Very good Turkish restaurant in the heart of Mayfair district of Sheppard market square. Owner is there to ensure you enjoy your meal. Service and food very good.
Fabulous food, very helpful and well-meaning staff, the desserts baklava are to die for
Been here twice and truly enjoyed their food...thoughtful selection of middle eastern and turkish foods , generous amount of protein and juicy well marinated kebabs..my only comment is size of tables...overall great casual experience...
Very tasty Turkish restaurant at london. . ... ..............................................................................................
Lezzet:5, kalite/fiyat:5/5
Another good food outlet at St Christophers place. Primarily Turkish and Lebanese dishes but you can get a few Continental ones too. The mezzes, kekabs are quite authentic although not top class. The Sea food is good with prawns squid etc being quite popular after observing the neighbouring table orders. The kekabs I found a bit oily but within limits. Salads are refreshing and you have a fair choice available..Turkish tea is getting popular so try it with the meal or afterwards. Desserts have a limited choice but you can try some of the mid east sweets( very sweet) if you have a sweet tooth. !! The ambience is cheerful and the place is pretty full at most times particularily if you want to sit outside. Service is attentive and efficient.
This place has some really delicious food. The quality is really nice as well. The options are wide ranging as well. The location is good.
Halal - yes
Recommendation - try lamb cutlets or the trio of chargrills
Normally i reeally don't like Turkish restaurants abroad, but this one honestly quite good. I have been to many good spots in Turkey, and in the States as well, and i would say i just ate the best humus i had ever had. Also, i dont remember its english name but the main dish "köfte" was quite good.
Sofra is so underrated for its remarkably delicious dishes. You can even just barge in without any reservations. If you are going with a large group, a private room is recommended. Okay so we were served complimentary brown toast and hummus.
For starters:
Taboulah & Fatoush:
Haloomi cheese: mouthwatering , delicious and yummy. The flavour of the cheese flows into your taste buds just like how the music flows into your ears.
Mains:
Spicy meatballs: the meat is so soft. The salsa is so light. This dish is perfect. Every time I come to london, trying this dish is a must.
Chicken stew pot: comes with vegetables, perfect. Again, this is a must try dish in sofra
Chicken breast: huge disappointment, mediocre
Meat kofta: nothing special yet appetizing and tempting.
Desserts:
We were offered complimentary rahat Al halkoom
Muhalabiya: exquisite and unique, served along with coffe ice cream. This dish is a no match with other muhalabiyas.
Turkish tea: sweet and delectable!
VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY Good!. So good. Even Serap, the server remembered us, and so did Ayhan. The chicken was so tender, and the rice was very good. The salmon stew was delicious. So are the mashed potatoes. Adrian was very rough, though.
Great traditional food and the staff are always accommodating and will always make space for you. Always very busy and service is very fast.
Went there with friends on a Friday night to finally give it a try to a Turkish cousine. I can recommend the Turkish delight: tasty, delicious and not even expensive.
I also had a sip from my friend's Turkish wine. Really nice.
The service was a bit slow, but the place was pretty crowded - try to book a table in advance. On the other hand, waiters were very welcoming and friendly. The inside atmosphere is pretty smart and quite, even though all the tables might be full.
This restaurant was my favorite restaurant during my 2 week trip to London, Venice and Italy. This exceeded my expectations. This is a Turkish Middle eastern restaurant in the Shepard market in London. We happened to be walking around this area as our hotel the Mayfair was right by it. The flavors were absolutely perfect! The right amount of salt, spices and warmth. I was super impressed. It was a very satisfying meal. The service was great. They were very attentive with water, drinks and clearing our plates. The gentlemen was very kind to suggest what I would like and he was spot on. I absolutely love this place. I highly recommend if you like savory dishes with flavor. The pictures of the food don’t do it justice as it literally one of the most satisfying meals I’ve ever had.
The food was great, atmosphere also lovely, especially when you can dine alfresco. The service was poor - kept forgetting things, also weren’t especially welcoming, made it seem like they didn’t need our business, no smiles or friendliness - hoping we just caught them on an off day and that it’s not always like this. Portions were fairly small when compared with other establishments. Feel like there is a LOT on the menu (perhaps too much?!)
I am amazed with the quality and taste of food at this Turkish restaurant. The ambiance is just incredible and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I am definitely visiting again and highly recommend this place for some nice Turkish cuisine. I have tried the vegetarian Musakka, lamb iskandar and Lamb shish as well as the fish and chips dish for my 6 year-old niece. Every dish was a success!
Great restaurant, delicious food and very good and friendly staff, I really enjoyed it and I will highly recommend, gracias ☺️
Best meal I've had in a long time. Great portions, fabulous taste and pleasant staff. The chocolate souffle was amazing.
The staff and restaurant are most welcoming in an idyllic location. The food was excellent and well priced with a choice of wines that catered for most methinks. One has frequented this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. One comment being, it is best to book by telephone rather than via their website. 🙂
Very tasty food. I enjoyed Chicken liver appetisers. Very good customer service. I’d give 5 stars. Although I’m allergic to sesame and I notified the server. When I picked dish I asked if there’s any sesame. Gentlemen said it has none. Unfortunately it had sesame. It wasn’t pleasant surprise. Overall good restaurant.
My visit to Sofra Turkish restaurant had its highlights, with flavorful food, but I was somewhat disappointed by the atmosphere and the limited menu. While the dishes I tried were enjoyable, I wished they offered a more authentic ambiance and a broader selection of traditional Turkish foods like manti and lahmacun to provide a fuller Turkish culinary experience.
Perfect and delicious Turkish food in Mayfair.
Kind staff.
Nice ambiance.
Especially Hunkar begendi👍
An old favourite of mine from my (pre retirement) business days but last night it was me that paid the bill. Always enjoyable. Great food and service and had interesting Turkish wines both red and white. However I wont be trying Turkish coffee again anytime soon.
