings of. You'd expect it to be remarkably stuffy, but they strike a great balance between being fun and refined--not unlike how they've designed the spaces. Food itself is plentiful (come ready to dine!) and beautifully presented. Nothing was particularly spectacular taste-wise but it was all tasty. Knocked down a star the food category since I really would expect for the entire set menu to knock my socks off. I've had better individual pastries a la carte at patisseries in my life though. That being said, the pineapple and chili cheesecake and orange Victoria sponge cake were highlights. Tea selection is broad and we loved being able to order as many as we liked. This was a special occasion and Sketch perfectly fit the bill for a leisurely afternoon tea in what "felt" like a once-in-a-lifetime environment. Keyword "felt" as I will certainly be back someday!

Went out spontaneously for last-minute cocktails, and we didn't have to wait too long , which is a bonus. We got served and seated pretty quickly . The service was amazing, I can't fault it at all. Pretty cool vibes, thumbs up.

Had breakfast in the (apologies don’t remember the name) the lower chandelier room and was excellent. We asked when there was availability for the 3 star Michelin and they surprisingly had an opening that day. It was the best dining experience we have ever had. All the servers (especially Daniel the Sommelier) were fantastic. The price of the tasting menu is very reasonable for the amount of food you are served, although ordering off their amazing wine list is what can get you in trouble. The wine service was excellent and am sad I do not live in London as I will not be able to return anytime soon.

The location is absolutely gorgeous! From the (very famous) toilets to the dining area and the cocktail rooms.. everything was fantastic. I was a little disappointed by the food - the portions were good for the price paid but nothing exceptional taste wise. The tartare could have been fantastic but was ruined by a huge amount of cheese/sauce. Sides (especially fries and onion rings) were very good. Amazing service.

Sketch is definitely a must do when you're in London but I feel like it is hyped up more for the ambiance than the food. Not that the food was bad but I had high expectations from the start. Make sure to book a reservation in advance! As it's a popular spot seats fill up fast. The inside is beautiful. With different rooms decorated in different ways it is very instagrammable. The bathrooms are especially cool. The restaurant was completely full the whole time we were there. The service was top notch. The waiters were amazing. Always checking up on us and making sure we were taken care of. I had the beef fillet to eat which was delicious. Also had the Burgundian egg meurette and it was good as well. Our drinks were strong and delicious. I would give it 4 stars because I felt it was a little over priced but soon learned that in London everything is expensive. So go for a cool experience, good photos, strong drinks and a unique meal.

I came with my two friends summer bank holiday Monday to celebrate my 30th birthday with afternoon tea and wow, what a celebration it was! Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service was excellent, from start to finish. I was given a very warm welcome at reception, the receptionist spoke with me which was a lovely personal touch, our server was lovely and helpful and he provided us with extra sandwiches when asked. There was also live music in the form of three ladies with string instruments, and I was presented with a plate which ready happy birthday, safe to say that the vibes were immaculate and we will definitely be coming back in the future. I wish I could remember our servers name because he was wonderful. Thank you sketch 🩷

It was a chilly autumn night and my mom and I had dinner at the Sketch. The whole experience was majestic. Superb service, top-notch and delicate food, not to mention the famous egg-shaped restrooms. I especially loved the walls and the ceiling of the dining area. However, I peaked at the tea room as well, it had the alice-in-wonderland feel. I would love to visit again in the future.

I booked the Glade room to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday and I’m glad I did so. She was blown away. The amazing décor, the dainty food, and the service were all superb. Beautiful attention to detail from the host who made sure we were taken care of. This restaurant is more than just a restaurant: it’s an experience.

You are for sure paying for that atmosphere and that's okay. We had a great time! Service really took their time with our orders and what we were looking for. $$$ higher dollar amount for sure and food was good just not as good as what you were paying for. For sure had better at cheaper places.

We didn't make a reservation but managed to get a seat about 3 noon. Food and drinks were good although £20 for a bloody mary is probably the most expensive I've ever paid for. Unique furnishings make this place interesting. I have to give this place a 4stars even I don't really want to because it's overpriced.

I came here for breakfast at the Parlour. Very pretty atmosphere, and of course one toilet were very cool, unfortunately I could not see the other because the restaurant was closed at that time. The food is ok. I recommend to take some time at the gallery, there some tricks and optical illusion in some pieces that were very interesting. I would like to come back to a afternoon tea or dinner when in London again.

Loved the ambiance here. Called up and got a walk in for two to one or their FOUR rooms. Not the one with the 3 Michelin stars. One of the rooms had live music! -Ambiance, design, service is all 11/10. -They seemed to take some risks with the room that I ate at. - There was an overall lack of cohesion in the menu, but everything popped. St Petersburg fish with fennel was fantastic. -Salad was fantastic. Wife loved it and very crunchy. The artichoke heart dish was awesome, but struggled from a lack of balance and too much tartness from the horseradish leaves. Would probably add more sugar syrup. -Cauliflower mac and cheese was too soupy. Had to dig in the soup for the noodles, which was not pleasant. It didn't thicken up. -The African (or Jamaican) rice side dish was a nice contrast, very spicy and loved the plantains. However, it was too dark of a flavor and a tad too spicy. Recommend more acid and slightly less heat. Maybe some fresh lime. -Crazy saying this, but the bread was one of the best things we ate here -The gin/aperol drink was fantastic. -Total was $154 incl tax/tip for two people -oh one more thing. If you do nothing else, try going to the bathroom

An absolutely lovely experience having afternoon tea at sketch. The decor of the restaurant is incredible, every time you turn, it’s a completely different aesthetic and just as good as the last. It’s a truly maximalist’s dream. The service was impeccable, the Scottish gentleman at the front table/door was so kind. The cost of the meal is high (think easily £100 per person), however the quality of the food is top notch and worth every pence. Everything was incredibly delicious, and I left happily full. Make sure you visit the toilets, they’re truly out of this world. In my opinion, fully worth the cost and a delightful experience. I can’t wait to come back!
