Fantastic historic pub with so many areas to sit and enjoy a beer. Haven’t had a meal here (£17 for a burger is a bit steep for me) but as a proper old pub experience, this is highly recommended.
Stopped in for a drink and to see what this place was all about. It is very cool, and the history of this place is fascinating. We met a man that popped in for a pint ( I named him Jerry) who told us about Cheshire Cheese history and how the sitting area was once an alleyway. And how it started out
Great spot for a pint. Cool building with multiple levels and lots of seating. Beers are good, didn’t get to try any food/snacks. Atmosphere is awesome!

Excellent, very old pub. Lovely, dimly lit space, lots of different rooms. Not crowded on a rainy Sunday evening. All Samuel Smith beer.
Fish and chips are one of my favorites in London. Samuel Smith Lager is quite tasty too.

Spooky, slightly smelly, but undeniably medieval, this pub was absolutely incredible if you want authentically old London 1700’s style pub. I do know it’s on London oldest pub tours, and I was absolutely blown away at the multi level sexy spooky atmosphere. Bring pals and a date you want to impress
Lovely spot to catch up with a bit of history or grab some food. The place is quite ancient and one shouldn’t be surprised to spot cobwebs lurking around. Fairly busy with visitors to London. The pub is very old and as such has 3 levels. For some reason the ground level bar and the one on the lowest floor were open when the middle was closed. It would have been more logical to have the middle open to save so many steps. Great atmosphere and good beer
The one thing this pub has in spades is history. The atmosphere is seductively gloomy while surprisingly inviting. Loved it.
Very quaint pub. Lots of different rooms that are quite small. The lower you go, the smellier it gets. If you are tall, watch your head!
One of the oldest pubs in London built in 1667 with dark wood and fireplaces. Very authentic atmosphere! IMO the must-visit place.
Visited on a Wednesday evening and sat downstairs - loved the underground vibes and twisty turns and hallways. Ordered a couple beers and hung out for a while. Before the kitchen closed, we ordered some fries (they said they were out of fish & chips). However, the kitchen forgot we ordered and close
Really cool old pub that has been open for a couple hundred years. It still had that old feel to it, the basement is especially cool, with its low ceilings and old timey vibes. Great little tourist destination. An average selection of beers but not a great selection of cider or wines.
We loved this spot! Recommended to me by a coworker for its true English pub fill! And it did just that.
