One of the true delights of blogging has been the many wonderful people I've met. Inspiring people, clever people, funny people; amazing writers, photographers and wits; dear friends and kind souls. I'm always amazed at how fortunate I've been in the people I am lucky enough to call my blog-friends and the many joys they bring to my life.

Fireband Pizza has popped up in a little area of Marylebone starved of decent restaurants. Just down the road the long-running fish and chip institution known as The Sea Shell, certainly over 30 years old, this has its faithful older crowd who can either dine in or takeaway. Firebrand brings a welcome change and new offering to the area with its wood fired oven pizza.

When you first arrive at Firebrand, in the window you are greeted by the large oven and Chefs at work creating what looks like great pizzas! There is a warm welcome inside with a small team one of whom, the Manager, rolls up his sleeves and helps with service. This is good to see as it means they genuinely care about the guest experience, so everyone does their bit.

We started our experience with a glass of prosecco and a crisp dry glad of pinot grigio. For starters, I had the bresaola with my favourite burrata, served on tomato. What a big portion, all creamy and delicate. My guest had the Italian meats platter with mortadella, spicy salami, parma ham, salami Milano and bresaola. Both starters are big portions so for larger groups could be shared mezzo style.

You cannot come to a wood fired oven establishment and not have a pizza so we studied the menu and made our choices. My companion ordered the buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, rocket and parmesan. It looked great and there was plenty of mozzarella on it. No skimping there. I went for nduja which is fast becoming a favourite ingredient of mine on pizza. The spicy paste meat is very tasty. Other ingredients on my pizza included ventricina Italian sausage, mushroom, truffle oil, tomato. Of course, we know I love truffle oil too, so I was spoilt with my fave things. We shared a pot of heaven, their homemade tiramisu. Absolutely gorgeous and the rich colour of yellow as it should be according to bonafide Italians.

If you live or work in the area, there is no reason to miss out on this place. I highly recommend that you factor it in over the Pizza Express on Euston Road, as this eclipses that experience.

Yeh, you heard it all. Common wording “woodfire ovens”, pizza from Naples, thrown at you. There’s a lot of these types of pizzerias popping up in London. Franco Manca, Pizza Pilgrims, who have been successful. That’s tough competition to beat, here in London. Firebrand Pizza is different, left to prove for 48 hours using Caputo flour from Naples. Pizzas are cooked in an oven that reaches 400 degrees. Pizzas are cooked in 90 seconds flat. Just like another pizzeria I reviewed Pizza Buzz.

We stopped by for a late afternoon meal. The pizza was very good. I had the gnocchi but I asked them to hold the anchovies as I don’t like them. I fear that made it a bit bland. Would definitely go back for pizza. The service is great. Nicely decorated and nice vibe

This was an amazing restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. Both the pasta and the pizzas we had were amazing, and arrived very quickly. The tiramisu and the cappuccino were particularly delicious in my opinion. It also has a lovely vibe. I would definitely come back here.

Great option for Italian in Marylebone. Nice selection of pizzas with great and thin dough. A lot of other Italian options that are also nice, authentic and full of flavor. Quick and efficient service, very nice and worth a visit

I was in the area and looking for a bite to eat, pizza seemed like a fine idea, but the restaurant had just opened for the day and was deadly quiet - never a good sign. Fortunately I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza here. The base was thin, light and crisp. The toppings were fresh and flavorful. I also drizzled over some of the chilli oil (beware - it's potent!) and the rosemary oil both helped to amp up and elevate the flavours. My only sore point is the service, not the friendliest, but somewhat efficient.

Cozy olace with amazing pizza, pasta and dessert. The staff were very accomdating by making a special pasta for my vegeterian friends who loves white sauce pasta which turned out great! My pizza was from the menu and its one of the best I ever had. The dessert was wonderful as well As for the service they were very nice and very very fast. Everything about this restaurant is just perfect.

Visited over 4 times. Very nice pizza. Only criticism is that tables were always sticky.

Stopped here for a quick bite. Perfect choice! Great service. Pizza was delicious. Arrived quickly, hot and fresh. Would recommend and come again if I wanted a pizza in the area! Was super quiet compared to Pizza Express around the corner, most likely quicker and definitely more personal. Only photo I can add is of an empty plate which says it all!

Tasty, hot, freshly made wood fired pizza, cozy low key atmosphere and a handy location right next to Marylebone Station! Freindly staff were able to accommodate us on a tight time scale and get the food out quick as we had a train to catch!

I was positively surprised by the quality of the pizza and of its ingredients. The place is not big, so it is better to give them a ring if planning to go on a busy night. Staff is very nice and polite. Service is quick, although it was not busy when I went. Overall, a positive experience and a good pizza

The service and the pizza was good but I actually wanted a non spicy pizza with salami but instead I got a spicy pizza. Therefore I was a bit disappointed. But I can recommend the restaurant ;)

First time try for Valentine’s Day. We arrived around 3 and the restaurant was empty. We were directly welcomed by a really nice and joyful waitress. The menu is really easy to understand! We ordered drinks, starters, pizzas and desert. The quality of the food is amazing. The pizzas are hot, fresh, light and full of cheese, salad, vegetables… there’s nice music and clean surroundings. Again, the waitress was really nice and helpful. We felt really comfortable and not rushed at all. The only thing would be the price, which is a bit high up, but can be justified by these beautiful and tasty pizzas. 100% recommend!!!!

Went in for lunch before a meeting. Limited options in the area but this place was a great find. Walked in and it was pretty busy. Relatively small place and tight seating arrangement but they seated me reasonably quickly. I can imagine that it gets pretty busy in the evening so recommend calling ahead. Ordered the “Aubergine, Courgette, Mushroom, Peppers, Tomato, Mozzarella”. It was made quickly and came out fast. However, I’m not sure I found any Courgette on the pizza!! With that said the pizza was good. The crust was not thin but not too thick, it tasted good, was crispy on the outside and charred on the wood fired oven, soft inside. Cheese was decent as was the sauce. Overall decent pizza, quick and efficient service.
