Reviews Wasabi 58 Oxford Street

Wasabi was our all time fav for a quick EatOut in between our long shopping trips t Oxford Street. Their tofu curry is my all time favourite but this time we decided to give the new pumpkin Katsu curry a go nd it was so good. Thankfully it’s not a limited edition Halloween special so we can have it anytime we want. It’s surprising that it’s not well rated here in Zomato because it’s a good value for money outlet right at the centre of London. The only drawback is that it has very limited seating options but the takeaway boxes are such that you can easily have it on a go or on some side benches.

A regular place to visit after work. I have been to many outlets of wasabi and I enjoy them all. But I truly enjoy sashimi set, rainbow set, spicy chicken tanmen, veg soumen( yummy tofu) and chicken tanmen. Good place for a busy day to stop over and have a quick pickup/ takeaway.

I frequent Wasabi very much. It’s so handy and the food is reasonably priced, tasty, and healthy (sometimes).  There is a distinct lack of other sushi options around. I do miss my usual sushi go-to’s back in Auckland, I’ve yet to encounter a single a-la-carte sushi place here in London. Wasabi has all their ones already boxed in different themed sets. I don’t eat seafood so my options are usually the chicken or vegetarian ones. And on this day I went for the latter, with some extra tamago nigiri. These ones weirdly come individually wrapped; the excessive plastic hurts my eyes. The box is a great sized portion. The food is all satisfactory and you can plenty, with a mix of edamame, rolls, inari and some loaded fillings. It might not be the most revolutionary or the most exciting eating, but you can always rely on something to tick the box at Wasabi.

What a time to be alive! I'm sorry guys but we don't get fast food sushi in dubai and I was really fascinated by this concept. Pick up and go is definitely the thing of future and if you can deliver on this without compromising on quality then it's definitely amazing :)

Had the salmon sashimi sushi with the original bubble tea the combination was superb and the taste was yummy as well. Pretty reasonable as well.

The katsu curry was just amazing! So tasty so falvourful and the blend of spices was a delight to the taste buds.
I surely miss this place back home, please open up in Dubai it will surely be a success!

Grabbed take away comfort food at Wasabi Japanese food outlet in Oxford. Big servings for good price. Wasabi will surely be my regular foodstop whenever I will visit London.

Wasabi is always a great idea! I am a big fan of their hot curry pots so when a friend suggested a meal at Wasabi for early dinner, how could I say no?!

As usual, I went for the chicken katsu curry which didn't disappoint at all and my friend chose the tofu curry which she enjoyed very much!

This particular wasabi has a few seats so we chose to make the most of our hot food and eat it right there.

Visited this place as my wife was craving some maaki rolls. To our surprise we really loved the offerings they had. The prices were also really good with a variety of options. They even have some hot dishes on offer which was a first, will try them the next time and update the review.

There is one reason and one reason only that I left the beautiful green pastures, and even more beautiful sheep of Wales for the grey ugly-accented city of London. I'll give you a clue - it starts with "W".

No, not "work". I don't need a job I can claim benefits for my weight.
No, not "women". Do you think I can catch a woman? I don't have a job!

Pssst... Look at the restaurant I'm reviewing. Yes it's WASABEH!

I love Wasabi. Its rapid growth in London is the best thing to happen to the British capital since I arrived there. It has made it acceptable to eat gargantuan amounts of fast food in public, by marketing it as healthy Asian food. God bless the Japanese!!!

I agree with the singer Meghan Trainor when she claimed: it's all about the bento, no sushi! Sushi is uncooked food for rich people who want to stay thin. Bento, however, is so much more. It involves chicken for starters, which is a real meat (unlike fish), as well as a sauce, which means flavour! If I wanted to eat raw fish for lunch, I'd get my Gollum costume out of the wardrobe and dance around St James's Park until someone threw me a raw fish...

My go-to dish is the Sweet Chili Chicken. As many of my ewes would tell you, I like a bit of spice in my life. This is no ordinary chicken, but pieces of bread-crumbed chicken in a sauce that is as thick as sweet and sour but spicy enough to keep you awake through your boring afternoon at work. Oh the bliss!

So why only 4.5? Well, no Wasabi is perfect. Unfortunately the one by my office can have off-days, with some sauces not as tasty as other days and one time they didn't have any of my darling sweet chili chicken left. Heartbroken, I embarked on my excursion to find another Wasabi in search of my betrothed dish (there was one down the road 5 minutes away).

So if you live in London - you are blessed. It is under a fiver, filling as hell and even comes with chopsticks if you want to pretend to be cultured.

Pros: cheap, tasty, filling, Asian, "fresh"
Cons: limited range, can vary in quality, sushi wasn't filling the one time I tried it.
Would I recommend: If you are astute enough to have recognised my self-contradiction that I didn't work, but have an office (I do work... well if you call photocopying your stapler "work") - then YES! If not, then YES!

The sushi is simple (and there is not so much variation, though they say they have over 30 kinds, don't expect crazy stuff) but it is SUPER fresh, and still they have all the basics and some variation in seasoning. Most of it is with salmon, only a few with tuna, and the rest is with prepared fish or tofu.

Not only their sushi is yummy, but also the noodles and other plates (like the hot noodle soups and rice plates) are very cheap for big portions of tasty food. Especially for London, this is amazing value for your money!!

I love wasabi! There is something to be said for take-out sushi that is of good quality, far better than the packed things you get from supermarkets. I also am not big fan of certain types of sushi - so the fact that you can pick your own rather than being limited to a set in a box is a huge plus.

this one is also pretty unique as it serves hot food; noodles, katsu curry etc. While they are not what you might expect from a high end Japanese restaurant, they are good quality and value for money.

Definitely worth trying as an alternative to lunch time meal deals!

Nice sushi for on the way. You can have your sushi freshly prepped or grab the freshly packed ones and dig in. We tried the hot meals as well, they are okay / not great. Ill stick to my sushi box.

Nice place with good, fresh sushi for very affordable price in a great location. You can ask for a warm meal as well. Unfortunately there is not much space to sit and eat, sometimes you need to wait. Staff is really kind.

Super Tasty! I got the spicy salmon bento box for just £4.00 with student discount. Bargain! Staff was super friendly and asked how my day was which isn’t that common nowadays unfortunately.

The Thai Curry and rice is just on point. It has that flavoursome taste of curry, coconut, bamboo shoots and slight heat. Goes well with the soft rice. Seating is limited to about 8 (high seat) chairs which look out onto the street. They have a nice selection of hot food and sushi to take away and service is good. Overall, good if working close by as crowded so seating isn't immediately available.

It is actually not a restaurant, but it's just something like self service with lots of sushi variations and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it.

Very small restaurant with few seats. They have option to eat there or to take it away. I took the food take away. They have set boxes with some makis and nigiris. If not, they sell wrapped up individual units. They have some sweets treats, fruit, soups, noodles and hot counter. Located near underground station. Good location. It is not very expensive. Food is average.

I would leave 7 stars for Yok if I could. His service is outstanding every single time. My son and I are very thankful for his service.
