Great customer service. Omg what nice waiters and waitresses. Food tasted really good however it was soooo little on the plate :( .. cocktails really nice as well. Deffo recommend it x
Lovely place for a very good brunch. The interior is beautiful. If you’re lucky you can get a more private table. I love their egg dishes and pancakes
Dined at Christopher's prior to our show. Frankly, we found it underwhelming for the price and the setting. What should have been a fine dining experience was more of a common dining experience. The food was good; not exceptional. I believe there are better options in the area, even for a pre-theatre meal.
Came into the restaurant out of pure curiosity since I couldn't accurately decide what to say about its' first impression'. But I walked in, looking a little hipster and after realizing how high class the restaurant was, I got worried about if I'd get a table.
But sure enough, I got a nice cozy table with a view overlooking the surrounding theaters, ordered -thanks to the helpful staff- a starter and a main that satisfied my mouth palette with flying colours.
If you're looking for a place to fill up your stomach, you should look elsewhere.. Because here, you get the exact quality you expect for the price you're paying.
I'd recommend this place to people with class and style.
Went here for their special Sunday brunch. It has a really nice cosy and comfy atmosphere and the ambience is really good. The staff and everyone is friendly . Make sure you get a table reserved for yourself to avoid disappointment . I had their famous French toast and they were really delicious. The portion size was decent with decent prices.
Recommendation- warm French toast with pear, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup!
One of the nicest spots in the city for brunch, dinner, or cocktails. A beautiful airy dining room upstairs and a polished, roomy bar downstairs compliment each other wonderfully, offering a versatile venue perfect for meeting friends, catching up with family or grabbing a cocktail or two with a date.
The brunches are to die for (fresh smoothies, fluffy pancakes, amazing coffee); the dinners inventive; the drinks varied and delicious. I'd heartily recommend a visit whenever you're in town.
I'm pretty excited to start this food reviewing journey so what better place to start with then none other then Christopher's, I went here for my birthday couple months back and the food, the service and the ambiance of the place was just first class, as I'm Muslim I had to preorder our meals and suggest halal meat and they were kind enough to order some halal meat in for us. The restaurant is located in Covent Garden opposite the Lyceum Theatre.
What we ordered:
For starters I had the Scallops and my friend ordered Mac and Cheese. It was the first time I had Scallops and it was a really meaty fish and the orange and cardamom dressing gave it a great contrasting flavour to the fish as well as the chervil root cream, overall great experience and I would definitely recommend the scallops to anybody. Next up is the Mac and Cheese, the Mac and Cheese was gooey cheesy rich and absolutely delicious, its the bedrock of comfort food and I didn't care if I ordered that in a fine dining restaurant, it was worth the purchase.
Now the mains, we ordered the 6oz Prime Rib-eye Blackened with Cajun Spice accompanied with Bearnaise sauce and Sweet Potato fries - match made in heaven, the perfect steak meal and at this point it was a 5/5 for the restaurant, medium steak which was slightly pink but full of flavour that Cajun spice just took it to another level with the rich bearnaise sauce (just amazing). I ordered the Surf and Turf Burger, it was the first time I'm having lobster and I googled before hand how to eat lobster so I didn't struggle as much, but the lobster was really nice it has a chicken-like texture and my burger was really good too however my mistake was taking too long to cut my lobster that near the end my burger got cold which wasn't pleasant for me but that wasn't the restaurant's fault. I ordered my burger medium as well with truffle fries and in my opinion an absolute must if you go Christopher's.
Now comes the down side to the restaurant and why I gave it a 4/5 and not 5, the dessert platter was to some extent really average and just looked a mess on the plate with a birthday message, however they do a long plate platter as well which is more appealing, I can't remember most of the desserts but I'm happy they were of a small size because I was absolutely full.
Overall, a great experience and great food, definitely going to come again!
Martini Bar = WOW. Okay, so I'll start by saying the drinks in the martini bar aren't cheap by any means, but the cocktails are so well made that if you can justify the expense, I'd say go for it! I've tried the martinis (which are VERY strong!) and had a special mojito, made with golden rum...- both gorgeous. My friends have all ventured different things and enjoyed their choices. I look forward to eating in the restaurant soon, but until now I have only had the warm nuts from the bar. They were lush!
The atmosphere is buzzy, but not too loud. A super trendy, modern, and cosy place to spend time with friends or a loved one, sat in lovely soft, low lighting...
Been to Chistophers many times. Food is excellent. Service is spotty during busy times. Its an excellent place for dinner bedore theatre
On 19th October, a bright and early afternoon Sunday, J and I decided to be American (ala Gossip Girl) and go for brunch at Christopher's in Covent Garden. And indeed once I stepped into the building, I did feel very Blair Waldorf; we were lead

Why is it my restaurant of the month? Because it is a great place to go for a big winter's evening dining experience. Start off in the cosy bardownstairs with a beautifully created cocktail and then head up the sweeping staircase to enjoy a thicksteak wit
If you find yourself mooching around Covent Garden with no particular culinary plans, I urge you to make time to start your day with brunch at Christopher's. Only problem is finding anything to do afterwards which will top it. You won't.
Everything about this classy establishment is the epitome of cool.
The restaurant itself is elegant and spacious - click on the link below to take you straight to the website. The food photography alone is enough to entice you.
Onto the menus. I've been to Christopher's on a number of occasions, so if you can't make it in time for brunch then you can head to the bar for some fabulous bar snacks and a cocktail. The seared tuna with sweet mustard and wasabi is utterly sublime, but if you want to really indulge yourself, look no further than the lobster sandwich - half a lobster, bacon, lettuce, fried egg and red pepper on toasted brioche. Sheer delight on a plate. Naturally it would be awfully gauche not to order a glass of Laurent Perrier for this rock star food fest. For lovers of carpaccio, try it with sautéed onions, gruyère, cheddar & steak sauce - it's as delicious as it sounds.
Like the other menus, brunch is quite extensive and although I am wary of long menus in general, Christopher's is a rare exception. Eyes greedily race over the myriad of dishes on offer, but I no longer need to look at what's available. For me the eggs Benedict with hash brown is one of the finest breakfast experiences in town. My companion decided to be a bit more adventurous and plumped for the California Huevos, a tortilla with spicy tomato sauce, avocado, fried Eggs & Monterey Jack. That's the beauty of Christopher's. You just know that every dish is really well thought out without being too fussy or ponsy.
Not one to normally start imbibing in the mornings, I always start the brunch with a Bloody Mary. I don't know what they do but all I can say is that it's spot on.
Whether you're in town for a leisurely week-end or just a few hours, please drop your original plans and head for this jewel of a restaurant. You'll thank me for it.
American temporary restaurant specialises in lobster and steak so I decided to go with their specialities and it left me with mixed feelings!
Starter
lobster dumpling in pumpkin soup : interesting combination and it works, there was a bit of a chillies kick, which was perfect to me.
Main: sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, nothing to talk about, medium rare but it was a tad chewy and unmemorable :/
Cocktails : great selection! The bf can't shut up about his martini !
The Halal: A fellow haloodie recently flagged up a new central London restaurant serving halal food. Christopher’s serves halal beef and lamb and they are able to pre-order halal chicken (although there is only one chicken dish on the entire menu) if they are given 48 hours notice.
The Place: Just off the Strand and located in the heart of theatreland is Christopher’s, an elegant American grill. It originally opened in 1991 and was refurbished in 2013. Having lived in London for years, I’m quite surprised I’ve never stumbled across it before now to be honest. The building has a funky history, it was once a papier mâché factory and later a casino.
The Food: The meal started off with a warm bread basket and a choice of two butters: one plain and one with herbs. The ambience and menu had more of a European vibe rather than that of an American grill. Heck there was no barbeque sauce or ketchup in sight!
For starters, the tuna tartare had a real kick to it from the ginger and a hint of mustard. It was served beneath a guacamole and a spoonful of coleslaw.
Scallops were cooked to golden perfection but the poor things looked a little undernourished on the giant plate!
The burrata and tomato salad were presented beautifully. The mozzarella was creamy and soft but once again the portion was disappointing and the salad did not add much excitement to the dish. Just give me a bigger chunk of cheese next time please!
For mains, my compatriots all went for hearty steaks. There was an option to have the steak blackened with Cajun spices (the waiter highly recommended this). He was right to do so as the coating brought an earthy, smokey element to the beef. The quality was spot on and despite two of the steaks being cooked beyond what had been requested, the meat retained its tenderness. The steaks were served with a choice of sauce: Bearnaise, peppercorn, steak, Chimichurri, blue cheese or red wine. We tried peppercorn and the bearnaise, both were pleasant.
There were no side dishes provided with the mains (disappointing given the price). The Parmesan truffle fries were indulgent and delicious. Sweet potato fries were also good but lurked in the shadows of the ‘superior chip’.
I ordered the Missouri-rubbed rack of Argyll hill lamb. It was pretty as a picture and served with a butternut squash galette and a minted pea puree and celeriac mash which were both spoon-pushed in abstract patterns across the plate. The lamb was well-cooked and moist.
The Price: All things considered the restaurant was more a fine-dining experience rather than the American Grill I hoped it would be. I certainly didn’t expect to be paying Michelin prices for my dinner! Starters were between £11-16, steaks £16-40 (Wagyu – not halal – at a premium price of £68), other mains were around £20-30. The pre and post theatre menu is much more reasonably priced but the timings are a little awkward.
The Verdict: Happy to have found a new restaurant in central London that serves good halal steak (the journeys to Meat and Co in Westfield have become a bit tiresome). The service at Christopher’s was polite but the price-tags on the dishes were a bit hefty for the portions that were being served. I would recommend this as a good business restaurant, it was sophisticated but the ambience was not particularly lively or relaxing. Will I be back?.. I probably will because the meat was tasty, but it will most likely be for the cheaper theatre set menu next time!
A friend and i headed out for brunch on a rainy Sunday to Covent Garden. Not a great idea, considering it was a Sunday and we hadn't made any reservations. Bagging a place in the highly touristy Covent Garden was close to impossible. After knocking on a couple of doors we finally landed on Christopher's lavish foyer hoping to at least get a table there to satisfy our rumbling tummies (and also as a respite from the rains). We were in luck and after dumping the wet umbrellas, jackets and bags were escorted into Christopher's lavish restaurant upstairs. (note: the gorgeously rustic staircase is a definite photo op).
I don't know if it was the time (we arrived around 12.30) or it was the rain, but other than a handful of tables, the rest were all free. The restaurant is large and airy with tall ceilings, minimalistic décor and beautiful views stretching out on to Waterloo Bridge. After settling in a corner table we ordered our drinks and happily ate the bread that was served on he house. My Red Snapper, a Bloody Mary but with gin was nice and spicy, maybe a little too spicy for my liking with the horseradish coming through a bit too strong. My friend was on detox diet and so she ordered the Vitamin C smoothie which she said was not too bad.
Food was fabulous, although quantity wise, i could do with a bit more because its brunch and you know you've skipped breakfast and its supposed to fill you enough to not eat lunch later. I ordered the corn beef hash with bearnaise sauce and added a poached egg to it (at £2 extra). It was absolutely delicious. The egg poached to perfection and the beef hash flavourful. My friends Portobello mushroom eggplant caviar with red onion and melted tallegio cheese was served on a toasted walnut bread. It didn't look too appetising but she assured me it tasted fab.
Like I'd mentioned quantities weren't up to mark, so we decided to split a sweet treat from the brunch menu. I think this was perhaps the best decision we took that day. The warm brioche French toast served with roast peach, vanilla mascarpone and maple syrup was perhaps the best I've ever had. So delicate the toast was and the hint of cinnamon did just what it was supposed to. I'm not spoiling it with more adjectives, but really you need to definitely give this a go.
A meal for two with drinks came to 28pp which also included an optional service tax and a £1 pp for a charity. I don't have an issue paying for a charity, but adding it on our bill without asking us got to me a bit. I didn't let it tamper my mood, so we paid up and off we went to explore rest of London on that rainy day.

One of my favourite brunching spots in the city, I've only been for brunch so I don't know what it's like the rest of the time but the brunch menu is fabulous with both really varied savoury and sweet choices. Ever the sweet tooth, I've had the buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup (the best ones in London in my opinion for this particular dish) and more recently, the French toast with vanilla mascarpone and griddled peach. For those of you health freaks out there, they have a light and healthy menu, including granola, crab cakes etc. The milkshakes look so fabulous - if I ever have room, I'm going to order them and they include a Bourbon and Baileys one. The staff are so friendly and attentive and you get a pre brunch dose of breads, which are delicious. They don't rush you and it's a lovely place for a celebratory brunch. I'm normally a fan of trying new places but this is one place I plan to keep coming back to for brunches when I'm in the mood for guaranteed great weekend morning food!
I have been in this bar restaurant for a brunch. I absolutely loved it. I loved the environment.
The food was very delicious and we both liked it.
We ordered the buttermilk chicken burger, truffle egg sandwich, 2 cappuccino and sides.
The staff is very polite.
I will definitely be back!
I have visited this place many times before normally for the french toast. This time we got the wild sea-bass. It was cooked to perfection, perfectly flavoured and delicious. The beef burger was also halal and yummy! A shame they add service charges to everything, unnecessary when it’s already expensive! Overall, a lovely meal and setting
Went with the family. Food was about 7/10. Enjoyed the service and hospitality with my family. Chose the steak and crab cake for starters. Salad was a good choice for starters too. About 50 - 80 pounds per head.

good food and atmosphere was also great , we were seated upstairs. Their brunch menu options are amazing. Anyone who wants to go for a fancy brunch , should check this place out . 😊
I recently celebrated a birthday brunch at Christopher's in Covent Garden, and it was a pleasant mid-week experience. The restaurant wasn't very busy, which gave us a more personal touch but did make the service a tad slow, probably because they were setting up for the day. Nevertheless, the overall experience was quite delightful.
For our meal, we ordered the avocado toast, wagyu beef tacos, and New York cheesecake. The standout of the meal was undeniably the wagyu beef tacos, which came with a surprising and delightful spicy twist. They were a real treat for the taste buds, and I would recommend them to anyone dining here.
The rest of the dishes, the avocado toast and the New York cheesecake, were good but fairly average, nothing particularly exceptional.
The restaurant's decor is classy, though not mind-blowing, but the bonus is a nice view of the theater and a glimpse of the Thames if you're lucky enough to snag a window seat.
I would rate Christopher's a solid 4 out of 5. It's a nice place to go, especially if you're in the mood for a leisurely mid-week meal. They have a signature French toast on the menu, which seems to be the hype—I didn't try it this time, but maybe that's the reason to come back for a future visit.
Celebrated an event here recently and the staff were lovely. There was a slight issue with the bill at the end and after much discussions they eventually corrected it. The food is good but could definitely be better for the cost, which is too high for what is being offered. I doubt I will return but good to try.
It was nice visiting the city once again. The location was perfect - great view down Waterloo bridge. The food was good though I had ask for salt and pepper for my eggs. Excellent service. Would recommend 👍🏾
Brunch was so good, very tasty food with lots of options. The French toast, in particular, was divine, and it was worth going just for that.
The service could be better, I had to ask multiple times for water.
Such a Charming and cozy restaurant. I had buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was delightful and melted in the mouth also I had the famously French toast and it was delicious. Service was great.
In my humble opinion Christopher's is the best cocktail place in London!
Over the past 10 years I have been in so many times and simply never experienced bad service or a bad drink!
Yes it's west end prices but what do you expect?
The cocktail menu is amazing and the temptation to just sit and work through it keeps me coming back again and again.
Christopher's serves up an extraordinary brunch in London, highlighted by exquisite French toast prepared to absolute perfection. The flawlessly executed creation impressed me with each tantalizing bite, cementing itself as the finest I've ever tasted. The warm and inviting atmosphere bolsters the dining experience, replete with tastefully appointed decor that evokes romance and coziness. From their prompt and professional service to the friendly and diligent staff, every facet of the enjoyable experience at Christopher's exudes top-shelf quality. If you seek a superb brunch stacked with sublime French toast in London, look no further - Christopher's delivers an unforgettable culinary gem.
I came here for a lil solo date a few weeks back. I chose Christophers after researching into where I could find the best French Toast in London, so was keen to give it a go! Upon arrival I was attentively taken to my table. I booked a table in the Martini Bar, as it was just myself. The area was not so busy when I arrived, having booked a table for 14:30 (I was told by the waitress that it had been much much busier earlier in the afternoon!). I waited a little while for the waitress to come over to me, though not notably long. Despite this, the waitress apologised for keeping me waiting, which I thought was a nice touch. I put my order in and waited for the famous French Toast to arrive, which was reasonably speedy. I was astounded by what arrived. The French Toast looked exactly as the pictures I had seen, and was the perfect temperature to begin tucking in. The Toast itself, being brioche, was beautifully buttery and sweet. It was incredibly soft inside, having been soaked and cooked for the perfect length of time. There was a slight crunch also, which was a lovely contrast. The ice cream was one of the best vanilla ice creams I have ever tasted, so creamy and a super strong vanilla flavour but not at all "synthetic". Now - the chocolate. I cannot emphasise how good the quality of the milk chocolate was, nor how much there was! Not only is there a beyond generous pot on the side of the French Toast with this liquid warm gold, there is a copious amount of it spread between the slices! I did not need much of the chocolate on the side because of this. I have to say this is one of the best, but also perhaps the most rich/indulgent dish I have ever eaten. I was most definitely in a sugar coma for a few hours following eating it! I would recommend going for this when super hungry, as despite having a big appetite, I did struggle towards the end because it is so rich! Still, as £18, I was not going to be leaving any behind! Do I think it is worth the price and hype? Most definitely. Great service, great atmosphere, and bloody great grub!
Visited for the first time, it was nice to see some halal options available and also a range of fish options. The waiters were really lovely, attentive and even intervened when some guests were behaving inappropriately but done it with class. The decor is beautiful, liked the ambience in the restaurant. The food was decently priced and tasty. To the waiter who ran down to give me back my AirPods on 20/05 thank you so much. Look forward to coming back.
The food was fantastic. I really enjoyed the french toast.
Seating was b uncomfortable.
Especially the chair.
Ceiling decor was horrible as the light looked like a spider with broken parts. Some bulbs weren’t working. The staff was helpful and friendly.
The atmosphere looks nice, food was nice but the service was extremely slow which lets them down.
Lychee juice tastes like the Rubicon’s juice, wasn’t that fresh. Deserts were nice. But having to call a waiter to be served, and calling a waiter again to order deserts isn’t what I would expect from here.
Had a lovely brunch at Christopher’s. Normally it’s really hard to just get a walk-in table but we lucked out this Sunday and had a lovely bright spot next to the window for people watching.
Attentive and friendly service from the moment we walked in and the food was delicious - we had the huevos ranchero and omelette with some sweet potatoes fries and hash brown.
You HAVE to try their cocktails - they’re amazing.
The food did take really long though but the waitress was apologetic and managed to chase it up immediately for us.
Great place for American style brunch in Central London.
My wife ordered the famous French toast, which looked amazing.
I ordered Steak and eggs. The steak was cooked medium rare to perfection with 2 eggs with orange runny yolks on top.
We also tried the Parmesan Truffle Fries, which I think was the winner of the show.
If you plan to go on a weekend, booking in advance is a must.
