have to admit that I have not often eaten tapas but I will be trying it more often after this experience. The restaurant has a bar at the front, which was pretty lively, but the dining area is well laid out, offering a degree of privacy. It wasn’t too noisy but had ambience.

The service was excellent - really friendly and helpful. The food was awesome - delicious prawns, potatoes, meatballs etc. The black rice was so moorish. My only complaint is that I ate too much!

Reasonable price at £80 for two. I will definitely go back and try more dishes.

Amid the new restaurants cropping up all over the King’s Cross area, Camino has remained steady and true. It’s a chain, but one that has maintained high standards and quality despite its multiple locations. There are currently four restaurants in London (King’s Cross, Bankside, Monument and Blackfriars) plus two bars (Copa de Cava specialises in cava and Bar Pepito in sherry). In fact, Bar Pepito is adjacent to Camino, both tucked away in Varnishers Yard in The Regent Quarter, a short walking distance from King’s Cross and St Pancras stations. Unless you are “in the know”, you could be forgiven for overlooking it. Its charming location in a hidden courtyard feels like a world away from bustling London.

The best Sangria ever is here. Right here in King's Cross, London Town. At Camino. Camino means 'road' or 'path' in Spanish and it's one I certainly want to take again. The Sangria was silky smooth with a caramel/vanilla (I couldn't decide which) aroma. Definitely the best tasting Sangria I've ever had. The secret, because I asked, is Liquor 43, a Spanish golden liquer infused with 43 herbs, spices and fruits. Along with red wine (obvs), Whitley Neill gin, orange juice, cinnamon, and lemonade. How many times need I attempt this at home before I get it right?!

But we didn't just come for the Sangria. That was an added delight. Gin and Tonics are also a specialty, served the Spanish way with lots of ice and perfectly-matched garnish. I had the Gin Mare, infused with botanicals including citrus, thyme, rosemary and basil. The Chase Seville Orange was tantaslising, with orange, juniper berries and elderflower.

The food though. Here at Camino, it is superb. Tapas dishes but without any faff or fancy stuff. Yet still elegant and more than edible. For six of us (including one vegetarian and one gluten-free) we ordered 14 dishes and it was just about enough. I could have kept eating, obviously, but it was just enough. Had to leave room for dessert (and more Sangria). The best dish by general consensus was the arroz negro, a black rice with cuttlefish and squid ink, dolloped with a creamy alioli. The special was recommended by our waiter with gusto, ribs with caramelised spring onions, and many other things besides, we got the last one. Glad we didn't miss that! The only dish that did not get hoovered up was the piquillo peppers with black quinoa. There we were, trying to be trendy and healthy at the same time - no, quinoa will never do it for me, and it ruined a perfectly nice piquillo pepper.
Dessert. Churros of course! Long doughnut sticks with a melted chocolate dip. Real Spain in your mouth. I only had a taster of the almond tart, apparently it was quite tart, but the creamy custard was sweet and light. Tocino de cielo, for my gluten-free friend, was literally, Heavenly Custard.
Tea was served with a multi-egg timer so you can gauge the strength you wish. We all want to buy one of these for our own homes now...

To add to the ambience of Spanish-ness, people sit at the bar, drinking glasses of vino Tinto and ordering tapas dishes seemingly as they feel like it. Large legs of Iberico jamon sit on the counter tops, being sliced as we watched. Latin and jazz plays in the background while all around us people relax and drink cerveza, cava and carafes of vino.

A cousin of the Bankside Camino and others, Camino was one of the first restaurants to help King's Cross become the foodie destination it now is, with Dishoom, Caravan, The Grain Store, Addis and many more now amongst the top restaurants in London. Right across the courtyard in Varnisher's Yard is Bar Pepito, London's first sherry bar also serving tapas, and managed by the same company. Imagine sunny afternoons drinking Sangria in the plaza... Be in Spain right here in London.

Me encanta.

This is my favourite tapas place. we work here, so a lot of staff from the office dine here. The thing I like is that the tomato bread is crispy, the portions of tapas generous and the chorizo is just right, tasty. A good selection of spanish wines.

Though a chain, the Camino in Kings Cross is distinguished by their excellent attention to detail and delicious delivery. My friend and I went to town ...a few mentionables include Gambas Ajillo, Jamon Cebo (cut super thin but generous in portion), patatas bravas that actually were spicy!

I have eaten at the Bankside location, which is also good, but I personally found this location to be a bit more intimate and detail oriented. Not as 'chainy' in feel.

Anyone who tells you they don’t like reading scathing restaurant reviews is a goody-two-shoes or a liar, and let’s be honest, no one likes either. I, along with most of the review-reading population, love a nasty write-up though I’d rather not delve into what this says about me or society in general. There are a handful of food writers I read regularly; they’ve been around the block and back again so I’m going to throw a limb out and say they know their stuff and they’re usually full of witty one-liners and cheeky quips. I almost always enjoy their pieces, regardless of whether they’re nasty or not but the difference is that while the positive ones are useful to know, the negative ones are quite simply, gripping.

After living for two years next door and seeing the crowd outside this place every night I finally decided to step in and it was worth it. The place is really cool to sip those chilled beers.

Always fun. Camino is pretty much guaranteed to be great. I have yet to sit down for a meal, but the beers and tapas are amazing. Fantastic vibe and always busy. I am quite looking forward to spending more time in their courtyard as the weather gets better.

Love this place!. Camino is tucked away in an alleyway that runs between Caledonian Road and Kings X Road. It's in a converted warehouse style building, with exposed brickwork and wooden floors and there is a reasonable outside space for the summer. It's a great meeting place and very handy around Kings X, if you are between trains or just want to hang out there and read the paper on a Sunday afternoon. Good choice of wine and beer, nice snacky, nibbly foods and reasonable coffee. I really like it and so has everyone else I've taken here.

I’d never been to Camino before but it had been on my agenda for a while. I’ve since gone back a number of times; Kings Cross is an ideal halfway meeting point for some of my friends so when we want an easy Saturday night catch-up we’ll often head here. Tapas tends to be expensive and disappointing in London once you’ve experienced the real deal in Spain, but Camino is a welcome change and a great addition to the Kings Cross restaurant scene. That night we shared six dishes, including my favourite Mahón frito (cow cheese fritters with tomato jam) and left pleasantly full. Tapas is for sharing and every time I have been I have been in the presence of a vegetarian, so although I can’t comment on the meat they do have a good choice of vegetarian options which is al

If you're a fan of hearty Spanish food and don't mind a fairly noisy crowd, you should check it out (it's worth visiting just for the churros alone). When you've finished dinner, head over to Bar Pepito next door for a nightcap, the group's specialist sherry bar with 19 of the best sherries from the 'sherry triangle' region of Spain. ¡Salud!

The sweet potato chips with alioli are very moorish (just not if you’re having a meeting afterwards!) as are the fried little squares of cheese. The roasted veggies on a baked biscuit and pimiento piquillo (red pepper) give you a respite from the heavier stuff.

We have been to Camino at King’s Cross just once sometime back when HP brought us. She was still quite into sandrine then and promptly order a whole jug at the bar. While I didn’t share her enthusiasm over sandrine, I remembered being really impressed by Camino’s ‘black rice’, which is essentially rice cooked in squid ink and with cuttlefish.

A close friend’s birthday gathering brought us all together for a tapas evening at Camino! Starting off in the bar area was a good way to start the birthday celebrations. It had a lively and quite an energetic atmosphere. You can always end your evening back in the bar area after your meal! There are quite a lot of cocktails on offer! As I wanted a non-alcoholic drink, the bartender made me a cocktail which was a combination of peach purée, passion fruit purée, passion fruit syrup, lemon juice. It was slightly fizzy, sweetish, orangey pink coloured and was delicious! As there was a fairly big group of us, it gave us the chance to try lots of dishes. Tapas is perfect for sharing and sampling different tastes and flavours! The Tortilla De Patata was a good sized wedge of potato omelette. There were thick slices of potato surrounded by egg. It was simple but good. The Alcachofas was something quite different. It had the artichoke as a base and it was stuffed with chickpea puree and romesc

I love Camino for a laid back dinner with friends. The octopus is amazing, and the selection of tapas is great. My favourite tapas dish, ham and cheese croquettes are often a bit rubbish in tapas places but they are great here. Make sure you book a table though, it gets really busy in the evenings with lots of local businesses nearby.

Do try some sherry...with Marcona almonds..they pair very well together..The service is brisk and the pricing reasonable..

Worth seeking out

On the advice of Zomato reviews this restaurant was on my list when being around King’s Cross. After having been around for meeting some friends I decided to go for lunch.

Inside this place looks just great (have a look at the pictures). Servers are so friendly and nice. I had so much food that I cannot draw up a list. I can just say that the “Crema catalana” as dessert was outstanding. Try it!

It is one of those places where I would like to go back with some friends and share dishes because I do think that the food is really delicious and the quality is just what I expect from a restaurant.

Price is a bit too high but it depends on what you order as always.

I do recommend this place!

A restaurant that hits with the option of a "Full Spanish" on the first page of the menu isn't shy about its food. Camino is taking traditional tapas into the modern era.

The food itself is really good, and they have the single thing I ask for in every Spanish restaurant yet am always met with a confused stare. The Cafe BomBon. A rich creamy espresso topped with condensed milk, traditionally this can be added to with mulled brandy and it is simply the most delicious caffeinated experience of my life. They didn't have the brandy but it's  lunch. So i grabbed some prawns in garlic and another rich spanish delicacy morcilla. Pan-fried black pudding, spicy alegría peppers what more could you want.

Both cooked really well, I like this restaurant the food is authentic there is just something missing in the atmosphere.

Camino is a lively and colourful restaurant that serves up some delicious tapas! The restaurant has an authentic feel and is really close to the station.

The food is great, as is the atmosphere and there is plenty of seating. The service is also friendly and efficient, which all together makes for a fantastic evening.

It is normally buzzing with people and is a popular place for drinks or a sit-down meal. I recommend the Empanadillas and Pollo Picon!

Camino is right round the corner from Kings Cross and is located in a very social little hub of small bars and restaurants. the vibe is always energetic and warm and the service mirrors that.
I've been a few times now and the food is brilliant, a wholesome take on Spanish tapas, savoury and well balanced, I personally cant get enough or their seafood and no longer want to share when I order but ill trade some of my calamari for a taste of some of those meat dishes. go, its a fun modern place with the great tastes of spain :)

Camino is the place for a lively night out. You can while away your time, with friends, at their courtyard in summer, with a carafe of Sangria and plates of Tapas for sharing. Although, they serve a wide variety of reasonably good tapas I wouldn't recommend Camino for connoisseurs of Tapas. It is a place to have fun. It can get quite crowded and sticky as it is a popular place to hang out before moving to a happening club, or one of the various stops while you pub hop.

I've never been there during the day or week days so I cannot comment on whether daytime brings a more subdued atmosphere. I would imagine afternoons to be the time for the sit down types. Weekend nights are rather crazy and you have to shout to make yourself heard.

My favourite moment was during the football world cup, when the courtyard was full of football fans watching the screen. I wonder what happened to the ones that didn't support Spain!

Tucked away in its own courtyard just off pentonville road. Caminos is a spanish bar / tapas bar. Great for group as the courtyard has plenty of space to congregate. It can get lively later in the evening but it is not really an end destination.

food is good, i prefer to use this place for nibbles rather than a sit down meal.

Only negative is that it is quite expensive - well over £4 a pint

Tuesday's are good as you get a free little tapas with each drink, although be warned it can get busy.

Tucked away just behind King's Cross station and Pentonville Road, Camino is a lively Spanish bar and restaurant with serves a great array of tapas all day. The restaurant is light and airy, with a modern design and occasional pieces of traditional Spanish decor which nicely compliment each other: there's an authentic feel as well as a spacious interior. Come in here any time of the day and it'll likely be buzzing - partially because of its proximity to a major train station, but also because it's a great place to eat.

There's a huge variety of tapas to choose from - the chicken skewers and sea bass were both highlights for me - and while you can select a few individual dishes, it's probably best to lump for a couple of sharing platters between a group. They're about £20 each and you get a great selection of items. The wine list to compliment this is also impressive, and comes by the glass, carafe or bottle. Very friendly staff - sadly, the service was a little show for my liking, but overall still very impressive. One thing to note is that while the menu doesn't change throughout the day, the vibe of the place certainly does: arrive at 11 am and you can enjoy a relaxed brunch, go there in the evening and you get DJ's and a much more lively experience. Whichever you prefer, it's worth checking out.

The food is absolutely delicious. The tapas are served slightly slower than I expected but they are really good. Especially the black rice, it taste amazing, I love it so much. One thing I would say is the price is charged slightly high but I would still take it since the food is worthwhile. Also, the restaurant is very noisy, I can’t even hear what myself is saying to friends. If you are looking for a relaxing evening, this might not be the best choice for you. But in terms of food, it definitely worth to try.

I'm quite surprised to find such a lovely and picefull place in such busy area with a bright terrace. Very friendly and welcoming staff, so is the atmosphere. Fantastic variety of different drinks, especially alcoholic ones 😁. We had some drinks and we enjoyed every drop of it 👌. Easy access for disabled 👩‍🦽outside and inside of the pub/restaurant ( the toilet is on the same level, so there is no need to worry about the stairs). Diffrent options in terms of sitting area. Good for groups or a few. Sunny or shady parts outside. Lovely decorations, which creates a cosy atmosphere with lovely Spanish music 💃 Most important 2 minutes walk to King's Cross Station, so there is no need to rush to catch your train but rather enjoy another pint of beer 😀🍻

Lovely tapas place in King's Cross. Great selection of tapas available to suit all tastes however I would say some dishes lacked a bit of flavour and were also a little overpriced. Additionally the range of beers on draft was quite limited which was disappointing considering there is also a bar as part of the premises. Otherwise this place is really great as it is hidden away in an alley away from what is usually a super busy area. Servers were also very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely variety of food. Services is lacking as they are going to the other tables with our food, couldn't figure out the table numbers. I had an incredible dining experience at Camino in London King’s Cross! This Spanish specialty restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, creating a wonderful ambiance. The food was simply amazing — from the mouthwatering Tortilla and flavorful sirloin steak to the delicious Iberico pork, Patatas Bravas, and Gambas Calamari, every dish was a delight. The staff, especially Delina and manager Maggi, were incredibly friendly and provided prompt service. A big shoutout to my friend Harri for recommending this gem! If you're looking for a top-notch Spanish culinary adventure, Camino is definitely worth every bite Exploring Spanish cocktails for the first time was a delightful experience at Camino. We were introduced to the fantastic Camino Punch, a drink recommended by the skilled bartender Aysha. Her suggestion added a special touch to our evening, making it truly memorable.

Visit here on a monthly basis, tapas quality is consistently high. I will recommend the black squid rice, Iberico pork, and basically all of their seafood based tapas. Even their black pudding is very tasty with the improved recipe. You just can’t be wrong here. Plus it is so close to Kings cross but locates in a quiet valley. Service is warm here too. I came here as a group of 15 and managed to book on the day! I was lucky that someone pulled out so they had that table. It was one big table so we could all sit together, which was lovely. Food was amazing: I ordered loads of tapas dishes for the table and they came quickly and without a fuss. The best dish we had that night was the black rice- it's an absolute must to try! The atmosphere was great, not too loud and not too quiet, and the service was spot on. Excellent place for groups.
