Delicious and tasty food in a very lively ambiance.
The staff is very attentive and knows what to recommend.
Speedy service too.
Nice to hangout with friends or family.
A lively and busy restaurant chain with simple yet delicious meal options. Very fun and friendly relaxed place to go for a meal. They make a killer of a margarita and the quesadillas is well worth a try. The downstairs bathroom area is most interesting for many of the restaurant goers. Lol
The menu has a lot of vegetarian options. We ordered mostly all the veggie stuff available. The best of all was the sweet potato and feta taquito. The food was super tasty and fresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and visit here again when in London
Awesome place. The food is amazing. I love their sustainability initiative. They give away free chilli seeds to guests. Very cost & family friendly place. Must visit if you’re in Soho.
Discovered Wahaca on my recent trip to London and instantly fell in love with this funky and vibrant Mexican eatery that’s mimicking the real street feel of Mexican cities.
The space is designed in rustic, grungy style with lots of street elements. Loved the colors used in the space, giving it a very young feel. Space is not the only cool thing about the space! The food is just as great with everything that we ordered tasting great and served in a simple yet quirky style. They offer a great variety and with enough vegetarian choice as well.
The staff at Wahaca was great, very friendly and courteous and made some great recommendation. The overall experience was so good that I would certainly them each time I am visiting.
Would definitely recommend this place is you dig Mexican food and enjoy relaxed, fun and vibrant spaces.
We stumbled across Wahaca for dinner after a long day of sight-seeing. Being my first time in London, I was keen to try the Mexican inspired restaurant chain recommended to me by friends. We ordered a variety of tapas dishes to share - from the sweet potato quessidea to the cactus and eggplant tacos. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the variety of flavours. The passion fruit mojito was also amazing!
Amazing Mexican food in the heart of London! This place is the perfect, the fit out is colourful and on trend. The menu has a perfect balance of small and large meals. With amazing starters and dessert! The Pork Burrito was top notch, and the pimped up extras made it the perfect main! I will be back!
I LOVE PLANTAINS! I love plantains soooo much, you guys. And the plantain tacos here are the BEST. Actually, even just the plantains. I've been going around various food markets trying to find good plantains, but Wahaca nails it every time. The tacos are a little spicy, but I like spice. The burritos are also pretty good, but I did the mistake of ordering a plantain taco and a pork burrito which meant that I couldn't finish the burrito because of how big it was. Ah, life problems.
But seriously, I'd go back for the plantain tacos. And I do. The churros are also crazy delicious -- my roommate dreams about them. Staff is also super friendly and welcoming.
Really loved this place! Had to wait 25mins for a table initially but were quite content sitting downstairs in the bar. Plenty of delicious drinks on the menu to occupy us. We couldn't fault the service. Our waiter went above and beyond to help make recommendations on menu choices. All the staff appeared relaxed and friendly, but very professional. Great range of menu options. Need to have quite a few "street food" options to fill up. We would have been pretty hungry if we hadn't had starters before the 'bigger food' options. Delicious menu options didn't disappoint. Great atmosphere in a modern trendy restaurant.
This is place where I got introduced to margaritas in 2011. An absolute blissful drink we had classic that day. We had quite a lot of food as well but dont remember much apart from miss marg. Its a pretty happening place.
We ordered a lot of things - chicken wings, tacos, grilled chicken, quisadellas, salad - and everything was great. They have quite an elaborate menu. Cocktails were great too; had tamarind margarita for the first time ever. The place is nice and vibrant and the staff was friendly too.
Very sweet and nice Mexico street food. Crowded, but with with a lot of energy. The food was really tasty and worth it! Want to visit again and recommend all of you to try it. The service was okay, normal, for a big restaurant. Cheers
good taste and vibe. to be sort of chain is one of the best Latin restaurants in london. prices are reasonable and cocktails are just amazing.

Been twice and it is very nice for tapas charing with friends. Nice tequila drinks for starters in the downstairs bar. Sometimes the service is not 100% efficient but it is ok for a chilled night. Always a safe choice!
First of all I have to say i love the interior design of all wahaca Rest. They are so fun, trendy and cool. To start if you what something diferent from the guac order the black bean frijoles its superb! I would recommend for tapas the salmon tostadas and the chicken quesadillas. Oh and if do not what to dreak alcohol have the clean and lean juice, its FAB and refreashing.
I love coming to Wahaca as I feel you get great value for money and I always feel full after.
Here are my favourite street food style dishes:
Toastadas: Chicken & parmesan
Taquitos: Sweet potato & feta / Tender marinated chicken
Quesadillas: Chorizo & potato / Chipotle chicken
***TIPS***
If you get a Quesadilla dish only order 1 other dish as it will be enough.
If you don't order a Quesadilla then order 3 dishes.
Highly recommend the original wahaca margharita! Delicious!
For 3 people with a bottle of wine and too much food it came to £15 each! Great value!
Bad points:
- You can't book so be prepared to wait for at least 45minutes. They have a bar though in most of the Wahaca's where you can wait and have coctails and nachos and guacamole.
- I don't recommend the pork pil pil. Its extremely salty and just not great.
Great vibe excellent service combined with fresh and fantastic Mexican food makes this a definite must try. Had a quick dinner before our west end show and food came out super fast!Monique Pereira
Lovely place that is always extremely busy. The service was great, so was the food. Even though I am not a fan of Mexican cuisine, I still enjoyed it.
Such fresh food. And those lovely sweet potato tosquitos or whatever they're called. Loved my meal here. Was very fresh and was very yummy. Even the cactus tacos was a first for me. Loved it :)
Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. I had two types of tacos (steak and chicken) and probably should have ordered a side too as I wasn't full after the tiny tacos. My friend had a quasedilla and was very impressed. Good margaritas too!
I adore Mexican and I absolutely loved this place! It was a busy Friday night and we were given a buzzer to wait for our table so headed to the bar and tried their delicious margaritas!
Wahaca brings Mexican street food alive and the menu has something for everyone! I decided to try the pork scratchings with guacamole and holy guacamole they were amazing! I've never tried pork scratchings before, they sort of taste like bacon fries and dipped in guacamole they make an epic dish!
For mains I tired the pulled pork and rice, the pulled pork was so full of flavour and the parcel was oozing with juices which went perfectly with my rice!
Dessert had to be churro s and the dipping sauce was a dark chilli chocolate which went down a treat!
Wahaca is chain of restaurants in the UK but unlike nandos and milanos they have a really extensive menu of food and drinks and is a great place for good food at a good price!
Can't wait to go back!!
Reasonable prices, tasty Mexican and always a good atmosphere. I have never been disappointed when visiting Wahaca. A sure bet for a quick and casual meal.
A friend recommended Wahacca and took us along for an early dinner recently. It was bustling even on a Monday and getting a table meant a ten odd minute wait. So we wouldn't keep the next set of hungry diners waiting too long, we got straight down to it. Tried the pork pibil tacos, chicken tinga burrito, chorizo and squash quessadilas, tortilla chips with dip (they don't do salsa anymore!) and margaritas to wash it all down with. The service is quick, the food is very, very good and portions are plenty, though you can easily do more than one thing each. It's not cheap, but it isn't expensive either, and our meal for three cost us about 35 £. There's a fair few outlets around town, so the next time you see one, step in for a quick bite if you're in the mood for some good London twist Mexican.
One of the few places in London that offers decent Mexican food. Thomasina has curated a great menu with a wide variety of dishes. Location is awesome and service is young and excited. Loos are a bit dodgy though.
I'd been recommended Wahaca by lots of people, my friend mentioned that they are also very accommodating of vegans which sealed the deal for us on Wednesday night when looking for a place to grab dinner in Soho.
The decor in the Soho branch for starters was modern and eye-catching. We were seated quickly and after filling us in on the menu we asked the waitress about vegan options. This point during the evening was the only area I would criticise; the waitress didn't know what a vegan was and circled vegetarian options in the menu we had to explain that vegans don't eat dairy- and she then clumsily offered some options for my friend.
Thankfully our waiter for the evening Erik was super helpful when we were ordering and double checked the choice my friend had made was vegan and would be prepared as such.
A friend had raved about the Fish Tacos, so I opted for them and I was not disappointed! A healthy portion and lovely fresh flavours! We were all really impressed with our choices, one friend had the plantain tacos which she was super impressed by!
I'll definitely return to Wahaca, as I'm keen to try out their Quesadillas! The score would've been higher but sadly the initial service from the first waitress was a little off.
Restaurante mexicano, decoração muito apelativa, cores vivas e espaço amplo.
Muita escolha no menu.
Just Perfect...
We choose the Street food and it was amazing, the portions advised were enough, the flavor and texture marvelous, the drinks strong and tasty, the employees very attention...
To return for sure... Congratulations
Very good food, exciting good vibe about the place, busy and for 2to eat well with a drink, no deserts £30
Fozzy Bear, proprietor, has done a great job on this place, fantastic mouthwatering food. I'll be back.
Good food @gr8 price. Great food, pretty good value, always really buzzy. This place is incredibly popular and you can't book - doesn't matter when you go (even early Tuesday evening!) it always seems to be mobbed with a large queue and you will generally have quite a wait - suppose that says something about the food! It's worth the wait - food and atmosphere both amazing and the service is friendly and efficient.
What a fantastic place! Chose this as the venue for an informal meal with friends from out of town - we all loved it! The downstairs bar is a reasonable size with cantina-style decor and the cocktails were great. We ate from the street food menu which was wonderful. Each dish was equally delicious, but the variety of well-balanced flavours also meant that no two things tasted the same. The pork pibil and steak tacos were particularly good. Portion sizes were perfect for sharing - for an early evening meal we ordered 14 dishes in total between 4 (2 with fairly big appetites!) and everyone had enough without feeling too full. Service was excellent with great advice about menu choices and we were even given a free round of drinks for the slight inconvenience of having to move our table 6 inches to let a beer delivery get to the bar. All in all, a great restaurant in a good location with excellent staff and even better food! Just be aware that you can't book and it gets busy; from 7ish there is likely to be a line, particularly on weekends.
I found this place using the Urban Spoon app and loved it. The food was varied and tasty, freshly cooked and not microwaved. The menu steers clear of the typical Mexican dishes and it was good value. Great service and a nicely busy atmosphere at the Wardour Street branch. I highly recommend Wahaca!
The place is bright, buzzing and simply brilliant. The décor was tastefully done with a Mexican hint. I’ve never been to Mexico, but inside it felt that this may possibly give me a little taste of it and I haven’t even got to the food yet. What to eat? I wanted to try it all. In the end I figured the best thing to go for would be the ‘Wahaca Selection’ and I shared this with one of the party members, Tim. The selection consisted of: 3 por
We were all pleasantly surprised when the food turned up, the portions were big! We could have easily ordered just two dishes instead of three for lunch. All the food was spicy with punchy juicy clean flavours. My pick of the bunch was the Pork Pibil Taco. I'm getting a bit bored of pulled pork now, but I will make an exception for these. We finished off with some fabulous Churros con Chocolate. These were the most authentic I've had outside of Spain, they were spot on, crispy and crunchy with exactly the right chocolate. People say the food is pretty authentic, I've not been to Mexico but I can definitely say it's well tasty and you can tell they've not cut corners like so many chains do. It's the nice little touches too, like the little seed packet that you get at the end of your meal. It's quite telling that this place is run with care and attention and not just a money making machine. Wahaca is a fantastic place, I couldn't fault it at all, especially the price - for London it's ph
Wahaca which serves Mexican ‘street food’ and authentic tequila to be drank with a bloody mary style mix as pictured with the menu above. It was fabulous and I am gutted they don’t have a branch in Manchester.
Wahaca also falls into the tapas style restaurant where the best option by far is buying several of the smaller dishes, or the sharing meal, and trying lots of different things. The restaurant is unusually big for Soho, with a relaxed, colourfaul vibe. The staff are friendly and young, and the service is quick and without fuss although they are very inflexible about picking and choosing what you want on the sharing menu [fair enough]. WAHACA SELECTION £19.95 This is a selection of their favourities for two people to share. To be honest, girls, it is ok for three if you add some nachos and guacamole. You get pork pibil tacos, borad bean quesadilla, chicken tinga tacos, black bean tostaas, potto taquitos and wahaca slaw. Let me just say, that the slaw is DELISH. It is not creamy and kind of gross out [don’t get me wrong, I do love a good slaw but sometimes it can be truly revolting]. Fresh and light, it is t
Fresh, simple, tasty Mexican food – too hard to go wrong by.
Overall Wahaca is a great experience; the food is excellent, thoughtfully made with ethically and locally sourced ingredients and they serve an array of Mexican beers, tequilas and soft drinks. When looking for a quick, cheap meal or snack in central London I don’t think you can do better.
Overall it was a great lunch which we thoroughly enjoyed and Wahaca is very much worth a visit.
Wahaca is definitely a fun place to visit on a Friday night with a vibrant atmosphere. It makes an excellent alternative to the regular Friday night “pub followed by greasy kebab” session and I’d quite happily do it again.
We didn't realise it was the Wahaca soft opening and just wanted to grab a bite to eat after work, had I have got my way it would have been a Byron dinner... As we walked through the doors though and were greeted with those perfect words: "Free Food and Half Price Drinks" you could have heard the snap of smile as it went from ear to ear! The Pibil in Yucatecan Marinade I'd not been to Wahaca before so I was quite happy for the extremely enthusiastic waiter to explain the score and listened to his recommendations. We ordered some drinks and the Pork Crackling with Guacamole while we decided on what to have. The Crackling is bizarre; like Porky Quavers they were lighter than air and extremely crisp but in honesty we did think the portion was on the gratuitous side after a while. Fishes... Mackerel Tostada We dived into the street food which I think is the point of the place really? The Pork Pibil Taco
I think I was one of the few people in London that hadn't been to Wahaca - either the original Covent Garden branch or the snazzy new Wardour St incarnation. But now I have. In fact my friend Don and I were going to go to the temporary Modern Pantry (at Meza in Wardour St also) for lunch but after walking in there and finding it empty and being looked at kinda funny we realised it was only open in the evening...awkward. Anyway Don was singing the praises of a particular pork sandwich at Wahaca so in we went. The place is really big and bright and fun looking and I actually felt really happy sitting down - amazing how decor can totally influence your mood. I let Don do the ordering as he is a Wahaca veteran. The aforementioned sandwich, actually called a Pork Torta was AMAZING - seriously I could have eaten 3 of them. Pork pibil (slow roasted pork), guacamole, refried beans and lettuce in a really delicious bun, oh man - I want one right now! We also had tasty frijoles (black beans and
Wahaca was a really fun and unique restaurant! The street/tapas style of food meant that you didn't just have to choose one dish but could try a bit of everything and share food with friends! The service was fast and the Mexican food was delicious and not badly priced. Only problem was that the mojito I ordered had far too much ice compared to actual drink and was drank in about 4 minutes. Not great for a £7 drink! Overall though a great experience - quick, affordable and fun!
Decent place for a quick Mexican grab. Service is fast and food is good too. I personally like the ambience of the place. The bar also does fare well.
Went there with my best friend and had a great time after work and university!
The restaurant is Located in the Soho area super close to Picadilly Circus, which is the nearest tube station.
The venue was super cozy with a nice, polite and kind services! We ordered a plates to share to enjoy this amazing and various Mexican Food.
We had Chipotille Salsa, Grilled and Cheese Salsa Salad, Black Bean Tortadas, Sweet Potatio and Feta Taquito, Black Beans and Cheese, Chirozo and Potato. The plates were small that is why we ordered and couple of them to try more of their marvelous food. The prices were 4-5 pound per meal(plate).
Again great meals with excellend services and location would highly recommend it!
Never have I been so excited over small portions of food. For a veggie, it’s like Christmas to have the ability to pick and choose from a range of food and never be disappointed (though I always go back to the Summery new potato taquitos). The bill was very reasonable, as it’s usually never more than £20 for me.
The restaurant is also in a convenient location, being just around the corner in Soho from all the West End shows and cinemas.
If you have to wait for a table then you can go to the bar downstairs and have a few drinks to kill time. Though it’s usually very busy, the service is still consistent and you’re never left waiting for long periods of time for your food.
Great location, great service and great food.
If you're like me, and find it difficult to make one order and stick to it, then you'll love Wahaca; they serve lots of little dishes to share, kind of like Mexican tapas (why choose between tacos and quesadillas if you don't have to?) Wahaca serves consistently good quality Mexican food in a relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
Unlike so much tex-mex food, there's nothing heavy, stodgy or greasy going on here. Just the best frijoles I've ever eaten, and really top notch margaritas.
The main appeal of Wahaca is just how crazily well priced everything is! Their tostadas in particular all sounded fun and flavoursome and for a fiver it's a great find. The only down side was that the service was a bit slow.
Good food, good ambience! Don't go without a reservation! Try the cactus dishes, different!
My third time at Wahaca, and still totally loving the food there! Tried most of the street foods on the menu and everything has been delish. I love plantain tacos and the sweet potato erm i cant rmb. But they are really good, even the specials. Plus i love the fact that they have a tequila bar :) for drinks while you wait for your seat! Awesome place and great for sharing with friends! Totally recommend it!
This place is usually pretty packed but luckily, you can wait in the bar with a margarita, some tortilla chips and guacamole and they give you a device that vibrates when your table's ready.
The Mexican street food menu is great for sharing with people. It's a bit like Mexican tapas, if you like. I'd recommend the sharing menu for two as you get a nice mix of dishes.
The waiters are always super friendly, the atmosphere is vibrant and buzzing and the food is yummy.
Friendly staff and simple, quick food. The Tequila sampler is definitely worth trying.
Decent food and fun place for a group dinner! The staff were a tad rude with regards to the bill and delivering the food! Really great prices and wide variety of options!
Affordable and really delicious. For a chain business, I was really impressed with how quickly the food was turfed out and the quality! Amazing, one if my favs!
The Tequila Experience - sip away the stress of your day and get it!!
Good food and filling portions at reasonable price.
Really cool atmosphere and a great bar below the restaurant.
Suits both large groups, or just you and your date.
Really well-priced meals and a tasty selection of margaritas and tequilas.
This chain specializes in Mexican food market, that is to say, simple meals and snacks that can be found for sale on the stands of Mexican markets. It was created by the cook Thomasina Miers, winner of Masterchef 2005 issue, and big fan of Mexico (the name of the restaurant comes from the city of Oaxaca). At the moment there are only five restaurants, the decor style flash enough, and you can not book a table. The servers are friendly, the atmosphere is festive, and you can drink good tequila based cocktails and make full molecular chicken tacos, quesadillas and guacamole. Fans of ultra-sweet desserts will be forced to churros and hot chocolate taste. Everything is unpretentious, but with fresh ingredients and exotic flavors.
I went to Wahaca on a Saturday evening without any reservation. The place was bustling and we were told we would have to wait at least 40 minutes to get a table. While we were thinking about it, the manager told us about the bar they have downstairs and that we can have a drink there till we get our table. They allotted us a table number and gave us a walkie talkie on which they'll call us when it's our turn for the table. Isn't that very cool?
The bar is super trendy and they play great music. There are Foosball tables too if you fancy a game!
I ordered kiwi margarita, and my friends ordered Mexican beers. More than the drinks I loved the guacamole they serve with tortillas. It's bloody delicious.
Once we got our table, we ordered a whole lot of starters, particularly from their street food section, taquitos, quesadillas and more margaritas.
There was nothing to complaint about. Food is impeccable, cocktails are yummy, service of high-standards and the decor awesome.
Among the three of us, we paid 90 pounds because of a lot of tequila shots that we ordered in the end.
Lively, fun and great value - Wahaca is the perfect place to spend an evening with friends without spending too much money. There's a reason that so many branches of this Mexican chain have sprung up across London since Wahaca first opened last year, and it's the winning combination of great food and a fun atmosphere. The best options are the sharing plates - get a wide selection of these (two or three per person) and tuck into them alongside a fine selection of Mexican beers. A very enjoyable night out.
My favorite mexican restaurant in London! Food is amazing, staff is fast and nice, prices are low, what more can one ask for in London! The place is so good that there is always a big queue at the front, the restaurant doesn't take any reservations. Expect a waiting time of at least 30mins on a weekend, however it is definitely worth it. While waiting, you can go downstairs to the bar, order guacamole and mojitos and even enjoy a game of table football. Would definitely recommend for a nice evening with friends!
