Sunday roast was perfect! We went for the sharing board, 3 different meats and all the trimmings, ideal for 2 people. Service was excellent!
It’s been a while since we’ve found a decent roast in london that doesn’t break the bank, definitely our new Sunday spot!
Awesome pub to enjoy some fish and chips, a few beers and conversations mid-day Sunday afternoon! Food took a little longer than expected (but no concern to us) when the manager came over and offered a free round for the extra wait! Now that is customer service at its finest. Once the food arrived, we really enjoyed the fish and chips…peas were a great surprise. Make sure to have a Guinness, it’s EXTRA COLD Thank you The Champion, we really enjoyed the time and food at your establishment :) Cheers!
They have a great classical fish & chips. Service is cool, with the cozy ambiance of a traditonal English pub . I loved it for a quick lunch during my short visit in London.
Came here a few times on our trip to London because we enjoyed it so much. Great fish and chips, and we loved the QR table scanner to order drinks and food without having to get up. What we ordered was then brought quickly to the table!
The MOST delicious roast we have ever had. We got the To Share, which has beef, pork and chicken and it was honestly perfection - and absolutely huge. Can’t wait to come back for another!!
The female server was just lovely as well. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday!
The Champion is truly outstanding. Its stunning interior complements the exceptional pub food on offer. With a wide range of beers, from traditional cask ales to modern craft varieties, it's a must-visit for anyone seeking a genuine pub experience.
Stopped for a drink before walking Kensington Gardens. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of cozy seating areas. Lots of variety on tap. Bar food as well as a full menu. First pub that actually took our orders at a table instead of having to go order at the bar it was very appreciated.
A very cosy traditional English pub. Perfect for tourists. We went on a Tuesday night which was trivia night. We had so much fun & the food was truly comforting. Definitely recommend!
This place has the best fish and chips that I had while visiting the UK. Serving sizes are big and they have plenty of drink options.
We had an awesome time at The Champion Pub, the fish and chips were excellent and the staff was super generous. It made my London experience complete!
Made a booking with a group of friends at the garden. Fantastic experience, food and atmosphere👌🏻. Service was super, especial thanks to John who was kind and accommodating of all needs🤝
Our second last night in London and so glad we stopped here.
Fish and chips were so hot and fresh, very tasty!
Servers were lovely despite the pub being quite chaotic.
Due to the chaos service to our table was a bit slow at times but overall still pleasant.
Perhaps having assigned sections for each server may help regulate/speed up service.
All in all I would definitely recommend The Champion for some delicious food, drinks and good atmosphere!
Thanks Champion team!
I was able to get a table quickly and the food and drinks came out very fast. I ordered the steak and my friends ordered the nachos. Everything was delicious!
This London pub holds a special place in history as where Freddie Mercury penned the iconic song "We Are the Champions." With its cool atmosphere and friendly staff, it's a must-visit spot.
🚇 Notting Hill Gate
🍺 £5.70 Pravha
❤️ A marvellous Notting Hill pub with superb service.
.
The Champion is located on the border between Notting Hill and Bayswater and opposite the north entrance to Kensington Gardens. The nearest tube is Notting Hill Gate which is a few minutes walk away.
.
This pub was built in 1851 and was frequented by members of Queen and The Clash in the 70’s. For some time this place was an iconic gay pub, today it’s a traditional pub which welcomes one and all.
.
The exterior of this pub is painted pale green which is accented by some green foliage and an awning to add a touch of class. The interior is elegant and traditional, the bar is flooded by light by the tall leaded stained windows. The stylish servery spans the length of the bar and leads to stairs down to the snug basement bar and courtyard garden.
.
The beer choice was pretty good, lots of decent keg, a few craft options and three cask ales for the connoisseurs. I had a pint of Pravha, my pint was well kept and pleasingly under £6. The food here has an excellent reputation and all the reviews I’ve read are glowing. The menu is pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £16.50.
.
The atmosphere on this Saturday was calm and relaxed. There were a fair few punters in with a 50/50 split diners/drinkers. I must mention the staff here who were fantastic. There were about four on duty all of which were personable, considerate and all round very nice people.
.
@thechampionpubw2 exceeded all expectations and I can’t help but sing this pub’s praises. It’s a stunning corner pub with a welcoming ambiance, the food and beer are excellent and reasonably priced too considering the area. This is a pub for all occasions and well worth a visit.

Happen to stumble on this hidden gem! There were 5 of us and managed to book on line for a Saturday teatime before we went for the train home.
All the staff were friendly, helpful and made us northerners feel very welcome. They took the time to chat with us which we find quite rare in London.
The food was beautiful (we had to do all 3 courses so we didn't miss out!) From what we saw we would recommend booking at the weekend like we did, we saw lots of disappointed people turned away as they were fully booked.
They do welcome well behaved dogs, we saw 4 beautiful dogs while there.
It is card only payment no cash like everywhere now.
Thank you for lovely time. It was a perfect ending to our overnight break. Keep up your excellent customer service! We will be back next year on our annual visit.
Great pub‼️ very friendly staff. 🤗
